LiveCycle Server Facility

Hi,
I have LiveCycle ES4 (just the Adobe Form module) and I would like to run some of my forms in HTML 5, this clearly requires Adobe Server. What is less obvious (to me!) is how the server can be obtained, costing etc. It only needs to run documents internally if that makes a difference.
It might be not be possible to just have the LiveCycle forms and the server?, but If it is, could anyone point me to a non-techy guide to this I would be immensely grateful.

I am able to install Livecycle using Jboss setup using turnkey installation mode.
But when I try to access "JBoss Web Console" on http://localhost:8080
I am not able to see the deployed applications page(it returns a page with error code 404).
Also I tried to convert native format to pdf using Livecycle ES PDF generator it gives error code 1000: Error Message ALC-PDG-001-000.
Is it a problem with JBOSS installation?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Error trying to install Turnkey LiveCycle Server with JBoss

Hello,
I'm trying to install a trial of LiveCycle server 11.0.1 on my PC with Windows 7 Enterprise OS, 8GB RAM, 64 bit. I've successfully done the installation plus the patch, but get the following error when trying to complete the configuration via Configuration Manager:
"Failed on step Invoking component bootstrapper for task Bootstrapping PersistentObjectFramework
ALC-TTN-103-000: Bootstrapping request failed on server. Message from server:
ALC-TTN-001-021: Bootstrapping failed for platform component[PersistenObjectFramework]. The wrapped exceptions message reads:
null
Check application server logs for details".."
The error happens when the status of Configuration Manager is "Initializing the LiveCycle ES4 Database." I should mention I'm using the "Express Mode" configuration. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Memory Leak Problem at Adobe LiveCycle Server 9.0

We want to upgrade our system to 9.0. During the performance test we have found memory Leak problem at ALS 9.0. I explain the detailed problematic issue below. Is there any body who has any suggest?
We have Adobe Livecycle ES2 9.0 SP2 installed on WAS 6.1. But also WAS on Windows Server 2008 R2. We call java web services from .Net Web service for generating PDFs.
On Java side “com/adobe/internal/pdftoolkit/services/javascript/GibsonMemoryTracking” class is causing Memory Leak problem at server.
Our .Net Codes. I copied below. First we generate PDF then we convert this pdf to static pdf.
First We call the GeneratePDF function.

Are you able to log into the LC AdminUI (host:port\adminui)?

Java PDF services without Livecycle server

I use the Java client API, no workbench processes. All PDF operations, like assembly, reader extensions, form data integration and extraction, require a running Livecycle server.
Is there any option to add a Java jar to my project with the service implementations and as such excluding the Livecycle server?
Direct method calls, no EJB or REST would be perfect.

Till now I was working only with LiveCycle Designer ES 2 (LiveCycle Forms 2) , which is installed by installing Acrobat 9 PRO . I would like to know about the full version of LiveCycle Enterprise suite Server . How to install it ?? How to use it ?? What are its functionalities ?? How can I explore LiveCycle server side data post and retrieve . If I install the full version will I able to use LiveCycle Data Services ES 2 ?? What's meant by Advanced LiveCycle study ??

Thanks a lot for guiding me . One more question . What's the difference / similarities between Workbench and Workspace . Initially I was working with LiveCycle Designer ES which comes along with Acrobat 9 Pro . So no LiveCycle Server was there . Is it possible to install only LiveCycle Server here ?? And If I will install LiveCycle Server will it be helpful (in which manner exactly..) in accessing / manipulating Database ? And Is it possible to install LiveCycle Dataservices ES without installing LiveCycle Server and accessing through the LiveCycle Designer ES (The version I have currently .)

Change of port for Livecycle server

Hi all,
When we first setup our Livecycle server we configured it running on a non-standard port and have experienced repeated headaches with people behind corporate firewalls not being able to open documents secured with Rights Management.
We'd like to reconfigure our installation to solve this (change the port) but will this mean all our documents will stop working? Will we have to re-apply RM policies and then redistribute all of our documents?

