Locate elements to JSP page!!!!

HI!
I whant to know how can I locate elements in JSP page from Data Control Palette, witch will be good-looking. For example I want to take elements one by one - from one attribute only label, from another only inputValue textbox! How can I do that with good-looking design???
PLZ help and suggest something...
BEST REGARDS!

Hi,
just drag and drop the attributes and choose from the context menu. For labels, choose outputTextField. Note that the real label - at least when using ADF BC - is not shown as the value for af:outputText. In this case you need to change the EL reference from #{bindings.attribute_name.inputValue} to #{bindings.attribute_name.label}
The sense of the remaining part of your question is unclear to me.

  • Using swing elements in JSP pages

    I am developing a web application using jsp pages. In this application i want to display some information in a seperate window. For this i created a class which extends JFrame. This class makes also use of the singleton principle.
    In the jsp i use the following code (singleton class is called Statistics.class:
    <%
    /** statswindow try
    JFrame eTAFframe = Statistics.getInstance();
    eTAFframe.pack();
    eTAFframe.setLocation(485, 420);
    eTAFframe.setVisible(true);
    /*end statswindow try */
    %>
    After deployting the application on an Iplanet Application Server this code does create a window displaying the right information. The problem is that it opens this windows on the system i used to deploy the application and not on the machine requesting the jsp page.
    Question:
    How do you get this window to be displayed on the requesting machine, preferably without using an applet approach?
    Any code examples showing the use of swing elements in jsp pages are welcome.

    I understand the desire to not use an applet. Have you tried an html pop-up? This will create a separate http request through to your server on the user's same session. This allows your server to do the required processing to display the data to the user via html.
    Use the target="_blank" attribute of the anchor tag, or a window.open JavaScript method.

  • CHART BUILDER ERROR WHEN TRYING TO GENERATE DYNAMIC CHARTS ON A JSP PAGE

    I'm working with J Develop 9.03 on Windows 2000 Professional Edition.
    I'm using the JSP demo files provided with Oracle Chart Builder to generate
    dynamic charts. The user specifies the query parameters, including the date
    range and the query results are returned by means of a line chart (with date on
    the x axis and values on the y axis).
    When trying to compile the project I get the following error messages:
    Error(165,2): class FileOutputStream not found in class _graph
    Error(170,5): class File not found in class _graph
    Error(176,4): exception java.io.IOException is never thrown in the
    corresponding try block
    I checked to see that the chartbuilder library (chartbuilder.jar) files are
    loaded into the project library. It's unusual that the class is not being
    found. I don't understand why. I developed my project using the following steps:
    1. Unzipped Chart Builder installation files into c:\Oraclechartbuilder
    2. Loaded chartbuilder class library
    c:\Oraclechartbuilder\chartbuilder\lib\chartbuilder.jar into J Developer class
    path (by selecting <Project Settings> <Paths> and browsing to the
    chartbuilder.jar file).
    3. Created a new JSP page in J Developer (graph.jsp)
    4. Copied JSP code syntax from the Word Pad demo file and pasted into graph.jsp
    5. Changed the DB connection parameters and static directory location on the
    JSP page.
    6. Compiled the project and received the above errors.
    I would like to know why the classes are not being found and how to fix the problem. Thanks, Jaafar

    Hi mshah101,
    This can happen if the applet is compiled using an higher version of java and the browser is pointing to an older version (even if minor version number is higher)

  • ClassNotFoundException when trying to access applet (jar) from a jsp page?

    I have my applet in a jar file and I am specifying the applet tag in my jsp page as follows:
    <applet code="website.utils.DragDropUploadApplet.class" name="DragDropApp" width="17" height="17" archive="utils.jar" codebase="." ></applet>
    I tried with and without the codebase. The jar file is at the same location as the jsp page which has the above applet tag, however I get a ClassNotFoundException in the Sun Java Console in Internet Explorer. Any inputs on resolving this will be much appreciated.

  • Step Value in Train Locator element

    Hi,
    I am using Train Locator element in OAFramework pages.
    I have created 6 steps in the train region i am also using Submit Button in that Locator element region as described in OA Framework help and wants to display button at last page for that i m comparing step value as explained in OA framework help in processRequest as:
    OATrainBean trainBean =
    (OATrainBean)pageContext.getPageLayoutBean().getLocation();
    // You must call the following before getting the target page index.
    trainBean.prepareForRendering(pageContext);
    int step = trainBean.getSelectedTrainStepRenderedIndex() ;
    if (step + 1 != trainBean.getNumberOfRenderedTrainSteps())
    OASubmitButtonBean submitButton =
    (OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("Submit");
    submitButton.setRendered(false);
    But every time when 1st page renders submit button is displayed then for 2,3,4,5 page it is not displayed then it is displayed for last page.
    Everytime when 1st page rendered value of step comes 5!! while it should come 0.
    I only want to display this submit button at last page not at 1st page.
    Thanks in advance!

