SQL Developer locks after splash screen

I have succesfully installed SQL Developer on 2 machines in our group and it works fine. However on the machine where we really need it (mine) it absolutely refuses to work.
It appears to start up, the splash screen appears and the sqldeveloper.exe appears in the machine's task list but thats it! The splash screen stays on the screen until I click on it and then disappears.
I have tried the version with the built in SDK and I have also downloded the SDK from Sun and tried the version without the accompanying SDK. I have also de-installed all the Java SDK and runtime versions on the machine and re-installed those that were needed. Same result.
At this stage I called in our Java development guru who twiddled and tweaked during 30 minutes...same result.
If I execute sqldeveloper.exe from within the jdev\bin folder I see the following in a DOS box:

Apparently it has something to do with remote procedure call. When I open the other game, I get same errors as the above, the only thing which has changed being name of the app.
Graphics shouldn't be a problem since these games have ALREADY run once, but not now, and I have other heavy-graphic games like Asphalt 8 Airborne which still WORKS.
I've also tried re-installing but in vain, duh. Looking for help badly. I'd appreciate any help.

SQL Developer Locking up/Unable to Cancel long Running tasks

I have had the same problem with a number of versions of SQL Developer (and version 3.2.09). It occurs when trying to cancel a long-running PL-SQL Function or procedure that has been started by 'Run' in SQL Developer.
Select Terminate in Run Manager does not stop the job. Nor does trying to exit SQLDeveloper; it asks whether I want to kill the job; then doesn't kill it and doesn't exit either.
Trying to save modifications to anything the process depends on results in SQL Developer locking for ~20 minutes.
I have to resort to getting a DBA to manually kill the process at the server.
Is there any possiblity of a workaround or a way of making the PL/SQL not lock so it can be terminated please?

SQL Developer "Locks-Up" when Expanding Synonym Folder

It appears that every time I try and expand the Synonyms folder for a database user with many synonyms (hundreds?) SQL Developer hangs. If I try and stop the loading synonyms by cancelling the task (View Task Progress -> Cancel), the "Loading" process continues, the database connection is locked, and I can't close SQL Developer (short of killing the application via Task Manager). To re-create the issue, try connecting to an eBusiness Suite database as APPS and expand the Synonyms folder. Is this a know issue, it seems like an obvious bug?

You are correct, this is an obvious bug -- at least for connections to a remote database. I logged an internal bug for this:

A similar old bug is:
Bug 6618400 - CANCEL ON PUBLIC SYNONYMS QUERY HAS NO EFFECT.
Perhaps the reason this bad behavior hasn't gotten more attention is the existence of the 'Apply Filter...' feature available in the context menu for all object nodes. Filtering has progressed far beyond the state commented about in this old forum post:

After Effects CC Crashing Immediately After Splash Screen?

Hey guys, installed cretive cloud recently with a full licence but most of the programs seem to crash straight away after the splash screen. After Effects, Premier, Photoshop and Media Encoder all seem to do this. Tried signing in, resigning in, uninstalling, using the adobe cleaner and re-install but still the same. Any ideas why this might be Thanks.

If you don't have any pressing projects, you could try completely wiping everything off and then reinstalling.
It's just so odd...
Perhaps Mylenium might have some ideas as he's more technically-minded than I.
If you don't get any more good suggestions here, contacting Adobe Support isn't a bad idea.

App builder keeps hanging after splash screen images added

After I upload all my splash screens for SD and HD, I cannot proceed to the next screen.
There are green checks next to HD and SD, and all looks good.
I have not uploaded any fonts as there is no HTML in the app.
I have deleted and re-downloaded the app builder and still get the same behavior.

The problem was that one of the images had a resolution of 72.09 instead of an even 72. after I changed it it worked. Thanks.

I ended up going into my local apple store and they managed to reset it with their software - it'll save you mucking around for ages if you tried everything like I did. Good luck.

