you have to buy it Stash, it's not with the program it's going to be released late march as an AU from Serato, the original Pitch'n'Time was like 899 bucks now it's down to 399 (something like that), I do agree that it is crap that Logic isn't developing there own algorithms for stretching audio, Acid has it, I'm 99% sure Cubase has it (Warp Audio or something to this effect) Reason even has it thanks to it's recycle and Dr.Rex, from what I hear Abletons is wicked, and I bet Sonar has it, but logic, nope, what it has is a very very buggy set of algorithms that either damage the original audio file, or are noticeably full of artifacts, but in their love for us, the customer, they've outsourced the issue to Serato, opps I ranted, my bad, cheers,

  • Creating standby or logical standby database manually?

    Hi,
I have to create 4 logical standby databases on a Linux Red Hat 64-bits server.
The primary databases reside on another Linux Red Hat 64-bits server.
The oracle database version is 10.2.0.3.
    The question is as follows:
Should I create the logical standby databases manually or should I do it with the Oracle EM Grid Control?
I have read that the creation of standby databases with the Grid Control is very straightforward, but I really want to read of some of your experiences.
I have read that there are some problems in Grid Control with the test of Failover and Switchover.
    Please advice.

    Hi,
    It all depends.
I assume you don't backup your database to tape using RMAN.
Do you backup your database to disk using RMAN?
You would need to set up NFS links from your standby server to the primary server.
For this purpose, in 9i, I made sure my disk backup ended up in <directory>/backup/<nodename>, so I could easily set up a NFS link.
If you do it manually, you need to have made a full database RMAN backup first.
Probably Grid Control is taking care of this for you.
I have done it once using database control in 10g. It is really simple, and you just have to click a few buttons and sit back.
Doing it manually is slightly more work: you need to make sure parameters are correct and you need to write a (generic) script of less than 10 lines.
You probably do have more control over it, though RMAN's duplicate database command is robust and can be restarted easily.
I can't answer your last remark.

  • Provide Feedback for the Logic Pro User Manual and Onscreen Help Here

The Apple documentation team for Logic Pro would like to know what you think about the Logic Pro Help documentation (available in the Help menu):
    • How often do you use Logic Pro Help? Under what circumstances do you use it most?
    • Do you use the printed manual or the onscreen help more? Which one do you prefer?
    • How do you find what you're looking for in Logic Help: table of contents, index, skimming, PDF links, PDF search?
    • What do you like about the Logic help?
    • What would you like to see us improve? What is missing?
    • What needs more in-depths coverage in the Logic help?
    • In learning Logic, did you use the Logic Getting Started Guide? If so, do you feel the book provided a good introduction to the application? Is there anything you can think of that would make the Getting Started Guide more helpful to you? Did you use the tutorial song that accompanies the Getting Started guide?
    • What are the most important concepts/features a new user has to understand to get started with Logic?
    • By what method do you ususally learn a new application? For example: provided manuals, third-pary tutorials or books, training classes?
    • Are there any particular examples of manuals or online help that you consider to be good models for the Logic Pro manual and onscreen help?
    • What do you think is the most difficult feature/concept to grasp in Logic Pro?
    • What's the most frustrating experience you've had with the Logic Pro documentation?
    • Are there any other methods of delivery or media you think we should explore?
    • What size of computer display do you typically use to view the onscreen help? For example: 12, 15, 17, 20, 23, or 30-inch?
    • What resolution is the computer display set to when viewing Onscreen Help? For example: 1024 x 768, 1280 x 854, or 1920 x 1200 pixels?
    • Do you use multiple computer displays?

