dest_offset
(IN) Offset in characters in the destination CLOB (origin: 1) for the start of the write. *(OUT) The new offset in characters right after the end of this load, which is also where the next load should start*. It always points to the beginning of the first complete character after the end of load. If the last character is not complete, offset goes back to the beginning of the partial character.
src_offset
(IN) Offset in bytes in the source BFILE (origin: 1) for the start of the read. *(OUT)Offset in bytes in the source BFILE right after the end of this read, which is also where the next read should begin*.

    I am able to do this successfully using:

    Is it not possible "load clob from file" from client side, files being on client and exec command via SQLPlus. Is there any other option to load data from client side.

  • SQL developer cannot see connection info from tnsnames.ora file

    Greetings All,
    I have been using sql developer for a while. Currently on 3.0.04.34.
    I have 16 database connections.
    Everything was working fine until yesterday.
    Today when I tried to connect to a database from the list of connections I am getting following error:
    Invalid connection information specified. Verify url format for specified driver.
    When I pull up the property for this connection -connection type is still TNS, Netwrok Alias is now greyed out and what was in Netwrok Alias has shifted to Connect Identifier.
    When I try to create a new connection I do not see entry from tnsnames.ora file for the databse I am trying to connect to in the Network Alias drop down list.
    I can connect to this database from sqlplus.
    Has anyone seen this behavior? Does any one know the fix for this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Maybe your preference settings got corrupted, or the Tnsnames.ora file got moved to somewhere SQL Developer can't find it.
    Are you using either:
    1. Tools|Preferences|Database|Advanced|Tnsnames Directory, or a
    2. TNS_ADMIN environment variable
    to point to your Tnsnames? Having one of those should enable the Network Alias drop-down list to get populated. Otherwise, if the values moved to Connection Identifier are correct, then you won't be to connect in that mode without also having an Oracle client installed with an 11.1 JDBC thick driver (ocijdbc11.dll).
    If there is no issue with the Tnsnames. ora location, it might be a good idea to use Export Connections to make a backup of your connections. Then you can try deleting the connections from SQL Developer and re-importing them. Even if that doesn't fix the problem, you should be no worse off.

  • How do I Load a clob from an XML field in an XMLTYPE using XMLTABLE ?

    I am trying to load data into a CLOB from a XML field using XMLTABLE.
    I have a SUMMARY xml field with over 100 K of data (potentialy)
    and I can load all the other datatype fields to columns but can not load the xml fields over 4000 characters.
    example
    First I create a table of XMLTYPE. I need to sqlload new files in at regular intervals.
    Create table WEB_XML of XMLTYPE;
    Then I create my relational table....
    create table WEB_WORKING
    request_id varchar(10),
    ref_number varchar(20),
    summary clob
    The I use the .ctl file to sqlload the xml data in
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE WEB_XML
    append
    xmltype(XMLDATA)
    ext_fname filler char(90),
    XMLDATA LOBFILE(ext_fname) TERMINATED BY EOF
    BEGINDATA
    XMLFILE1.xml
    After loading the WEB_XML table using sqlldr, I try to load my relational table using XMLTable
    INSERT into WEBBAR_WORKING
    request_id ,
    ref_number ,
    summary
    SELECT X.* FROM WEB_XML P2,
    XMLTable ( '//Request//REQUESTVIEW'
    PASSING P2.object_value
    COLUMNS
    "request_id" VARCHAR(10) PATH 'REQUEST_ID',
    "ref_number" VARchar(20) PATH 'REF_NUMBER',
    "SUMMARY" clob PATH 'SUMMARY'
    ) AS X;
    This gives an error saying its not expecting clob
    My XML looks somthing like
    -<Request>
    -<REQUESTVIEW>
    <REQUEST_ID>3140</REQUEST_ID>
    <ref_number>2003-04-02</RECEIVED_DATE>
    <SUMMARY>
    OVER 100 K of data
    </SUMMARY>
    </REQUESTVIEW>
    </Request>

    ok
    that helped lot, im getting there however some more help please
    This SQL
    SELECT request_id, recieved_by, X.SUMMARY.getClobVal()
    FROM WEB_XML P2,
    XMLTable
    '//Request//REQUESTVIEW'
    PASSING P2.object_value
    COLUMNS
    "request_id" VARCHAR(10) PATH 'REQUEST_ID',
    "received_by" VARCHAR(10) PATH 'RECEIVED_BY',
    "SUMMARY" xmltype PATH 'SUMMARY'
    ) AS X;
    SELECT request_id, recieved_by, X.SUMMARY.getClobVal()
    ERROR at line 1:

    If I use the X.request_id, X.received_by ......
    i get the error message
    Package or function is in aan invalid state.
    But this SQL was successful in getting the clob by itself but with the XML tgs around it still, how do I strip the XML tags from around this result ?
    SELECT X.SUMMARY.getClobVal()
    FROM WEBBAR_XML P2,
    XMLTable
    '//Request//REQUESTVIEW'
    PASSING P2.object_value

