Loadjava fails on 10.1.0.3

Question

I have a testsystem running Oracle 10.1.0.3.0 on Solaris 9 on which I previously have successfully loaded some Java-stored procedures.
But now all I get when I try to reload them is:
oracle 11:13 ~ >loadjava -u test/test@testdb -resolve my_package/*.class
Error while connecting with oci8 driver to testdb: java.lang.NullPointerException
exiting : could not open connection
If I try using the Thin-driver I get:
oracle 11:17 ~ >loadjava -u test/test@localhost:1521:testdb -t -resolve my_package/*.class
SQL Error while connecting with thin driver to localhost:1521:testdb: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified
exiting : could not open connection
I've tested running loadjava on another machine with 10.1.0.3 (also Solaris 9) and it fails too.
If I do the same thing on a locally on a machince with 10.1.0.2 (also Solaris 9) it works, but if I from the system with 10.1.0.3 try to load the SPs into the 10.1.0.2-database it fails with the same message.
I can run loadjava and update the SPs in the 10.1.0.3-database from the machine with 10.1.0.2, both using OCI and Thin driver.
I can log on to the database using SQL*Plus and also from a servlet running from a Tomcat locally on the machine with 10.1.0.3, so its not a general connection-problem.
So something seems to be broken in 10.1.0.3 or am I doing something wrong?

Update:
After a shutdown of tomcat, our application couldn't connect to the database any longer.

Even a simple test as the SelectExample.java from (Oracle 9.2.0) $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/demo/generic failed with the same errors.
But since it worked from the machine running 10.1.0.2 I copied the ojdbc14.jar from the 10.1.0.2-machine to the one running 10.1.0.3 and then it works.
I haven't tried using that jar for loadjava yet, but it seems that the ojdbc14.jar shipped with 10.1.0.3 is broken.
