Location of JSP files

Hi,
I'm trying to get it so that I can put my JSP files in a directory other than O:\ifs\webui\jsps. Where would I make this change? I want to do this so that I don't need to put ifs/webui/jsps at the end of the url for my site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

OOB you should put your JSP files in folders underneath \ifs\jsp-bin.
To add other directory roots edit the file
IfsDavServletParameters.properties
found in the folder
<ORACLE_HOME\ifs1.1\settings\oracle\ifs\protocols\dav\impl\properties>
Look for the entry
#JSP Properties
ifs.dav.jsp.alloweddirs=/ifs/webui/jsps|/ifs/jsp-bin|/home/gking
As you can see from the above example I've added an entry allowing /home/gking to be used to host JSP files

    Hello Friends,
    I have created a JSP file in which I am trying to connect the database using oracle.jdbc.pool directory. But it shows an error message as:
    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    the path for pool package is:

    the location of JSP file is:

    What I think is I have to play with the CLASSPATh entries, but dont know how. Please help me in solving this issue...
    For your reference the JSP code is:

    Just to verify, which relevant log files have you found?
    catch(SQLException e) {
    out.println(e);
    } Have you search the console log file?
    A quick observation reveals that your jsp is just a standalone java program executed inside jsp. Suppose you just run it as a standalone program. Any error then?
    Another way going forward is to install oc4j standalone of the same version. It is very easy to install: just download the oc4j-extended.zip and unzip it and run "java -jar oc4j.jar". Put you jsp inside j2ee/home/default-web-app and run. You should see relevant log messages in j2ee/home/log/server.log and j2ee/home/application-deployments/yourApp/application.log.
    You should have Jdeveloper of some appropriate version installed. If you have not, install one. It might be not a little bit high learning curve at first, but the rewards are quick and amazing, especially since jdev 10.1.3. (I am speaking from my experience.) Try it with Jdeveloper.

  • EL fails in my JSP-files

    Hello,
    today i installed JSTL 1.1 using Tomcat 5.0.25 and J2SDK1.4.2_03. I noticed, that the EL-expressions are only evaluated, if the jsp-files are located in the root-directory of my web-application. My usual location for jsp-files is /WEB-INF/jsp instead. If the jsp-files are located there, the expressions are not evaluated.
    Is it a bug, a feature or a configuration problem?
    Below my minimal example:
    test.jsp:
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" %>
    <html>
      <head>
        <title>Test</title>
      </head>
      <body>
        <c:out value="${1+1}" />
      </body>
    </html>web.xml:
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN" "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_2.dtd">

          <jsp-file>/WEB-INF/jsp/test.jsp</jsp-file>
        </servlet>
        <servlet-mapping>
          <servlet-name>TEST</servlet-name>
          <url-pattern>/run</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>
    </web-app>The URL to test.jsp is http://localhost:8080/testapp/runMoving test.jsp from TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/testapp/WEB-INF/jsp to TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/testapp and calling http://localhost:8080/testapp/test.jsp works just fine instead.
    Does anyone know, what's going wrong?
    Thank you in advance,
    Tobi :-)

    I haven't seen that before, but perhaps the difference is the web.xml DTD. Try using the newest version,
    so that your web.xml looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee"
            xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
            xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee
            http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd"
            version="2.4">
      <description>TestApp</description>
        <servlet>

          <jsp-file>/WEB-INF/jsp/test.jsp</jsp-file>
        </servlet>

          <servlet-name>TEST</servlet-name>
          <url-pattern>/run</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>
    </web-app>

  • Where's the location of JSP's java files in weblogic

    When I put *.jsp in my Web application,
              I can find the complied class in
              C:\bea\user_projects\mydomain\myserver\.wlnotdelete\extract\myserver_BOFT_BO
              FT\jsp_servlet\****.class
              But anyone can tell me where the ***.java?
              What's the location of these java files ?
              Samuel

    In WL8.1, it appears that the .java files are placed in the same directory,
              but are removed after the class is compiled successfully. (Is there a
              setting to prevent the .java files from being deleted?)
              Try placing an intentional syntax error in your JSP file so that the
              compilation fails, and you should see the .java file where the .class file
              would have been.

  • Include a JSP file located in a JAR

    how is it possible to include a jsp file which is located in a jar? perhaps someone has already a solution for this hoping
    what I already have found out is that jasper parser supports loading JSP files out of JARs, indeed. but when using a <%@import file="foo.jsp"%> directive, this special method is not called. is there some workaround? should I set some special property?
    thx

    Did you ever figure this one out?

