Load a raptor report

Hi,
i just started working with raptor but i like it quite well. Could replace toad soon in my opinion. I have one question or may be sugestion on the reports in the raptor. I like the idea of preparing reports in raptor very well - this is a brilliant idea!!! I have a lot of sql-scripts i use when i work with sqlplus which do the same for me as some speacial reports in the toad (show me session, users, locks... ). I can use this sql-scripts in raptor as prepared reports - so far so good. fexible and usefull. But, i would very much like to share my reports with other raptor users. So what i would need is a simple option to "export" the report(s) from raptor and "import" it back again (or into an other raptor). Much better it would be i could export and import a whole folder such as "Data Dictionary Reports" folder raptor already provides.
I would very much like to create a folder with reports and possible subfolders named "jom_work_reports" and export it. sent it to a friend who also has a raptor and imports this reports. then he has the same folder and reports in his raptor and can use them as i do.
is there already such a tool - i did not find. if not, i strongly suggest you create such a tool.

Very impressive product, glad to see it! But I can't save and display Top SQL reports in XML format.
When I am in DB Admin/Top SQL/Top SQL by * reports and right-click the grid, I get an export option. I choose XML and specify a file name. The XML file created can't be displayed by either IE or Firefox, apparently the "/" character in the column headers is not being escaped properly?
(IE error follows, Firefox is similar)
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Unable to load the XML Report

Hi,
I am using TestStand 3.1. Someone before me has developped a lot of things in our application : specific steps, specific process model, ... . Now this person is not here anymore and I have a test report display problem.
After an execution, the execution window cannot display the test report and displays the following message :
"Unable to load the XML Report.
At line 285 End tag 'NOBR' does not match the start tag 'BR'."
Also with Internet Explorer, the test report cannot be displayed (and he locates the error at lign 287) .
Needless to say that I am a poor guy in XML code that's why I am asking you some help.
But, I opened the .xml with a text editor and that is the part of the code which causes the problem :

Very slow loading time - Crystal Reports Viewer 2008

Hi,
I search this forum to find another thread regarding this issue. Since I've found nothing in particular, I started this one.
We are currently developping a new report engine based on the .Net Crystal Report Viewer. This engine will be used in our applications to show, print and export reports. We based the engine on the Crystal Report 2008 version (12.0.2000). The code is in C#, targeted on the Framework 3.5 SP1. For the CR runtime, we tested on machines with the SP2 and SP3 versions, as well as on a computer with Crystal Report Developper installed (v12.3.0.601) with no runtimes. Since the runtime is in x86 only, the engine is compiled in x86 (not ANY CPU)
When we try to open a report in an application, the first report loading is unusally slower than the others. If I open a report, close it and open it a second time, the second time is much faster than the first. While reading the threads, I realized that the first load implies some assembly loading from the Framework (which is normal).
But since i can take as long as 20-30 seconds to load the first report, I ran some test. Using the System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.AssemblyLoad event, I've tracked the assemblies being loaded when opening the report and the start time of the loading. I've discovered that, while most of the CR assemblies takes less than 500 milliseconds to load, there is one that takes at least 3 seconds (20 seconds sometimes) to load : BusinessObjects.Licensing.KeyCodeDecoder. Each time I ran the tests, it is the assembly that is the slowest (and by far) among them all.
Prior to this, we were using Delphi with the Crystal Report 10 runtime. We never had such issues. Now, some customers are complaining about this behavior.
For you information, we are using the ReportDocument.Load() method to load documents. Our reports are all dynamically linked to the database with the DataSourceConnections.SetConnection() method. The report is being loaded in the viewer using the CrystalReportViewer.ReportSource property.
Why does it takes so long to load/execute ? Is there something implied with registry keys or Internet access ? Is there a way to speed up things ?

I know that the CR10 runtime was built on win32 and while I knew that the .Net version of the runtime would be slower due to the Framework and .Net architecture, we did not expect such differences between the two methods.
You are right that the hardware could play a great factor here, but since I work on this machine for a few years now and I saw the performance from the old CRPE32.dll and the new .Net counterpart, I am really surprised that there is such a difference. Most of our customers have entry-level desktops and our application always ran well on it, until now.
So, if it is the way that the CR 2008 runtime works, do you know if your developpers optimized this part with the next version (CR 2010) or it is based on the same engine ?

My reports use to work but now i'm getting the following error on all reports in all the applications on my server

Load Balancing Crystal Reports 10

Is load balancing Crystal Reports 10 supported? I have heard that it isn't and wanted to either confirm or un-confirm that statement.
If Load Balancing is supported what are the scenarios that would be supported?

CR 10 is out of support and not enough info.
Why would you want to load balance Crystal Reports? Only one user can open the Report Designer to edit a report. Or have you figured out how to have more than one person using one computer at the same time? If so then refer to the licensing PDF file, each user must have his own copy of Crystal Reports installed or a keycode per user.
So No, Crystal Reports does not support load balancing.
But of course my answer is only answering what you asked.... which is likely not what you mean.

If you have your AppPool set for 32 bit then install the 32 bit runtime, if it's set for 64 bit then install the 64 bit runtime.

BW Query does not load to Crystal Report

Hi,
I'm trying to create a Crystal Report based on existing SAP BW queries. I followed the steps provided after installing the SAP Integration Kit. Checked 'Use MDX driver with support for multiple structures'.
On SAP menu > Create New Report from a Query.
Managed to login to the SAP server using my Logon credentials. Select the BW query and click OK.
The problem I have here is that the query never loads into Crystal Report with the Field Explorer. The cursor shows that the query is loading. I've tried on two different queries and it never loads unfortunately.
Please let me know if I missed out any steps or there are some issues with the connectivity. Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated. Thank you.

