Log4j JDBC Appender for MDB

Hi,
I'm having problems using Log4j JDBC Appender for my MDB. When I deploy my MDB to JBoss I get an error saying that the database connection could not be created due to too many connections. I have set my minimum database connections to 150 in mysql-ds.xml and I have 50 instances of MDBs but still I have this error. This occurs only once during start up. I'll be investigating this but if there's anyone who has encountered a similar scenario, I'd be happy to hear your comments.
Thanks!

The new Windows 2008 R2 server came in yesterday.  I installed CF9 and downloaded the HXTT JDBC driver.  It does seem to work but the evaluation version of the driver is limited to 1000 records.  So I am not sure if the performance is going to be ok.
Do I risk the $370 to get a full working version.  Will my boss think I am nuts for buying software from a company in China?
4/28/10 - The boss says do it.
5/1/10
Results look good.  Everything seems to work.  Performance might even be better than the jet 32 bit drivers.
5/10/10 - First issue found
The MS Access "Make Table Query" that uses non-standard syntax   SELECT * INTO Target FROM Source   does not work in the HXTT driver.  This syntax worked with both Access Jet and CF8 32 bit drivers.  So it looks like I will be forced to make some code changes.  INSERT INTO Target SELECT * FROM SourceTable   looks like the best bet.

  • JDBC Sender for MS Access (how to?)

    Hi experts,
    I would like to read a MS Access DB allocated in an external server, but I am still a bit confused after reading many threads and blogs about this issue.
    Most of the people says no driver installation is needed when PI is running on Windows (my case).
    I also use to see the following configuration of the CC connecting parameters:
    JDBC Driver: jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
    Connection: jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (.mdb)};DBQ=//xiserver*/xitemp/db/TestDB.mdb;Uid=yourid;Pwd=yourpwd;
    Does it mean it is mandatory the DB file to be in the PI server or is this only for test's purpose? How to update the DB then?
    Is it possible to connect to an Access DB in a server different from the PI server as well? i.e. ...DBQ=//<server IP>/path
    Many thanks in advance,
    Paco

    You dont need to install a specific driver for MS Access because it uses the JDBC-ODBC Bridge driver which I believe is standard as part of the JRE. For other external databases, for performance reasons or additional technical features you will want to use a type 3 or 4 driver. Explainations of the driver types are in this link.
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-07-2000/jw-0707-jdbc.html
    For connecting to the database you do use the connection details:
    JDBC Driver: sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
    Connection: jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=
    <server path visible to XI>\TestDB.mdb;Uid=yourid;Pwd=yourpwd;
    You can host the database on any server XI has access to and to update it you would use Native SQL or XML based SQL updates as described in the SAP help.

  • JDBC driver for Microsoft Access

    Hi, I have gone through the blogs and threads related to this topic. I found contradicting threads one saying we need to deploy Access JDBC driver and another saying no need to deploy JDBC driver for Access.
    Integrate PI7.0 with MS Access 2003 Database - Says need to install driver for Access
    Re: Problem when connecting to MS Access through JDBC Adapter. - Says no need to install driver for Access
    I am now confused if I need to ask my Basis team to deploy driver for this. If some one has executed this scenario successfully, could you please confirm whether a driver needs to be installed or not. Also if it is required to install a driver, could you please let me know from where I can download the driver.
    My PI version is 7.1 and Access version is MS Access 2007.  PI is deployed on Linux.
    Without asking for deploying driver I have configured scenario File->PI->Access and I am getting below error in my receiver JDBC communication channel.
    "Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error when attempting to get processing resources: com.sap.aii.af.lib.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: DriverManagerException: Can not establish connection:: SAPClassNotFoundException: jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver";
    Please suggest how to resolve this issue.
    Regards, Prasad

    Hi .
    The format for Access 2007 is accdb . Are you using this format or MDB?
    Anyway try this:
    Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)};Dbq=C:\Test\TestDB.accdb;Uid=Admin;Pwd=;

  • Will weblogic support 2 Phase support for MDB (Container Managed)

    The Transaction is not rolling back when i am throwing an EJB exception during the update of the database
              Followed the below steps
              0) Created a XAConnectionPool (Oracle XA thin Driver)
              1) Created a DataSource for the above pool
              2) Created a QueueConnection factory with XA checked
              3) Deployed a MDB with Transaction Support as Required
              4) When the Database is throwing an exception the message is not rolled back /
              Any idea why this is happening?Will Weblogic 81 supports Container Management for MDB for 2PC transactions?
              i have Oracle driver in the weblogic start classpath and using getting the connection to the DB from the weblogic pool

    - Of course WebLogic supports 2PC - and has for years.
              - There's no need to configure a JMS connection factory - the MDB's default choice is transaction capable.
              - See MDB doc for details on how to configure transactional MDBs.
              (hint: two descriptor settings are required)
              http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ejb/message_beans.html
              - FYI: You may want to consider upgrading to 9.1:
              * Can pause MDBs
              * Can pause destinations
              * Can view individual messages on the console
              * much higher file store performance
              * JDBC LLR option (faster than pure XA 2PC)
              * MDB transaction batching (speeds up XA - documentation is missing but will be in place soon)

  • Log4J Asynchronous appender

    hi
    any one can help me how can i use " Log4J Asynchronous appender" in my project.
    cureently i am using Log4J appender for logging using the property files

    Your question is a bit hard to understand, but if you mean you have the configuration of Log4J in property files today (using PropertyConfigurator) there is no way to use the AsyncAppender.
    The AsynAppender ( [http://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/apidocs/org/apache/log4j/AsyncAppender.html] ) requires xml configuration (DOMConfigurator):
    Important note: The AsyncAppender can only be script configured using the DOMConfigurator. - Roy

  • To change the JDBC driver for a single OC4J instance

    Hello,
    I implemeted an app with oracle adf (Jdeveloper 10.1.2 ) and it use Oracle Domain objects.
    I have an oas 10g (9.04.1) in windows
    and I want to change the default jdbc driver for a single oc4j instance
    in metalink i found the following information:
    1.- From OTN, download and copy the 10.1.0.x JDBC driver to a directory on the server. E.g OH/newjdbc
    2.- Opening EM-Website, navigate to the OC4J instance that should be altered.
    3.- Find the "Java-Options" and, add the -Xbootclasspath option to it, pointing to the new JDBC driver.
    E.g. -Xbootclasspath/p:$OH/newjdbc/ojdbc14.jar
    4.- Restart the OC4J instance
    my 'Java-optios' default is
    -server -Xrs -Djava.security.policy=C:\oracle\904\j2ee\test_adf\config\java2.policy -Djava.awt.headless=true
    my new 'Java optios' now is
    -server -Xrs -Djava.security.policy=C:\oracle\904\j2ee\test_adf\config\java2.policy -Djava.awt.headless=true -Xbootclasspath/p = D:\jdev1012\jdbc\lib\classes12.jar
    is this correct?
    now I cannot deploy my app
    Rigoberto

    Seems you missed something in step 3. From those steps the driver should be installed under C:\oracle\904\newjdbc and used in classpath, not d:\jdev1012.

    com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource is a very old direct driver. I'd recommend using the DataDirect 3.2 driver. It can be found at:
