can i take a concert dvd and load it to itunes so i can put it on my ipod 80g?

If it's a commercial DVD, legally, you can't. The terms of use of these forums prohibit us from discussing methods. Sorry.

I have tried to load both the cd/dvd that is 2-sided and one that is one-sided onto the itunes and the 2-sided one is not recognized at all. The one-sided one started to import, but got stuck on the first song and never fully imported it or any others.

Actually there is no problem loading regular audio cd's - the problem is with one particular disc that is an audio cd on one side and if you physically flip it over, the other side is a dvd. Here is the result of running the cd diagnostic off of itunes help, with that cd in:

I use "Mac DVD Ripper Pro" to rip the DVD to my iMac (not free but works well), then use handbrake to convert to a iTunes friendly format (just use the AppleTv 2 preset).
I do it this way so i can rip several, and then load all of them into the handbrake queue and let it process them over night.
Then i use iDentity to add the metadata to the file and add to iTunes.

Hi Andy, yes it's a paid Upgrade...
First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

I loaded more songs into Itunes. How can I move them to my IPhone?

When I connect my Iphone to Itunes, I see a music folder under the IPhone icon in the left column but clicking on that shows the list of songs already on my IPhone. How do I move the new songs loaded onto the IPhone without erasing the songs already on the IPhone. I need to do a "merge" somehow. Advice please...

You need to select the iPhone 'device' (not the Music section underneath it which just shows what is already on the device) and then select the Music tab that will appear on the right-hand side of iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351
You can also just highlight the new songs in your iTunes music library, and drag-and-drop them over to the iPhone device.

You sync music the same way as on the Classic. What you sync to an iPod does not effect the iTunes library on your computer.

I just got a 80gb Ipod classic as an upgrade from a 4th gen nano and am trying to upload movies onto itunes for the first time, but cant. I've tried inserting the movie with itunes on like I do cds, nothing. I've tried importing or adding folders like I would do to add multiple cds, ad still nothing happens.The dialog/choosing boxes close, but itunes doesnt do anything. Please someone tell me what I have to do to upload my movies to take on trips. Thats the whole reason I got the 80gb instead of just getting a new nano.

If you mean commercially released films or TV shows on DVD I'm afraid that can't be discussed as that involves breaking the encryption on them (you can't simply import a DVD into iTunes, they are copy protected). I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

8.1 will not load the dvd driver error 39

The dvd played with no problem in 8, worked fine. I loaded 8.1 now it will not load the driver, says error 39. I uninstalled and reinstalled still the same. I got a external working DVD, plugged it in and the same code, same problem. windows
8.1 does not load the DVD driver.
what is the fix I understand it 8 does not play dvd movies, video this does not even recognize the player for music CD

When adding music to iTunes, you can set it to either make a local copy of the file, or simply point to the original location of the file (for example, on an external hard drive). If it is set to do the latter, it will not be able to play or transfer those files when the external hard drive is not plugged in. You may find the following article helpful:
