Load attribute data

hi bw experts,
I have one requirements like i need to enhance the filed to the zcost infoobject with PROFIT_CTR as navigation attribute. then i have to upload the attribute data from 0COSTCENTER .
for that i nedd to create the processchains (daily?weekly?)
all the above things tobe done on BI7.0.
please any body tell the step by step procedure.
pls give the step by stpe procedure for loading data in BI7.0.
what i meant to say infosource,datsource,dtp,transfermation etc.

Hi Amith,
Below are the basic steps which we follow in any BI 2004S system:
1)Create datasource. Here u can set/check the Soucre System fields.
2)Create Transformation for that datasource. (no more update rules/transfer rules)
2.1) While creating transformation for DS it will ask you for data target name, so just assign where u want to update ur data.
DataSource -> Transformation -> Data Target
Now if you want to load data into data target from Source System Datasource:
1) Create infopackage for that data source. If you are creating infopackage for new datasources, it will only allow you update upto PSA, all other options u can see as disabled.
2)Now Create DTP (Data Transfer Process) for that data source.
3) NOw schdule the Infopackage, once the data is loaded to PSA, you can execute your DTP which will load data to data target.
If you are loading data from one one data target to other, no need to use PSA, you can directly execute DTP in that case.
Data Source -> Transformation (IP/DTP) -> Data Target1 -> DTP ->Data Target 2

Faliure loading attribute data

Hi.
When I was trying to load attribute data in the infoObject through a IP, at first it showed me:
Express document Check Load from InfoSource 0INSP_LOT" received from . . .
Then as I pressed the button inbox, it showed me the following mail:
Check Load from InfoSource 0INSP_LOT , Packet 0INSP_LOT_ATTR
Then I found the following error message associated:
"Syntax error in GP_ERR_RSDGTMPLIR, row 464 (-> long text)"
Then something more:
*"The data object "L_S_PTAB" does not have a component called "PRIORITY".
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jammel,
Check the datasource in R/3 side , it seems the data type is missing for the component called 'PRIORITY'.
Also check in SM37 for the job logs and ST22 in R/3 side..

Loading attribute data via data source and file

Hi gurus,
My issue is that when I load excel file(2-column: matnr and werks) and load to master data via IP and DTP. After successful upload all available attriubute values which are retrieved from 0material_attr are gone away. Maybe deleted somehow.
This is my issue.
Can you help me which is the method loading some columns via sap extractor and one lıne via excel upload?

Hello Eddy,
I believe, the reason of getting your old data removing might be you are using the Full Upload via the Excel. In that recent excel you are not haviing the old records .
Check the files and as suggested by raman ,if you have any changes in your master data then better to make delta relevant data source.

Simple basic question on attribute data load for Master Data InfoObject....

I am a bit confused & wanted to have some clarification on the following:
1) For loading Attributes data to Master Data InfoObject, we load it through Data Source of Type Master Data Attribute.
But what i did, i created Data Source of type Transaction data and using the same Excel file, i was able to create transformation with Matser data Attribute and was able to load the data.
This shows i can use Data source of type either master data attribute OR Transaction Data doen't matter while loading into master data attribute. IS THIS TRUE?
2) I have 2 master data infoobjects (Test1 & Test2). I made Test2 as an attribute in Test1.
My question is while loading Master data for Test1, will it also load the data into Test2 if it doen't find respective data in Test2?
(i did all the transformation as per need.)

HI Harpal,
1. Did you make a transformation between attribute data source from source system other than flat file and DSO?...
I think PC File is flexible in this aspect..
2.While loading Test1 the infoobject Test2 will get loaded only if it is a navigational ttribute..(You can see this by refering the SID Table)
Please also note that it does not load Test2 attributes.

Issue while loading master data from BI7 to BPC

Dear Experts,
I'm trying to load master data from BI7 to BPC NW using scenario 2 mentioned in the below document.

My requirement is need to load 0GL_ACCOUNT attribute and text data from BI7 system to BPC.
1.As mentioned in the How to...doc I had created a dimension called GL_ACCOUNT using BPC Admin client .
2.Able to see GL_ACCOUNT in RSA1, when I try to create a Transformation(step 17 , page-40) to load Attribute data I could not find source of transformation object as 0GL_ACCOUNT(which exist in BI7) . I could only able to see only dimensions available in BPC system when I click F4 in Name.
What could be the reason to not getting BI infoobject as source in BPC?

