Log of HTTP Requests & LogOn Attempts

Hello,
Is it possible to see in a log file which http requests are send to the J2EE Engine?
Same question for logon attempts with user-id or client certificates?
Greetings,
Bart

Thanks for your support on this eai.
Regards,
Laurent.

ok, I think we do not need the save/loadPipeline things, because you can debug the flow without that. I first thought you act as HTTP server, but you issue the client call in the flow itself.
Looking at the logs more carefully, it shows for example:
Copy failed: (Simple) No source data available: to=/returnedStatusCode(0), from=/returnHttp(0)/cXML(0)/Response(0)/Status(0)/@code(0)
But you say have that input:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE cXML SYSTEM "http://xml.cXML.org/schemas/cXML/1.2.011/cXML.dtd">
<cXML version="1.2.011" payloadID="20080825171850716.18637uTQ9ExzheaK+H6b7O9oCAQWPzHA-9355222.8b3632def70da7220004d0b6" timestamp="2008-08-25T17:18:50-CEST">
<Response>
<Status code="500">No cXML document received from sender.</Status>
</Response>
</cXML>
So we see that your mappings assumptions do not match the result structure.
The other problem is that you get a status 500 and do not receive a cXML document, but that might be ok, depending on what parameters you pass to the other HTTP server. At least, you get a meaningful error message back from the server, meaning communication is ok.
I suggest you first correct those "copy failed" issues and then check by single-stepping where exactly the flow fails and check that input again.
By the way, when I feed the above cXML into recordToDocument, it works fine. Did you specify other input parameters besides "node" (e.g. recordName) ? And again, are you on Core Fix 8 ?

• Logging failed logon attempts

Is there any way to capture failed logon attempts in UCS? I see allowed logon attempts in the audit log but can't see a way to track failed ones.
Thanks,

Hi Holger,
I suggest you use the Performance logs to monitor the number of logins and logouts for a server in the cluster. You can then log these stats to your PC as a csv file. However, you will need to keep the RTMT open while the logging is going on. Here's a doc I wrote a few days ago regarding this. May this would help?

• Logging of Forwarded HTTP Requests using RequestDispatcher in Weblogic

Can anyone help me on this?
Logging of Forwarded HTTP Requests using RequestDispatcher in Weblogic
Access Log File:
1. I have a servlet(S1) which decides which JSP to be published based on
some logic. If I try to forward the request from a servlet to a JSP or to
another servlet from within S1 using RequestDispatcher, it doesn't get
logged in the access log, only the initial request to S1 gets logged, when I
switch on HTTP logging by setting weblogic.httpd.enableLogFile to true. Is
there any way of logging this forwarding of request in the access log?
2. If there is no solution for (1), I woiuld like to make entries into the
access log file of weblogic in the common log format, when I forward a
request to a JSP or a servlet throught the RequestDispatcher, so that I can
use standard tools to analyze the logfile. The two issues with this are (i)
is there any weblogic service that gives a handle to the access log file
like the LogServicesDef which gives a handle to the weblogic log file. (ii)
Is there any utility class available that can format a URL pointing to a JSP
to a string confirming to the common log format.

The log4j:ERROR messages are not coming from Log4j 2 and are most likely from Log4j 1.x. Somehow Log4j 1.x must be getting the log4j2 configuration.

• NULL SID Security Log Event ID 4625 when attempting logon to 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Session Host

This is a new deployment of Server 2008 R2 in a newly created 08 R2 active directory on a newlyt installed 08 R2 RDSH server.
A new generic user is created in AD. That user can log on to the terminal server on the console just fine. But that user cannot logon via RDP. Furthermore, the domain admin credentials also cannot logon via RDP.
When either set of credentials is used, the logon attempt registered in the Windows Security Even Log as a denied attempt with Event ID 4625 reporting a NULL SID.
Troubleshooting: The RDSH has already been disjoined and rejoined to the domain. Also, curious note, there are three ways to save the user account on the RDSH server as a valid user account which has permissions to logon. The one Microsoft recommends is to open computer management and edit the remote desktop users group. When I the accounts here and click apply, they immediately dissapear. Secondly, I can open the computer properties and go to the remote tab. There I find the user accounts added using the previous method are enumerated but not displaying correctly. They show up with the RDSH server name and a question mark. The last way, is to open the Remote Desktop Session Configuration tool and edit the properties of the rdp connection and go to the security tab. This was the only place I could get a user to ‘stick’ but the logon attempts still show a NULL SID and access is denied.
I have scoured every bit of RDS documenation I can find with no luck.
Thanks,
Chris

I am also experiencing this issue.
2008 servers, 2007 exchange on server 2008.
These are fresh servers, fresh AD. Users can log onto domain normally, RDP not working for admin accounts, generating same errors as posted above.
The bigger issue, is that we have a cisco messaging service account that is generating this error on the DC's and the Exchange server as well. The service basically emails users voicemails to their inbox. The user we've created for the cisco service is unable
to authenticate to the exchange server, in turn generating the same errors posted above as well. We can log on to the domain with this account just fine.
Any ideas on this? We have not tried re-adding the servers to the domain.

