LocalTransaction.RolledbackException
Hi,
I am working with a Servlet in a WebSphere Application Server, using DB2/400 JDBC and a autoCommit(false) Connection, the problem is when i finish my transactions, and all are commited, then the Servlet that is loaded throws the exception:

does anyone has resolved this problem?

Excuse the crudity of the translation (google).
This is just saying that the transaction rolled back because it was a distributed transaction and one elements of the transaction failed. You need to determine which element failed. Examine the logs.

WAS seems to disagree with you.
I think , this problem related to WAS configuration.Aren't your transactions declarative? That is configuration.
Please any one have idea, come forward.All you jokers with nothing to say take one step back.

hope someone can help me
thanx alreadyThis is what I did: I took the first error message generated which is "Resource jdbc/pf rolled back in cleanup of unresolved LocalTransactionContainment." and I took out the part that is unique in your situation, so I ended up with this: Resource rolled back in cleanup of unresolved LocalTransactionContainment.
I pasted that in google and then it is a question of trying to find some clue what might be the problem. In this case I found out that the 'WLTC0033E' is a specific error code for the problem.
Judging by what I found it means that a database connection that is not set to autocommit was rolled back because the session was closed and you did not commit manually... What that has to do with excel or a text area I have no idea :s

Need clarifications on LocalTransaction in adapters..
I'm using WLI 2.1.
I want to know how to use LocalTransactions in an adapter by implementing
spi.AbstractLocalTransaction?
How and where should I call Connection.getLocalTransaction() ? Can I call
them in InteractionImpl.execute()?
Does the weblogic server handle transactions or do we need to do the
Connection.getLocalTransaction() and
LocalTransaction.begin(),etc.?
Also, how is the LocalTransaction associated with the Connection and
ManagedConnection?
Thnx in advanceSuchitra,
Note 309955 has a complete explnation of statistics - also go to table RSDDSTAT and you can find the fields you need and search for the same and you will get the data you need.
As for reports- check under technical content - you can find the queries - you need not activate - look in the metadata repository.
And as for dashboards for the same - there are a lot of templates available for the same as part of tecvhnical content for BI.
Arun
P.S what version are you on ? the technical content has been vastly improved in BI7.0
Hope it helps.. -
JCA LocalTransaction interface
I have written a JCA adapter for OC4J. It works fine for a bean managed transaction, but a container managed transaction does not. The ManagedConnection's getLocalTransaction method never gets called, and the container does not use my Transaction implementation to manage the interaction's transactional context.
If I switch on XATransactions in the RA.xml file, the server does call getXAResource(). It just doesn't call getLocalTransaction :-(
Anyone else have experience with this?

I am trying to play around the batch update method provided in JAVA API 1.3. It works but not without errors. I keep on insert 5 records into my DB2 table by using back the same records. The result is, sometime my code works properly, but sometime it will give me a BatchUpdateException. And I don't know why this could be happened. Attached are the code snippet and also the error log.
Thanks for any advise and reply.

Problem when using cloudscape on JBoss
Hi All,
I try to run Petstore 1.3.2 on JBoss 3.2.3. I used a patch for Petstore 1.3.2 to run on JBoss 3.0.1 RC1. I tested, this patch works on 3.0.1 well. Using database cloudscape, provided by j2eesdk 1.3.1.
But it doesnt work in 3.2.3.
link to the patch and doc:
http://docs.huihoo.com/jboss/petstore.html
I changed two things of JBoss 3.2.3:
First, I changed "C:\jboss-3.2.3\server\default\conf\login-config.xml"
add following lines into it:
Code:
<application-policy name = "CloudscapeDbRealm">
<authentication>
<login-module code = "org.jboss.resource.security.ConfiguredIdentityLoginModule" flag = "required">
<module-option name = "principal"></module-option>
<module-option name = "userName">estoreuser</module-option>
<module-option name = "password">estore</module-option>
<module-option name = "managedConnectionFactoryName">jboss.jca:service=LocalTxCM,name=EstoreDataSource</module-option>
</login-module>
</authentication>
</application-policy>
<application-policy name = "CloudscapeDbRealmInventory">
<authentication>
<login-module code = "org.jboss.resource.security.ConfiguredIdentityLoginModule" flag = "required">
<module-option name = "principal"></module-option>
<module-option name = "userName">estoreuser</module-option>
<module-option name = "password">estore</module-option>
<module-option name = "managedConnectionFactoryName">jboss.jca:service=LocalTxCM,name=InventoryDataSource</module-option>
</login-module>
</authentication>
</application-policy> --------------------------------------------------------------------
Second, I copy a file called "cloudscape-service.xml" into "C:\jboss-3.2.3\server\default\deploy"
The content of this file:

