Lock or disable when not in location

Is there such an app using the location service that would lock the iOS or even disable it if the device is not within let's say 1 mile of the specified GPS coordinates?

Hello there, kenfromcoral springs.
The following Knowledge Base article offers some great steps for troubleshooting your cellular data connection:
iPhone: Troubleshooting a cellular data connection
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3780
Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
Restart your iPhone.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrierto report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restore the iPhone as new.
Contact your carrier to:
Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,
Pedro.

  • Finding an unknown IP Address when not on location

I'm not sure if this is even possible, but i thought i'd ask.
Is there any way to find an IP address of one of my computers that is at a different location? I am at my office, and I would like to connect to my other computer at my other office down the road, however if I don't know the IP address I cannot do this. Getting the IP is not a problem if I am at that location, but if this situation arises again, is there a way to find out a computer's IP address without being on that computer's LAN?

I am sorry to tell you, but this would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Do you have a domain, or other people at the office you would like to connect to? Are you using anything special like a remote access server or a VPN connection?

  • How set auto lock to disable when on handsfree

    hi
I have a 3g and just got a new MKi9200 parrot hansfree thing which is oretty cool. as I am using NDrive sat nav ( also v cool for 9.99) is there a way to set auto lock so screen stays on when on handsfree or do I have to change it in settings each time?
    cheers
    tommy b.

There is no real way to stop it yourself if you are just sitting at the home screen or in some app that doesn't provide a setting to block auto lock unless you manually change it yourself when you want.
For me, I have a few apps that have a setting in them to block the autolock thus the developer was able to add that ability into their app.
If you are saying you have up the NDrive Sat Nav app and wish it didn't auto lock on you, then it is on that developer to provide that functionality into their app.

  • V6 locks up 1m at a time when browsing all week, now it won't load at all: (procedure entry point sqlite_libversion_number_IP could not be located in the dynamic link library mozqlite3.dll.

When you try to load Firefox 6.0 the following error message is thrown and browser will not load:
The procedure entry point sqlite_libversion_number_IP could not be located in the dynamic link library mozqlite3.dll.

"The procedure entry point QTCF_CRUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane could not be located in the dynamic link libray QTCF.dll."
That one is usually caused by a misplaced older version of QTCF.dll.
If you've got a 32-bit vista, first look to see if there's a copy of QTCF.dll lurking in your C:\Windows\system32\ folder. If you find one there, drag it out onto the desktop.
If you've got a 64-bit vista, first look to see if there's a copy of QTCF.dll lurking in your C:\Windows\sysWOW64\ folder. If you find one there, drag it out onto the desktop.
Now try launching iTunes again. Does it launch properly this time?

  • What do I do when I try to open Fifrefox 4 & get the message: The procedure entry point NS_SetDllDirectory could not be located in the dynamic link library xul.dll?

2 days ago, I got a message about upgrading to Firefox 4.0. I didn't do it immediately, due to lack of time. Later that day, I tried to open Firfox & got the message: Firefox can't start because xul.dll is missing. Reinstall the program to fix this. I tried several times to open Firefox & got the same result. I tried rebooting. Same result. So I opened Internet Explorer & went to the Firefox website & followed the instructions to download Firefox 4. After that, I used it last night & left my laptop hibernating last night, then continued to use it this morning. Then I closed Firefox. When I next tried to reopen Firefox, I got the new message: The procedure entry point NS_SetDllDirectory could not be located in the dynamic link library xul.dll. Again, I can only access the internet with Internet Explorer. Also, I have a done a good many Windows updates over the last 2 days as well. What can I do to get Firefox to open? Thank you for your help.

This is what I did to resolve this problem. First, I uninstalled Firefox 4 & removed the Firefox folder left behind. I made sure to NOT select the option to delete personal information. Next, I backed up all of the important files on my computer. Next, I upgraded my Windows 7 to Service Pack 1, which was pending in my updates folder. Then, I went to Mozilla's website & downloaded Firefox 4 again, making sure to select only the Firefox browser and not Thunderbird too. http://www.mozilla.org/ When prompted to close any open programs, I closed Internet Explorer (which I had used to get to the Mozilla website) and I disabled my Norton anti-virus. I then completed the installation & it works just fine now. It loaded all of my personal data, such as bookmarks, it remembered my password, etc. It's fine for my needs, as I'm not a heavy user of special add-ons & plug-ins. Some of those may not work yet with the new version.