  • Jsp file not able to locate class file in JWS 2.0

    hello all,
    i am a beginner at jsp...
    my problem....
    i have created a jsp file which accesses a SpellCheck.class file..
    i am using Java Web Server 2.0...
    and in the classpath i have set the classpath variable to c:\javawebserver2.0\lib. I have placed the class file in this directory.
    Now when i run the jsp file it gives the following errors...
    C:\JavaWebServer2.0\tmpdir\default\pagecompile\jsp\_wordpro.java:73: Class pagecompile.jsp.SpellCheck not found in type declaration.
    SpellCheck help = null;
    ^
    C:\JavaWebServer2.0\tmpdir\default\pagecompile\jsp\_wordpro.java:76: Class pagecompile.jsp.SpellCheck not found in type declaration.
    help= (SpellCheck)
    ^
    C:\JavaWebServer2.0\tmpdir\default\pagecompile\jsp\_wordpro.java:81: Class pagecompile.jsp.SpellCheck not found in type declaration.
    help = (SpellCheck) Beans.instantiate(getClassLoader(), "SpellCheck");
    ^
    3 errors
    i guess this is happening because it cant find the .class file.
    MY QUESTION IS:
    where should i place the class file so the the .jsp is able to locate it??
    the code of the jsp is as follows:
    <%@ page language="java"%>
    <jsp:useBean id="help" scope="request" class="SpellCheck">
    <%
         System.out.println("Working with the bean");
         help.setWord(request.getParameter("word"));
    %>
    </jsp:useBean>
    <html>
    <body>
    You entered the input,
    <b> <%= request.getParameter("word")%></b><br>
    The processed output is:<br>
    <%= Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("mode"))==1 ? help.reverse() : " "+help.check() %>
    </body>
    </html>

    just place your class file in JWS2.0/classes directory
    and restart you Serverhi
    yes ive done it...
    1. ive placed the .class file in JWS2.0/classes directory
    2. ive placed the .jsp file and the .html file in the JWS2.0/public_html directory... it still does'nt work...

  • JSP Registry could not locate runtime property file

              At runtime, my JSP is throwing an exception claiming to be not able to find the property
              file. I have found the exact property file in the jar located on the server. I've
              tried extracting it and placing it in different places and adding the file and directory
              to the WebLogic classpath. I'm not sure what else to try.
              Here's the exception:
              Loading from CLASSPATH cat_test4_cat_pkg_Cat_pkgModule.properties

              Thanks.

    When you generate a webapp or use the JSP element wizard , a property file is created for you that contains some startup parameters. This file needs to be available in the classpath. This errors comes up becuase the file is not avalable in the classpath.

  • JSP and location of .properties file

    Hi,
    I have a directory in my C:\apache\tomcat\webapps directory entitled "ignmDBInt".
    I have a jsp file in this directory that works successfully. I would like it to open a .properties file. However, it cannot be found.
    Where should this .properties file be located?
    My code to access the .properties file is below.
    //opent the config file and get the field names
    ResourceBundle myResourceBundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle("Properties");
    String fieldNames[] = myResourceBundle.getString("fieldNamesDelimited").split(",");
    String properNames[] = myResourceBundle.getString("properNamesDelimited").split(",");

    That last reply fixed it. Thanks!
    I didn't realize you had to set JSPs up like servlets.

  • JSP file cannot locate beans

    I created a JSP file that calls a bean, I placed the bean in Web-inf/classes folder (I manually created classes folder because the application server didn't create it, bug). The problem is that my JSP page cannot access the bean, even when I modify setEnv.cmd file. Please HELP!!

    I have the same problem:
    I try to get the Emp bean in examples\intro from weblogic 5.1 working on WL
    6 sp1: I take the jar file and deploy it in console (either as EJB or as
    Application), and my JSP page EmpQuery.jsp miserably fails since it can't
    get to the bean classes.
    When I extract all the *.class files from the jar in the
    config\examples\serverclasses
    it works like a charm.
    BUT this defeats the idea of bean deployment !
    How can I make it work ?
    Should I modify the CLASSPATH as well ? Isn't the deployment supposed to do
    that automatically for me ?

    According to the release notes, for the JRCHelperSample to compile, you must set the target runtime for the project.
    To do this, either create a project from scratch that uses the Tomcat 5.5 target runtime, or go to the properties menu and ensure that the target runtime is set to the application server you will be using.