Illustrator/indesign and premire pro cc 2014 crashes after splash screen

Hi, I can't figure out whats going on, I had CC running fine, the 2014 updates came and all software except photoshop crash after the splash screen. I have done everything I could think of. Verified fonts, I've uninstalled and re-installed creative cloud and the software. I ran adobe cleaner which get rid of the original CC software (I didn't want that to happen) I've deleted preferences, ran disk permissions and repair. CS6 software install and runs.
I am lost to say the least as to why photoshop CC 2014 works and yet, the others crash. Any Ideas?

The steps to get the crash log are:
1) Open the finder app.
2) Press command +shift + g to open the "Go to the folder" dialog.
3) In the text edit field type "~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports".
4) This will take you the DiagnosticReports folder.
5) Please share the latest crash log file from this folder.

Premiere Pro not loading after splash screen, can't find fix on forums.

Fresh install, doesn't matter what I do to this machine, memcheck came out ok. I click on Premiere Pro CS3 icon loads splash screen, then kicks out an error code.

I have an amd 4800+ Dual Core and 3 gigs of ram. An Nvidia 8800gt with latest drivers installed for all of it. Running windows XP home sp 3 build 2600 More information on my system below.
I've re-installed 3 times, and even tried a clean install of vista. I've done the hold shift while loading and get the same issue no matter what. I've Deleted the premiere folder in local settings.

Loading screen after splash screen

Since the Beta 3 i have a loading screen ( screenshot joined ) after the splash screen, can i delete it? (By the way is there any possibility to use full screen splash screen and not only 6XX x 4XX image )

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "having a loading screen... after the splash screen." But if it's an image that you added via a visual you should be able to delete the image visual. The image visual can be as large as the
limit of the Screen.

After Effect CS6 crashes after splash screen

I cannot get After Effects to open. When I try to open the software, I get a splash screen, and then the window opens, but the it stops responding before the interface can appear. I thought the issue may have been my virus protection (norton), so I tried shutting down my firewall and restarting my computer. This seemed to work for me the first time I tried it; After Effect opened and everything seemed to work fine, but the next time I started the computer and opened the software it continued to crash, and what I thought was the solution no longer worked. Premiere, Photoshop,and Audition work fine. However, the trial version of FX Home's software, Hitfilm 2, gives me the same problem as well. I have tried alot to get both of these programs to work with no success. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I might fix this.

Updated to 310.7 from 306.97, but still no luck. When after effect stops responding there is sometimes a dialog box asking me if I want to send my information. This dialog box does not always appear every time I try to open after effects, but when it does, this is the additional information it gives me:

SQL Developer hangs after each query

I have a strange situation that just started. After every query, SQL Developer 3.0.02 just hangs for about 20 seconds and then returns to normal. The times displayed for the query completion are correct - it's just the UI freeze. I am running under Vista against a 10R2 database. All was working fine since 1/13/11 until last Friday. Running with the included JDK.
Any idea what changed?

This could be related to a problem with SQL History. If you have SQL History open, it can slow things down drastically.

Captivate 5 crashes after splash screen

I've downloaded the trial version of Captivate 5 and every time I try to start the program, I can't get passed the splash screen.
I'm running:
Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit
i5 2.27 GHz
4 GB RAM
350+ GB memory available
Upon initial launch, program crashed and produced an error message: "Adobe Captivate is not responding." I changed the AdobeCaptivate.exe file properties to "Run this program in compatibility for: (tried all options)" and "Run this program as an administrator" and no luck. Making the file compatible to a previous OS version caused the file to simply freeze (rather than crash) but prevented the Trial Activation prompt when operating as compatible for versions earlier than Vista.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling 6 times, after following various recommendations on potential fixes. Have also tried:

Deleting the "amt3.log" file from the temp folder (saw this in a previous post, I guess to look for process errors)

I almost purchased Captivate 5 without downloading the trial version first. I'd still like to purchase it but not if I can't even get the trial version to work.

Hi and welcome to this forum.
It sounds like you've tried most of the usual fixes for this installation issue.
I'm only a regular user like yourself but I know that the Adobe developers watch this forum closely for any issues like the one you're having. They'll usually chime in pretty quickly to offer assistance via some kind of screen sharing session so that they can investigate what's happening.
Stay tuned and be patient. Help is on the way, but even developers need a weekend.
