Anybody can help me please? its urgent to us migrate our database to oracle.
Thanks in Advance.

  • Does xcelsius access data model in MS sql server 2000

have the following scenario: I need to create a dashboard which will be accessed through a Microsoft Office SharePoint server portal. This dashboard will be used for analysis of Agencies and Underwriters; they should be able to drill down to policy level details.

    Q) Does Xcelsius work off a relational model or does the data model need to be converted to a Dimensional Star schema?  Do you have to create Cubes?

    Q) It was mentioned in the book that Xcelsius can connect to a Microsoft SharePoint server using web part, however there is no information in the help menu to do that task?

My thought) I was also thinking that the data model build on MS SQL SERVER 2000 can be used to create a Universe, which then can link to Live Office using Query as a Web Service (QAAWS) and used to build Xcelsius model.  (Does one have to go this route, or can one access the data model created on SQL SERVER 2000?)
    Any Feedback)

    A) Xcelsius works on an X/Y (Column/Row) table model, strictly based on the Excel structure.  Though the underlying data model is a table, it is not inherently relational as it does not impose any BC Normal Form requirements.
Xcelsius works primarily with data embedded in an integrated Excel workbook.  Data can be input to the workbook by a variety of methods, from importing a premade Excel workbook into the the model to retrieving data from flat files (.txt, .xml, .etc) to getting data from a connection such as a WebService.
There is no capability to connect directly, 1:1, to a database source and execute SQL queries.  An intermediary is required to retrieve data from a database, such as a WebService or an XML Data connection.

  • Question about load Microsoft JDBC driver for Sql server 2000

    Hello,
I have some problem while trying load the sqlserver2000 jdbc driver
My program is a third party application and it works with the other type 4 JDBC driver well. So I tried to use Microsoft SQL server 2000 JDBC driver instead.
I installed JDBC driver and set up the classpath.
    My error message is:
"Driver class 'com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver' could not be loaded"
Is above message means that my classpath setup correctly but the application could not load the class or the application could not find the jar file which containes the driver class?
By the way, the third party application I was using to load this JDBC driver does not certified to use microsoft JDBC driver. But I don't think it matter?
    Thanks for your help

    Hello,
I have some problem while trying load the
    sqlserver2000 jdbc driver
My program is a third party application and it works
with the other type 4 JDBC driver well. So I tried to
use Microsoft SQL server 2000 JDBC driver instead.
I installed JDBC driver and set up the classpath.
    My error message is:
    "Driver class
    'com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver' could
    not be loaded"
That is an unusual message. Presumably you did not see "NoClassDefFoundError". If you see that it means the class could not be found.
Is above message means that my classpath setup
correctly but the application could not load the class
or the application could not find the jar file which
    containes the driver class?
By the way, the third party application I was using to
load this JDBC driver does not certified to use
microsoft JDBC driver. But I don't think it matter?
It could. Perhaps the app expects a certain functional level and the driver doesn't support that. And so it bails with the message that you see.
Or it could mean that you have do something special because it has its own class path, and the driver is not in that.

  • Problem of loading the Driver of MS SQL Server 2000

Is there anyone in the Sun Forum who will help me?
I have already tried to give the full class path of .jar files to the System and User Variables but received the same error. I am doing BCA and developing my very first Project on Java.
Please, tell me one thing. When I had installed MS SQL Server 2000 at my system first time then the 3 JAR files were present in the lib folder and all my codings of connectivity were working properly. Then due to some reasons, I had to format C drive and installed the MS SQL Server 2000 again then in the lib folder the 3 JAR files were not there. How it has happened? Then, I installed the downloaded driver of MS SQL Server 2000 for JDBC 1.4 then the JAR files were installed in the related downloaded driver folder. I manually copied them to the lib folder of MS SQL Server and gave that path to the Classpath of System and User Variables, but it didn't work.
I am not understanding the reason that The Software which worked previously is not working correctly in second time of installing.
I am using command line to develop my stand-alone project. Please help me.

I have really no idea what in earth "the same error" is which you're talking about. Be specific. Post the exception type, message and stacktrace.