  • Relative Path for JSP Files

    I use Liferay Portal. It has a defined directory structure for all portlets and expects files to be in their proper locations. One of these is that it expects all .jsp files to be in the /webroot/html directory.
    The problem is that all references in the struts-config.xml to .jsp files are assumed to be relative to the /html directory. So if, for instance, I set the path as /test/test.jsp then Liferay looks for the file in /html/test/test.jsp. But NitroX requires the full path, including the /html.
    I've gotten this to work on another competing product - in that product I set the Web Root to be the /html directory and it works great. That product allows you to set the path of the struts-config.xml separately. Is there any way to do something similar with NitroX? I tried changing the webroot in the .m7project file manually but it doesn't like it. It seems to insist that the struts-config.xml file is in the webroot.
    Thanks.

    NitroX currently supports only a war directory structure. When a project is created, the Web Application Root directory is computed as the directory containing the WEB-INF folder (which should contain the web.xml file).
    All web app resources (JSP files, image, css files, etc) are expected to be under the Web Application Root directory (at any nested directory level).
    We will enhance this behavior in the future to support arbitrary directory structures.

    Hi every one..
    we have two projects one is developed in ASP and one is developed in JSP both are running in two different locations.
    now i want to include a jsp file from one project to ASP file in the other project.

    Wouldn't that be an ASP question for an ASP forum?

  • How to call a repeater within a jsp file in web portal

    Hello, I wrote a Timer javascript to create a Timer thread that keep running and repeating for every 5 seconds. Basically, this javascript includes a StartTimer(), StopTimer() and UpdateTimer(), I also have a repeater to retrieve data from Oracle Dataabse and diplay them on the screen. Here are the codes
    =======================================================
    <table border="1">
    <netui-data:repeater dataSource="{pageFlow.trackData}" >
    <netui-data:repeaterHeader>
    <tr>
    <!-- create row header for each column -->
    <td style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:14pt;color:#0000ff;">TrackNumber</td>
    <td style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:14pt;color:#0000ff;">Latitude</td>
    <td style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:14pt;color:#0000ff;">Longitude</td>
    <td style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:14pt;color:#0000ff;">Altitude</td>
    <td style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:14pt;color:#0000ff;">Course</td>
    <td style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:14pt;color:#0000ff;">Speed</td>
    <td style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:14pt;color:#0000ff;">Time</td>
    </tr>
    </netui-data:repeaterHeader>
    <tr>
    <netui-data:repeaterItem>
    <!-- these will make the repeater insert data in table rows -->
    <td><netui:label value="{container.item}" defaultValue=" "></netui:label></td>

    <% if (j > 6) { %>

    My question is how do (can I) call those codes repeater above within the StartTimer() in Javascript or the funtion run() in the class Monitor, which will will be called continuously every 5 seconds, whenever I click on the button Start. Right now, it seems to me that whenever the portal starts, then those repeater codes are executed just once and are not executed when I click on the start button to call the start() in javascripts/run() in the class Monitor.
    PS. I include the codes for two different Timers but in my portal there is only one Timer and I can pick one of those, whichever works better. Please help
    Thank you

    It might compile perfectly well, but the message suggests that you didn't deploy it properly. The class loader can't find it.
    That .class file should appear with its package directory structure under the WEB-INF/classes directory or in a JAR in your WEB-INF/lib directory in some WAR file. Does it?

  • How to store data in KM from a JSP file

    Hi
    In our portal we have a JSP file with a text view where the user can add notes/things to remember etc. I need somewhere to store that information. I don't want to store it directly on the portalserver or the backendsystem. Is there a way to store the information of each user in KM from the jsp page? Is there a service/api I can use ?
    Thanks
    /Jakob

    Hi
    I used following code to upload file in km using wd java:
    /*Get an object of current Portal user */ IWDClientUser wdClientUser =
    WDClientUser.getCurrentUser(); com.sap.security.api.IUser sapUser = wdClientUser.getSAPUser();
    /*create an ep5 user from the retrieved user
    IUser ep5User =WPUMFactory.getUserFactory().getEP5User(sapUser);
    ResourceContext context = new ResourceContext(ep5User);
    /*Give the path to KM in the variable path */
    RID rid = RID.getRID(path);
    IResourceFactory factory =
    ResourceFactory.getInstance();
    ICollection folder = (ICollection) factory.getResource(rid,context);
    Using the upload element we can upload the files to a location in the server drive
    /*temperory location for writing */
    String location = u201Cgive the location hereu201D;
    String fileName = location+fileelement.getFilename();
    file = new File(fileName);
    /Create an output stream for writing to the temperory location/
    FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(file);
    out.write(fileelement.getFiledata());
    out.close();
    /From the temporary location read the file using an input stream/
    FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream(fileName);
    fin.read();
    /*Using this input stream we can write to the repository
    Content content = new Content(fileelement.getFiledata(),fileelement.get) */
    Content content = new Content(fin,"byte", -1);
    IResource newResource = folder.createResource(fileelement.getFilename(),null, content);
