Logging performance of the application..!!!

Hi,
I am wondering how we can log the performance of the application (Oracle BPM 10.3g), so that we can easily analyze the bottlenecks in the process and tune the same.
Is there any kind of performance analyzer kind of plugin can be used or so?
Ideas welcomed...!!!

I don't know of any tools that automatically do the performance tuning for you, however, you can create logs to locate bottlenecks.

Hi SAP GURUS.
The standard output is created from the outbound delivery .
All the messages are hitting the system log instead of the application log .
This is after the upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0 .
Please provide the details how to move the log to the application log since the output is the standard output (SAP provided output type ).

Identify the user logged in to the application

Hi Guys,
I am trying to integrate APEX(4.0.1) with oracle SSO, using the doc "Corporate Single-Sign On Integration Process" http://my.oracle.com/site/pdit/BusinessOpsIT/IdentityMgmtSvs/CorporateSSOPartnerApplicationRequest
Now that i have installed APEX with EPG (Embedded PL/SQL Gateway), i have tried to integrate sso using the note "562807.1", i was able to successfully authenticate the user, but unfortunately am not able to redirect to application after authentication(goes to a blank page), SR has been raised but couldn't get any further.
As a work around i have installed APEX using OHS and integrated it with WEBGATE and integrated it with sso (http://my.oracle.com/site/pdit/BusinessOpsIT/IdentityMgmtSvs/webgateHowTo).
I have used DAD confg as the APEX level authentication(No Authentication (using DAD)).
Everything worked successfully, now able to login to the application using Oracle ID, but once logged in to the application am not able to identify the user name, as it shows the APEX_PUBLIC_USER in the APP_USER variable.
please help me to identify the username logged in to the application.

Hi Sean,
That thread is taking about the UDF and FMS. If you need get the user name on the PLD, that is necessary first step. You have to create an UDF first and then assign that FMS query. After this step, you will be able to put this new field on your PLD.

How to improve the performance of the application

Hi,
We have customized the standard SRM BSP application and integrated to portal.
Now it has got some performence issues. It is taking time to load the page and also while navigating between the views.
We have done the performence tuning for the application to the maximum extent. But the problem is while loading the application, its taking time.
Can anyone suggest how to improve the performence of the Application.

The system configuration is more than enough to run java applications.
You are probalbly doing time-consuming operations in the event thread. Which blocks the event thread and the gui seems not to be responding. If you you have a very bad design.
Use a thread for time consuming operations.

-Xprof significantly decrease performance of the application

Problem:
java.exe -jar demo\jfc\SwingSet2\SwingSet2.jar
works fine but
java.exe -Xprof -jar demo\jfc\SwingSet2\SwingSet2.jar
works very slow almost not responding.
Indeed this problem appears not only on Swing demo.
JDK version is 1.6.0_02.
How to resolve or avoid this problem? Thank you.

I've found some info in relnotes.
"Use of the -Xprof option to generate profiling data can cause a significant slowdown in the execution of your application. To workaround this problem, you can use the following VM option:
-XX:SuspendRetryCount=5

Import of the application from one server to another

Hi There,
I have imported my application from one server to another.
Now when I am trying to log in to the application using the previous credentials, it simply reloads the log in page and it doesn't give invalid user name and password error also.
It just simply load the log in page once again.
What should I do? Where am I going wrong?

Where should I install the application itself as well as my library (SSD vs. HDD)?

I have a seperate OS 100GB Sata III SSD drive along with another a 240GB Sata III SSD and then a RAID 0 configuration of two 500GB 7200 regular HDD totalling about 950GB of space. I want to install Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere. Where shoud I put everything for best performance? The applications could go on the RAID 0 HDD drives and then put my video and picture library on the 240GB Sata III SSD drive. Wouldn't this allow for faster access to pictures and video since the application itself, once loaded, doesn't need to be accessed as often? It's been a while since I've used both of these programs. Isn't there also a "scratch" or "cache" directory as well? Where should I put that for best peformance?

Yes, the programs use their own cache/ swap files. Doesn't realyl matter where you put them. All your drivces are fast enough for any single one of them.

Only one person can log on to my application

After I deployed my JSP-application and I reloaded the OAS, the following problem occurred:
The first person, that logs on to the application is able to surf through all the pages.
All people who log on to the application after the first get the following error message:
"JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement: SELECT

Does anyone know what this means?

As noted above, If you have access to your computer. But that is a Very Bad Idea. That is how passwords get forgotten especially when you need to remember it.
What you don't like typing in a few letters when you start you computer? That also opens up the system from anyone walking buy and turn it on. It give them full acces to your private files.