• Malformed HTTP request in access.log

Hi,
we're running a quite standard web application on a weblogic server 9.1, clients are using Internet Explorer 6, and lately, I checked the access.log, and sometimes, logged HTTP requests look malformed, for example:
access.log00575:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [25/Aug/2006:13:47:01 +0200] "ntent-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded HTTP/0.9" 501 990
access.log00568:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [25/Aug/2006:10:32:30 +0200] "&GET /img/console/entete.gif HTTP/1.1" 501 990
access.log00639:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [27/Nov/2006:12:38:00 +0100] "&POST /ajax/heartbeat HTTP/1.1" 501 80
access.log00460:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [21/Aug/2006:16:51:01 +0200] "OST /ajax/daily_commission HTTP/1.1" 501 78
I once was successful in reproducing the problem, and during this test, I was sniffing the network, and apparently, the sent HTTP requests looked fine, whereas it appeared as a corrupted request in access.log.
Have anyone seen something like this before ?
Thanks.

I wish that were true. I've disconnected Server Admin from the server and then quit the application. The log entries are still comin'.

• Disabling logging of HEAD request in HTTP web server logs

Hi,
I would like to stop the logging of HEAD requests in my HTTP server logs. I was thinking of using the Rewrite rule, however, there may be a more direct way of doing this. Is there a configuration setting within HTTP Server to do this?
I'm using WebTier component of Weblogic 10.3.2.
Thanks,

I found the solution to disable HEAD requests.

• Remote Desktop Gateway 2008 R2 - logon attempt failed

I've already read through a lot of threads regarding this. Our RDGW has been working for approx 2 years. Suddenly now, some clients start to get the "logon attempt failed" when they are using rdgw. It does seems to be an increasing problem..
- Redirection in IIS is OK, checked out!
- Blank page appears when i try to logon to http://rdgw.server.com/rpc - This is OK.
I see NO non-normal entries at all in event viewer on the gateway server.
The only thing I get in event viewer on the client is:
TerminalServices-ClientActiveXCore/Microsoft Windows-TerminalServices-RDPClient/Operational:
EventID: 1026 - RDP CLientActiveX is disconnected (reason= 50331649)
EventID: 1025 - Connection with multiple transport is disconnected(not correct - google translate from locale)
This is the only thing I can see in the logs, it pops right after I get the: "The logon attempt failed"
I think a certificate issue is excluded since most of my clients can connect - all certs er valid.
We got people externally and locally that are experiencing this issue (I've forced rdgw to be sure on the local clients) So most likely this problem has nothing to do with external/internal.
On those computers who are unable to logon using rdgw, none accounts works(i've even tried domain admin). So the problem is not user-based either.
Since the "the logon attempt failed" pops within a second I was'nt sure if the traffic even got to our RDGW, so I checked with wireshark, and I can see that the gw is responding in ssl back to the client. Still there is no entries in the log on the rdgw
server..
Any suggestions?
thanks

Hello all,
Something that worked for me :
On the RD Session Host server, open Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration. To open Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration, click Start, point to Administrative
Tools, point to Remote Desktop Services, and then click Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration.
Under Connections, right-click the name of the connection, and then click Properties.
In the Properties dialog box for the connection, on the General tab, select the server authentication and encryption settings that are
appropriate for your environment, based on your security requirements and the level of security that your client computers can support.
In the Properties dialog
box for the connection, on the Log on Settings tab,
uncheck the box Always prompt for password
Click OK.

• Soap UI HTTP Request Parameter

Hi,
I am working on HTTP two way port in BizTalk.
My input schema is as below.
<ns0:Order xmlns:ns0="http://BizTalk.HTTPAdapterDemoApp.Message_XML">
<ItemNumber>01</ItemNumber>
<Quantity>499</Quantity>
<Status />
</ns0:Order>
BizTalk Logic:
if Qty<500 then Status= 'Approved' else Status= 'Denied'.
I am sending this input message to BizTalk from console application and I am able to receive the response from BizTalk.
Now I want to send this message to BizTalk from Soap UI.
Can any one help me, How many parameter do I need to create in Soap UI to work it properly?
Thanks UK

Here it goes.
I can able to send the HTTP request of input schema and getting the response by using console application.
While using Soap UI, I am getting below errors.
In Biztalk console, I am getting below error,
The BizTalk HTTP receive adapter failed to initialize itself. Possible reasons:
1) Receive location URL is not created/configured correctly.
2) Receive location is not enabled.
3) HTTP receive adapter is not running under a user that has access to management and message databases.
4) Isolated host instance is not created for HTTP Receive adapter.
In Soap UI, I am getting the below error.
<data contentType="text/html; charset=utf-8" contentLength="6094"><![CDATA[<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">

