Log Display Profile using BAL_DSP_LOG_DISPLAY

Hi Experts,
Im facing an upgrade on my client, from 4.6C to ECC 6.0, and we are facing somes problems using the FM BAL_DSP_LOG_DISPLAY.
The problem its that on the older version the Log appears on the log screen, but on the new version the screen appears but with a empty log.
We are using Z* log objects , but if we try with a standard one the log appears with all the mesaages.
I think it may be related with the parameter I_S_DISPLAY_PROFILE on BAL_DSP_LOG_DISPLAY function but im not sure.
Do we need to create a new profile in the newer  version  ?
This it's the code :
CALL FUNCTION 'BAL_LOG_CREATE'
       EXPORTING

        PERFORM f_msg_add USING '4'
                                t_msg.
    ENDCASE.
ENDLOOP.
  CALL FUNCTION 'BAL_DSP_LOG_DISPLAY'
       EXPORTING
            I_S_DISPLAY_PROFILE = I_S_DISPLAY_PROFILE "LUV 2007.03.07 " coment ACCMCARVALHO 24.09.09
            i_t_log_handle = t_log_handle

    MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE 'I' NUMBER sy-msgno
            WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.

Is there anything wrong?
Thanks in advance,

solved guys!
The solution was to add the profile parameter in the BAL_S_MSG_ADD FM.

  • Iphoto does not use the proper display profile

    Hello.
I just bought a 20' Apple Cinema display and connected it to my Macbook. I have noticed a very strange behavior of iPhoto and Preview.
I will first describe the expected (right behaviour).
When I drag an image opened in Adobe LG or Aperture from the Macbook display to the Cinema display (or the opposite) after a very small delay the color of the image adapts to the color profile of the display where it was dragged. Which is the correct the behavior.
With Preview or iPhoto this adaptation does not happen and the image is displayed with the right profile only on one of the 2 display. Besides being a very annoying issue, the very strange thing is how you can choose on which one of the displays the image gets displayed with the right display color profile:
    - With Preview, the display color profile used (for both displays) is selected based on which is the default display in ColorSync display settings.
    - With iPhoto, the display color profile used (for both displays) is selected based on which display the munu bar is (!!!). That is, if you want to have your image displayed with the right display profile on your cinema display, then you MUST have the menu bar on that display. If the menu bar is on the Macbook display the image on the cinema display will be displayed with the display profile of the Macbook display. Crazy!
You can try all of the above remembering that after any change you need to quit and reopen iphoto or preview or ColorSync for the settings to apply.
My question is: why neither iPhoto nor Preview act in the right way like Aperture or Adobe LG? Or at least, why iPhoto does not behave like Preview allowing me to choose where I want the menu bar without having this choice affecting the display color profile used to display my images?
    Thank you,
    Marco

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. • Best MAC 10.6 Color Display Profile for use with Adobe Illustrator CS5

    Hi everyone,
Which Color display profile should I choose for my iMAC (10.6) using Illustrator CS5?  I need the colors to appear as accurate as possible when exporting PDF files.
    Thank you!

    Diane,
The only Monitor profile you should ever use is a device-specific one created for your particular monitor.
If you have not calibrated and profiled your monitor, thereby creating a monitor profile in the process, used the canned one provided by the manufacturer of youor monitor.

  • What display profile should I be using to edit photos in Photoshop RBG?

I just realized that as I'm doing photo editing in Photoshop, I'm not sure that my display is accurately showing me what the colors are. If I'm doing RGB in Photoshop, should I keep the Color LCD profile in Displays, or should I switch to an "RGB" one? Any suggestions? I like the way the regular one looks.

The best profile to use is the one that most closely matches the characteristics of your display. Apple ships generic profiles like "Color LCD" that represent the average of the displays coming off the assembly line. Some profiles, like "Adobe RGB" or "sRGB" are intended for use as working color spaces in Photoshop and other photo editors and must not be assigned as a Display profile because they don't match the spectral/tonal response of your monitor. Stick with Color LCD, or make a profile specific to your monitor by using a calibration device such as a Huey or Eye-One to objectively calibrate your monitor. You can try the Calibrate button in the Displays dialog box, but the problem is that human eye calibration is notoriously inaccurate because your eye automatically compensates for color casts.
For similar reasons, how it looks is not very relevant. It may have no bearing on how accurate the grays and colors are, colorimetrically speaking.

  • How can I control the application log display format?