    • How often do you use Logic Pro Help? Under what
circumstances do you use it most?
I use it often. not everyday, but there is always some little command or procedure that you can't remember
    • Do you use the printed manual or the onscreen help
more? Which one do you prefer?
I use them both, but the onscreen help a little more often. Some times I like to walk away from the computer and sit on the couch and read the manual, just to have a change of scenery
    • How do you find what you're looking for in Logic
Help: table of contents, index, skimming, PDF links,
    PDF search?
    Table of contents and search
    • What do you like about the Logic help?
It's right there on the computer, and being able to search by key words
    • What would you like to see us improve? What is
    missing?
I think real time animation would be real cool but I doubt that is practical
    • What needs more in-depths coverage in the Logic
    help?
Things that Logic has and you won't find in other programs, like explaining the environment in more detail. how to make better use of transformers. The Transform window could be explained more clearly.
    • In learning Logic, did you use the Logic Getting
Started Guide? If so, do you feel the book provided a
good introduction to the application? Is there
anything you can think of that would make the Getting
Started Guide more helpful to you? Did you use the
tutorial song that accompanies the Getting Started
    guide?
I didn't use it, although it looks great, I went right into the reference manual. I did look at the tutorial song, which was nice cause it gave me some hands on experience with moving things around
    • What are the most important concepts/features a new
user has to understand to get started with Logic?
Logic is different that other DAW's. Logic's way of doing things may seem real strange to someone who came from using another program. as I said before, spend more time on things that are only found in Logic, like the environment. It really frightens some people.
Many of the questions here in this forum are midi related. people seem to be having a real hard time making midi work in Logic. The manual could be more detailed in explaining midi communication and how the environment is the heart of all of this
    • By what method do you usually learn a new
    application? For example: provided manuals,
third-pary tutorials or books, training classes?
Provided manuals and a lot of trial and error. Also forums such as this are a great asset
    • Are there any particular examples of manuals or
online help that you consider to be good models for
the Logic Pro manual and onscreen help?
No, logic's manual is as good as most others.
    • What do you think is the most difficult
feature/concept to grasp in Logic Pro?
For me it was the transform window, it took me a while to get the hang of it. none of the other programs I worked in had anything quite like it.
    • What's the most frustrating experience you've had
    with the Logic Pro documentation?
there are a few errors, so it is frustrating when you are following the manual but not achieving your goal. For example, page 112 says:
There are two possible locations for user icons:
The ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Logic Resources/Icons folder can contain icons which are only valid for the particular user (~ is the user name). If you save your icons in the root directory—/Library/Application Support/Logic/Logic Resources/Icons—the icons are valid for all users. If icons with identical numbers exist in both folders, the icons found in the user folder have priority.
But this is not the case, they actually go in /Library/Application Support/Logic/images/Icons
there was a couple other mistakes like this too, but i can't remember right now
    • Are there any other methods of delivery or media
    you think we should explore?
If you wanted to get into doing video tutorial, that would be cool. there is a web site called atomic learning http://www.atomiclearning.com/ they have quicktime video tutorials for a ton of different software applications, some apple, and for a flat fee of 79.99 for a year you can spend as much time as you like learning all of the software applications. I may sign up to learn Web design, and maybe final cut pro. Apple could do something like that for all of the apple software and do it much better I would think, and you guys would make a fortune. well I guess not compared to the fortune you are already making
    • What size of computer display do you typically use
to view the onscreen help? For example: 12, 15, 17,
    20, 23, or 30-inch?
    20 in cinema display
    • What resolution is the computer display set to when
    viewing Onscreen Help? For example: 1024 x 768, 1280
    x 854, or 1920 x 1200 pixels?
    1344 X 840
    • Do you use multiple computer displays?
    no, just the one

  • Acrobat X Quick Manual Link Building

I’m trying to highlight rows of text to manually add links to them. The problem is the highlighting becomes unstable with the line between the text and page number. If you strictly highlight the text or page number it is stable but that forces me to add two links. One link for the text and another for the page number, with no link in between. I have never had this problem in older versions of Acrobat or any other program. In the past I just quickly highlighted the full row and added link. Plus doing this is much slower in Acrobat X. Does anybody have any work-a-rounds or quick solutions for manual link building? I’ve added a general example below:

  • Reconciliation: Manually link not matched accounts to OIM users

    Hi all,
Is it possible to manually link a reconciled account to a OIM user?
When reconciliation process is finished, in the reconciliation manager there are a few accounts that are not matched (to OIM users). This is beacuse they are "service accounts" or resource "administrative accounts", and the user ID of the reconciled account is not equal to any existing OIM user (xellerate users).
In that case, we want to manually link those accounts to an administrator (OIM users). So, when listing the resource profile of that user, those accounts are showed as provisioned.
By now, we are trying to achieve that, only that, not any service account behaviour (that will be the next goal).
    Regards.