• Application Web Service Control Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests

Hi,
We are using SCCM 2012 sp1 cu5 with one primary in the datacenter and a number of local DP's which are presently servicing 200 users, but will rise to 12,000. The Application Catalogue is installed on the primary server.
Once a day we get the above error and the message id is 8101, and sometimes a user will have to click on install twice, with the first one failing (the ones that fail are normally with dependencies which are quite large in size around 250MB)
I'm just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about, especially since we will be ramping up user numbers in the next few weeks, and if it could be down to volume of traffic, although the apps are downloaded to the users local DP.
Also, does this design look suitable to service this amount of users, or should I have local application catalogues? The WAN bandwith between the datacenter and the user sites has recently been upgraded and is pretty fast.
Thanks
Jaz

Hi Torsten,
Message ID is in the SMS_AWEBSVC_CONTROL_MANAGER status log and equates to "Application Web Service Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests. The http error is 12002.
Then, about 1 hr later in the same monitoring log I get Message ID 8102 "Application Web Service Control Manger detected AWEBSVC is responding to HTTP requests.
At the moment it isn't doing this very often, just once a day at different times normally, but it has also logged this a couple of times as well. I guess it may correspond to multiple users accessing the web portal at multiple times, but wondered if
anyone else has seen this behaviour and how it was fixed.
Thanks
Jaz

• Can CSS route based on cookie info in HTTP request

Hi
I am new to CSS and am interested as it might be able to provide a solution to a problem I have seen.
We currently have 3 Windows Servers running an ASP-based web application with a clustered SQL Server backend. The front end uses windows load balancing to distribute the load. All 3 servers are configured the same and there is only one application.
The problem lies with the way an the application maintains session state. I am told it uses a non-persistant cookie on the client which corresponds to a session object on the server. This is opposed to maintaining state in central location such as the database. Obviously this means the client needs to be stuck to a particular server for that session. This is currently achieved by setting the Windows NLB to single affinity which places traffic from a particular IP address to the same server. This does work but the clients source IP is changed by a downstream firewall to a NAT overload address meaning all clients appear with the same IP address (different port) and hence always end up on just one server.
The obvious next step in my mind would be to change the way NAT is done but this is not possible. The next obvious idea would be to change the application so that it maintains state in the database so the affinity of the Windows NLB could be disabled meaning requests would be dealt with using the source IP and port and hence distributed evenly. I am told this cannot be done either :) Joy!
So I have begain to look at other possible solutions. Apologies for my very limited knowledge on the CSS as I am trying to get my head around how it can be configured. I am thinking that it may be able to help me if I used it instead of Windows NLB. I am interested in the way you can use Layer 5 stickiness. Would it be able to examine the cookie in the HTTP request and route the traffic to the correct server?
I am aware that this will not alleviate the failover issue. If one of the servers were to fall over then the client would have to login again, however I am under the impression that this is acceptable behaviour. The main driver here is to provide load balancing to improve application performance by using all resources opposed to just one.
Many many thanks to anyone who can give me advise on this.

Hi Gilles
Thanks for the info. Sounds like we are on the right path. Unfortunately I am unable to get much information from the developers. Long story. I did logon to the system whilst doing a network trace. The following is what I found in the HTTP header:
Hypertext Transfer Protocol
GET /XXXXX/Includes/style.asp HTTP/1.1\r\n
Accept: */*\r\n
Referer:
http://xxx.xxxxx.xxx/xxxxx/login.asp\r\n
Accept-Language: en-gb\r\n
Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate\r\n
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)\r\n
Host: xxxx.xxxxx.xxxxx\r\n
Connection: Keep-Alive\r\n
Cookie: ASPSESSIONIDQCBCDSCR=AEHBCJEDDGMMCCBHBICLELGD\r\n
\r\n
Why do you configure 2 services? How would I go about this given the cookie in the HTTP request?
Many thanks
Gary

Hi,
I have checked the logs. I am getting errors like the below:
1. com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.deploy.impl.exceptions.WCEApplicationNotStartedException: The application [sap.com/com.sap.portal.ivs.iviewservice] is configured to have ALWAYS start up mode. Currently it is in STOPPED status - because of this it will not be started implicitly by the Web Container service and any internal operation that needed this application to be running will fail. There are two possible reasons for STOPPED status: 1) The application failed to start during cluster startup. 2) The application is stopped by system administrator.
2. .info.exception.WD4VCRuntimeException: FAILED: process plan id: generatedBindPlan_CWG_UI action: null
3. Thread HTTP Worker [2] failed to acquire exclusive lock on client session
But the data is being processed by the code correctly. I tried printing the final values of the o/p and the values are as expected.
