Loading servlet parameter differences between weblogic 8.1 and 6.1
While migrating an application from weblogic 6.1 to weblogic 8.1 i have noticed
that a servlet wasn't able to load some parameters. These parameters are context
parameters; setting them as init parameters let the servlet to load smoothly.
So here it is my question:
is it possible that weblogic 6.1 loads also context parameters during servlet
initialization???
Greets,
Luca
In order for someone to help you, you'd have to show exactly what you're trying to do, both in your parameter-reading code, and in the descriptor.
As far as your actual question at the end of your note, I'm not even sure exactly what you're asking.

What is the difference between WebLogic Server users and Portal users
Hi All
What is the difference between users created in the WebLogic server and those
created from the webLogic Portal Admin console.
- leoHi Leo,
The WebLogic server console allows you to create users in the File realm (
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/adminguide/cnfgsec.html#1057106 , "Defining
Users" ).
The WebLogic Portal Admin console creates Portal users in the alternate security
realm that was written to store user/password in the Portal schema. This realm is
com.bea.p13n.security.realm.RDBMSRealm. See the javadoc for RDBMSRealm at (
http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/javadoc/wlp/com/bea/p13n/security/realm/RDBMSRealm.html
For information on alternate security realms see
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/security/prog.html#1041025 , "Writing a Custom
Security Realm".
For information on the File realm see
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/ConsoleHelp/security.html , "Security" and also
search the WLS 6.1 docs for "File realm" for lots of other references.

Differences between Weblogic Server and Weblogic Server Suite?
Hi
What is the differences between Weblogic Server and Weblogic Server Suite, beside licens costs?
Regards
/MartinWebLogic server standard edition, you get the WebLogic with no clustering.
Clustering is available in the WebLogic Enterprise Edition.
The WebLogic Suite also gives you Coherence and JRockit real-time

Difference between ECC 6.0 and earlier versions
Hi,
one of the difference between ECC 6.0 and earlier versions is that instead 'WS_UPLOAD' and 'WS_DOWNLOAD' in ECC we should use 'GUI_UPLOAD' and 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' respectively.
(of course SPDD and SPRO tcodes is known by everone i suppose)
Similarly can u all put down some differences here, atleast one entry by each, I think we can make a good docu. I have searched the net for the differences but could not get much, so by each of us contributing one each, it would become good docu..for all of us.
Thanx in advanceUnicode Errors Encountered and their Solutions
E1. In u201CTEXT MODEu201D the u201CENCODINGu201D addition must be specified.
Error:
OPEN DATASET FILE FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE.
Solution:
OPEN DATASET FILE FOR OUTPUT IN LEGACY TEXT MODE.
E2. In Unicode, DESCRIBE DISTANCE can only be used with the IN BYTE MODE or IN
CHARACTER MODE addition.
Error:
DESCRIBE DISTANCE BETWEEN T_KOMK AND T_KOMK-HIEBO01 INTO BPOS.
Solution:
DESCRIBE DISTANCE BETWEEN T_KOMK AND T_KOMK-HIENR01 INTO BPOS
IN CHARACTER MODE.
E3. u201CUSR02-UFLAGu201D must be a byte-type field (Typ X or XSTRING )
Error:
IF USR02-UFLAG O YULOCK.
Solution: Since the data type of USR02-UFLAG is type INT and is compared with data type
X u2013 Hence the error. So we define a new variable ZULOCK and assign the
value of USR02-UFLAG to ZULOCK.
New variable
DATA: ZULOCK(1) TYPE X. "APBRP00
Assign value
ZULOCK = USR02-UFLAG.

IF ZULOCK = YULOCK. u201Creplace IF USR02-UFLAG O YULOCK.
E4. HT cannot be converted to a Character type field
Error :
WRITE ht TO t_data+10(2).
Solution : Since the data type of ht is a type u2018Xu2019 and the data is been transfer to
t_data which has a data type u2018Cu2019. value of one data type cannot be copy to
another data type where one of them is type string .Hence the error occur,
so the data type of ht is been change to Type u2018Cu2019

A Tab ( value 09 ) is introduced as part of the row. The value 09 is not converted in Unicode environment. Instead we need to use class
Error:
DATA: BEGIN OF ht,
x(1) TYPE x VALUE '09',
END OF ht.
Solution:
Define Class after the Tables definition.
CLASS cl_abap_char_utilities DEFINITION LOAD.
Data Defination : Comment internal table HT and define a variable HT type C.
* Insert + APRIA00 05/02/2007 Unicode project
* DATA: BEGIN OF ht,
* x(1) TYPE x VALUE '09'

Before using HT assign Horizontal tab.
Ht = CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB.
E5. In Unicode programs the u201C#u201D cannot appear in names, as it is does here in the name u201C#LINESu201D

concatenate 'Material' 'Package Status'
into z_download-line separated by tab.
( In the above command the two field are to be separated with a horizontal Tab. The earlier way of assigning the tab value u201809u2019 will not work in Unicode environment.
Solution:
Define a class just after the Table defination.
CLASS cl_abap_char_utilities DEFINITION LOAD.
Define variable Tab as shown below :
Data : TAB TYPE C.
Before the concatenate statement assign the value of Tab using pre-defined attributes.
TAB = CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB.
E8. Upload/Ws_Upload and Download/Ws_Download are obsolete, since they are not Unicode-