Wow, just posting and it seems that there is a solution that is working for me...
What I've did is I turned off iTunes Match on my iPhone, then turned in on again. Now in my iTunes library on my mac I can get the duplicates to be matched or uploaded to iCloud with a right-click, add to iCloud. iTunes Match starts to check the songs and everything is done correctly. Pretty nice!

Will loading V2011 break Report Generation in V2010?

My report generation toolkit seems to have stopped working almost entirely.
In V2010, the example "Generate Report From Template(Word).vi" will go as far as loading the Word file. After that it reports the error:
(Error 1 occurred at NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:ex_RGT_Append Anything To Report.vi -> NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:subMS Office Report Block.vi -> Generate Report From Template (Word).vi:MS Office Report.vi-> Generate Report From Template (Word).vi while processing the chart input.)
Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW: An input parameter is invalid. For example if the input is a path, the path might contain a character not allowed by the OS such as ? or @.
My application which was working a week ago is providing the same error message.
From scratch I tried making a small word template file and a vi to work with the template which also provided the same error
I loaded the same example into V2011 and with some modifications indicated by error messages, I ran the program and it will not load the file and simply reports Error 7 that it cannot find the file.
Has my loading V2011 broken the report generation toolkit?
I have had to go back to using V2010 due to other reasons, so I need to have 2010 working.
Shall I uninstall 2011 and 2010 and then reinstall 2010? (all day job I would like to avoid)
Is it possible to uninstall and reinstall the toolkit to repair the problem? (I've tried once and I am not sure that uninstall worked as the messages resulting from an install from the NI disc reported no uninstall and no install)
In the attached zip file is the example as well as the word.doc and .dot files from V2010.

I have tried running your VIs on my computer running 2011 and they work fine. Can I just confirm that the issue you are seeing is present in both LabVIEW 2010 and LabVIEW 2011?
My first recommendation would be to try and repair the 2011 LabVIEW version. This can be done through the 'Programs and Features' within the control panel. The dialog box will be available when you select National Instruments within 'Programs and Features'. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
What version of the Report Generation Toolkit are you using?
Let me know if the repair of LV2011 goes. If it doesn't fix the problem let me know and I will look into this further for you.

I have a FPN configured. I have a BI Portal, which hosts all BI Content.
I am accessing the BI reports in central consumer Portal using remote roles. Everything works fine, then suddenly, we experience a problem opening one of the report through consumer Portal.
Consumer Portal shows a Loading... Message and the report never comes up.
If I test the same report throuigh Producer Portal it works fine. The complete FPN setting were working fine till yesterday. Nothing changed, still we are facing this issue. This is happening for a specific role. All other roles are working fine.
Has anyone else experienced this issue.

Images are not loaded while displaying report using Report Viewer with JRC!

Hi Everybody,
I created a Report designed using CR XI.
I am viewing that report from my application using JRC and crystal Report Viewer and PDF viewer.
In PDF viewer everything is fine including images display, saving etc.
But in Crystal report Viewer, I am not getting the images of the buttons such as export, next page, previous page etc. But all the funtionalities are working.
From where i can load the pictuers and how?
Can anybody help on this?

in bex analyzer, you can display the date with menu business explorer -> display text elements -> general, you will see some info, 'author'... 'last refreshed'.

Cannot load project status report in cprojects on portal

Hi,
I have checked all the FP_* adobe test programs and my ADS is working fine. I did test my form in ECC transaction code sfp and the form loads properly.
But, when I try to load the project status report(same form) through portal (cprojects)it is giving me connection timeout error.
Could somebody guide me?

there can be several reasons why the Statusreport does not come up
a) ACF component is not installed correctly
Check as described in note [766191|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/766191] if the ACF is installed correctly
b) ADS is not set up correctly
Check as described in note [944221|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/944221] if the ADS is installed correctly
c) cProjects config for the status reports is not set up correctly
Check as described in note [978997|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/978997] if your system is set up according to the configuration guide

I would like to retrive some specific reports from the NCS regarding load threshold violation on some specific 1142N accesspoints. Using the alarm browser don´t help me that much because you cant see the history of how many alarms each AP has generated, only cleared alarms. The reason to this is that I would like to see if there is any issues in different system campus with APs that report this alarm.
Most of the APs are associated to maps. The NCS version that I run is 1.0.2.29. WLCs are running 7.0.220.0.
If there is any other way to see this information I´m happy to get that information.

Load Balancing in Report Server

I'm running Reports 6.0 and OAS 4.0.8 and am using client/server legacy forms & reports. I'm calling reports (with parameter file) from a form. I'm calling the form using show.web_product and paramform=html.
My problem is that I can't get the server queue to accept more than 1 job at a time. The load balancing features of OAS/Reports means that there has to be at least 20 or so reports queueing (source - Oracle Support) before a new engine will switch in - even if you specified more than one minimum at start-up. If a report is running everybody has to wait for it to finish. That includes those waiting for the parameter screen as this has to be created by the report server as well.
As we are running an intranet with less than 300 users it's unlikely that we are going to get the throughput. I've tried saturating the queue with small scheduled jobs (which do invoke new engines) but these engines disappear as soon as the job is finished.
The only work round is to recreate the parameter forms in a web form. Something that is going to take a lot of effort given the number of reports that already have parameter forms.
Has anybody else come across this? You can't all be General Motors or BP..