Connecting views with the application

I am new to web dynpro. I am designing a web dynpro application where I have a log in view, in which the user will enter the username and the password. On submitting the user will be able to log in to the application. I have developed a ztable wherein I have maintained the user name and the passwords. Now I am not able to connect the view , component controller and the ztable. Please guide me as to how should I proceed.

1Create a node in component controller with name Logindata
Create the attributes userid and password .the attributes should be of the type where u have cretaed the fields in the table where u storing all the usernames and pass words.
2.Go to the view .
go to context tab.
drag and drop the node to the view's context.
3.desiging the lay out.
a..Create a view with has 2 fields User name(input field) and password(input field)
you can make the input field as password field by checking the property of the input field as passwordfield(flag the check box)
b.Create a button login.

Performance issue after application of patch ATG RUP 7

Dear Friends,
my env is Solaris SPARC 10 with 11.5.10.2 (10.2.0.4). I had applied upgraded developer 6i to 6.0.28 and applied ATG RUP7 patch last night and ever since the performance of the application is mighty slow. The concurrent programs take longer to run. The forms takes too much time to load(more than twice the time it used to than before). I can always see a load on the server level. I tried Gathering SCHEMA statistics for all users and its been running for the past 10 hours now. Could someone point me in the right direction as to what could have gone wrong. All the pre-req patches and post req patches have been applied as per the various docs.

Performance Impact for the Application when using ADFLogger

I am very new to ADFLogger and I am going to implement this in my Application. I go through Duncan Mill's acticles and got the basic understanding.
I have some questions to be clear.
Is there any Performance Impact when using ADFLogger to slower the Appllication.
Is there any Best Practices to follow with ADFLogger to minimize the negative impact(if exists).

Well, add a call to a logger is a method call. So if you add a log message for every line of code, you'll see an impact.
You can implement it in a way that you only write the log messages if the log level if set to a level which your logger writes (or lower). In this case the impact is like having an if statement, and a method call if the if statement returns true.
After this theory here is my personal finding, as I use ADFLogger quite a lot. In production systems you turn the log lever to WARNING or higher so you will not see many log messages in the log. Only when a problem is reported you set the log level to a lower value to get more output.
I normally use the 'check log level before logging a message' and the 'just print the message' combined. When I know that a message is printed very often, I first check the level. If I assume or know that a message is only logged seldom, I just log it.
I personally have not seen a negative impact this way.

My farm admin account have all server roles in SQL, it is runng the OWSTimer also and it is the AppPool Service App.
No specific error in the Application log from eventvwr on SharePoint Server.
No specific error log from SQL

We have found the problem. The organisation was asking us to reduce the number of Dynamic TCP Port.
Our setup was only 3,975
Netsh Int IPv4 Show Dyn TCP
Protocol tcp Dynamic Port Range
Start Port      : 1025
Number of Ports : 3975
We have use this command to raise the number of port available to 60,000
netsh int ipv4 set dyn tcp start=1025 num=60000
Everything is working now.

We are still having problems with the "Could not initialize the application's security component" error message after performing suggested fixes?

We have been attempting to resolve this error in our Lab Environment with FireFox version 14.0.1. The application has been virtually installed in our PC environment, running WIN 7 and launches without error for most users. When performing the suggest "fixes" at http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/couldnt-initialize-applications-security-component we found:
1. There is adequate hard drive space
2. Permissions are set correctly.
3. Once the "Cert8" file is deleted it does not regenerate upon logging out and relaunching Firefox. Not sure why this occurs.
4. Could not create a new profile since these rights are not extended to users in the lab environment.
Is anyone using Firefox in a similar lab environment, having this same issue and been able to resolve the problem? Does version 15.0.1 address this problem and provide a fix?

Try to remove or rename the secmod.db (secmod.db.old) file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
If that didn't help then remove or rename cert8.db (cert8.db.old) as well.

How to popup a msg from Oracle to all appl users logged in the Application

We are using Forms/Reports6i and database oracle9i
Does Oracle provide any message broadcast method to send messages to the Application users which are currently using the application.
If not then how it will be performed.
Suppose we have to send some server maintenance messages to all users so only all application users who are logged in to application must get these messages.No other users.....
For Example: 1 Server and 200 Application Users logged in..I want to send any message in oracle to all of them after they are logged in the application.

no - you have to wait till the next forms release. there you can do it
in between you have to work with timers, which query in the db, if there are new message for the user. build a news-table where you look into. Or build an AQ and write get-functions in db-packages, which you use in forms 6i for reading in the AQ.
but don't use (if possible) this timers in the web, because your performance will have problems then