    Hello all,
I am running into a problem with regard to application log display, and I don't know if we can work on the standard log profile(BAL_S_PROF) to fulfill my requirement, I would like to get you advises.
Basically, we already saved numbers of the messages for each level (Domain BALLEVEL), so at last we will get a log tree with branches hopefully. Like below:
Level 1: Check document item 01 (traffic light is Red)
Level 2: Display success status (Traffic light is Red)
Level 3: Display method B( Traffic light is Red)
Level 4: Display processing status for method B( Traffic light is Red)
Level 3: Display method C ( traffic light is Green)
Level 4: Display processing status for method C ( traffic light is Green)
At present system determine the traffic light color of the upper level depending on the lower level status, if there is even one red light in the lower level, the upper one would be red, like in level 2.  My requirement is that we need to make level 2 as GREEN, this way it is more reasonable from the business point of view because a solution has been found. I did some research for the function module 'BAL_DSP_PROFILE_DETLEVEL_GET', but obviously I haven't found a way till now, can anyone shed some light on this?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hello Gaurav,
Thank You..!!! I tried appling filterFunction on the ADG and got whatever I expected but filter changes the original dataprovider behaviour. SO which I dont want to do it.
I have created a local variable and binded whatever data wanted to display on that page. Infact it works as expexted and I still have original data provider as well.
I have one more problem, I'm using creationComplete to initialize my local data provider value. It works only once while creation of state. If I navigate my screens fore and back and come back to this screen, it doesn't display the modified values as creationComplete loads only while state creation.
Is there any mothid which does the samething while vising the page every time than creation?
    Thanks,
    Siva

  • Display Profile No Longer recognized in Final Cut Pro After Mavericks Upgrade

I have a 27" 3.4 GHz I7 imac. and an Apple 30" Cinema Display  After the Mavericks upgrade my viewer window suddenly has completely crushed blacks and is extremely dark.  Projects previously exported out look perfect in both Quicktime and Preview. I can export a project and it looks fine, just terrible in FCP.  It seems that it is related to my calibrated display profiles.  FCP will not recognize them now under Mavericks and worked fine with Lion.  Switching to the generic imac or cinema display profile will hold after the change and make the viewer look normal.  I downloaded FCP 10.1 didn't fix it.  Any ideas why this is happening now?

After researching this quite a bit and seeing this Very very dark video in FCP X viewer. I was able to fix the problem by building a matrix based profile. This problem dated back to the first FCP release for some, but I never experienced it until updating to Mavericks.  It seems that Mavericks is the problem, since nothing changed with FCP. I read somewhere else that another color calibration software tool was having an issue that Maverick's broke LUT (Look Up Table's}  I'm surprised that I am not seeing more photographer's/videographers with this issue. It may just be that those that are using calibration don't have softaware that builds LUT profiles by default.

  • Memory Leak in Preview.app when switching Display Profiles

I found a weird memory leak in Max OS X Preview.app, which manifests itself when Display profiles (color calbration) is change. I wonder if anyone else can reproduce my experience.
    1. Open up "System Preferences" -> "Displays", switch to the "Color" tab. You'll need at least 2 available profiles in the list. (If you only have 1, you can create another using "Calibrate..." button to launch Display Calibration Assistant.
    2. Open an image file in Preview.app.  The larger, the better. Zoom in full size to maximize the effect of the bug. I repro'ed easily with this image: http://www.donporter.net/NewSchool/Color/Examples/Printer%20Test%20file.jpg
    3. Open up "Activity Monitor.app", and click on Preview to highlight it, so you can watch its memory usage.
    4. Switch back to "Diplays" Preference Pane. Using the arrow keys, toggle up and down between two different Display profiles.
4a. At the same time, watch Preview's "Real Mem" in Activity Monitor, as well as the total "Active" memory.
    5. Each time you switch profiles,  Preview consumes more Active/Real memory, about 25MB per switch in my case. This continues until all physical memory is consumed, and then (I presume) starts swapping virtual memory to disk.
    6. Bring Preview to  foreground, and all the profile-induced memory usage is freed.
    Weird, wild stuff.

Could it be possible that this is just the OS holding the memory for the app until another process requires it?  Do you find that the memory increase eventually causes the app to become unstable?
It might be best to open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com.  When adding the bug, please include any source code, project or installer that will help us reproduce the issue internally.  If you'd like to keep your code private, feel free to email it directly to [email protected]  Once entered, please post back with the URL so that others effected can add their comments and votes.

  • How to get the POSIX path of a display profile under 10.6?

    Hi forum,
I'm currently struggling with an AppleScript that returns the POSIX path of the profile of the 1st display just fine when run under OS X 10.4.11. But under 10.6, I can't seem to get it to work, it raises 'syntax error: Expected “,” but found identifier'.
    tell app "ColorSyncScripting"
set prof to location of (display profile of display 1)
    try
    POSIX path of prof
    end try
    end tell
(I should probably mention that I try to run the actual script from the commandline using osascript - ie. `osascript -e 'tell app "ColorSyncScripting"' -e 'set prof to location of (display profile of display 1)' -e 'try' -e 'POSIX path of prof' -e 'end try' -e 'end tell'`)
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

The ColorSync scripting extension relied on FSSpecs and was not 64-bit compatible. Apple dropped it entirely, along with huge chunks of the ColorSync API for which there are currently no publicly documented replacements. You'll have to do it in C.

