Livepkgr failing after several hours

Hello
I am using FMIS 4.0.2 with Kulabyte XStream 3 to serve live channel as Http Dynamic Streaming with DVR.
Unfortunately after 4-8h FMS fails with following message in core.00.log:
2011-08-01    19:12:48    8740    (e)2611178    Error from libf4f.dll: Failed to swap in file 'd:\hds\lv1_b1\lv1_b1.bootstrap'.    -
(the same for other 2 bitrates).
After that, streaming stops and only way to make it work again is to restart FMS. FMSCore.exe uses quite a lot of money at this point (during last occurrence it was 850MB), but it should not be a problem as the server is 4 core Xeon, 32GB Ram, Windows 2003 64-bit
This problem happens every several hours, making the live channel practically useless.

Hi ,
Thanks for using FMIS and HTTP Dynamic Streaming.
I do remember instances when we observed this kind of swap issues, but they must all have been resolved on 4.0.2 . I would cross check and let you know ...
Meanwhile, we are working on some more recording related issues that were found on 4.0.2 and shortly we should have the next dot release. Once that is available, please try shifting to that, and let us know if that has solved the problem. I guess, the many changes that went should resolve this issue.
Thanks for bringing this to notice.

  • Sending through JavaMail starts to fail after several hours

I have a strange problem send messages through JM.
I have two applications, running on Jboss, regularly sending messages to external domains through javamail. On application startup, both work absolutely fine, for several hours.
However, after a certain amount of time (have not been able to determine if this is fixed period of time, or certain number of sent messages), both applications cease successfully sending email, giving the exception (every time):
Caused by: com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 relay not permitted
    at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.rcptTo(SMTPTransport.java:1047)
    at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.sendMessage(SMTPTransport.java:584)
    at javax.mail.Transport.send0(Transport.java:169)
    at javax.mail.Transport.send(Transport.java:98)
The mail server is postfix, running locally - so this is not the normal "not configured as relay" issue. When everything is working fine, the postfix logs contain mailing information, but once the failures begin, nothing is in the postfix logs at all. This leads me to think that the problem is in the java. Especially as restarting (or redeploying) the applications resolves the problem for another few hours.
    Any ideas?
    cheers

The error message you're getting is the error message the
server is sending. You need to figure out why the server
    is sending that error message.
One thing that might help debug the problem is to keep
the debug log files for every session, at least until you
know the send is successful. If a send fails, save the
debug log file for later examination. Then you can see
the entire protocol trace with the server.
    See the Session.setDebugOut method.
One possibility here is that you're running into a bug in
your application that, after some time, causes it to lose
your session configuration properties, which could cause
it to fail to authenticate, or even cause it to connect to the
wrong server. Look for race conditions in your application.

  • JRE / JWS failure after several hours

I encountered a strange problem when trying to login to a SquirrelMail application that only occured with three out of seven browsers I use for testing. After making sure that all cookie and security settings were the same in all browsers, I happened to notice that in the failing three, there were some error messages shown in the Javascript console.
So I thought it would be a good time to make sure my JRE was up to date. I installed the latest level, but that didn't help. Then Inoticed the Java Web Start package (but didn't notice that it was supposed to be part of the JRE). I downloaded and installed that, and the three browsers started handling the login properly.
However, after several hours all three started failing again.
I repeated the JWS installation, and they worked...for a few more hours.
I repeated this cycle several times, and it was always the same: the login page was processed normally for several hours only after a reinstallation of the JWS package.
The browsers that are failing are: IE, Opera and Firefox. The ones that are not affected by this are NetScape, K-Meleon and Slim Browser.

but i kept on having download failure.

  • My iPod shut off randomly and will no longer turn back on. I plugged it in to charge it, but after several hours it will not turn back on. What should I do?

My iPod turn off randomly. I plugged it in to the charger, and after several hours, it still will not turn on. I even plugged it into my computer and pulled up iTunes, where it showed up on the screen as plugged in, but still it will not turn back on. Any suggestions on what I should do?

    - First try resetting the iPOd:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes, first from backup and if still problem to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • FF4 starts using all of available CPU after several hours, needs reboot.

This used to happen in the previous release version of FF, and it's apparently still the case in FF4.
Everything works fine after I start FF4. I have 50+ tabs open and visible through TabMixPlus and FF is fast and snappy just like I want it to be, but after several hours (most often when I come back to the PC in the morning) it starts hogging too much CPU. I don't care so much for memory, I have plenty of that to spare, but once it maxes out a core once per second, FF completely slows down about that often and becomes completely unusable. I have to reboot it every time to fix that.

recently bought a samsung NX30 camera which came with lightroom 5, after several hours of googling i got it setup properly with the correct camera raw to be able to access my raw images. I found my old laptop was very slow when processing the hundreds of images I usually take on a weekly basis.  I bought a new faster laptop but when I looked for the cd with the software and serial I could not find it in the Xmas clutter.  I downloaded a trial version of lightroom and got it working on my new laptop. Is there a way to access the serial number from my previously installed version and insert it into the trail version to make it work for me?

    Mea culpa
While i registered all my cs2 thru 6 versions and my lightroom 2 thru 4 versions and recorded the serials and saved the adobe registration emails.  Since this came as a freebee with the camera i neglected this vital step.  I have the instslled version on my old laptop but want to install it on my new one.  Thanks to Jim Hess I got the serial so all is well in my world and I will register it with ADOBE

My ipod classic will not sync content, even after several hours.  I have restored the ipod, got a new dock connenctor, manually synced a few songs.  This is frustrating.  I am considering sending the ipod for service.  What do I do?