  • How can I Locate the correct filepath in a jsp page?

    In http://localhost:8080/myweb/a.jsp, I will call a java bean file which is locate in http://localhost:8080/myweb/WEB-INF/classes/haha/DBConnection.class. This java file requires to read an external file which locates in http://localhost:8080/myweb/WEB-INF/classes/haha/db.txt
    My question is how can I get the correct filepath in this environment?
    inputStream = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(????????));
    Only this will work
    inputStream = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("D:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\db.txt"));
    But no one will place the file here, and it is impossible to do this when upload to 3rd party hosting.
    Any suggestion? thx.

    Thx all, in a jsp page, calling this method is fine.
    ServletContext s = getServletContext();
    String a = s.getRealPath("/");
    In a Servlet file, below method is ready to use:
    String b = getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRealPath("/");
    My problem is, I have a jsp page, which initialize a java bean , this java file is responsible for Database Connection, which will read the external text file to get the login, password and database name. So I won't need to recompile this file every time when I place in different platform with different configuration. I only need to edit the text file is ok.
    But How can I get the absolute file path when that jsp page initialize that java bean file? Below is my error, any suggestions are thx.

  • JDeveloper - ADF: JSP-Page - DesignView schows only Elements

    Hi,
    I use the preview-Version of JDeveloper 11g and working with some jsp-Pages within an ADF-project. When I open the View and choose the Design - View, I see something like nested Elements. Id like to see the Elements, like they look in the Webpage. So, what I had to do, to achieve this?
    Regards,
    Anita
    PS.: If there where any posibility, Iwould like to pass a screenshot.

    John Lee,
    Try right-clicking the af:Table, choose properties. Then, in the "Column Details" tab - there is an "is sortable" property for each column. Alternatively, when you drop the table from the data control palette the first time, the dialog that appears allows you to specify that you want sorting in your table.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • OC4J 9.0.3 does not find JSP pages

    I had a working BC4J JSP application supporting my team's project management documents in JDev RC2 which I had successfully deployed into a standalone OC4J 9.0.3 on my Win2K workstation. Because the application failed with a jbo arrayoutofbounds exception when trying to bring up a 4K varchar2 field, I installed the newer OC4J 9.0.3 release, but tried to get JDev RC2 to deploy. Deployment seemed successful, but the JSP's were not recognized. (PS: The application still works with JDev's embedded OC4J engines).
    The JSP's are included in the deployed War file, but I do not see any classes compiled from the JSPs in the OC4J 9.0.3 directories. OC4J does bring up the static HTML pages.
    Seeing that JDev embeds OC4J 9.0.2, I downloaded the OC4J 9.0.2.1 production standalone version and again deployed -- the results were disappointingly the same, though, during the course of trying alternatives I received bc4j.xcfg not on path error.
    Grabbing at straws, I moved the application to the JDev 9.0.2 production version and tried to deploy to both the OC4J versions -- with the same results.
    I then created another workspace, with a single table BC4J component project, a BC4J JSP project, letting JDev generate the BrowseEdit.jsp components, added the default static html page object. Ran under embedded OC4J, but JSP page access failed, while access to the static HTML page worked.
    Because JDev deployments had never failed me before, I am at a complete loss. Too much of a black box!
    My desperation reminds me of a section from a Shakespeare sonnet -- appropriate here:
    "My thoughts and my discourse as madmen's are,
    at random from the true,
    vainly expressed,
    for I have sworn thee fair,
    and thought thee bright,
    who art as black as hell,
    and as dark as night."
    Can anyone help bring the old girl back?

  • Help with jsp page and bpel process

    I learnt BPEL process is a web service and it could be invoked.
    I want to write a jsp page to do it.
    I read about Locator, Idelliveryservice,normalizedmessage...
    The method addPart of normalizedmessage class take only one string (other than payload) or an element.
    If i have 2 or more variables in payload, have i to use
    normmessage.addPart(...,var1)
    normmessage.addPart(...,var2)
    normmessage.addPart(...,var3)
    or have i to put all the variable in an element and use only once addPart?
    Thanks
    Ema
    PS-Is there a precise example about this problem? i read only "loandemo" process and "helloworld" process.

