Ketan,
So you want the Windows Login screen to handle the login authentication
and not the SGD Tier 3 passcache to handle this? If so then make sure
to reverse the Microsoft authentication settings
http://www.tarantella.com/documentation/sgd/ee/3.42/help/en-us/wcp/gettingstarted/terminal_server_config.html#authentication
and disable passcache and "Save Password" via
http://www.tarantella.com/documentation/sgd/ee/3.42/help/en-us/base/standard/am_launch.html
This will then have the effect of not SGD prompting and the Windows
Login screen being displayed for authentication. It will prompt users
every time and for every application.

  • NCL and LUM gives: micasa broken and initial NCL login has scripts disabled at every login - so you have to change it manually after every reboot

    I just made an interesting discovery.
    I cloned an existing VM and moved it to another physical machine. This
    machine was initially installed without LUM and as long as LUM was not
    configured and only local authentication took place everything (NCL,
    Micasa and integrated login) worked as documented.
    After configuring LUM authentication, the following does not work:
    Micasa (it does only work as long as the machine is up, after a restart
    you have to enter passwords for all micasa enabled applications if you
    use them for the first time during uptime)
    NCL does not save the settings for scripts, they are always disabled by
    default after the machine has come up. The settings for scripts do work
    for all subsequent logins, just not for the first after booting the
    machine.
    The same behaviour is shown by another machine, which has LUM
    configured for authentication.
    Machines do not show this behaviour if using a local only user or if
    LUM authentication is removed.

  • Access Server console could not login due to disable /access policy domain

    I misconfig to disable the /access policy domainn. And now the Access Server console could not login, alway loop at initial page. Identity Server console no problem.
    Is there any method could enable the /access again? Customer could not accept the reinstallation due to this small problem.
    Thank you.

    Easiest way is to temporarily disable the webgate in the web server configuration - if it is IIS just remove the webgate from the ISAPI filters tab and restart IIS, if Apache revert back to an httpd.conf without the webgate entries.

  • Can Login Items be disabled instead of just hidden/removed?

    cderalow wrote in another thread:
    "system preferences

    I always thought unchecking just made the app hidden on login but still launched. Is there a way of disabling items in this window instead of deleting them?
    Thanks.
    :-Joe

    Oh, I see. Hmmm, unfortunately, I can't think of an easy way to do that, off hand.
    The "login items" in the "Accounts" pref pane are recorded in the user's "~/Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist" file. Conceptually, you could do what you are asking by backing up the original file, removing all login items, then editing the real file manually by copying back individual items from the backup. I suppose this might be slightly easier than having to open "System Preferences", then navigating to each individual item to be added back after each log in test -- but not by much.
    For example, suppose you open "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "Terminal.app" and run this command:<pre>plutil -convert xml1 ~/Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist -o ~/Desktop/loginwindowBackup.plist</pre>A plain text XML version of the file should be created on your "Desktop" (the command assumes that a file named "loginwindowBackup.plist" did not already exist there - if it did, it would have been overwritten so be careful). It should be possible to open that file in a text editor, such as eg. "TextEdit.app".
    The "login items" are specified in the 'AutoLaunchedApplicationDictionary', which is bounded by the '<array></array>' tags. Within this array, each individual "login item" is specified within a "dictionary" entry (bounded by '<dict></dict>' tags), containing keys such as 'AliasData', 'Path', etc. Anyway, that whole dictionary entry (including the opening and closing 'dict' tags represents the "login item".
    So it should be possible to copy and paste one or more entries from the backup into a second copy of the "loginwindow.plist" file. After editing, that file (renamed "loginwindow.plist") could be copied back into "~/Library/Preferences", prior to logging out and back in to test the login item.
    It's probably easier than I have made it sound - easier on a technical level, at least, but still tedious to execute in practice...

  • Can't send or receive emails using Windows Live Mail. Webmail login says "account disabled."

    Since yesterday we have not been able to access our Verizon email through Windows Live Mail or loging on to the webmail service.  Nothing happens and we get a "accounts disabled" message.  I checked all of the POP settings and it won't connect.  When we try to log in to the verizon webmail service, it says our accounts have been disabled.  Please tell us what is going on. I've chatted with a representative and am speaking to one on the phone and they can't tell me why it's disabled or how they can enable it again.

