Log user's transactions

Hi All,
How can I get the log of transactions or TCODE did by user during their one period logging to the server?
So, I can get list of transactions did by USER_A (for example) for a whole day, or during few hours, and what changes he made.

Hi Maya,
You can get it with ST03 transaction.
The system will have last 3 months data.
You can check which user has used the transaction in this period.
Let know if you face any difficultyin doing this.

Log Messages from Transaction Event Logger

I have 4 instances of MII v12.1 and within a transaction I want to add a message to the log when the transaction runs so I can view it through the message logger. All 4 MII instances were installed by the same consultant a few years ago so there "should" be no differences in the log configs. On 3 of the instances this is working fine - I have created a very simple transaction with one Event Logger action configured with a message "Test Message" and when I execute the transaction I see the correct entry in the log viewer. On the fourth however, although the transaction executes without error I am not seeing anything in the viewer for this event. I am using the standard "last 24 hours" log viewer with no filters and no specific log locations selected, and no customisations. I am seeing other system generated messages. I found some documentation about logging and the viewer and I found the Netweaver log config but as far as I can see it looks consistent between the instance which is working and the one which is not working. Is there some other config which needs to be done to enable Event Logging from transactions? My user has the same access across all instances. Any guidance would be appreciated. I attach a screen shot of what I am expecting to see (taken from one of the instances which is working).

Many thanks for your reply. I have tried this and unfortunately it makes no difference. I also checked on the other instances and found they have their tracing levels all set to error, not Info. I have also noticed that on the instance which is working, in the System Configuration section at the bottom of the Log Config page - for Applications and all sub categories I see the entry .\log\applications_00.log in the Pattern column. On the instance which is not working I see that entry for the Applications root but not for any of the sub categories (even after selecting Copy to subtree). I cannot see where I can set this value (there is no modify function available, even under Administrator login).
Also, when I look at the log messages which have generated when setting the Event Type to Error on the instance which is not working, it shows one entry and the Category and Location columns show <com.sap.xmii.bls.executables.action.logging.LoggingActions>. When I generate an event with type Error on the instance which is working I get 2 log messages, one with the Category and Location <com.sap.xmii.bls.executables.action.logging.LoggingActions> and the other with Category /Applications/XMII/Xacute/Event and Location <com.sap.xmii.bls.executables.action.logging.LoggingActions>.
I guess that the .\log\applications_00.log should be showing for all subtree items under Applications and because it is not then the messages are not going into any application log. Not sure how to fix this however.
I have also reset to the default configuration and it does not change the above.

User Defined Transaction in Logical Data Service

Hi
I have few physical data services created from database store procedures. I've corresponding logical services for each of the physical data services.
Now I've created a logical data service that calls 2 store procedures & trying to update this 2 store procs in a single transaction.
Also I dont have a read operation in my logical data services. In this case both store proc. should take part in a single transaction & should commit or rollback as per success/failure.
I tried testing this scenario & it fails. ALDSP was able to update first store proc. but there was an error in second store proc. so it should have rollback the entire transaction.
Is there any way that we can have user defined transaction in logical data service?
My Scenario:
InsertData(RequestA,RequestB) as response
res1 := call First Store Proc (RequestA) ;
res2 := call Second Store Proc (RequestB);
response := res1 + res2
So my question was is it possible to define user transaction before making calls & have commit/rollback define around it.

I have assumed that you realize you need XA drivers for this. What is the exception you see? Something about "mixed outcome"?
But in the case of store procedure, we cant drag & drop physical ds into logical ds. Why?Since your stored procedure updates, it should be defined in the physical ds as a "procedure" not a "function" - it sounds like it is. (procedure means it will update, function means it will not - not that it is a "stored procedure"). Because it updates it cannot be called by an xquery function because xquery is by definition read-only. It can only be called directly from the client, or from another procedure (which is XQSE, not Xquery). If you created a logical ds with a "procedure" - you could drop your procedure into that.

But it does not. Please verify.I won't verify it because it is not correct. It should be treated as though it is one transaction. And barring the bugs with JNDI/data source names and multi-data sources, I do not know how how it would not be. So either there is a misunderstanding or a new bug.
Either way you need to open a case with customer support to resolve this. When you open your case, the more information you provide them with (i.e the smallest possible dataspace that will reproduce the problem along with DML to create the stored procedures and the tables that they use, and also any/all exceptions/stack traces and server logs).

Issue in Digital Signature Logs in DSAL Transaction

Hello,
Please help me resolve one of my issue regarding digital signatures in sap.
As per my company requirement we want that logs should be generated in DSAL Transaction in SAP.
We are using SIGN_SIGNATURE_CREATE bapi for creating the digital signature of the user.
Now when this bapi runs and returns the digital signature successfully then also we are not getting any
success logs in DSAL transaction.
So please let me know what are the necessary configurations required so that we get logs in DSAL transaction
weather digital signatures successfully generate or if some exception occured.

Are you sure the Digital Signature Log isn't updated? Make sure you select the correct Application and Signature Object in the selection screen of DSAL. At least interface IF_DS_RUNTIME updates the log, even for non-standard strategies/applications/objects.
Update: I checked the function module SIGN_SIGNATURE_CREATE which isn't a BAPI and it's not even released. It appears to be a low level API, I suggest you look into using IF_DS_RUNTIME instead.

Java user-defined transaction management not working correctly???