(I started cloudscape.)
JBoss 3.2.3 seems has no problem with the modification of "login-config.xml".
However, JBoss 3.2.3 can't deploy "cloudscape-service.xml". It shows error msg when I start it:

The Petstore still can run, but shows "Unable to Connect to Database

Could anyone kindly help with this problem, please?
The reason why I using 3.2.3 is the project I am working on need to use TPTP BTM to monitor Petstore.
But eclipse seems just support JBoss 3.2.3 and JBoss 4.0.
I have the same problem with JBoss 4.0.5 GA.
Thank you very much!Hi,
I am having the same issue with Siebel on Demand web services. I was wondering if you ever solved this issue??? -
Hi,
I am using Coherence as a cache for my weblogic application. I use a Message Driven Bean that receive a message, write something in Coherence and then write an other message in a result queue.
I want all this operations to be fully transactional. To do this I try to use the Coherence Container Integration with JCA (see http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH33UG/Transactions%2C+Locks+and+Concurrency).
My first problem here is to install the rar file in weblogic. I try in weblogic version 10 and 8.1 (my coherence version is 3.2) and I got the following errors :

LucHi William,
Are you sure this is correct? During the prepare phase I would have expected the
changes to have been made persistent (durable within the grid) but not immediately
visible on at least another node within the cluster assuming Coherence is using the
grid itself as a transaction log service.What I wrote is how the TransactionMap API documentation describes it.
I believe, the idea behind it is that the commit phase writes data to the underlying cache with putAll and removeAll operations which are supposed to be fail-safe and are not waiting for any other threads if the client owns the locks for the entries, even in case of cluster node failures.
With the transaction consistency and isolation verified in prepare() and all relevant locks owned, there is no transactional reason why the commit could fail. The only possible causes of failure are disastrous conditions or errors in write-through cache store operations preventing success of the putAll/remove operations (or coding errors in serialization/deserialization/indexed-methods).
If not then how would Coherence ensure the commit would be successfully executed
after a voting to commit during the prepare phase even in the event of a failure
occurring before commit. The TransactionMap 2PC is not supposed to be interleaved with other 2PC operations. It is supposed to work only above the Coherence caches (actually you can add one 1PC operation between the TransactionMap prepare()-s and TransactionMap commit()-s, if you implement CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection manually).
Full XA is not supported over the caches by Coherence.
The XA-related stuff I mentioned is when you use the Coherence CacheAdapter to enlist Coherence caches under a JTA transaction. However in this case the caches together act as a 1PC resource (JCA LocalTransaction mode) from the JTA TransactionManager-s point of view and you do not see anything from it being internally 2PC.
In this case, the JTA transaction 2PC operation proceeds as follows:
1. All real XA resources enlisted to the JTA transaction are prepared. After this point all JDBC changes over an XA-driver JDBC connection are flushed to the database, so all locks to be acquired are acquired.
2. If all were prepared successfully, then the transactional caches enlisted under the JCA Adapter are committed together with code equivalent to CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection(). The transactional caches are practically TransactionMap-s wrapped in two or three layer of wrapper objects.
3. If the CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection() succeeded, then all the XA resources enlisted to the JTA transaction are committed. All JDBC locks are released only at this point.
Why I mentioned XA and locks and TRANSACTION_EXTERNAL in this thread at all is that if you modified equivalent entries in Coherence to what you modified in XA JDBC, then you don't in fact need to lock those entries in Coherence, because equivalent locks with a broader lifetime are existing in the database. TRANSACTION_EXTERNAL allows you to do just that.
Hope this clears this up, but feel free to ask if it does not.
Best regards,
Robert -
Getting Error while configuring thirdparty adaptor on weblogic server.
Hi,

Error while invoking PL/SQL API from DB Adapter
Hi everybody.
We have a plenty of processes, which invokes PL/SQL API using DB Adapters. Everything goes ok, but sometimes API invocations results with error like this:
<bindingFault>
<part name="code" >
<code>902</code>
</part>
<part name="summary" >
<summary>file:/d01/oracle/as10g/integration/orabpel/domains/dev/tmp/.bpel_Ins_person_M2S_1.0.jar/insert_person.wsdl [ insert_person_ptt::insert_person(InputParameters,OutputParameters) ]
- WSIF JCA Execute of operation 'insert_person' failed due to: Error while trying to prepare and execute an API. An error occurred while preparing and executing the XXAR_CUSOMER_WRAP_PKG.CREATE_PERSON API. Cause: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00902: invalid datatype ; nested exception is: ORABPEL-11811 Error while trying to prepare and execute an API. An error occurred while preparing and executing the XXAR_CUSOMER_WRAP_PKG.CREATE_PERSON API. Cause: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00902: invalid datatype Check to ensure that the API is defined in the database and that the parameters match the signature of the API. Contact oracle support if error is not fixable. </summary>
</part>
<part name="detail" >
<detail>ORA-00902: invalid datatype </detail>
</part>
</bindingFault>
(text from Activity Audit trail)
The error disappears after some "magic" actions like redeploying the process, clearing WSDL cache or restarting BPEL server.
Any suggestions?

