Locking Table width for newsletter???

I have been requested to create a newsletter that looks the same as the site. Of course, the client wants to email the newletter in html format and css does not work. I have 3 columns. The first contains an image, so I don't have to be concerned about that one. The second is to be the major content, and the third needs to have monthly specials in it. Even if I remove the third column, the second (content) column continues to expand width wise. I have not worked solely with html for quite some years. Any ideas as to how to keep the newsletter to a width of 800px and better yet, to keep that second column from expanding?

Once text is added, the column width is ignored and expands. I have built it to expand in height, but this expands right off the page width-wise.
I noticed through the link that you posted that gmail is my major concern with adding css. I guess I'm going
to have to create the newsletter with css and do the usual link if you can't
read the email or if anyone has html turned off in their email client. I guess that's the way to go, anyway.

I've never used dynamically changing popup items variable before, and I'm not sure it will work(?)
But, if it's displaying a long string, it does not sound like 'items' is being assigned a proper table yet.
I don't know what you mean by a "chunk" of values. I assume you mean table.
In any case, if SYPNEventResults[1].title is a string, then SYPNEventResults[1].value can be any legal lua type.
Likewise for SYPNEventResults[2], SYPNEventResults[3], ...
If you can index/display the title with this syntax, e.g. LrDialogs.message( SYPNEventResults[1].title ), then the popup should be initialized thusly:

if a function is returning multiple values, then to get it into a table "array", do this:

Is there a way I can use Dreamweaver, perhaps with CSS, to
add a table to my site that is set to a fixed width of, say 850
pixels but have the text inside the table wrap properly when
printing? I know that fixed width tables beyond about 760 pixels
cause the text to flow off the page when printed from some
browsers, and we usually control this using a percentage to
determine the table width. In this case, though, we'd like to use a
fixed width when the content is viewed on screen, but have the text
wrap when printing before it reaches the right margin of the fixed
width table. Make sense?

Have two stylesheets which control the width of the table.
Make the screen
media stylesheet set its width in pixels and the print media
stylesheet set
it in percents.

How do you change/adjust border width for all the cells in a table created in Pages?
Note- I am trying to figure out how to create and format tables in the latest version of the Pages app on an iPad air (iOS 8.1.1.1) . Creating tables, adding or removing borders for individual/all cells in a table seems straight forward. However the default border style seems to be a heavy black line. How do I change this?
I found the option add or remove borders for all/ individual cells in a table, however I can't find any option within style/format dialogue screens for changing colour or line thickness for table cells. Likewise I can't find any clear instructions on how to do this in apple help pages or support website
Btw- I'm assuming it is possible to customize/adjust the colour & thickness of selected lines in a table created in this app (it's fairly easy to do this word processing apps like MS Word) please let me know if this is not actually possible in Pages

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

How to set initial column widths for a table

What I'd like to do is to control the initial column widths for a table.
I'm building the table by using a class which extends AbstractTableModel. This class takes care of setting the headers and reading the data for the table.
If I do the following:

JTable jt = new JTable(vtm);
JScrollPane jsp = new JScrollPane(jt);
frame.getContentPane().add(jsp);
frame.setVisible(true);
I will see a table in my window. The widths of the columns are equal and are a function of the horizontal dimension of the window.
I have tried to set the width of a column by doing the following:
TableColumn aColumn;
aColumn = jt.getColumn(vtm.getColumnName(0));
aColumn.setWidth(40);
But this has no effect on what gets displayed. I can force the widths that I want by using 'setMaxWidth' but this has the unfortunate side effect of not allowing the user to make the column wider if they want.
What I'd like is a way to specify the widths of the columns when initially displayed and then let the user adjust to their liking.
I'm sure that there is a way to do this, but I don't seem to understand where to intervene in the process to produce the effect that I want.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

If I do the above, the table gets displayed with each of the five columns the exact same width. So, the sizing of the columns is happening somewhere else despite turning auto resizing off.
Where is that occurring and how can I intervene so that I can control the widths of the columns on initial display and still allow the user to adjust the widths if they so choose?

Select the column headers and drag across (A,B,C for example) then select between one of the columns (your pointer will change shape). Select and drag to the new width. All selected columns will change.

Table width are different for IE, than with MZFX & GLE

Lock table for update in adf

dear all ,
am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.3 with oracle database 10g,
now what i need to do is when inserting a new row in one of my entities i need to lock the entire database table until the commit happen...
i'll explain to u why I need to do this,,, let say that the table x contains the following columns
x_pk number, ( which is the primary key )
x_serial number,
x_type varchar2 );
now am getting x_pk from a sequence on a database so its not a problem,
but for x_serial it needs to be serialized per x_type , now in oracle forms developer i used to do the following in per-insert trigger on the block level-->
lock table for update then selecting the max serial per the type then use it for setting the :x_serial that is in the same block...
now in ADF , i should do this in the do_dml when the operation==DML_INSERT but am not sure what to write and if it will be working same as it was in the form developer

if the requirement is to lock an entire huge table to prevent any users from performing any update statement, which statement has more performance gain and why: LOCK TABLE or select fro update nowait?
is there any overhead of using LOCK TABLE statement?

The reason I said to revoke update privilege is because I do not understand the requirement. Why do you want to prevent users from updating the table? I am assuming that users should never be allowed to update the table. In that case locking the table and select for update would be no good. If you want to stop users from updating while some one else is updating, why? All the lock table or select for update will do is cause their session to wait (hang) until the locking process commits or rolls back. This could generate a few (sic) complaints that the user application is slow/freezing.
If you can state the business problem, perhaps we can offer a solution.