Based on your description, I guess that you install the backup software on Windows Server 2012 Essentials firstly,
and then configure Direct Access. Then you find there is an issue of port 25566 conflict. If anything I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Changing the default port of Direct Access on Windows Server 2012 Essentials seems to be not a good idea. Would
you please let me know more information of this third-party backup software? You may contact with vendor of the backup software and confirm which service (or any other) listens on port 25566. Meanwhile, confirm if we can change port 25566 of the backup software.

How do you connect to a remote Livecycle server using Workbench?

I'm trying to use Workbench ES to connect to an instance of Livecycle Server that is on another machine. If I try to connect to it, it succeeds but upon opening a pdf or xdp (basically anything that opens Designer) it gives me an error, "No path to XDP file input".
I'm not sure if its a bug because, if I just change the Server Name in the "Connect To.." dialog to anything other than "localhost" while leaving the actual address the same, it will give me the exact same error. I can still edit processes but I'm unable to do anything that uses Designer.
Any help with this issue is greatly appriciated

I'm not sure, I think it was installed separate. I fixed the issue by reinstalling them seperately and applying the updates to workbench/designer. Everything works like it should now

May be you could use "netstat" or other tools like "ActivePorts" to ensure that ports established are correct.
Also try if jnp://127.0.0.1:1099 works or not, if ports are correct.

Issues with XFA to HTML5 Convertion in Livecycle server

We are working on the feasibility check for rendering the dynamic XFA form within our application to enable end user to fill-in and save the form. We used LiveCycle Designer ES4 for designing the forms. Everything works fine with the PC but when tried to load in iPad the form didn’t load at all.
We tried LiveCycle server to convert the file to HTML5 to render in iPad. But it doesn’t look neat as PDF. Listed below the issues we are facing.
1.       Data binding not working for few columns though it works perfectly in PDF version
2.       Tables are not aligned properly based on the number of rows, the following table/controls getting overlapped on the table.
3.       Submit button takes the page to WebAPI (used for Saving the entered form) url instead of saving the content. When invoked from the PDF it saves properly.
Please provide any standard/guidelines for designing the document which will be converted to HTML5 correctly.
Also, we would like to know the pricing of LiveCycle server and is there any lightweight server mode available which just does the XFA to HTML5 conversion. The LifeCycle server comes with distributable license?

Hi All,
I am very new to configuring websphere application server on adobe livecycle server. pls try to help.
I have installed the websphere properly and able to load sample webpages, but not able to configure it for adobe livecycle server.
I am trying to study and so installing both on the same computer.
the websphere webpage shows http://localhost:9081
In the windows host file i entered following(localhost:9081 server1)
inputted following values still not working
1. Deploy Type = Single Server
2. Server Instance = server1 ( this is the name of WAS)
3. Host Name : localhost:9081
4. soap port : 8880
5. admin user id : given
6. password : given
7. local application server root directory =C:/Program Files/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/
while clicking on Verify server connection, getting the following error message
Cannot connect to application server
Please help me as i am trying for couple of days to fix this.

i have the same problem but it give me error in for the Local Application server root directory.
my input was :

Unable to connect to the Livecycle Server in CM (Non Turnkey Install)

As per the guide, I performed the following steps in the non turnkey install of LiveCycle
1) Installed the JDK 1.5.0_11
2) Copied the Jboss 4.0.3 folder from the install folder to C:\jboss
3) Created the datasource and JMS for Oracle
4) Installed the Liveycle solution components
5) Ran the Config Mgr only to configure LC
6) Copied the EAR fileds from C:\Adobe\LiveCycle8.2\ConfigurationManager\export\ to C:\jboss\..\all\deploy
7) Restarted Jboss
In the next step I when I the Config Mgr to deploy the components, I am asked to verify the connected. This is where I am stuck and I am unable to proceed. I used administrator/password as the login.
I get the following error:
"Failed to connect to the service container. Livecycle container information or login information may be invalid or the server is not running or accessible."
As this is the first install the logins are default. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Can someone please help ?