  • How to crete the source system for the SQL Server 2000 to BI 7.1

    Dear All,
We want to extract data from  SQL server 2000 data base to BI 7.1
Please provide us the step-by-step procedure to be followed in BI as well as SQL server 2000 BD
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
You have two options, you can use DB Connect but you need SAP DBSL for SQL Server 2000 and the DB Client and this could be have a additional cost, or you can use UD Connect, that make the connection with Java, using JCo's and the Driver Java for SQL Server 2000, please review this link: [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/58f4db47-0501-0010-a2bf-ff01b150fdff|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/58f4db47-0501-0010-a2bf-ff01b150fdff]
I recomend if you dont have the SAP DBSL and DB Client for SQL Server 2000 that use UD Connect is really useful.

  • IKM MSSQL Incremental Update fails on SQL Server 2000 - Collation Problem

I am having a problem where the the incremental update isn't cabable of updating the table it creates.
In the Flag Rows to Update I get the following error message:
    446 : HY000 : java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]Cannot resolve collation conflict for equal to operation.
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]Cannot resolve collation conflict for equal to operation.
    Source Code is:
    update     S
    set     IND_UPDATE = 'U'
    from     SQRoracleStage..I$_tblOracleStage      S,
         SQRoracleStage..tblOracleStage      T
    where     T.Occurance     = S.Occurance
    and     T.PlanName     = S.PlanName
Oracle has suggested that the IKM be updated to include a COLLATE clause following the column name in the where clause.
    update S
    set IND_UPDATE = 'U'
    from <%=snpRef.getTable("L", "INT_NAME", "A")%> S,
    <%=snpRef.getTable("L", "TARG_NAME", "A")%> T
    where <%=snpRef.getColList("", "T.[COL_NAME]\t= S.[COL_NAME] COLLATE replace_with_server_collation_string", "\nand\t", "", "UK")%>
However this code doesn't retrieve the collation string, but rather expects you to replace the replace_with_server_collation_sting with the value from the server.
Being unfamiliar with SQL Server I would have expected that the model should be capable of determining this value, and that the code should look something similar to:
    update S
    set IND_UPDATE = 'U'
    from <%=snpRef.getTable("L", "INT_NAME", "A")%> S,
    <%=snpRef.getTable("L", "TARG_NAME", "A")%> T
    where <%=snpRef.getColList("", "T.[COL_NAME]\t= S.[COL_NAME] COLLATE <%=snpRef.getServerCollationString("L", "TARG_NAME", "A")%> ", "\nand\t", "", "UK")%>
It seems as though since ODI creates the table dynamically it should be capable of doing an update to it without intervention.
Has anyone found a work around for this issue?

    I found the error :)
    This is what happened:
I copied the tables from the MS SQL Server model to my Oracle model and then generated the DDL, so this gave me a quick set of tables in Oracle identical to the MS SQL database. But what I didn't know was that with the reverse engineer from MS SQL the ODI tool set the primary key columns to READ ONLY (and thus my copied tables also had read only primary key columns). Read only is OK for a source table but devastating for my tables I must load. So when I removed the read only indicator from the Oracle target table pk columns I was again a happy camper !
Thanks for being the one to talk to ! That really helped :)

  • Failed to load Source Model

Trying to load Source Model from MS SQL Server 7.0, getting an error "Failed to load Source Model. [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Line 1: Incorrect syntax near '.7'.". The last entry in the log was "Capturing Loading SS7_SYSFOREIGNKEYS".
This is under Windows 2000 Server. ODBC driver is Microsoft version 3.70.09.61.
I have found the similar issue existed for Sybase, and the solution was to "select the DSN, click on Advanced and select the ODBC translator". MS ODBC driver doesn't have an Advanced button :(, I don't know where can I set the translator.

This problem is fixed now. It was the database name in SQL Server that was causing the problem, it had dot in it (devV3.7). Once I changed it, the source model was loaded successfully.

  • Problems with loading source model using omw from sql server 7 into oracle 9i

I am migrating data from sql servr 7 into oracle 9i. when doing capture phase i get the following error.
    ==>failed to load source model.[microsoft][odbc sql server][sql server]select permission
denied on column 'password' of object 'syslogins', database master, owner dbo.
Why is this so...is it bcz of something with my odbc link...
also is there any way to load only tables and not system tables when doing capture phase.
any help asap will be much appreciated.
    thanks

    Hi,
You must ensure that you have the correct password to login to SQL Server.
The Workbench requires some of the tables in the Master database.