Dear Gurus,
My issue got resolved. So far I'm trying to pull data from R/3>BW>BPC. In the existing land scape BW and BPC are 2 different boxes. That is the reason I couldn't able to see BW objects into BPC (since 2 are different boxes). To resolve the issue I have created a new infoobect (RSD1) in BPC and data loading is from R/3>BPC infoobject(which is created through RSD1)>BPC Dimension.

How to load text data from multiple source systems.

Hello Gurus,
I am facing an issue of loading master data text into 0Material. I have loaded attribute data from 2 source systems. But i am not able load text data from the same 2 source systems as i am not able to see 0logsys in transfermation rules of 0MATERIAL.
Please gimme some inputs to proceed.

Hi,
I dont think that you need the source system info here, texts are mapped to attributs and attributs to source systems.
so try to load simply:
material key, text, lang (optional)

DTP : Moving attribute data from PSA to InfoObject

I am loading attribute data from a flat file to InfoObject. The data gets to PSA alright but when I create and execute DTP I get an error saying
Runtime error : MESSAGE_TYPE_X
Error Analysis : Join table TESTDATRNRPART0 does not exist. read SAP note 871084.
Can someone pls help me trace why I had this error as well as where I can find SAP note 871084 .

Please find below excerpt of the SAP note you mentioned.
The system issues a runtime error with X_MESSAGE and error message RSM 073. The message refers to this note.
Other terms
RSSM_CHECK_CREATE_JOINTABLES, join tables, dump, short dump, RSM 073
Reason and Prerequisites
The problem is caused by a program error.
Solution
Execute the RSSM_CHECK_CREATE_JOINTABLES report in your BW system (Transaction SA38 or SE38). The report is delivered with Support Package 5.
BW 7.0
Import Support Package 05 for 7.0 (BW7.0 patch 05 or SAPKW70005) into your BW system. The Support Package is available when Note 0829625 "SAPBWNews BW 7.0 Support Package 05", which describes this Support Package in more detail, is released for customers.
Caution:
If you have imported Support Package 6 or a higher Support Package in your system, the report is obsolete and the runtime error should no longer occur with message RSM 073 since in this case, the tables TESTDATRNRPART0 to TESTDATRNRPART9 are delivered in the DDIC.
To provide advance information, the note mentioned above may be available before the Support Package is released. In this case, the short text of the note still contains the words "Preliminary version".
To be able to effect this solution, you need SP5 in BI7.0.
To check your current system status, go to menu System--->status, on the bottom of the window, beneath the component version field you will see a box with magnifier icon, if you click on it , you will see all the software components that have been installed in your system, here in SAP_BW row you can find the current patch level of your BW component.
eg: SAPKW70016 here 16 is the patch level. To run the above program , you need patch level above 5.

Question
If tyere are no attributes for infoobject and master data is checked does it make any sense to load attributes data.
It is having text data and datasource and no attribute datasource.
What will happen if I remove check for master data.

If you remove the check then You <b>cant</b> load any master data for it :). that is you wont get the attribute tab. You cant add attributes

Error while loading master data to attribute ZMAJORGU(Major organisational unit)

While loading master data to ZMAJORGU(MOU)(info object texts) from datasource (ZOS_HRP1000)datasource iam getting error in DTP.
below is the error...
Diagnosis
    Data record 349 & with the key 'Ship &' is invalid in value 'Ship &' of
    the attribute/characteristic ZMAJORGU &.
System Response
    The system has recognized that the value mentioned above is invalid, and
    has processed this general error message. A subsequent message may give
    you more information on the error. This message refers to the same
    value, even though it does not state this explicitly.
Procedure
    If this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in
    the PSA maintenance screens. If this message appears in the master data
    maintenance screens, leave the transaction and call it again. This
    allows you to maintain your master data.

I have done the following regarding the issue ....Looking at the error i have gone trough the transformation and i didnt find any routines or formuales
I have checked the PSA and down loaded the data to spread sheet and put a filter on SHORT and STEXT assuming i will find the value
'Ship &' as mentioned in the Diagnosis description. However i was not able to find the relavent data(i went to se16 gave teh request ID from PSA and displayed the entire data)tarting with Ship .The closest value i could find in both the fileds was was AVP Shipment .
I have the following questions
1)In the screen short 2 it says record number 349 is it right to go to PSA table and check against the record number 349(i tried that but i was not able to find the error against that record)
2)why am i not finding the value 'Ship' in PSA ...but this is the value wich is creating a poblem in updating to the target ....does it mean the record value is Ship or it starts with Ship or is ir part of some word?
Please find the attached PSA data file (u have to convert it to Excel)
I request people to help me analyse the issue and fix the issue.