  • Color display profile

I have noticed that the colors on my Air and IMac differ substanitally.
My Air (and my wife's Macbook Pro) have a default color profile called "Color LCD"
My Imac's profile is called "IMac"
The colors running Color LCD are more red.  This is especially noticeable on the Air.  If I change the profile to sRGB on the Air then the colors more approximate the IMac colors but not exactly.
My question is whether or not the default settings in different Apple monitors should yield such different results.  I use Aperture on my Imac to edit colors on phots and videos.  I have nowe chenged my Air to sRGB and the colors are closer although the whites on the Air now have a blusih tint.  If I share my photos around to others, will the reddishness that is a problem on my Air also be on most other standard display profile settings?
    Thanks

For me and my 17" iMac "Adobe RGB (1998)" from the preinstalled profiles has the richest color. Here is a great link to help you calibrate and set new profiles:

  • Factory Display Profile Trashed By Accident

I please need your help. Today I thought I'd re-calibrate my display, did a little housekeeping and I accidentally trashed the iMac G5 factory icc profile. Now when I go to calibrate the display I get: The factory profile for the display could not be found. The display has gone from gorgeous to all washed-out.
Does anyone know where to find this specific profile on the iMac G5 install disc or do I find it on the Tiger install disc? I have a great 3rd party program called Pacifist which allows one to extract files from the install discs without doing an archive and install; I just can't seem to find it. One more thing, I also need to know where to put this file back into the system, that's if it can be found and extracted. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
All photography editing has unfortunately been suspended for now. I need that profile...
    Barb

FWIW, I had to do an Archive and Install from the Tiger disc. Couldn't find the specific iMac profile anywhere using the 3rd party Pacifist application, although that app is excellent for extracting other files. It must have been buried somewhere deep within the system.
So....the lesson learned is to be extremely careful when cleaning out your old display profiles or the calibrator for the display will no longer function. By all means, keep the iMac profile. I thought it was a profile I created, now I know it wasn't.
It's nice to have things back to normal!

  • Missing Display Profile

I got this iBook in early September. It's been great except for one thing--the default display profile, Color LCD, goes missing and it reverts to Generic RGB profile in the display preferences. This causes the display to look faded with a bluish tint. The computer has 2 accounts--an admin and a standard account. When I log in under the admin account the display is ok and properly set to Color LCD in the display preferences. The problem seems to occur when I log in under the standard account. It will revert to Generic RGB and the Color LCD profile is not available in the display preferences. I switch back to the admin account and the same setting is in the display preferences--set to Generic RGB and Color LCD is not to be found. Restarting temporarily resolves the problem. I have repaired permissions, but this did not fix it.

You might have to just reinstall the system.
Otherwise I guess try the Calibrate?
    GOD Bless and Good luck.

  • Display profile for Cinema Display

Hi there. I'm producing photographic images (for eventual print) and the print company is using Apple Cinema Displays their end (me: a Samsung SyncMaster 913V).
There seems to be a great difference between what I see on my screen and what they see on theirs. My question is: would it help for me to install an Apple Cinema Display profile on my G4 to get a more accurate representation of their results? If so, where can I download this and to where?
Many thanks for any help you can offer!
    Jo

Without using an optical calibration package from Gretag, Colorvision, etc you might get close but your still not going to get optimal results. Your eyes will constantly adjust to what they think is white, red, green and blue and tell your brain you have it right when in fact you dont.
If your serious about getting this right then an optical measuring tool is required.

  • Is there a terminal command than can run to turn off all display profiles?

The color display profiles are influencing/altering the RGB values that I am getting back from the apple color picker. Is there a way that I can toggle them all on and off?
I am trying to use the color picker in FileMaker Pro 11 to sample colors from a photo that I am using as a background template. When I sample a color the color picker does not return the correct values. It keeps returning a darker value than it should. It's driving me nuts.
I tried manually entering specific RGB values but the actual numbers don't stick, they changes when I close and reopen the object that I am applying the color to.

The following will list the System frameworks but not necessarily every framework that you have installed by some third party application.

  • Issue with Display Profiles

    Hi eb,
I have a problem with Display profiles. When 2 users are log in, my display profil switch to "Generic RGB" and I cannot change it to any other profil.
When I restart and log in one user - everything is ok. When I log in second user display profile set to Generic RGB and issue start. When I log out one of them situation is same and issue persist.
I tryed run Color Sync Utility > Profile First Aid , but no problems found.