    Ok, now they're telling us that one of our email accounts is associated with someone in Texas.  But we're from California and have always lived here.

  • MDT 2012 Update 1 - Deployment - Auto Login won't Disable

    Hello,
    I am using MDT 2012 Update 1 with an almost vanilla Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 test box. I can deploy both images fine and get a success on my summary but both machines continue to auto login to the Administrator account. To my understanding, the Auto Login
    should be shutoff via the LTIcleanup script. When I double check the script for the reg keys that are added/deleted I can confirm that this is happening but the images still continue to auto login to the admin account.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thought I would let those who are interested know. After speaking with Microsoft Premier Support they determined that you must have a password on the Administrator account. If you don't then something goofs up and causes the auto logon issues that I was
    having.

  • Remote login, "access account" disabled

    Hi,
    we have a network (all macs) where all the users have their home directory on the server and each user can login from any mac on the network and find his files.
    Everything works fine (now, has not been that easy...).
    From a couple of days when a user tries to login from a network machine receives a message saying thet his/her account has expired, contact the network admin...
    I open workgroup manager and all the users have the box "access account" not checked.
    So, I check the box back to activate it and everything goes ok.
    The next morning, again with the same situation.
    What can be disactivating the access account checkbox?
    Any idea? May be that playing around I configured something that can have this result?
    Thank you for your help.

    I don't know if this may help:

  • Why do office applications autostart when they are disabled in login items and individually in 'open at login' in dock?

    When I start the Mac word, excel, powerpoint and skype all autostart. I already tried some of the posted solutions to this like changing the system preferences (login items) and disabling the 'open at login' for each application on the dock, but it doesn't seem to work. What am I missing?

    One of the features of Mac OS X Lion (the system you are running) is that it restarts all applications that were running the last time you were logged in.
    So, if you are now running e.g. Word, Mail, Skype, then they will all automatically relaunch upon your next login.
    When you logout/shut down/restart, you get a dialog asking whether you are sure to logout. In that dialog there is a checkmark that indicates whether all running apllications have to be relaunched upon your next login. If you deselect the checkmark, your running applications won't automatically relaunch on your next login.

  • Disable auto login from terminal in 10.6

    Hi everyone,
    What is the command to disable automatic login from the command line in 10.6? I cannot simply delete the com.apple.loginwindow.plist file as I have other settings I need to keep.
    TIA!
    Andrew

    Hi,
    you can use the defaults system to edit this preferences file. The autologin option is stored in /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow in a key named autoLoginUser followed by the user name who is configured for an auto login. To disable this option you can simply delete the autoLoginUser key by using the following command:
    defaults delete /library/preferences/com.apple.loginwindow autoLoginUser
    You can check the content of a preferences file by using the defaults read command:
    -----------------------snip--------------------------
    defaults read /library/preferences/com.apple.loginwindow
    OptimizerLastRunForBuild = 21186464;
    OptimizerLastRunForSystem = 168166144;
    lastUser = loggedIn;
    lastUserName = pronto;

  • Deployment stuck at "Connecting to database...." at Unifier login page. Login button disabled

    I've been working on deploying the 9.13 version of Unifier. Everything stood up fine, however at the Unifier login screen, it shows "Connecting to Database..." above the username and password entry forms, and the Login button is disabled and I cannot proceed any farther in the setup. Checking the SQL tabular view, the DB is empty. Can anyone point me as to where I might have missed a step?

    Hi,
    It sounds like you are running into a known bug (although it says it was fixed in 9.12.0.3 it might have still found it's way into 9.13.0.0)
    Let us know how you go with the following steps:
    1. Stop the Unifier web server instance.
    2. Navigate to the [Unifier Installation Home]\apps\ROOT\WEB-INF\classes directory and open the datasource.properties file in a text editor.
    3. Update the server= line to include the name of the Unifier database in the databaseName= portion. Also remove the portion after the databaseName= portion.
    Example before change:
    server=jdbc:sqlserver://localhost\:1433;selectMethod=cursor;databaseName=;sele
    ctMethod=cursor;
    Example after change (database name is unifierdb):
    server=jdbc:sqlserver://localhost\:1433;selectMethod=cursor;databaseName=unifi
    erdb;