Unfortunately, once you make the copy, the only way to remap the items that it references is to do it manually.
However, in the extended copy wizard, you do get a chance to keep this from happening at the time the copy is made. By default, as you've learned, the new copy wants to continue to reference the items that the old copy referenced.
But there are two other options, which are selectable for each of the referenced items. The checkmark will be on "Leave" - i.e. leave the references as is. You can check "Copy", which will make a copy of the referenced item and point the reference at the copy. Or you can check "Remap", which will re-map the reference to a different existing item. Remap will lead you to another screen, where you can choose what existing item each remapped item will now reference.

Set the table's width for TableView

I am creating a new TableView with few columns and I am trying to set the width for the entire table. I searched the API but it only gives me setMaxWidth. I tried but, it didn't work. Can anyone suggest me how to set the tables width.
I am doing this:
private TableView<XYZ> table = new TableView<XYZ>();
table.setMaxWidth(600);
table.setLayoutX(15);
table.resize(40, 40);
But nothing really changed the entire table's width.

In BI 7, I encountered an issue with lock.
The load failed due to lock . Im in the step to delete the failed request and reconstruct
In this situation , i am receiving the following message
"Cannot lock request "requestnumber " of table 0BPartner for deletion"
And I am unable to delete the request
Please let me know the resolution as soon as possible. Ur help is highly appreciated

MM42 change material, split valuation at batch level, M301, locking table

Dear All,
I'm working on ECC 6.0 retail and I have activated split valuation at batch level. Now in MBEW for this specific material I have almost 14.400 entries.
If I try to change some material data (MM42) I receive an error message M3021 A system error has occurred while locking and then Lock table overflow.
I used SM12 to see the table (while MM42 is still running) and it seems that MBEW is the problem.
What should I do? For any material modification the system has to modify every entry in MBEW? Is there any possibility to skip this?

The lock table has overflowed.
Cause 1: Dimensions of the lock table are too small
Cause 2: The update lags far behind or has shut down completely, so that the lock entries of the update requests that are not yet updated cause the lock table to overflow.
Cause 3: Poor design of the application programs. A lock is issued for each object in an application program, for example a collective run with many objects.
Solution
Determine the cause:
SM12 -> Goto -> Diagnosis (old)
SM12 -> Extras -> Diagnosis (new)
checks the effectiveness of the lock management
SM12 -> Goto -> Diagnosis in update (old)
SM12 -> Extras -> Diagnosis in update (new)
checks the effectiveness of the lock management in conjunction with updates
SM12 -> OkCode TEST -> Error handling -> Statistics (old, only in the enqueue server)
SM12 -> Extras -> Statistics (new)
shows the statistics of the lock management, including the previous maximum fill levels (peak usage) of the partial tables in the lock table
If the owner table overflows, cause 2 generally applies.
In the alert monitor (RZ20), an overrunning of the (customizable) high-water marks is detected and displayed as an alert reason.
The size of the lock table can be set with the profile parameter u201Cenque/table_size =u201C. specifies the size of the lock table in kilobytes. The setting must be made in the profile of the enqueue server ( u2026_DVEBM.. ). The change only takes effect after the restart of the enqueue server.
The default size is 500 KB in the Rel 3.1x implementation of the enqueue table. The resulting sizes for the individual tables are:
Owner table: approx 560.
Name table: approx 560.
Entry table: approx 2240.
As of Rel 4.xx the new implementation of the lock table takes effect.
It can also be activated as described in note 75144 for the 3.1I kernel. The default size is 2000 KB. The resulting sizes for the individual tables are:
Owner table: approx 5400
Name table: approx 5400
Entry table: approx 5400
Example: with the
u201Cenque/table_size =32000u2033 profile parameter, the size of the enqueue table is set to 32000 KB. The tables can then have approx 40,000 entries.
Note that the above sizes and numbers depend on various factors such as the kernel release, patch number, platform, address length (32/64-bit), and character width (Ascii/Unicode). Use the statistics display in SM12 to check the actual capacity of the lock table.
If cause 2 applies, an enlargement of the lock table only delays the overflow of the lock table, but it cannot generally be avoided.
In this case you need to eliminate the update shutdown or accelerate the throughput of the update program using more update processes. Using CCMS (operation modes, see training BC120) the category of work processes can be switched at runtime, for example an interactive work process can be converted temporarily into an update process, to temporarily increase the throughput of the update.
For cause 3, you should consider a tuning of the task function. Instead of issuing a large number of individual locks, it may be better to use generic locks (wildcard) to block a complete subarea. This will also allow you to considerably improve the performance.

Lock tables when load data

Are there any way to lock tables when i insert data with SQL*Loader? or oracle do it for me automatically??

Are there any problem if in the middle of my load (and commits) an user update o query data ?The only problem that I see is that you may run short of undo space (rollback segment space) if your undo space is limited and the user is running a long SELECT query for example: but this problem would only trigger ORA-1555 for the SELECT query or (less likely since you have several COMMIT) ORA-16XX because load transaction would not find enough undo space.
Data is not visible to other sessions, unless, the session which is loading data, commits it. That's the way Oracle handle the read committed isolation level for transaction.

Or what happens if when i want to insert data someone has busy the table?You will get blocked if you try to insert data that has the same primary key as a row being inserted by a concurrent transaction.