How is your iPod configured to sync TV Shows?  What options do you have enabled from under your iPod's TV Shows configuration tab in iTunes?
No error messsages when you sync your Classic with iTunes?  Try resetting all warnings with the device by right->clicking on it from under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes and choosing Reset warnings. Then resync your device to see if any errors appears.

  • Firefox becomes very sluggish after several hours of usage

In the past 2 weeks, after several hours of use, firefox becomes very sluggish. Cannot switch tabs easily. Cannot type emails easily, etc. If reboot computer, works fine at first, but again, after several hours, becomes sluggish again. This happens to both my computers which are on a network. A technician suggested a virus, but have not seen any virus messages. Use AVG 2013 virus software.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select

  • My Time Machine stalls during initial backup on external hard drive even after several hours.

We have been using Time Machine and an external hard drive to back up our MacBook for almost a year now.  Recently, the hard drive (using a USB) was removed without ejecting it properly.  After that, the auto backups began stalling.  We tried setting up Time Machine all over again but the initial back up stalls at different places (like 6MB of 87GB) even if it's left for several hours overnight.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?  If not, can anyone suggest another inexpensive way of backing up our files from our MacBook?
    Thanks!

It might have created a new user and loaded under that.. new user being the old user. But if you have issues do it again, only this time pick where the backup will go.

The other questions might also be relevant as a new hard disk will make the Mac appear to the TM backup as a new computer.

my battery went dead- I plugged in it.  several hours later I went back to it and it wasn't on. instead the only thing on the screen was a picture of the plug in and the icon itunes on top of it.  I have no idea what that means.  My phone will not turn on even after I hold both buttons. i was told a while back that the i7 program can mess this up and to hold both buttons down to reboot the phone.  I tried this but even this isn't working.  Any ideas?

  • IMac very slow after several hours of use, esp. when using Photoshop

    Hi all,
I have a fairly new iMac (mid-2008 20" model) with a 2.4ghz Intel processor. I am a web designer and use this machine every day for my work. Several months after installing Adobe Creative Suite 3, I noticed that Photoshop was causing the cursor to jump and/or become jerky, as if the video card or processor were not keeping up with what's going on. This tends to happen after the computer's been in use for several hours or days after a restart. I have been following this in Leopard's Activity Monitor, and I noticed that Photoshop (being memory- and processor- hungry) taxes the processor more heavily than many other programs, which I expected. The strange thing, though, is that over time the Activity Monitor shows the "System" as taking up more and more processor capacity. I.E. when I first start up, the system is using 0-20% of the processor, the rest being available for the user; but after awhile, the system is requiring 50-90% of processor capacity, the result being that as soon as I switch into Photoshop from another program, the system is immediately overtaxed and starts moving very slowly (especially the cursor, as I said).
Now, here's the really strange part. As I said, this began happening a few months after I first installed Adobe CS3. I re-installed the software at Adobe's recommendation, and it was fine for another few months, but it began happening a few days ago, which is exactly the same time I shared a jump drive with a friend's worm-infected Windows XP machine. I know Macs don't get Windows worms, but is it possible that this thing has lodged itself on my system somehow and is causing it to run generally more slowly?
I appreciate any help you can give,
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,
How much free disk space is available? Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop, then click: Get Info. In the Get Info window, click the discovery triangle so it's facing down. You will see; Capacity and Available Make sure you have 10% available disk space, 15% is way better.
Not enough disks space could certainly slow your Mac down.
" but it began happening a few days ago, which is exactly the same time I shared a jump drive with a friend's worm-infected Windows XP machine. I know Macs don't get Windows worms, but is it possible that this thing has lodged itself on my system somehow and is causing it to run generally more slowly"
Mac can't read Windows files, so a file from the jump drive shouldn't be an issue unless you are running Windows on your Mac? via Boot Camp?
    If you don't have a disk utility that can clear log and caches files, get TinkerTool available here;
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11967
Check your boot disk for errors: Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
Select your disk, and click First Aid.
    Click Verify Disk.
If the disk needs repairs, do one of the following:
Insert your Mac OS X Install disc in your computer’s optical drive or an optical drive connected to your computer, and then restart your computer. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the progress indicator, which looks like a spinning gear.
Follow the onscreen instructions until the menu bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer using Remote Install Mac OS X. Follow the onscreen instructions until the menu bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click Repair Disk.

  • E4200 Bridged Mode - Wireless and Management fail after 36 hours

    Greetings all,
I am trying to see if anybody else is having this problem.  I have the E4200 and have it configured in bridged mode.  Once configured, everything works great for 36 hours.
After 36 hours, all wireless devices are unable to pull an IP address and the management IP address of the E4200 stops responding.  The only way to restore service is to reload the router.
I took the first one back to Best Buy and they gave me a new one, however the new router has the same issue.
It seems to me that after 36 hours, the E4200 fails to renew its management IP and also stops forwarding wireless broadcasts (DHCP) requests to my DHCP server.
    Thoughts?

Thanks.  The new E4200 firmware has "bridged mode" so basically I just have this thing acting as a Wireless access point that has 5 Gigabit ethernet ports.
This disables the routing engine in the E4200 and it acts as a wireless AP and switch.  The E4200's WAN port then connects to a Gigabit switch located in my telco closet, which is connected to my FiOS Router.
Reason for this setup is so that devices connected to either the Gigabit switch, or to the E4200 via hardwire or wireless will all remain on the same subnet, and not cause the broadcasts to block as packets traverse subnets.