  • When I try to open Firefox, I get an error message that begins "The procedure entry point ?CreateDrawTargetForCairoSurface@Factory...could not be located..."

When I try to open Firefox, I get an error message that reads "The procedure entry point ?CreateDrawTargetForCairoSurface@Factory@gfx@mozilla@@SA?AV?$TemporaryRef@VDrawTarget@gfx@mozilla@@@3@PAU_cairo_surface@@ABUIntSize@23@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library gkmedias.dll.
My only option is to click okay in the Error Message Box, but Firefox will not open then.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.

    *(64 bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 17.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

  • G5-Mirror Door Locks when not connected to Ethernet

G5-1.25mz Mirror Door, just got a new hard drive and a complete, start from basic clean install with 10.4.7 disc. When NOT connected to the ethernet (thru the appropriate Cat5 cable), the unit runs fine. BUT WHEN HOOKED UP TO THE ETHERNET, IT LOCKS UP ALMOST IMMEDIATELY.
What has died, where. No other unit in the studio is suffering from ethernet issues. We have tried hooking this unit up to alternate locations, and it still happens.

hmm..that is interesting. so, you are saying the unit runs normally until you plug in a cat5 cable to the ethernet port?
well, that is not run of the mill at all.
if you have already tried different locations, different cables, different hubs, etc... then next is to assume it is the computer causing the issue.
you can reset your network settings to a default to see if that fixes it.
quickest way is to remove /library/preference/systemconfiguratin folder and then restart. ( this will reset your network settings completely
i would also try a PMU reset.

  • Receive location using SBMessaging adapter disabled when Azure service bus is down

Does anybody experience  SBMessaging receive locations are disabled when Azure service bus is unavailable with a MessagingCommunicationException?  Is this an expected behavior / 'by design'? We see this exception a few times a day.  I don't
see any retry attempts based on the event log.  Our current solution is to have a powershell script that enables the receive location if it's disabled.  This script runs every 15 minutes.  Below is a sample of the error in the event log.
The receive location "Warnings_SB_New" with URL "XXXXXX" is shutting down. Details:"System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Error during communication with Service Bus. Check the connection information, then retry. --->

After installing a new version of Firefox, I get the error message "The procedure entry point JS_GetOperationLimit could not be located in the dynamic link library js3250.dll" when I try to start firefox. Elsewhere in the forum a complete reinstall is suggested; however, I can't do that because of my company's IT policies. Is there any way to solve this problem WITHOUT a complete reinstall? Thank you!

If you can't reinstall Firefox yourself then you need to contact your IT department and ask them to check the Firefox installation.
It is possible that some files got broken with the latest update.

When starting Windows 7 Sync Notifier reports "The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll." Any suggestions as to how to rectify this issue?

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well
In case that your OS is (64 bit)
    1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
    3. Now paste it in the folder  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    4. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

  • When I boot my computer i get a message that says The Procedure entry point_NSConcreteStackBlock could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreFoundation.dll.

When I start up my laptop I get an error message that says 'The Procedure entry point_NSConcreteStackBlock could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreFoundation.dll. I have tried to uninstall itunes and all its files, I have tried to install safari, i have tried to repair Apple application support but still when I boot laptop, I get the message....I am at a loss as to what will cure this!

You should have one copy of CoreFoundation.dll in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple Application Support or C:\Program Files (x68)\Common Files\Apple Application Support if this is a 64-bit Windows.
The detailed file properties should be as shown.
If the file you have is correct check to see if there is another copy in the main iTunes folder. If so delete it and see if that helps.
Otherwise try uninstalling/deleting folders/reinstalling iTunes again. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for more details. Your issue looks a bit like it might be a variation of the issue in the first box.
Also worth checking that you have uninstalled the MobileMe control panel and any third party software that might try to talk to iTunes.