    Thank you.
We have solved it in the following way:
1.- RO: create a "dummy" recon field.
2.- Recon Connector (java code): create a field (uid_to_map), but not added to the hashmap. So, this field is added to the reconciliation event as "unprocessed".
3.- Create a Recon Rule, to map OIM "User Id" -> RO "dummy"
    4.- Perform reconciliation.
5.- Edit the reconciliation event. Edit the unprocessed field "uid_to_map", linking it with "dummy" recon field, and introducing the OIM user ID of the OIM user we want to link to.
    6.- Re-apply the matching rule.
So, the account is linked to the user.
Maybe it could help somebody who needs the same functionality.

  • Learning Logic Pro 9 - Exploring Logic Pro (Tutorial/Manual)

Logic Pro 9 - Exploring Logic Pro (Tutorial/Manual)
I worked the tutorial through to page 73. While I was working I realized that "Chuck Vox Alt " is the second take in the printed book but in "Exploring Logic Pro Demo Project" ("The Numbers Game") on the screen it is take one (so it is above and not below take 2). And  "Chuck Vox TNG" (take 2) is named "Chuck Vox 2" (take 1) in the book! Because of this I can't do the second section of page 73 ("Edit the comp")!
I'm stuck here. Please help me!
    Thank you!

Thanks for your answer. Sorry I'm still a beginner with Logic.
I've not spent much time yet - just read the tutorial until p. 73. This is how it looks:
I can't test it out on another sound recording because I don't have another one yet.
How can I create or import one? Thanks again!

  • Can anyone download the Logic Pro x manual?

Is anyone able to download the Logic Pro X manual from apple's site? I keep trying on my ipad but it crashes it every time, same with iPhone? Surely it can't be just on the mac, I want a stand alone manual I can refer to separately when recording, or even to read up on when I'm away from my studio. The other 2 smaller ones downloaded no problem. Any help is appreciated, thank you

    Hi
Yep.... just crashed Safari on my iPad Air (iOS 7.0.4).
    A second attempt worked OK
You could always add it from your Mac via iBooks or a PDF reader app and iTunes?

  • Is there a way on logic studio to laterally link songs for live settings. I never switched to ableton as my tracks are not as loop based and am trying to figure out a way to create a stream of linked songs without blowing out my cpu- maybe logic studio?

i think my question is in the header but i have this dream of taking a string of tracks(songs) and having them synched in a way that I can bring in a kick of one while my synth line from the last is still running- like spinning records but this sounds like a dream because that means two songs would have to be up at once and not only that but timed to be playing at once (all tracks connected to external controllers too) and the CPU would be crazy. This idea would be for the developers to figure out a way to create a system that allows the host song to fade out as the new one comes in in terms of power and their would have to be a new interface that would link the two. i am an electronic dance music producer and some songs are 8 minutes long with some of the tracks as composition piano styles that is hard to loop up and put inside a system like ableton to trigger and the accompanying string lines that are timed against the pianos so was just looking for a way to embed from track to track... any thoughts out there- i am now switching over to studio from pro for 4 years so maybe it's already done but for some reason - i think not. Hope my question is not too silly for the serious pro's out there.
Also, maybe logic should have an appendage platform to each individual track that has a pop and play interface to it that allows people to easily trigger and play each song live. Each song has a live version that has a brighter easier platform to see at night shows and it is still embedded within the original track-- then these appendage live songs can then be linked together. This appendage could be called LOGIC LIVE tracks.

I almost forgot that using folders can allow each folder to contain a song. I also recall touch tracks or one key play...

  • How to manually link Facebook profiles with people in my Contacts?

I have switched from 9900 Bold to z10 but I can't find the "link this contact to FB" option anywhere.
I know that z10 will eventually link all Contacts with FB, but from what I have read "NOT ALL OF THEM" because some of them don't match the names on FB with how I created them in Contacts.
Is there a "manually" way of linking Facebook profiles with appropriate Contact entry?

If you Go into your Contacts(icon), swipe from top down, settings, turn on show account in contact list and make sure facebook is on.  Once you do that, it will add your facebook contacts in the contacts list.
Bring up the facebook contact now with search in contacts, open contact and there is an option to link. then select the contact you want to link to. Hope this helps.

  • S10-3s Hardware Maintenance Manual Link + s10-3t, S9e, S10e, S10

I've been looking for a HMM for the s10-3t for awhile now... no luck yet.  Anyone seen one?
Searching lenovo.com.cn I did stumble across one for the s10-3s.  I haven't seen this one posted anywhere on the Internet yet- and it didn't come up on the US Lenovo.com website either:
    http://consumerdl.lenovo.com.cn/UserFiles/UserGuide/en/User's guides and manuals/HMM Update/Lenovo I...
Dated March 2010, it doesn't cover the 3t, but it is *much* closer to the s10-3t than the  older S9e, S10e, S10 HMM here:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-71062
Just thought I'd post the links so that anyone who needs 'em can get a copy.