Hi everyone,
I have encountered a problem when using Java user-defined transaction management in my session bean. It threw an exception but I could not work out what that means. Could anyone comment on this? Thanks.
This BrokerBean is a stateless session calling other entities bean to perform some simple operations. There are 2 Cloudscape databases in use. Invoices (EB) use InvoiceDB and all the other EBs use StockDB.
If I comment out the user-defined transaction management code, then everything works fine. Or if I comment out the Invoices EB code, it is fine as well. It seemed to me that there is something wrong in transaction management when dealing with distributed databases.

Three things:
first, maybe you should think of putting ut.begin() just before the invoicesHome.create() method and ut.commit() just after the stockTrans.remove() method.It wont solve the current problem but will help in performance once the problem is solved.
second, your utx.commit() is outside the try block. how come the code is compiling then??
third, try doing a SOP call before and after invoicesHome.create() method and see where the problem actually lies.

Can I just ask why you're not using containermanaged
transactions?The reason why I didn't use container managed
transactions is because I don't really know how to do
that. I am more familiar with this user-defined
transaction handling.
I have attempted to implement the same method in an
entity bean and just let the container manage the
rollback itself. The same exception was thrown when
running the client.
Also, the transaction behaviour is likely to relateto
the app server youre using - which is it?What do you mean by the app server? I am using J2EE
1.3.1 if that is what you meant.
Finally, if your code has a problem rolling back,and
throws an exception, you discard your exception
thereby losing useful information.I have tried to print the exception stack as well, but
it is the same as just printing the general
exception.
This problem is very strange cause if I comment out
the transaction management thing, then everything
works fine. Or if I am only working with 1 single
database, with this user-defined transaction handling,
everything works fine as well.

What is "connection previously closed, open another

Program to collect user u2013 transaction execution data for past period

Hi Experts
We are developing a program to collect user u2013 transaction execution data for past period ( 3 months-1 year ). We are getting required User and Tcode output but unable to find exact count per tcode ( executed by respective user).
We have following count components available in SAPWL_WORKLOAD_GET_STATISTIC / SWNC_COLLECTOR_GET_AGGREGATES
COUNT , DCOUNT ( Dialog count for transaction ) , UCOUNT , BCOUNT , ECOUNT, SCOUNT ,LUW_COUNT .
Out of which LUW_COUNT -Logical Units of Work comes close to no ot time transaction was executed but itu2019s even not the exact count as one transaction code can have more than one LUW .
Does anyone have idea about how to get the right count .

If audit log is enabled in SM19 for transaction criteria all, you can get the transaction history executed by the users. But may need more space on audit file system if this is enabled for all users. May be you can archive once in 3 months into ZIP files and can unzip whenever you need.

Capture error messages in message log in ME21n transaction

Hello friends,
i have a question here.I have created a Z-table which contain data about material groups which will not be used for the particular plant.when we create a PO now ,i am checking for each line item whether the material group entered for each line item exists in Z-table or not.If exists then throw a message 'XXXXXXXX.'
as this is an enhancement to Me21n transaction , i am using User exit EXIT_SAPMM06E_012 .Now my problem is for each line item i am checking for condition and throwing a message.My requirement is show up all messages(for eg : If more than 1 line item contain errors for the same condition) in the message log of the transaction ME21n screen.I dont think we can do this in the User exit as showing up messages in ME21n is standard functionality
Could anyone please give any idea how to achieve this??

This enables me to pull all the records from both tables but not specific to the logged user.
This is my problem. I would like the record to be pull is for the right user.
I am not sure if the the problem is to do with Session variable MM_UserName as I have no idea how to include it in the advanced recordset box but i am not sure there is no missing session start on this page. Your help or suggestion will be much appreciated.

Log user activity in Compliance Workbench.

Hello,
Do you know if this is possible to log user activitiy in compliance workbench.
I would need to know which users are doing what, on which data in that transaction.
Does anybody already did/activated something like this?
Is this customizing? or ???

Hi Rudy,
in EHSM Product Compliance (3.0 upwards) there are change records which can be directly accessed via the Compliance Workbench ('You can also'->'Display change records').
As you tagged your question with tdagcpm00 I assume you are referring to the predecessor solution (PRC or CfP). As all objects in PRC and CfP are specifications you can switch on the change records in SAP EH&S and evaluate the changes in transaction CG02 (from hit list via 'Extras' -> 'Change Document Log').

How do i get a list of logged users (at a certain time) in my application?

i am working on an application running on Oracle IFS 9, and i have to display a list of currently logged users (in my application). can anyone tell me how to do that, please? some clues, at least... i have none.

The following Select seems to work for HTTP and FTP, but not for SMB (Windows Explorer) logins:

Did you try finding out how SM66 creates the list? You could set break-points e.g. at statement "call function" and see which ones are being called. Look at those starting with TH... especially.

How can an user defined Transaction type in Inventory be configured in IB?

Need to know how to make an user defined transaction to update the status in IB automatically. i.e. suppose there is an user defined transaction "XYZ". I need to update the instance stause of an item to "CANCELLED" once that transaction happens on the item.

I was looking at doing the transform manually, but my challenge is how to parse the inbound String into XML Elements with their properties. For example:

If I get the value of the embedded XML as a string, how can I parse our or address the various elements and attributes in the embedded XML? I was hoping to use:
$aString cast as jkl:embeddedMessage
But on OSB10g this fails. Is there another way with XQuery or XSL to convert an embedded XML that comes in as a string, into a complex User-Defined type?

How to get "Current" Room RoomID for logged user ?

Does someone here knows how to get the <i>current</i> <b>RoomID</b> of the Room the user has <u>'open'</u> from a java WebDynpro view ?
I know I can get the list of rooms for the logged user, but I don't know how to get the <u>open/current</u> room for that user, for querying the roomid in the wdp view after that...