    Here's how I built mine:
    String xml = "<EmailControlProcessRequest xmlns=\"http://xmlns.oracle.com/EmailControl\">"
    + "<input>" + input + "</input>" + "<changeType>" + changeType + "</changeType>" + "<days>" + days + "</days>" + "</EmailControlProcessRequest>"
    Basically, look inside JDev to see the how your whole variable is formed. Then, build your xml string according to how it's built.
    My variable is built like this:
    <EmailControlProcessRequest>
    <input>input info</input>
    <changeType>changeType info</changeType>
    <days>days info</days>
    </EmailControlProcessRequest>
    Then, after that, I do this:
    NormalizedMessage nm = new NormalizedMessage();
    nm.addPart("payload", xml);

  • Locator Element: Breadcrumb problem once deployed to web tier

    Hello all,
    I've got a dashboard page that has many links to other pages, some standard, some custom. In all my links I've used "&addBreadCrumb=Y" or "ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_YES" in the "setForwardURL" method.
    I know that they do not show when you run them locally, unless you have a front-page JSP to link to the custom page. So, locally I DO have a JSP linking to my dashboard page and YES the Locator Elements do show on subsequent child pages. ie- "Dashboard > " at the top left of the page.
    However, after deploying my dashboard page to the Oracle Apps Web Tier, they do not show! My dashboard has simply been registered as a Function and has been associated with a Menu that is connected to a Responsibility. When I navigate to it, the page works fine, however child pages do not show Locator Elements.
    Has anyone had this problem?
    Thanks in advance
    Snowy.

    Ah you have to love it when you post a message and 2 minutes later you find the answer yourself! :)
    I added "addBreadCrumb=Y" to the Function definition and it worked.

  • Repeating a group element on each page of a report.

    I have a report where I need to repeat a group element on each page. The element is from the first group in the data. It is in the center group. Currently, the values from this group only print when the group changes. Everything I try does not work. Does anyone have any ideas. I am attaching a sample of the data. Along with the rtf document. I am using the BI Publisher plug in in Word to create the template.

    Hi,
    You should add a first level of grouping in your subreport on a fake formula field with a constant value.  Put your header and footer information in this group header and footer.  In the group option make sure to check the "repeat group header on each page option".
    This group will act as a page header + footer within your subreport.
    good luck!

  • How to print new line in jsp page

    hi
    how to print new line in jsp page
    thanks

    \n - new line character is in java specific not HTML
    specific.Well, if the correct line separator sequence (by far not always \n) would be used, it does add a new line to the HTML output. Too bad that you don't want to see HTML but formatted text. The BR tag is a formatting element for the displayed text, not a line break in HTML. ;)

  • Issue in applying SSL selectively to Login JSP Page--Session getting lost.

    Hi,
    I am facing some issues with SSL configuration on my web site running on tomcat 5.5. I am using jdk 1.5 and form based authentication with JAAS framework.
    The SSL configuration is working perfectly when applied to complete web site, but starts giving problem when applied selectively to some JSP pages. At present I am trying to apply SSL just on the login page.
    When the login screen loads up, the URL in the browser has a protocol "*https*", as expected, but it doesn't gets changed to "*http*" once the user has successfully logged in. Why is the automatic change from https to http not ocurring?
    Also I want to know which is the default page, tomcat will direct the logged in user to, once successfully authenticated using form based login; Is there any way to change this default page to some other page. It looks like that tomcat automatically directs to index.html , once the user has been successfully authenticated, but I am not so sure. My index.html page is having 4 frames; the source of these frames are different JSP pages, which are not under SSL.
    My aim is to apply SSL just on login.jsp so that password doesn't travel in clear text. Once the user is authenticated he should see index.html and the address bar's URL should change it's protocol from https to http.

    clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS" />
    I have gone through the http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=197150 and tried implementing it; The filter as explained in the thread does gets called but the session values are still lost.
    Please note I am using javascript to go from secure "https" to "http" once the user has successfully logged in The javascript code is as below:
    top.location.href="http://localhost:8080/qtv/index.html." ;
    If I use response.sendRedirect("http://localhost:8080/qtv/index.html") for going to non-secure mode, the index.html page does not gets loaded properly. (Please note that my index.html is made of *4 frames*, as explained earlier. This is a legacy code and frames can't be removed).
    The reason for index.html not getting loaded properly is that the Address bar URL does NOT change its URL and protocol from https (https://localhost:8443/qtv/index.html ) to "*http*" (http://localhost:8080/qtv/index.html) when esponse.sendRedirect() is used ;this is the default behaviour of response.sendRedirect(). And because the protocol in address bar is https, index.html is not able to load the other JSP's in it's frames because of cross-frame-scripting security issues (The other JSP's to be loaded in frames are are NOT secure as discussed earlier).
    Please let know if any way out.
    Thanks,
    Masaai