I checked other records as well they were a lot of smallcharecters upper case charectres ,numeric special charecters .but nothing stopped ...when the system is even accpeting all other charectres like smallof caps or numeric... why on this record is creating an issue...
please have a look at error stack
and i have one more question when i look at PSA there are close to 300000 records
but when i do an SE16 with request id i see only close to one lakh records (i came to conclusion b dragging down and the last record number was (below screen shot)
Can you tell me what my mistake is numebr or records are not tallying in SE16 and PSA..

Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes error

Hi experts,
We were encountering this error before when trying to load master data. When we checked the system we could not find any locks at the time, and activation or kicking off the attribute change run failed again. We finally solved the problem running FM RSDDS_AGGR_MOD_CLOSE which sets the close flag to 'X' in table RSDDAGGRMODSTATE. I have read that it is possible this lock error happens when two change runs happen at the same time.
My question are:
1. is it possible to find out what process exactly "caused" the lock? the table RSDDAGGRMODSTATE does not have a reference to any object or job. I am curious as we are trying to find ways to avoid this in the future...
2. in our case, when we could not find any locks, is running this fm the only work around? is this a best practice?

I have had this problem in the past (3.0B) --> the reason is that our system was too slow and could not crunch the data fast enough, therefore packets where loacking each other.
The fix: load the data into the PSA only, and then send it in background from the PSA to the info object. By doing this, only a background process will run, therefore locks cannot happen.
Fix#2: by a faster server (by faster, I mean more CPU power)
Now, maybe you have another issue with NW2004s, this was only my 2 cents quick thought

Where to set lock while loading master data attributes

Hello Experts,
I have two different datasources from ECC which loads into 0CUST_SALES attributes. I'm using two different DTP & transformation which are loading data in the this infoobject attributes.
When i try to load data, the DTP fails with an error message at "Updating attributes for InfoObject 0CUST_SALES Processing Terminated" & the job log says: "Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes".
Here what exactly LOCK means?

Hi,
The lock means that some program is updating the master data (a table) and at the same time other program can not update that same master data. When the first program completes the updation it will release the lock so that the other program can update this.
In your case you and schedule the DTP one after another.

Cant fully load updated data to Master data attribute

Hi BW expert,
I meet an issue here, I am not able to load updated data to master data attribute. My loading selection is based on employee number range.
e.g employee number 00001 to 10000
However the data is successfully loaded to master data but lot of the attribute data are not updated. e.g 056, 057, 098, 0100.
I checked in PSA, there is no data updated for the attribute.
I checked in RSA3 in R/3, there are attribute data extracted.
Please advice, why attribute data is not updated when I load it in a range number. The attribute only work when I load one employee number.

Attribute data load fails for 0RPA_MARM Infoobject

Hi BW experts,
Attribute data load to the infoobject 0RPA_MARM(not a infoprovider) is on yellow status for long time and after it is throwing the below error
Runtime Errors :UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
Except : CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE
I checked the forums for this issue but got the solution for target as infoprovider.
Please suggest.

Hi Leo,
Basically loading data into Master data Infoobject and making it InfoProvider are two different things. Loading data in Master data infoobject will be same for all the Infoobjects and when you make them as Infoprovider you will get an advantage of doing reporting directly on top of that Infoobject.

Loading transaction data using an attribute field in the BW cube

I am trying to load transaction data into BPC. All but one of my dimensions are referencing technical fields. One of my fields is referencing an attribute of a technical field. The technical field is called 0MAT_PLANT and the attribute of that field is 0PROFIT_CTR. In my mapping section of my transaction file I set the PROFIT_CTR dimension to 0MAT_PLANT__0PROFIT_CTR. The transaction file validates and processes fine but when I try to import I get the error message: 0MAT_PLANT__0PROFIT_CTR is not a valid command or column 0MAT_PLANT__0PROFIT_CTR does not exist in source
Does anyone know how to complete this successfully?

Hi,
If is mapped fine and still getting same errors, maybe you can try to check if the IO attribute it's checked in the options in the data package.
