LogonServer Message with XML Datasource

Afternoon all.
I'm making a ODBC connection to an XML file using a CR ODCB XML 5.3 driver (crdb_odbc.dll). The process (which is being run from a handheld scanner) is basically this: create an XML file with the data I want to see on my report, programmatically connect to the XML file, open the report, print it, create a PDF file of the report just printed, close everything, and delete the XML file.
It works perfectly, everything seems to be printing correctly, but I am getting a LogonServer error in my server log occassionally when I'm accessing this XML file.
I've actually got two different XML files being accessed from two different reports, both of which are accessed in succession. Whenever the LogonServer message occurs, it occurs for both reports. It does not occur for just one report or the other.
My initial thoughts on this dealt with some connectivity issues due to the handheld. It tries to make the connection, can't and creates the LogonServer message. It sits there until it can make a connection, and then creates the report / PDF and continues on like nothing happened, other then the error message.
Is this something that can be experienced due to connectivitiy errors or is it another issue that I'm not thinking of? I am just using a blank username / password combination, as I thought that could be the cause, but it seems to work correctly the majority of the time.
Connection code (Progress 4GL)
/* Define the DSN name here */
DSN = "BOL".
chCrystalRep = chCrystalApp:OpenReport(cStartDirectory + "BOL.rpt",1).
chCrystalTab = chCrystalRep:DATABASE:Tables(1).
chCrystalTab:ConnectionProperties:ITEM("DSN") = DSN.
chCrystalApp:LogOnServer("CRDB_ODBC.DLL",
DSN,
Error:

• How to split big xml-messages with file inbound adapter

Hello,
we have big xml-messages in our filesystem, which are processed by XI 3.0 (SP11). We are using the file inbound adapter. Now we want to split these big xml-message into some smaller messages.
Exist there a corresponding function to the "xml.recordsetsPerMessage" which is working with xml-files?
Thanks!

maybe you can split the message in the BPM

• How to Post XML Messages with SOAP Headers to a Trading Partner URL

Hi All,
Greeting to the Oracle B2B Community. We are currently working on how to post a Custom XML Message with SOAP Headers to a Trading Partner URL. I would really appreciate if anybody could provide me some inputs or links to some documentation on how to achieve the above requirement. The details are below:
1. Our Internal Application generates a Flat File (PO Extract).
2. The Extract then needs to be transformed to an XML Message. We are planning to use BPEL to do the transformation to XML Message.
3. Once it is transformed to an XML message it needs to be posted to the Trading Partner URL as an HTTP Post and with SOAP Headers.
We are planning to use B2B to do the posting but I am not sure on how to do the set-ups and what all parameter files in B2B needs to be updated in order to achieve the same. Also it is mandatory that we send SOAP Headers in the XML Message.
Thanks In Advance for your help.
Regards,
Dibya

Hello Dibya,
As you are already doing the transformation from Flat file to XML in BPEL which is typically the capability of B2B, please use the Soap binding in BPEL to send the document to Trading partner.

Any useful thoughts is welcome.

Which version are you using? I also had problems with XML as the payload with 9i Rel. 1. I upgraded to Rel. 2 and it works o.k.

To use servlets u have indeed to update your web.xml...Well I'm not sure this is relevant to your case anyway.
You have to add a <servlet> element to this file.
Something like this:
<servlet>
<servlet-name>blabla</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>blablapackage.Blablaclass</servlet-class>
<init-param>...</init-param>
</servlet>
Now this may not solve your problem. Make sure you refer to your servlets using their full qualified names.btw, just to be sure, what is your definition of "servlet"? (i mean: any java class or only javax.servlet.Servlet)

• Failed to Load database information - Crystal report with XML as datasource

Hello Friends:
I am getting the attached error when i try to load the Crystal Report with XML as data source.
I have designed the crystal report with the sample XML provided with XSD schema (PFA I have attached the XML and XSD). It is working as expected on design time. But it is failing when I load it from C# code.
Note: I have referred the following DLLs of version 13.0.2000.0 in my sample application.
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Design.dll
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll
Please let me know what should be done in order to resolve this.
Thank you!

All I know is that you are using 'SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET". No idea what service pack or what version of .NET...
So. make sure you are on SP 9:
SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio: Updates & Runtime Downloads
Search for KBA 1525432 (search box is in top right corner) and follow the instructions there.
Remove your reference to CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Design.dll
Add the following references:
CrystalDecisions.Shared
CrystalDecisions.ReportSource
CrystalDecisions.Web (if web app)
CrystalDecisions.Windows (if win app)
I'd also recommend commenting out the export code for now; one step at a time. Get it to work in the viewer, then move on... No Big Bangs

