Loading multiple swf's in runtime and playing them one after other

Hi,
I am looking for help in loading multiple swf's as a playlist and playing them one after other on top of the other, so here even we have to play with display list for the visiblity.
Tried to load single files but not getting for multiple files, what will be the event with which the dynamically loaded swf switch to other.These file names will be mentioned in XML file.
Please let me know your thoughts and will be greatfull if anybody can help with the script or any kind of tutorials.

First of all am thanking you for showing your kind intrest towards this thread, and appreciate for spending time to work out this issue.
I will explain you in deatil the issue what am facing,I am working on a project where basically dealing with flv player and videos, am trying to play multiple flv videos of a 3d human character who is speaking out a number like 3550.
Here we are using multiple video files and joining them like videos where character says 3 then 1000 then  5 then 50.
The issue here is after every video there is a fraction of second where the character is disappearing from the stage which we can't afford because all the numbers have to be played at once to show it as one single digit.
So thought of trying swf's instead of flv so that we can omit the gap between the numbers, but even in this swf's also having same issue for a fraction of second the character is missing from the stage.
I am looking for a solution to this, either the way can work out as flv or swf.For flv am trying to edit some player where we can remove the delay between the clips.
I am attaching new swf where the character is speaking 3 numbers like 3,1000,40.You can notice there is a flicker between the swf's.
Can we use Display list with which we can omit that gap.

  • Playing multiple movie clips one after other on main timeline

    Excuse the probably simple question but I'm just starting off with Flash.
    I have imported a few video trailers directly into flash and saved them as movie clips.
    I want to be able to insert these movie clips onto the main timeline and play them one after the other, repeating once they have all played.
    On the main timeline I have set a layer for each clip and a keyframe where the clip is inserted for each layer.
    When I go to play the flash file, it is showing the first frame from each movie file and then moving to the first frame of the next movie file.
    What do I need to do to make flash play the entire movie file in that specific frame before moving to the next frame where the next movie file is and playing all that movie?
    Sorry for what is probably a simple thing to ask.

    Create an actions layer on the main timeline and place stop(); commands on that layer in each frame where a movieclip resides.
    Within in each movieclip, at the end (last frame) you want to tell the main timeline to play(); so that it moves to the next frame (where it will stop because of the stop() commands you add).
    So at the end of each movieclip you will put either:
    for AS2:  _parent.nextFrame();
    for AS3: MovieClip(parent).nextFrame();
    For the last movieclip in the lineup you will replace nextFrame() with gotoAndStop(1);

    I subscribe to a few podcasts that are "song of the day" They download and I play the songs but I would like to play them one after the other like I do with normal songs in my library.
    I play one song then have to go back in iTunes and click to play the next ...
    I try highlighting a bunch and no luck. Then made a playlist of the podcast songs and again only one will play.

    actually I have both I have a Classic in my car, and a video one for travel. Both have the same issue but since it turns out they handle this differently, I wanted to know if the workaround posted for the Classic might have a counterpart in the video one... Thanks again!

    I need some help. I want to use several swf files and have them be called upon in a container file and play them in sequence. It's a presentation that needs to play thru but still have the ability to stop, click on items, open a popup and then continue on in the presentation. I am building all the individual "chapters" and their "sub-chapters" as swf files, with the hope that I can load them in order. I am relatively new to AS3. Help?

    If you will be loading swf files into a container then you will use the Loader class to accomplish that, so give that a looking over in the help documents and see what you can do.  If you have a problem getting it to work, post your code and describe what you have done.

  • Flash player 10.3.181.14 broke my site, loading multiple swfs into an array

    I load multiple swfs into an array, I add and remove the objects on the stage, this is for a rotating carousel.
    All the items locations are established in xml. If I only have one item loaded into the array it works fine, if I have more then one it will not a) play the swf, or b) show the swf.
    The swfs themselves contain code that fire events in the main container. Which cause other items to play or load.
    Is anyone else having this issue?