What is the difference between qued delta update and serialized delta upda
what is the difference between qued delta update and serialized delta update?
Hi Ks Reddy,
Queued Delta:
In case of Queued delta LUW's are posted to Extractor Queue (LBWQ), by scheduling the V3 job we move the documents from Extractor queue to Delta Queue(i.e. RSA7) and we extract the LUW's from Delta Queue to BW side by running Delta Loads. Generally we prefer Queued Delta as it maintain the Extractor Log which us to handle the LUW's which are missed.
Direct Delta:
In case of Direct Delta LUW's are directly posted to Delta Queue(i.e. RSA7) and we extract the LUW's from Delta Queue to BW side by running Delta Loads. If we use Direct Delta it degrades the OLTP system performance because when LUW's are directly posted to Delta Queue (RSA7) the application is kept waiting untill all the enhancement code is executed.
Non-serialized V3 Update:With this update mode, the extraction data for the application considered is written as before into the update tables with the help of a V3 update module. They are kept there as long as the data is selected through an updating collective run and are processed. However, in contrast to the current default settings (serialized V3 update), the data in the updating collective run are thereby read without regard to sequence from the update tables and are transferred to the BW delta queue.

what is the Difference between ? new Operator and Class.forName() ??? ........Class.forName(), takes the class name as parameter,
and loads that class in memory. But it doesn't create
any instance of that class.
That means static methods/variables are available for
use.
new keyword, checks if the class is loaded, if not
then loads that class, and then creates an instance
of that class.Class.forName actually returns the class object for that name (class - for -name). it might load it, if the class hasn't already been loaded, but it's misleading to say that's what that method does
your definition of 'new' is wrong, too. give the dukes back -
Difference between Installing an application and Deploying and application
What is the Difference between Installing an application and Deploying and application from the console?
When deploying and app from console - > Click on deployments -> Install -> choose app path, next, next,.. Finish.
Then it will be in prepared state. Once you activate changes, the app deployed will be in activate state. Some times even if you activate changes, it will be in prepared state. then you need to start the app which then comes to activate state.
From above, which part is called Installing an app? Which part is called deploying an app?
Or Are Install and Deploy both mean same?
Edited by: user734247 on Apr 26, 2012 3:16 PMInstallation is generally referred to making an application's physical file or directory known/accessible to WebLogic Server by configuring through the "New" option in the "Deployments" screen and targeting the servers. Installation of an application will put the status of the application in "prepared" state.
Start is the next action expected so that the application's state transforms into "ACTIVE" by initializing the application and loading the necessary classes and creating the necessary objects to run the application.
The above two steps together are referred to as "Deployment of an application"
Bottomline: In short, "Deploying an application" includes "Installation of the application" AND "Activation/Start of the application"

What is difference between ADF Task Flow and Faces-Config - when delpoy ?
What is difference between ADF Task Flow and Faces-Config? When I create navigation between pages with ADF task flow then the navigation don't work when I deploy my application to Weblogic 10.3. When I use default server then navigation works fine. With Faces_config in both situations all works ok - on Stanalone server and default.
Where is the problem?
Best regards!Shay, I don't use both faces-config and adf task flow! When I failed with task flow I tried faces-config.
I have active on my weblogic - adf.oracle.domain(1.0,11.1.1.0.0). This is the right ADF? If yes then where is the problem?
Best regards! -

Since it looks like you're trying to set up the sample schemas, is there a reason that you wouldn't just run the sample schema setup scripts on the destination database? Why are you using Data Pump in the first place?

Purchase price difference between SAP R/3 and BWI report
Hi
Purchase price difference between SAP R/3 and BWI report
What is purchase price variance ?, my user is telling that in SAP R/3, purchase price variance 100 and in BWI report it is 200 .
Any other terminologies are there for purchase price variance ?
And any idea wherefrom BWI will take this purchase price variance ?
Thanks In advancePurchase price variance is he difference in price between the amount paid to the supplier and the planned or standard cost of that item
Request you to check your data first in your Cube/ODS, better would be to check in the data container where the data is first loaded.
Also check if this field is getting directly loaded as 1-to-1 mapping. -

Difference between Wsus 3.0 and Wsus 4.0
Hi all,
I would like to know what are differences between Wsus 3.0 and Wsus 4.0.
I have already notice that for Local Publishing, the method IPublisher.PublishPackage(sourcePath,
additionalSourcePath, packageDirectoryName), totally ignore the "additionalSourcePath" parameter.
Are there any documentation or web site where I can find differences between Wsus 3.0 and 4.0 ?
Thanks.

Wsus Third-Party Softwares Publishing :
http://wsuspackagepublisher.codeplex.comI would like to know what are differences between Wsus 3.0 and Wsus 4.0.
The differences between WSUS v3 and WSUS v6 (please note the correct version number) are documented ... somewhere ... but at the moment I can't find them. (Presumably it would be in the Release Notes for Win2012, but that idea is a bust.)
In short, these are the notable distinctions:
WSUS v6 is compiled with the .NET Framework v4
WSUS v6 provides an extended interface for management via PowerShell
WSUS v6 supports SHA256 hashes (which were implemented by the WUAgent v7.8 and rolled back to the WUAgent v7.6 in KB2720211 and WSUS v3.2 in KB2734608)
I have already notice that for Local Publishing, the method IPublisher.PublishPackage(sourcePath, additionalSourcePath, packageDirectoryName), totally ignore the "additionalSourcePath" parameter.
Changes to the API should be reflected in the
SDK.
Also worth of note.. publishing TO a WSUS v6 server must be performed from a Windows Server 2012 system or a Windows 8 system with RSAT. Publishing to a WSUS v6 server from a WSUS v3.2 console cannot be done due to internal dependencies in the Local
Publishing API on the build number of the console and server involved in the publishing process.