• Need to change XML message with 014 to a FINAL state

Experts,
I have the following QA system:
NW PI 7.11 sp6
I have found 23 ASYNC messages with status type 014 (SYSTEM ERROR, Manual Restart Possible). I want to change those to a FINAL state of 021 (cancelled manually).
I go to SXMB_MONI, and pull those messages up. If I highlight any of them, and click the "Cancel Processing of Messages with Errors" button, I get this type of error:
Message CF02E498B92011E0BF7700000050343A still scheduled in queue XBTO1___0002
Message no. XMS_ADM141
Message CF02E498B92011E0BF7700000050343A, which is to be canceled or started is still awaiting processing in the qRFC queue XBTO1___0002 and cannot therefore be canceled or restarted. Check in the qRFC monitor or XI monitor whether the message is still awaiting processing or whether it has already been processed.
Message already scheduled
OK...So I checked the queues from the error message, but there is nothing there. I'm sure of that.
So then I tried to execute report RSXMB_CANCEL_MESSAGES but it does not "find" them.
Any ideas? Many thanks,
NICK
Edited by: Nick Wells on Aug 4, 2011 9:18 PM

SAP support resolved the issue. I had to apply note:
Note 1547908 - XI Runtime: Message restart impossible after dump
also had to create the zreport attached to the note, and run that report one time. Then I was able to cancel the ASYNC messages.

• SSRS Designer - XML Datasource - Parameter passing XML gets encoded, causes error on WS Request

Hello,
I am attempting to query a List from SharePoint using the XML Datasource. I am forced to use this datasource as our infrastructure team will not be upgrading our SSRS 2008 farm to SSRS 2008 R2 anytime soon. 2008 R2 has Native SharePoint
List Datasources ( which works great FYI ). I already completed the report using the Native SP List DS, only to find out that my timing was not so great as 2008 R2 was not in production yet... /sigh, communication... anyways...
I have successfully queried the List using the XML Datasource. It is only when I try to use the CAML query in the query parameter that it fails. So, here is my Query:
<Query>
<SoapAction>http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/GetListItems</SoapAction>
<Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/" Name="GetListItems">
<Parameters>
<Parameter Name="listName">
<DefaultValue>{DD3DE881-1F9D-4016-AD73-F7E1D9340880}</DefaultValue>
</Parameter>
<Parameter Name="query">
<DefaultValue>
<Query>
<Where>
<Gt>
<FieldRef Name="Modified" />
<Value Type="DateTime">2011-03-01</Value>
</Gt>
</Where>
</Query>
</DefaultValue>
</Parameter>
</Parameters>
</Method>
<ElementPath IgnoreNamespaces="True">*</ElementPath>
</Query>
I will be replacing that hard date with something like =DateAdd("d",-7,Now()) later, but focusing on the task at hand...
Here is the error ( trimmed so you don't need to read the whole stack ):
<soap:Body>
<soap:Fault>
<faultcode>soap:Server</faultcode>
<faultstring>Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.</faultstring>
<detail>
<errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">Element <Query> of parameter query is missing or invalid.</errorstring>
<errorcode xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">0x82000000</errorcode>
</detail>
</soap:Fault>
</soap:Body>
The key to that error is: Element <Query> of parameter query is missing or invalid.
So I see that it is being encoded, so I decided to capture the actual Webservice request with Fiddler:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<soap:Body>
<GetListItems xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">
<query>
<Query>
<Where>
<Gt>
<FieldRef Name="Modified" />
<Value Type="DateTime">2011-03-01</Value>
</Gt>
</Where>
</Query>
</query>
<listName>{DD3DE881-1F9D-4016-AD73-F7E1D9340880}</listName>
</GetListItems>
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>
So now that we know that somehow the XML parameter of "query" is being encoded. How do I tell the SSRS designer that for this XML datasource's dataset query, I do not wish to encode that parameter? I have searched all day today and came up with
very little. I found a few posts with a simliar question, but no solution was ever mentioned.
The closest to a likely solution was this Post :
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/8a9ba2fc-26cd-423e-bbbf-a16b5c9722f5/
in particular this phrase interested me:
"Query parameters of type Msxml2.DOMDocument30 are passed as XML. Parameters of type String which happen to contain XML are passed as strings and are XML encoded in the SOAP message. The function CXml(String) converts a string
into an Msxml2.DOMDocument30 and can be used in query parameter expressions."
Similar to the poster of that question, I also cannot find a way to define the parameter as an XML type or the use of this mysterious CXML() function in the expression builder...
I'm looking for a Microsoft resource to tell me whats going on here, but if anyone else has a workaround or an idea, I would be happy to try it out.
Regards,
-Ryan, Solution Architect

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your question, from your statement, it seems that you want to give a default value for the parameter named query, right? If so I would recommend you achieve this requirement in report level, please follow these:
1. Create a parameter named Date, select Date/Time as data type.
2. Move to Default values tab, then click Add button ->type in =DateAdd("d",-7,Now()) as defult value's expression.
3. Right-cilck the dataset, and then select DataSet properties.
4. Move to Filters tab, click add button to add a filter.
5. In the drop-down list of Expression, select Modified datefield with Date/Time datatype.
6. Type in =Parameters!Date.Value in value's textbox.