    There are some workarounds I found on there.
    ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
    I was having a similar issue using a loading component which i've been using for several years with no issues. As with you the issue arose when loading multiple swfs (or even one swf and then a jpg) on 10.3 and above. It works fine on 10.2 and below still.
    I found a workaround whilst I look for a proper answer and that is to delay subsequent loads using a hacky setTimeout.
    For example:

    setTimeout(loadNext, 1);
    // following line breaks the gotoAndStop of loaded swfs.
    // loadNext();

    Adobe, can you please provide us with the code to load multiple swf files for ios. Please provide examples. The code below loads multiple swfs, but the swfs stall, so this does not seem to be a solution.

    I've just tried loading, unloading and then loading again same SWF with 2 library objects linked for AS3 export. It worked both on simulator and on device in debug mode. When I look inside swf it does contain AS3 code.
    So is my swf a pure asset SWF? Or Intellij Idea 12 that I'm using does stripping automatically?
    And then I've read your comment at http://forums.adobe.com/message/5217325#5217325 and run 'swfdump' utility on my .swf file. Looks like there's no ABC2 code, that's why app was able to load, unload and load again the same swf.

    Hello folks...
    I have some serious problem with loading multiple swfs in a
    swfLoader whithin an application...
    The problem is that... every time I load another swf in a
    swfloader,
    the memory that the Internet Explorer uses justs keeps going
    up and up
    and one time (maybe after 15 - 20 minutes) it just crashes...
    To be more specific, my application loads a new swf in a
    regular basis (every 30 seconds)
    to make it like a slideshow...
    and it also has fonts embedded in it
    yet to minimize the total memory used by this application,
    I've did somthing like this...

    What if my SWF loads external content from an online server?
    Not only does the current flash player prohibit such activity, it doesn't even pop open an error anymore saying there was an error connecting to an online source.
    Normally, I would simply drag the SWF into Flash and all connections would go through.  I could see traces, errors, and experience no issues.
    Now I can't even do that.  So what then?  You have crippled a fundamental use of the program, but THANK GOD we have that deco brush that nobody asked for.
    And for the record, the nature of my work benefits from not necessarily allowing the Flash Player to connect to online content.  The error it pops up?  That's simply another method of error checking that I require.  Updating the Flash Player options is not an option.
    Why would you even remove this key feature from Flash anyways?  It's been there for years ... has the ratio of people importing SWFs (a rather useless gesture in an increasing OOP world) really outweighed the people using Flash as a testing environment that much?

    I am working on an interactive book and have set up each page as a separate composition in edge.
    I am using  the edge commons JS library to load multiple compositions into a main composition.

    The way the edge commons tutorial is set up requires a button for each composition i want to load.     Please suggest a solution that will work without adding additional scripts beyond edge commons and jquery.

    Make sure all of the videos used in the project that is having that problem are from the same event. If they are from multiple events, move them all into one event.

    Yes, the file extension is M4R.  Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook?  I then opened them in Itunes and played them.  I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes).  When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty.  Thanks in advance for your help.

  • New and stupid. I need to capture video clips and play them on an iPad2.

    I've been searching the internet for hours and I can't find an easy way to do this.  I am working on a project for my boss so this is crucial. 
    I have three large video files.  I need to several capture portions of each video and get them onto his iPad so he can view them. 
    The video files are currently in .asf format.  I downloaded Windows Live Movie Maker and can edit the videos in that program, but I cannot convert them into a proper format with this program.  So, I found a program online that will convert the clips into mpeg4 format.  I can convert them, view and play them in iTunes but I can't transfer them to his iPad.
    Personally, I have an iPhone 4 and I am fairly computer literate so I have an understanding of the iPad and can function quite well on my computer.  But, I just can't get this to work. 
    Please help. 

    I am sorry about the VLC suggestion.They do have an Ipad version(http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-ios.html) but probably for Jailbroken units only.
    In my defense of poor research i have to say that some time ago it was actually possible to download it from the app store which is why i have VLC on my old Ipod.
    If you have to convert i can recommend "handbrake" which is actually a free ripper but it will convert many file formats into predefined settings for different gadgets amongst them Ipad.
