Locate files using a vb script

Hi everybody,
I am a network guy with 0 programmings skills :) I'm getting better with scripting slowly but surely...
I have a customer that needs to find where are located Groupewise archives for around 80 users. We will then move them to a specific location on the network. The customer will do this manually since they have configuration change to do on each mailbox.
The archive name are always in this format OF???ARC .
My script work but only for explicit file name. I would need to use a regex or something so my search result find the files.
I need to search on c:\*.* because they could be possibly everywhere.
I dont need to do any action on the files just find them and write result to file. Like I said I have no programming skills and I found all the piece looking on forums.

By the way. I can't use powershell. Only Windows XP with a lot of missing patches and Windows 2003 servers available in the forest/domain

I actually tried with dir at first but using dir do not work using a script. I tested it at home and I have no issue but here... nothing will do... I have a file not found error or something similar.(translated from french).
Unless you know why it does this ?
So I don't need a REGex to search the files ? Just to make sure I was clear. Here are some example of file name I Could find.

Sedname - Batch rename files using sed

Renaming files using sed is nothing new, but this script makes the process a little more friendly and adds a few features, including insertion of sequential numbers and a simulation mode. The output of any find command can also be piped through sedname.

Load multiple files using the same data load location

has anybody tried loading multiple files using the same load locations. I need to do this as the data in these multiple files will need to be exported from FDM as a single export file. the problem i am facing is more user related. since these files will be received at different points of time, users will need a way to tell them what has been loaded and what is yet to be loaded.
is it possible to throw a window on the web broser with OK and Cancel buttons from an event script?
any pointers to possible solutions will be helpful

was able to resolve this. the implementation method is as follows
take a back up of previously imported data in the befcleardata event script. then in the beffileimport event append the data to the import file. there are many other intricacies but this is the broad implementation logic. it allowed my users to load multiple files without worrying about append or replace import type choices

"File could not be used because original file cannot be found." Locate File?

Everytime I try to play a song on iTunes, I get a message that says "The song cannot be played because the original file cannot be found. Would you like to locate it?" I also cannot add songs to playlists, or pretty much do anything. The only songs that will play are ones I recently purchased from the iTunes store. I also have 2 libraries setup on my computer. The original library is fine, its the second one that is a problem. Should I just go back to one library? or how can fix the problem?

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

How to delete the unix files automatically using the unix scripts

we have the ADF Project deployed on weblogic server running on top of Linux OS. But, our ADF running project is generating temporary files in weblogic server path below path
/u01/oracle/product/Middleware/user_projects/domains/based_domain/servers/AdminServer/tmp.
we are deleting the folders and files existed in TMP directory manually, when size is huge. but, our requirement is to delete the same automatially using the shell scripting based on the time interval say for every 10 hours or 2 days.
Can anybody please provide us the solution.

Hey Peter, if I wan to move several page that part of Auto Flow text, I checked the "delete page after moving" but the content still there, not deleted.

How to spool file to where start script file located

I'm writing a sqlplus script, eg. runMe.sql, which is going to run in customer env, will generate some data files eg. result.csv.
By specify location such as 'spool /certain/path/on/disk/result.csv', I can spool to any path I want. However, my concern is below:
1. We gets many customers and the script might be run under different location.
2. I don't know where customer would save the script, furthermore, I don't want customer to input location manually every time.
3. Generally, customer would run the script something like "sqlplus username/password@sid @/certain/path/on/disk/runMe.sql". They don't want to pass any parameter at run time.
4. I wanna spool file to "/certain/path/on/disk" automatically, as a result, result.csv file would appear under same path with runMe.sql.
5. I tried "spool ./result.csv" but it navigate to where sqlplus session is running.
6. Also tried &0 etc, but make no sense.
Can anyone tell me how to obtain start running script file path in sqlplus script(runMe.sql) ? Just like access command parameters under Linux.

In this way your customer has to set one environment variable SQLPATH=/location/of/script/file/where/they/put/your/runMe.sql and just say :
spool %sqlpath%\result.csv
in your runMe.sql. So, runMe.sql and result.csv will be on SQLPATH location.

Kindly help me in embedding images in INX file using Indesign Javascript.
I have used the following code to embed images in an indd document and exporting that document to inx. But the images in inx are not embedded by default.
var linksCount = myDocument.links.count();
var linksOnPage = myDocument.links;
for(var x=0;x<linksCount;x++){
 var linkedItem = linksOnPage.item(0);
 linkedItem.unlink();
myDocument.save(new File("filename.indd"));
myDocument.exportFile(ExportFormat.INDESIGN_INTERCHANGE, File("filename.inx"), app.pdfExportPresets.item("[Press Quality]"));

I think your script has two mistakes
you embed only first link image in for loop => set x for linksOnPage
exporting to inx isnot need PDF export preset => remove app.pdfExportPresets.item("[Press Quality]") from exportFile()
this work for me.
myDocument = app.documents[0];
var linksCount = myDocument.links.count();
var linksOnPage = myDocument.links;
for(var x=0;x < linksCount;x++){
 var linkedItem = linksOnPage.item(x);
 linkedItem.unlink();

Strange noise problem with music layer after replacing the music file using script in CS6

Hey guys,
I got a strange problem. Sometime when I import a music file, or replace a music footage with another music file using the "replace()" or "importFile()" method, the music layer added one second noise at the beginning. like this,
Does anyone know what's going on here?
I'm using After Effects CS6 windows Server 2008 64bit.

Thanks for your replay. Actually, it doesn't matter what makes up my comp, this problem just randomly happen when I render any comp. For example, I have a comp named "noise", I run a script to replace the music then render it, I use a "for" loop to do this 5 times and the music noise problem just happen one time.
I'm starting to think that win server might be the problem.

I've tried several settings when saving as a PDF, to try to produce a file with fonts that can be detected by Acrobat. I tried the presets listed in guide: Photoshop Help | Saving PDF files
But none have worked.
I cannot use PNG because it is not one of the formats that Acrobat allows for a watermark. And JPG doesn't work because I need transparency.
