Logon really slow for XP computers but fine with Windows 7

Hi,
We have 2 domain controllers (both running 2008 R2) and a few hundred computers on our domain.
Since the past 3 weeks, we've been experiencing really slow logins for computers with Windows XP (doesn't seem to affect the computers with win7). It happens once a week in the morning. If we reboot both DCs, problem goes away.
I've checked the logs and i don't see anything wrong. As far as i know, nothing special was done lately.
Since i can't reproduce the problem and the logs are clean, it's really hard to put the finger on the culprit.
I'd really appreciate some ideas or past experiences.

If it happen after the user enter the credential, I would activate the gpsvc.log to monitor the winlogon. That log will show, with a timestamp, what is applied when the user login. Really usefull to find bloat GPO that take too much time to execute or such.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click
OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click
Key.
Type Diagnostics, and then press ENTER.
Right-click the Diagnostics subkey, point to New, and then click
DWORD Value.
Type GPSvcDebugLevel, and then press ENTER.
Right-click GPSvcDebugLevel, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 0x30002, and then click
OK.
Exit Registry Editor.
At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
gpupdate /force
View the Gpsvc.log file in the following folder:
%windir%\debug\usermode

HP B500 Wireless Bluethooth Adapter for HP Printer Not Working With Windows 8.1

I have been using the HP BT500 bluetooth Wireless adapter to print wirelessly to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer. I have been using Windows Vista, but recently upgraded to Windows 8.1. I learned after the upgrade that the HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter is not compatable with Windows 8.1. I have attempted to find a driver upgrade for the B500, but there does not appear to be one available. I have also searched the HP site and other sites in an attempt to locate an alter wireless blotth adapter to replace the B500, but have again been unable to locate one.
Is there a wireless bluetooth apter that will allow me to print wirelessly to my HP Office Pro 8500 from my laptop?

Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter for your HP Officejet 8500 is not working with Windows 8.1. I am sorry to hear this but happy to look into this for you!
I am not sure if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System. But sometimes with Windows 8.1 you can use compatibility mode to install an older version of the driver. Which might help the situation. Here is a link to some other Windows drivers, HP bt500 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter Drivers.
Once you got a driver downloaded, follow this guide, Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows, on how to install it using compatibility mode. It is not guaranteed to work, but it is worth a try!
If you still need me to look for other bluetooth adapters, please respond with your printer's Product/Model Number. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number. As there are multiple HP Officejet 8500 printers.

I annoct empty my cache even using tools and tried Norton, need it for farmville, running really slow for over a week.

I ave tried to uninstall twice and the second time removed everything and started over completely, went right to Farmville with same results, then went to tools to see if it would empty and would not. Is there any way to manually empty the cache, was really impressed with Firefox when I started using it, this is the only problem, unfortunately for me a big one.

Slow wireless with Powerbook, but fine with iBook?!

I'm currently using a campus wireless net and my Powerbook G4 is really, really, slow but my newer iBook G4 is much faster. When plugged in with an ethernet cable, however, both are equally fast. Does anyone have any idea why this could be so, and how I could go about fixing it? I unfortunately have no details on the wireless net.

that the lower the reception the slower the speed.

HT4889 Source computer getting stuck on "looking for other computers", but target computer finds source computer.

I'm hoping someone can help me get my source computer to find my target computer when running Migration Assistant. The source computer (late '08 macbook pro running OS X 10.7.5) gets stuck on "looking for other computers". But target computer (late '09 imac running OS X 10.7.5) finds source computer. Both show they are connected to same wifi network in System Preferences-network. Note: I have tried with both internet sharing on and off. Note: Source computer also can't find its external hard drive when plugged in. Related? Any ideas for either issue?

