Lock_record, then how do I unlock it?

Group,
I have a form that has a multi row view. To be able to edit a given row, the user wants to have the edit in a dialog window. So to ensure data concurency, I want to lock the record before going to the edit window. But the user has an option of canceling the edit. So I need to be able to unlock the record. How do I unlock that given record?
So far my only solution seems to be issuing a forms_ddl('rollback'); followed by a requery of the block. Not very elegant. The rollback gets rid of the lock in the DB, but for some reason the forms record manager still thinks there is a lock because it won't issue another select for update untill the block has been requeried.
thanks.

How about this:
Do not use the Forms editor. Instead, when user "edits" the field, display the contents in an item in a control block placed on a stacked canvas, with all the display settings such that it "looks like" an editor window.
Now, if the user updates the data and exits the editor, you can just replace the text in the source item with the text in the control-block edited item, and standard row-locking will occur.
And if the user cancels, you have not locked the original row.
Of course, if the user has made lots of changes to the data in the item, he will lose all the changes if the row is locked or has already been changed by another user -- he won't get those messages up front like he would with standard Forms input processing.

    Dear Sir/Madam
when i was update my i phone there is no detcted sim card
    where raised the problem
now iam using iphone 3gs iOS 6.1.3
then how can i unlock iphone pls do need full

When you updated your phone it locked to the orginal carrier.  My guess is the phon ewas hacked to unlock it and now you have updated it has locked it again.  You need a sim from the orginal carrier to activate the phone and then if you wan to use it with a different carrier you have the orginal carrier unlock it for you

  • I was on my Iphone 4 and i updated it and then it said that the sim was locked how do i unlock it?

i was on my Iphone 4 and i updated it and then it said that the sim was locked how do i unlock it?
i upgraded it to the newest update and it came up sim locked enter three digit number to activate and then on the internet it said to restore it so i did that and now it says Sim locked insert a valid sim with no pin to activate :/

The ONLY place that can unlock a locked iphone is the carrier to which it is locked ( if they offer this service).
It sounds as if you may have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone and it locked back to the carrier when updated ( as it should if it is hacked).

There is no such thing as an unlock code.   Sprint may have processed the unlock, and then requested you restore the iPhone using iTunes to complete it. But that's it. There is no code to enter, and nowhere to enter it any way.

  • How can I unlock my UK phone for AUS use when sourced from UK Apple Store (so without service provider to do it for me)?

So my Aus iPhone that I had unlocked to do a bit of travelling went for a swim in the Med- my service provider back home informed me that in order to claim on insurance internationally that I should get a new one from an Apple Store and send them the bill etc etc. I did that, and all was fine with the rest of my trip on a prepaid UK sim.  Now I am home and want to put my AUS sim in (where I am under postpaid contract) but my iPhone is not recognising it, with an error message of 'Invalid Sim'.  My service provider cannot help as the product was sourced from Apple originally and not them. Can someone let me know how this can be fixed?

Okay, so if you purchased your iPhone from an Apple store in the UK then it is fully unlocked.  Apple in the UK sell fully and officially unlocked iPhones, so you should not have a problem with inserting any sim card into your phone.  The phone will be unlocked as long as you purchased the phone in the UK for the full purchase price and not as sim free rather than unlocked.
Have a word with your provider, as there could possibly be a problem with your sim card.  Get a new sim card and try that.  There is no reason why this should not work on an unlocked iPhone.

  • My Ipad is in a locked rotation.  How can I unlock it?  carolynmunson

My Ipad is in a locked rotation.  How can I unlock it?  carolynm.

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

You do not have to restore as new.  You can restore fom backup since the screen-lock passcode isnot in the backup.  ALso, if  iTunes asks for the passcode andyu can't enter the passcode place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode:

    Hi,
Try a Reset of the Phone... You will Not Lose Any Data...
    Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
    Turn the Phone On...

  • I have forgot my Iphone passcode. Itunes will not let me restore it, i do not have icloude,or find my iphone, and the closest itunes store is 4 hours away how can i unlock, or reset my phone?

I have forgot my Iphone passcode. Itunes will not let me restore it, i do not have icloude,or find my iphone, and the closest itunes store is 4 hours away how can i unlock, or reset my phone?

    Try this:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