1) You can check your input & output arguments to a PL/SQL function/procedure using an assign activity, in which you tend to assign a source variable to a target variable.
Here, you can check to see, if the input & output to the DB Adapter are correct, if not, you can always recreate the adapter.
2) You can also check the schema of the PL/SQL function, to check if it has the right inputs & outputs.
It'd be a .xsd file in the format of <SCHEMA_NAME-OF-FUNCTION.xsd> viz. SCOTT_EMPDETAILS.xsd -
Issue with DB Adapter - ORABPEL-11811
Hi,
I'm invoking a custom API using Db adapter and the process throws ORABPEL-11811 error at runtime. As per the error, I'd verified if the value passed is of incorrect datatype and its not so. I'm able to get the valid response if I test the custom API from an SQL prompt for the same input I pass in the BPEL process.
The error goes as this:

I'm using JDev 10.1.3.1.0. Can someone point out if this a valid error or a bug which needs a patch to be applied. I did verify for a similar issue in the forum but wasnt able to get a resolution to mine.
Thanks in advance,

Exceptions thrown while importing tables from SQL Server 2000
Hi all,
<MyProblem:
I cannot import the tables defined in my local SQL Server. An exception is thrown --oracle.jdeveloper.cm.ds.db.ValidationException: Columns of type varchar cannot have a size specified.
/>
<What I have done:
In Oracle JDev 10g, Created a new DB connection called "SQLServerConnection" to connect to the SQL Server and it works fine. I am able to see all tables by expanding the connection.
During the creation of a new partner link named "DBAdapter", I use the adapter wizard to select DB Adapter and then select the "SQLServerConnection" DB connection I have created. I select Perform an Operation on a Table and then check Select. After I pressed OK button on the[i] Import Tables dialog, a Error messege box emmerged indicating the Exception: Columns of type varchar cannot have a size specified.
I try to change the data type of the columns of the tables to char, there is still similar exception (Columns of type char cannot have a size specified).
/>
I got the stack trace from the prompt by using jdev.exe.

Thank you.
I followed the steps and the there were no exceptions then.
However, new runtime error emerged.

Memory Leak in BI SDK with XMLA Connector ?
Hi,
I am using BI SDK 3.5 with XMLA Connector. I noticed that in com.sap.ip.bi.sdk.dac.connector.xmla.impl.Connection class, the LocalTransaction object is rollbacked when the close() method is called.
This makes a call to the endTransaction() method of Repository class with "true" parameter and leads to informations storage into a RepositoryDBMemory instance.
The only way I found to avoid this is to call the endTransaction() method with "false" as parameter, which is what is done in commit() method of the LocalTransaction class.
So, I tried to commit the transaction before closing the connection but in XMLA mode, the getLocalTransaction() method throws an BIResourceException so it is impossible to commit it. This is the first issue.
Second issue: it seems that data hold by the DataSetContentHandler is not freed. I tried using SAP Parser, Xerces, Java Parser but it has no effect. I hava a MDX query that returns 13000 lines, the XML file size is about 15Mo.
In a for loop with 10 operations, it leads to a OutOfMemory error quickly (only 7 iterations OK with -Xmx256m -Xms256m options). On each iteration, the memory grows about 25 to 30Mo !
For the first point, I do not call the close method on the connection object and it is garbage collected (but, in my opinion, it is quite strange not calling the close() method on a connection object).
For the second one (DataSetContentHandler), I have no idea. Has someone already encounter this problem ? The Netbeans profiler tells me it is this object that holds all java.lang.String objects. Is it right ?
I saw in DataSetContentHandler class that it has two static fields: one for the row cursor of the dataset, the other one for column cursor. Why ? Is it OK in a multi-threaded context ?
<b>This is urgent as we will not put the project in production mode with such a memory leak ! We must find the problem very quickly.</b>
Thanks in advance for any help you might give to me !
Regards,
David Degardin (Ubik-Ingenierie)I found the same thing. Tracing the execution back I found the only place this function was called was as part of the setup, so you shouldn't have to worry about it getting called multiple times and leaking memory. The trouble seems to be when the AudioPlayer dealloc method is called, the memory is not cleaned up.
My fix was to modify the dealloc in AudioQueueObject to check to see if audioLevels is nil and, if not, free it. This seems to have fixed the problem. -

Thanks in advance,
Jorge GomezHi,
According to WAS 6 , every opened connection has to be commited (or rolledback) explicitly (didnt try autocommit) before closing. Even if all you have done with that connection is a SELECT Query.
This has apparently solved the same problem I was getting. implement it and see whether it helps you.