  • Need help to create a login for maintenance of a single database in a multiple databases, single instance environment

    Hi,
    We are in the process of consolidating several databases on a single instance of SQL Server 2012.
    Databases are developed by outside vendors; they have to be able to install and support their databases but they shouldn't be able to do any thing with the other databases.
    When I tried to migrate the first database, the vendor told me that on the former server he used the sa account in some batch.
    On a previous thread
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/dc1f802f-d8de-4e2b-87e5-ccb289593fb7/security-for-multiple-applications-on-a-single-sql-server-2012-instance?forum=sqlsecurity
    it was suggested to me that I create a login for each vendor and that this login should map a user in their respective databases.
    To test, I simulated the process in a test database:
    1 - I create the login and I scripted the command:
    USE [master]
    GO
    /* For security reasons the login is created disabled and with a random password. */
    /****** Object:  Login [M02_Test]    Script Date: 2014-12-02 16:23:58 ******/
    CREATE LOGIN [M02_Test] WITH PASSWORD=N'ÈS^y¡¶=Å€"+y¤j|úªhÖféÎЕœEu
    c', DEFAULT_DATABASE=[M02], DEFAULT_LANGUAGE=[us_english], CHECK_EXPIRATION=OFF, CHECK_POLICY=OFF
    GO
    ALTER LOGIN [M02_Test] DISABLE
    GO
    2 - I create the user and scripted it
    USE [M02]
    GO
    /****** Object:  User [M02_Test]    Script Date: 2014-12-02 16:29:41 ******/
    CREATE USER [M02_Test] FOR LOGIN [M02_Test] WITH DEFAULT_SCHEMA=[dbo]
    GO
    Questions:
    What should we do with te scrambled password: is it saved as it was entered and should it be kept somewhere in a safe place?
    Would that do the job for the vendor who used sa before?
    Thanks for your advice

    I'm not sure why you would save the script. Why not create the login, in one way or another give the vendor the password. Keep the login disabled until needed.
    I don't recall exactly what we said last time, but it occurs to me that the application setup things on server level. Jobs is the prime thing that comes to mind, but there could be other things.
    Now, here is an important observation. As long as the vendor's application was alone on the server, that was OK, and it was OK to give the vendor sysadmin rights. In this situation this is less OK, and as we said, you should only give the vendor db_owner
    in the database.
    But the vendor will need to tell you what they do on server-level. They should know this - unless they sell their app as a "alone-on-a-server application". (And there are indeed such applications out there, even from Microsoft.) But there is a
    risk that they will bill you extra if you make their installation more difficult.
    Maybe you will have to give some vendors sysadmin for the installation, but in such case, you should ask them why they need it. If they don't, give them db_owner, and they will have to find out their hard way. (And you don't pay them for learning
    their own application.)

  • Manual login to Non Default DB with SSO enabled

    Hi,
    I logged the following through SAP Support, but was advised that Single Sign-On was functionining as designed.  The issue is that the non-default database does not have a manual login page, whereas the default database does.  This is an issue for us, because we have two completely separate database, and cannot allow a User with a Windows AD account to login manually without disabling his Windows AD access altogether.
    Refer to SAP Message detail below:
    Please advise how we can login users manually to SSM when accessing
    the "non default" SSM Database when they have Single Sign-On access.
    We have 3 Users that generally will access the system using Single Sign-On, but will occasionally have to enter information using a generic
    User ("Initiator").
    We have a path that we can use for manual login to the default
    Database, however this appears to only work for the Default Database:
    http://ssmdev:50000/strategy/login/start.jsp
    This will only work for the Default Database (set as pw database in
    Java System Properties).
    The following path to the non-default Database (EPM Database) results
    in automatic login for the user:
    http://ssmdev:50000/strategy/pilotworks/start.jsp?PilotWorksDB=EPM
    Is there a path we can use to provide the manual login page for
    the "Non Default Database"
    Steps for Reconstruction
    As above, login by the Users does not allow manual login to the Non
    Default Database, EPM.

    Hi Scott,
    Sorry, I missunderstood your initial question and the documentation I referenced is not updated appropriately. You have to change the connection string to <server-name>.database.secure.windows.net when you enable the security/auditing features.
    Documentation for this can be found
    here

    Jan