In my old Mac (Pro) I have several hard drives installed. I was able to create a Time Machine back-up to a non-system HD. I plan on removing this volume and putting it in an external enclosure as soon as I can find the right cables for that enclosure. Meanwhile....
I saw on one support doc an instruction to open Sharing on the source Mac (my old one, in this case) and make sure the machine had a name specified. I already had done that, but noticed that a specific name based on that was mentioned for other computers to contact it. For example, if my source machine is named "myOldMac", other computers could address is at "myOldMac.local".
I connected the two computers directly via an Ethernet cable and I ran Migration Assistant again. When I got to the "Looking for source" screen, I clicked the button for "Other Server" and entered "afp://myOldMac.local". This actually found my old Mac. I was prompted to enter the password for the account "root". I changed the name to my account's short name -- "raboyle" not "Robert Boyle" -- and entered the correct password and I actually got a list of volumes to access. In the list were: the hard drives (by volume name), the home folders of the user accounts, and the Public Folders for each user account.
I tried accessing both my boot volume and the home folder for my primary account, and proceeded to a screen with the following text: "Choose which backup to transfer information from:". The list provided, however, was empty. On the chance that it was looking specifically for a Time Machine backup, I then specifically chose the HD volume with the backup I had just created. Again, the list to choose where to grab my data from was empty.
So, at least I'm advancing a little bit beyond the "Looking for source" screen ... but then again, since I hit yet another roadblock I can't say whether I've taken one step forward or two steps back.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

3. Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

Ad Banner Problem with Firefox but fine with IE

Hello Ajax,
I have created my second websites name greencityaac.com under my L:\aacix\greencityaac. When it underconstruction I save all the files under location aacix folder and I have no problem to browse greencityaac web on either Firefox or IE.
But after I moved to a new location such as L:\GreenCityAAC, I got the message and cant view flash when I tried to browse greencityaac.com on Firefox but fine on IE.

Is it related to java paths after I moved it to the new location? I already copied fphover, fphoverx, fprotate and fprotatex from aacix to greencityaac but still have problem.
Can you please help? You can take a look greencityaac.com on Firefox and IE then you will see what I'm trying to say.

SLOW BROADBAND ON iMac BUT NOT ON WINDOWS!!!

Right... I have a major problem. I got a new iMac 24", and everything runs perfectly. But... I have "8MB" Broadband, on my PC's (3 Different Windows Ones I Have) the bandwidth speed tests are off the chart usually about 500+ Kbps. But on my iMac 24" I only get about 150Kbps. I have changed nearly every setting I can think off, DNS etc. I am using a belkin 54g router. My Windows' PC's download stuff at about 300-400Kbps but on my iMac download speeds top off at about 130Kbps. Can someone please give me a solution to sort this out. I have also turned off IPv6 and have tried multiple DNS settings etc. I have settled with the same network settings as my Windows Computers but still I only get 1MB worth of internet. Any help will be much appreciated.

Poor OTA reception with Windows 7 Media Center but fine with other software and my TV

I installed a new tuner (ASUS EHD3-100 dual ATSC tuners) into my Inspiron 518 (7 Enterprise, C2Q 2.4GHz, 3GB RAM, 640GB HDD, Radeon 5450 512MB, most recent drivers and updates installed). Tried to set up the tuner in windows 7 media
center and had to add the tuners manually. It found all the stations I was looking for but many had only one red bar for signal strength. If the stars line up correctly I can watch the stations with one red bar but most of the time I get an error
message. I even have one station with all green bars but Media Center still gives me an error when I try to watch that station.
I then decided to use the software that came with my tuner (ARCsoft Total Media). All stations came in with a strong signal.
The signal used in both situations came directly (I unplugged the cable from my TV and plugged it into the tuner) from an antenna in my attic that has been connected to my TV (Pioneer PDP-4280) which shows a signal strength of ~60% plus for all stations.
Pretty sure it's not a signal strength or quality issue because everything works fine with the TV and with Total Media.
Would rather use Media Center because it seems easier to navigate and is easier on the eyes.
Any ideas on how to get the stations with only one red bar of signal strength working in Media Center?

If you're having trouble setting up your TV signal, try using the Set up TV tuner troubleshooter to automatically find and fix some common problems.

Troubleshooting. In the left pane, click View all, and then click
Set up TV tuner.

Samsung LCD not working in Vista, but fine with OSX. Help!

Ok guys. I have read some of the posts on this topic, but they really haven't been helpful, so I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a Samsung 4671 TV, that when connected through DVI to HDMI on my MBP on OSX it works fine, on Vista my TV says mode not supported. Since, it works fine with OSX, I kind of doubt it is the TV. Has anyone had this problem with a similar setup and gotten it to work? Thanks.

I suspect it's the Vista DVI driver that is at fault. A Google search with 'Vista DVI driver apple' shows that others are having your same problem.