  • Problem in Loading Data from SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 10g

    Hi All,
I am a university student and using ODI for my final project on real-time data warehousing. I am trying to load data from MS SQL Server 2000 into Oracle 10g target table. Everything goes fine until I execute the interface for the initial load. When I choose the CKM Oracle(Create unique index on the I$ table) km, the following step fails:
    21 - Integration - Prj_Dim_RegionInterface - Create Unique Index on flow table
Where Prj_Dim_Region is the name of my target table in Oracle.

I am using a surrogate key column in my target table alongwith the natural key. The natural key is populated by the primary key of my source table, but for the surrogate key, I have created a sequence in my oracle schema where the target table exists and have used the following code for mapping:
    <%=snpRef.getObjectName( "L" , "SQ_PRJ_DIM_REGION" , "D" )%>.nextval
I have chosen to execute this code on target.
Among my attempts to solve this problem was to set Create Index option of the CKM Oracle(Create Index for the I$ Table) to No so that it wont create any index on the flow table. I also tried to use the simple CKM Oracle km . Both solutions allowed the interface to execute successfully without any errors, but the data was not loaded into the target table.
When I right-click on the Prj_Dim_Region data store and choose Data, it shows empty. Pressing the SQL button in this data store shows a dialog box " New Query" where I see this query:
    select * from NOVELTYFURNITUREDW.PRJ_DIM_REGION
But when i press OK to run it, I get this error message:

    Hi Cezar,
Can u plz help me with this scenario?
I have one Oracle data model with 19 source tables and one SQL Server data model with 10 target tables. I have created 10 interfaces which use JournalizedDataOnly on one of the tables in the interface; e.g in interface for DimCustomer target table, I have 2 tables, namely Customer and Address, but the journalizing filter appear only on Customer table and this option is disabled for Address automatically.
Now I want to create a package using OdiWaitForLog event detection. Is it possible to put all these 10 interfaces in just one package to populate the target tables? It works fine when I have only one interface and I use the name of one table in the interface for Table Name parameter of OdiWaitForLogData event, but when I try a comma seperated list of table names[Customer, Address] this error happens
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
and if I use this method <%=odiRef.getObjectName("L","model_code","logical_schema","D")%>, I get this error
    "-CDC_SET_NAME=Exception getObjectName("L", "model_code", "logical_schema", "D") : SnpLSchema.getLSchemaByName : SnpLschema does not exist" "
Please let me know how to make it work?
Do I need to create separate data models each including only those tables which appear in their corresponding interface and package? Or do I need to create multiple packages each with only one journalized interface to populate only one target table?
Thank you for your time in advance.
    Regards,
    Neel

  • Swing models and SQL Server 2000

Hi, I want to connect Swing components with SQL Server 2000 throug the Sun One Studio models for Swing (Connection Source, NBJdbcRowset and so on) but I'm failing. I think it could be the JDBC (I'm using jTDS). I wanted to know if someone has succeded with another JDBC or if someone know why my code is not working.

  • How to load decimal values into a file using bcp in SQL Server 2000?

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to load data from a database table to a text file using bcp on SQL Server 2000. When I'm loading the decimal values, the values before the decimal are not being loaded into the file. How could I load the values before decimals?
Here are the DDLs and DMLs of what I'm trying to run:
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Product_Sales](
    [Year_of_Sale] [smallint] NOT NULL,
    [Product_Type] [varchar](25) NOT NULL,
    [Product_Group] [varchar](25) NOT NULL,
    [Category_Type] [varchar](25) NOT NULL,
    [Category_Group] [varchar](10) NOT NULL,
    [Product_Count] [bigint] NOT NULL,
    [Product_Amount] [decimal](19, 2) NOT NULL,
    [Category_Count] [bigint] NOT NULL,
    [Category_Amount] [decimal](19, 2) NOT NULL,
    CONSTRAINT [PK_Product_Sales] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
    [Year_of_Sale] ASC,
    [Product_Type] ASC,
    [Product_Group] ASC,
    [Category_Type] ASC,
    [Category_Group] ASC
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    INSERT INTO [Yearly_Sales].[dbo].[Product_Sales]
    VALUES(2010, 'Online', 'Web', 'Cameras', 'Electronics', 547, 0.00, 0, 0.00)
    EXEC [master].[dbo].[xp_cmdshell] 'bcp "SELECT * FROM [Yearly_Sales].[dbo].[Product_Sales]" queryout D:\Yearly_Sales\Product_Sales.dat -c -T -S'
And the output I see in the file is:
    2010 Online Web Cameras Electronics 547 .00 0 .00
The values before decimals are being truncated.
    Thanks,

