Logging into a corporate network through Safari or other browser?

I bought my wife a powerbook G4 for x-mas and we love it, but if this can't be solved it will have to be returned. She has to work from home often and needs to be able to log into her remote desktop at her company. The company has it set up to come through the browser and use a SAFE card as authentication. Everytime we try to log on we encounter all kinds of problem. Sometimes it just locks up and doesn't let us in. Sometimes we get in for a brief moment or even a little while, only to be kicked out after a few minutes. We have tried using Safari, Firefox or even IE for Mac, but all to no avail. I've had my PC from work at home logging in at the same time just to make sure it wasn't on the company's end. The PC works fine everytime and never encouters a problem....
What should we do or what are we doing wrong???
Please help.....I like the MAC and don't want to get rid of it, but this has to be solved

Sounds like you are using a Windows-only site(s). Can you post a URL that doesn't require a sign-in/password?

    Recently I have not been able to sign into my yahoo email through safari on my iPad. I have a 3rd generation iPad. I have tried clearing history, cookies and data and rebooted my iPad, but none of these worked. After entering yahoo, I go straight to "sign in" it then brings me to the page where I can sign in. After entering my details, I press the "sign in button" but nothing happens. The "sign in"button/icon isn't like what it used to be. By this I mean.. Before when im signing the icon is more of an opaque colour, but recently it will be like something is covering the word "sign in" so the colour is more faint. This is actually probably why I can't sign in. Can anyone help me fix this problem? Much help will be appreciated!

    By the way, the safari setting is: private browsing off and accept cookies from visited. Much help is appreciated!

  • I'm trying to log into a public network and while the fan blade shows I have a connection I can not get the user agreement to load in Safari. This was working until yesterday, what changed?

    I've reset my network settings. I've cleared cache and cookies in the browser. Before yesterday the login screen would appear anytime I attempted to use an app or program that required internet access. Pretty much every program. Now I have a brick tablet at work. I've reset everything I can find. I'm at a dead end. 
    I've seen other ipads that had the auto login togle and auto join togle under network selection, my ipad does not have those options. Logging in at home is working fine on my private network. This public network is not being reset or forgotten when I choose "forget network" or Safari is blocking the login page and I don't know how to un block it.

    Well, when I join a public wifi, a log in page displays a few seconds later, displaying the user agreement. But, earlier today, I was trying to connect my friend's 3GS to a public wifi, and it did not show up. So. I don't really know what happen. I think you should toggle the auto Join to on.

    You might try installing a fresh version of SafariStand and see if you still have the problem with dead links. I'm not familiar with the 'Quick Search' feature but you could have a look at Glims. Don't try to run both Glims and SafariStand together.

    The process will be detailed in the Linksys manual for your router.
    I suspect your problem lies with the WEP key.
    One of the problems with WEP is that the actual standard relies on a 10 character HEX key for 40bit WEP and a 26 character HEX key for 128bit WEP.
    In order to make things easier for people, vendors use certain algorithms to convert simple alphanumeric passwords (or passphrases) into HEX keys, thus enabling people to use simple memorable WEP password rather than lengthy HEX keys.
    The problem is that different vendors use different algorithms to generate the HEX key and therefore a ASCII password on an AEBS will be hashed differently on a Netgear client and vice versa.
    One thing is a 13 character 128 bit WEP password will be hashed by all vendors in the same way (if you use 40bit WEP then a 5 character password is required).
    Though sometimes not even that works and the HEX key must be used regardless.

  • When I go into my email account through Safari, I cannot see all of my messages.  26 may show on the screen but it says I have 32.  However, at the bottom right it appears as if all the messages are showing and the arrow to get more is not highlighted.

    if it is showing you 34 mails them it is correct. when you see your mail. apple has a smart way of arranging your mail.suppose you recieve 4 mails from one email id it will show you under one highlighted mail. so when you open a mail from anyone trying scrolling it down and you will find your missing mails.

    Did you download a movie from iTunes while you were logged into your Apple ID or were you logged into the other person's Apple ID?
    By double-clicking the the movie file, it should prompt you to login with the ID that purchased the movie.

  • I cannot log into my PC network from my iMac

    I searched but did not see this problem.
    I have 3 iMacs and several PC's in my signshop and we are bound by AD to the main PC serer and we connect via DHCP. One particular shared user can no longer log into her user from any of the iMacs. She just gets the shaking password window. But she can log into her shared user from any of the PC's. And we can all log into our shared users from her iMac.
    Thins we have tried.
    1. changed her password and that did not work.
    2. renewed DHCP and that did not work.
    3. disabled and re-enabled her acount and that didn't work.
    Any advice? I will check this from work tomorrow if you need any info from the PC IT geeks

  • Firefox browser must be refreshed to log into and log out of Simple Machine Forum. No other browser does this.

    I run a Simple Machines Forum (SMF) Whenever I log in or out of my forum using Firefox (Ver 4.0.1) my browser gets "hung up." As soon as I type username, password, and hit enter the forum goes to a white screen that just sits there. To force the page to load I have to hit refresh in my browser. The page then loads and I'm able to go on as usual. The same exact scenario happens when I try to log out of my forum. I hit logout and the page goes to the white screen. It sits there until I hit refresh in the browser and then it will log me out. This does not happen with logging in or out of the forum with any other browser. I've tested this issue in Internet Explorer, Safari, and Chrome. Logs me in and out with no issues. With Firefox I get stuck. Asked for help on the SMF forum. Other users have reported having this issue as well. Was advised to rename the forum cookie. Did that and it has not helped. I do believe the issue is with my particular install of Firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Unable to add a mail account, with Invalid Password error message, yet can log into mail system OK through a browser. Mail technicians can't find the problem.

    When I try to add a newly-created Bigpond account to Thunderbird, I get an error message "User Name or Password Invalid", yet I can log in to this account OK through a browser. When adding the account, Thunderbird says "Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database". I have previously successfully added Bigpond, Yahoo, Outlook and Hotmail accounts to Thunderbird and they are working fine. The Bigpond Technical Support staff have looked into this and cannot see what is wrong but they say they do not support Thunderbird. Any ideas appreciated...

    For the settings that needs to be configured for your new mailbox, kindly follow the steps listed below:

    In looking at the Thunderbird error message, it seems to consistently refer to the User Name and Password. I know they are correct, as I can log in from a browser using them. Is there something in the validation rules that might be the problem? Also, you may be aware that Bigpond is migrating their old Webmail system across to the Outlook platform. Registering new e-mail accounts in Bigpond get created on the Outlook platform, whereas older accounts are still on the Bigpond Webmail system. Is this causing a problem somewhere in validation?

    Yes.. just starting to see this.  Any ideas?  It only happens when I search in Google bar.  When I try with another user, doesn't happen.