    Great opening post Carsten!
    The latest bios:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-71252 (BIOS 66)
The FSB can be reduced from 133MHz to 100MHz using SetFSB, this also reduces the heat:
    http://www13.plala.or.jp/setfsb/
    clockgen = SLG8SP513V
If you add a shortcut to the startup folder the program will start at startup. Under properties you can change the target to:
    "C:\Program Files\SetFSB\setfsb.exe" -s100 -b1 -cg[SLG8SP513V] -w20
So it starts with a FSB of 100Mhz, in the background, with the right clock generator, after 20 seconds.

  • Manually Link AD Accounts to OIM Users

I am implementing OIM in an environment where AD has existed for many years. In that environment a number of users have both their "normal" AD account and another "admin" account. During the initial reconciliation process, the "normal" accounts are linked correctly to the the OIM users. The "admin" accounts are not linked to the users since the matching rules do not fit the alternate naming convention used for these accounts. And the unfortunate thing is that, although there is a distinct naming method for these admin accounts, doing a 1 to 1 match in reverse is not really possible.
So what I would like to be able to do in the console Reconciliation Manager is to select the unmatched AD account, manually search for/select an OIM user and establish the link. So the question is:
Is there a method available to manually establish a link between an existing target resourse account and an existing OIM user profile? What approach should I take?

    Use linkEventToUser API

  • WRV54g Manual Link

I am a web engineer and database manager and after 20 minutes searching this site and yahoo, I am AMAZED that it is nearly impossible for me to find any sort of link to download the manual for my router?
I am at work and I need to walk my wife thru the release and renew of our IP address on the router (our cable provider was down for some time) and I cannot find any link or reference to this download the manual.
Linksys, aaaa, how about an obvious link called "Download the manual for your device" and put is on the products support page?
Sorry for the rant, but I would be fired (and hung) if I designed a site so 'anti user friendly' as the 'new' linksys site.

    Download UserGuide
    Also you can try this,
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Type admin for both Username and Password...It should open your router set-up...
Click on the Status tab, you will see the DHCP Release and DHCP Renew radio buttons...If the WAN IP Address is 0.0.0.0, then click on DHCP Renew, if it does Renew the WAN IP Address then you need to power cycle your modem and the Router...
Unplug the Power cable from your modem and then the router, wait for 1 minute then plug in the Modem Power, wait for another minute and plug in the Router Power...See if you have Internet Access...
If the above fails, access your router setup again and click on MAC Address clone, Enable it and click Clone your PC's MAC and click Save Settings, check the WAN IP Address under Status, if there is no WAN IP click DHCP Renew and Power cycle your modem and your router both...

  • P6N SLI Platinum- Cannot set Memory Speed -Manual/Linked

It doesn't seem to matter whether I have the memory set to Linked or Manual- I get the Linked setting in any OC setup.  ??? At stock AUTO, it puts it at the rated 800mhz (pc6400), though.
So for a 1520FSB setting (=380), it sets the memory to 760 in both the Linked setting and the Manual setting.  Sounds like something in the bios, but I have tried the 1.0, 1.1, and 1.22b bioses with the same result!
Unfortunately, I recorded my OC settings but not the output on my first numerous attempts. But I want to say that originally, when I started the OC's, when I set the memory to Manual it ended up being Linked. And vice versa. So that at 1400FSB (350) --Linked, it gave me the 800 Memory setting and at 1400 (350) --Manual, it gave me 700 on the memory. But I'm not positive now (about a hundred OC settings later --and yes now I've been writing it down) that it ever worked right.
Any help or thoughts? Anyone else with this problem? Any fixes?

MSI BIOS is not flexible in overclocking or changing DDR RAM Timing settings. Please live with it and trial and error with the RAM timing setting that yields the best result.
I'm just supposed to accept the fact that you cannot set the ram to a manual timing, that it will always run as linked..... then why have the option to select it in the bios if it's not going to be functional. That's just unacceptable!  live with it......right ! That's shoddy at best.!
Didn't have this problem with any Asus board (which has been several) or Abit board that I've owned!
