Logout from an "https client authentication (public key certificate)"
Hi ,
I am using an https client authentication (public key certificate) to login to my ADF faces website
How can I logout form the application? It seems the session.invalidate() is not working because my login information is still displayed after running the logout method (below)
Note that this logout method was working well with the Form-Based Authentication.
Thank you
Jamil
public String logout() {
ExternalContext ectx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext();
HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest)ectx.getRequest();
HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse)ectx.getResponse();
HttpSession session = (HttpSession)ectx.getSession(false);
session.invalidate();
String temp = request.getContextPath() + "/adfAuthentication?logout=true&end_url=/faces/logout";
try {
ectx.redirect(temp);
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().responseComplete();
} catch (Exception ex) {
System.out.println("Exception in logout()");
return null;
}
Can you try with the null chk.. as this piece of code is working fine for us
public void logout(ActionEvent evt) {> FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
> HttpSession session =
> (HttpSession)fc.getExternalContext().getSession(false);
> HttpServletRequest request =
> (HttpServletRequest)fc.getExternalContext().getRequest();
> HttpServletResponse response =
> (HttpServletResponse)fc.getExternalContext().getResponse();
> try {
> if (session != null) {
> session.invalidate();
> }
> fc.getExternalContext().redirect(request.getContextPath() +

> } catch (Exception exp) {

Importing public key certificate from external application
Hello!
I am trying to implement the following scenario:
1. External client application sends it's public key certificate to SAP WAS
2. SAP imports this certificate into its PSE
3. External client application sends digitally signed messages to SAP (with <i>secKey</i> HTTP call parameter)
4. SAP checks this signature and does whatever further action.
For simplicity reason, I emulated this "external app" by using the ArchiveLink interface of the very same SAP system. So, I have one system which is at the same time client and server, but the communication works via HTTP.
I started with step 1: The ArchiveLink (in my case "external app") uses the function SCMS_HTTP_PUT_CERT to send the public key certificate to the client via HTTP. It worked well - I received the message with HTTP service and it contained some binary content as expected (valid public key certificate - I suppose).
Unfortunately, I was unsuccessfull with step 2: How to import the received certificate into my PSE?
I debugged the STRUST transaction and saw that it uses the function SSFP_PUTCERTIFICATE to import public key certificate into SAP's own PSE. However, when I try to use it, I get error <i>No temporary PSE available</i>. I also tried to <i>encode-base64</i> this message with the same result. What does this mean?
Does anyone has experience with this? Please share it.
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
IgorThe key point was understanding the cleverly named parameter PROFILE in the function SSFC_PUT_CERTIFICATE. You'd never guess: it's a path to a PSE where you want to put the certificate, in my case: C:\usr\sap\NSP\DVEBMGS00\sec\SAPSYS.pse. There's one more step: updating database with the file system PSE.
So, the test sequence that works is:
1. SSFP_GETSAPCERTIFICATE
2. SSFC_PUT_CERTIFICATE
3. SSFPSE_STORE
Regards,
Igor
P.S. Am I the only one playing with these things? I keep getting 0 replies to my questions. -
Problems with HTTP Client Authentication in jdev 10.1.2.17.84.
Hi,
I've told HTTP Client Authentication doesn't work in jdev 10.1.2.17.84. I need users to be authenticated using a certificate so I'm trying several workarounds but none seems to be valid. Any help?
Thanks.
Luis Serrano.been there done that.. ive decompiled the oc4j code, debuged down to the core... its big waste of my time... :(
my advice to you is to leave it.. if you do not plan to use oracle ldap sso or xml provider you can do nothing... your hands are tied... they hardcoded everything and if you want more than classic "username & password" custom login module you will have to change oc4j...
there is no point to make a custom loginmodule which utilize a client certificate because oracle JAZN do not suport that type of login module!
just implement a login filter and manage authentication and authorization yourself... just like steve muench did in his java store demo - he didnt use JAZN... :)
anyway current approach do not allow you to leverage JAAS in ADF model layer so why bother to have that in the view/controller layer anyway...
and if i understood correctly oracle plans big changes in this area in the next jdeveloper release, and they alredy said that custom login modules would be depreciated in the next releases... -
Hello!
I have a question which I asked on ESA and Security forums and didn't get answer.
I am trying to do a test program to check ArchiveLink security features. Namely, I am calling the function SCMS_HTTP_PUT_CERT which is supposed to send a public key certificate via HTTP. However, when I catch this call and want to import the certificate by using the function SSFC_PUT_CERTIFICATE, I get error message <i>SSF kernel error: invalid parameter</i>.
Does anyone have experience with this?
For more detailed description of my attempt, please see ArchiveLink security: sending public key certificate.
Thanks and regards,
IgorHi
SCMS_HTTP_PUT_CERT is used to send sap public key to Content server application. The content server application makes use of this key to verify the incoming request ie the Content Server uses the public key to check URIs and signatures.
SAP uses the Public/Private key security concept while communicating with Content server. Basically when SAP communicates with Content server it will be sending GET, PUT, POST requests. The URL from SAP will have field called secKey which contains the security key. secKey ensures that a URL cannot be changed after it has been generated by the SAP system. The private key is used by SAP to generate the secKey.
The content server application will use the public key provided via SCMS_HTTP_PUT_CERT to check the URL and will be able to detect if the URL has been tampered.
Refer SAP Content Server HTTP 4.5 Interface documentation section Security for more details.