  • How to transform data received from file adapter

    hi',
    I am reading the data from XML file using file adapter, now I want to write the same contents which I have read from this file to a different/new XML file, the issue is I am unable to perform a transform here, when I use a transform with source element as the output of the file read and target as the input to the new file it is writing an empty file,
    I have checked the audit trail which showsme that the transform is empty.
    please tell me how can I transform the element which I have received from one file to make them as input to next file

    3.) File adapter > write operation ---> invoke activity
    Now when I am deploying this process it is sucessfully completing and able to read the file.
    when I check the audit trail receive activity shows XML data but when I check the transform it

  • How to transformed data from File to DB but the data to be insert two tables  parallel?

    Hi friends ,I am new to Oracle SOA ,I have one requirement  for the project
    actually in these project
    1.I have to read three different types of files (Employee info,Purchase Order Info,Salaes Order Info) through file adapter these records are to be store in  data base
    transaction table.In these transaction table contains WHO columns and payload  with clob data type which contains each  record  in xml form.
    2. Now I have to  take these payload data  which is in xml form and store   in the respective table(employee or PO or SO) .I have to call these in dynamically.
    so please give me ideas and suggesstions ,,
    thanks in advance

    Roger,
    I don't know about simple way to load data from file into a table using button from your application,
    Maybe some piece of PL/SQL code with UTL_FILE or DBMS_LOB, or you can try to upload file to database using Apex "File browse" item, and then do some processing with DBMS_LOB... but it will require some work...
    Maybe someone else could advice with some simple method I don't know...
    However loading files using Apex Load Utility is quite easy.
    You can use something like this to load data to views created on remote tables:
    CREATE TABLE local_tmp_table AS SELECT * FROM view_on_remote_table WHERE 1=0;
    --load data from file to created table using Apex Load utility
    INSERT INTO view_on_remote_table SELECT * FROM local_tmp_table;
    COMMIT;
    DROP local_tmp_table;Or without views:
    CREATE TABLE local_tmp_table AS SELECT * FROM remote_table@dblink WHERE 1=0;
    --load data from file to created table using Apex Load utility
    INSERT INTO remote_table@dblink SELECT * FROM local_tmp_table;
    DROP local_tmp_table;Regards

    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Did you can, under sql*plus :
    select * from xx@XXCSS_APPS_CTS.COM;Maybe the user which used for the dblink has not the grant as well.

    I found the installActions file in the installer folder and I think this could be the problem
    INFO: The 'shiphomeproperties.xml' file is missing from shiphome location '/home/oracle/Desktop/database/install/../stage/products.xml.' Add this file to the 'Disk1/stage' directory of the shiphome.
    though I am attaching the log file for more details do you think the installer is corrupt :(

  • Cannot deploy process flow package specification from file

    Hi,
    we are using owb 11gr2 on linux. We successfully managed to deploy mappings and tables into a specification file, and then deploy from that file into the target database (RAC). But when we try to deploy a process flow package we run into an error:
    A process flow package can be deployed to a specification file. But a deployment from that specification file fails with the error: " OMB05623: Cannot deploy specification from file. Exception follows. nulll"
    ### SETUP
    set CONN_DESIGN "xxx"

    ###OMB05623: Cannot deploy specification from file. Exception follows. nullIf we use the operation DROP it works. But REPLACE and CREATE do not work.
    We get the error regardless whether the code is executed as an expert or on the command line at a windows client.
    Does anyone knows a workaround?
    Deployment via a specification file is a must due to license and architecture requirements.
    Thanks,
    Carsten.

    Its woked fine for me for OWB 10.2.0.4 .... some steps are missing from code like
    when you are connecting again it should be
    OMBDISCONNECT
    OMBCONNECT CONTROL_CENTER $CONN_TARGET_RT
    OMBDISCONNECT
    OMBCC '/KLINGEL_DWH'
    OMBCONNECT CONTROL_CENTER $CONN_TARGET_RTI think you can try the same on different system .

    Many thanks

    Hi Foreverduy,
    Before you run SQL Server 2008 express setup, make sure that you have installed Windows installer 4.5 and.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 manually. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.100).aspx. Moreover, please turn off all the third-party softwares which could prohibit the installation process.
    According to your error message, the issue could be due to that your account has no rights to install SQL Server, or the corruption on the media.
    Firstly, please ensure that your account has admin rights. Also make sure that you right-click the setup.exe and choose “Run as administrator” to complete the installation.
    Secondly, please check if "msdbdata.mdf" file exists at d:\8268cd7b247d294de359c9\x86\setup\sql_engine_core_inst_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\MSSQL.X\MSSQL\Binn\Template. If it exists, please make sure that your account has read permission to the extracted
    folder.
    However, if the file doesn't exist in the extraction, the media could be corrupt. Please download the
    media
    again and check if the issue still occurs.
    Regards,
    Michelle Li