Known is a DROP, Unknown is an OCEAN.

You can modify the decimal column(s) in the table to varchar type before export. But it does not look good.
    alter table [dbo].[Product_Sales]
    Alter column [Product_Amount] varchar(20)
    alter table [dbo].[Product_Sales]
    Alter column [Category_Amount] varchar(20)
    Does that make any sense?
Known is a DROP, Unknown is an OCEAN.
Basically you modify the decimal column to a varchar type before you run the bcp command for export. You can modify your source table or you can modify them on the fly. It is just a workaround.
Modifying the source wouldn't be a good idea. Never do that if you can't get your desired output.

  • BI JDBC Connection fails to connect to SQL Server 2000

    Hello SDNs,
I have configured my JDBC connector to connect to MS SQL Server 2000(Third party in my case) using the document How to Configure UD connect on the J2EE server for JDBC Access to External Drivers.
I have given the following properties for my JDBC connector:
    Driver Name : com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    URL : jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://servername:1433;database=<databasename>
When i test the connection using the url: http://hostname:50000/TestJDBC_Web/TestJDBCPage.jsp

    Hi Sireesha,
Some insights.....while using JDBC connector .
For JDK 1.1 environments, access to the "current working directory" mustbe granted.
For Java 2 environments, access to the temporary directory specified by the VM configuration must be granted. The following is an example of permissions being granted in the file java.security.policy for the C:\TEMP directory:
// permissions granted to all domains grant { // Permission to create and delete temporary files. // Adjust the temporary directory for your environment. permission java.io.FilePermission "C:
    TEMP
    -", "read,write,delete"; };

  • Communication Failing with Corrupted Chars . Sql Server 2000 and AS400

    Hi Experts,
I am facing this below error after 9 yrs. sql server 2000 and As400 on prod server. while on dev and stage it's running properly. Here username is ABCD, while it's showing BCD
The OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "" reported an error. Authentication failed. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 7399) Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "xxxxx".
[SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 7303)  OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "" returned message "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed".
[SQLSTATE 01000] (Error 7412)  OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server returned message "[IBM][iSeries Access ODBC Driver]Communication link failure. comm rc=8001 - CWBSY0001 -
User  BCD on server does not exist, Password length = 8, Prompt Mode = Never, System IP Address = "xxxxx". [SQLSTATE 01000] (Error 7412).  The step failed.
Here ABCD user is also disabling/locking the profile on AS400 server.
When we tried on Dev server, linked server through DSN working properly. Last time when it appeared 2 yrs ago, it resolved automatically. but now more than 10 days passed and still Failing.
    Please Guide Me.
    Regards,
    Manish

So this setup has worked for nine years, and all of a sudden stopped working with this error message? Does not look trivial...
What does Here ABCD user is also disabling/locking the profile on AS400 server mean? Is ABCD able to log in directly on the AS400 box?
One possibility is that the user ABCD has been dropped or disabled, and then there is a bug in the ODBC driver where the first character of the username is distorted in the error message. I note that there are two spaces between "User" and "BCD".
The other possibility is that the AS400 is receiving a login attempt from BCD (or something that ends in BCD with an invisible leading character). This sounds very difficult to troubleshoot...

  • How to load oracle data into SQL SERVER 2000?

how to load oracle data into SQL SERVER 2000.
    IS THERE ANY UTILITY AVAILABLE?

Not a concern for an Oracle forum.
    Als no need for SHOUTING.
    Conventional solutions are
    - dump the data to a csv file and load it in Mickeysoft SQL server
    - use Oracle Heterogeneous services
    - use Mickeysoft DTS
    Whatever you prefer.