Renewing public key certificate used for Seeburger AS2
My general question is when a public key certificate, used for Seeburger AS2 payload decryption and digital signatures, needs to be renewed, how carefully do the certificate renewal steps need to be coordinated for a seamless transition? More specifically...
1. Once we import the CSR response from the CA, will the public key currently used by our partner become invalid, or will it continue to work until its expiration date?
2. Will our partner be able to validate our signature after the new CSR has been imported, but prior to them applying the new public key certificate in their system?
3. Or can we renew the certificate, import the CSR request, provide our partner with the renewed certificate, and let them apply the certificate at their own volition, provided they do it prior to the original certificate expiration?Hi Kurt
In my experience, the renewal/replacement of AS2 certificates for encryption/decryption & signing/authentication requires coordinated effort on both sides.
This is because AS2 uses asymmetrical encryption, so both parties need to use the same pair of certificates at the same time, i.e. you encrypt on your private key, and partner decrypt on the public key matching your private key. If the keys used do not belong to the same pair, then decryption will not work.
I'm not sure what AS2 software your partner uses and if it has the feature of automatic rollover of certificate, but PI/Seeburger does not. The approach in PI/Seeburger can either be one of the following:-
i) import new cert replacing original cert of the same name
ii) import new cert into new name, manually update sender/receiver agreements
Due to the manual nature of the tasks, normally it requires coordinated effort during a cutover window.

Solaris 9 LDAP client sun_ssh public key authentication
I have directory server 6.0 up on solaris 9 system and I have a couple of solaris 9 system migrated to LDAP client. I need to configure ssh public key authentication on two Solaris 9 LDAP clients. However, I seem can't make it working. I have done 1) generate rsa public/private key pairs on one host 2) cat public key to the authorized_keys file on another host. I checked the permission on $HOME and $HOME/.ssh, they both set to 700. The file permission are also correct. But I still get prompt when ssh from one LDAP client to another. If I add my password/shadow entry back to local files, then public key authentication works. My /etc/pam.conf is set up according to the Sun documentation for LDAP client. In /etc/nsswitch.conf
passwd: compat
passwd_compat: ldap
shadow: files ldap
group: files ldap
netgroup: ldap
loginShell does exist for the user.and LDAP entry has objectClasses 'posixAccount' and 'shadowAccount'
I have latest patch 112960 installed on all of LDAP clients.
What am I missing here?
Thanks,
--xinhuanOne more thing - I have latest patch 112960 installed on all of LDAP clients.

i'm posting the data using HttpsURLConnection to IIS 5.0 web server. The code is working fine for server authentication. Now i want to enable the client authentication option in IIS. How do i send the client certificate from the Java program to the IIS web server
There are 2 things you need to do:
1. Turn on "Require client certificate" on IIS.
2. Either use HttpsURLConnection or if you're using SSLSocket, you have to send at least 2 lines
GET / HTTP/1.1
Host: iis-server
The Host HTTP header line is key.
Without that line, IIS won't send CertificateRequest during SSL handshake.
With that line, IIS force the client to connect again, on the second handshake, IIS send the CertificateRequest command correctly! -

The client cert based authentication is working when using IE v8 and IE v9 with the same JRE version (JRE version 1.7.0_25-b16 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM)
Any help to resolve this issue will be very much appreciated.Thank you for your response.
Yes we have added the client certificate file (.pfx) in the Firefox browser Certificate manager / Store. It's also showing the certificate in the View Certificate window. We could not resolve it yet. -

HTTPS Client not sending the certificate chain
Hi,
I have HTTPS java programme with client authendication.
When the server request for the certificate from the client, the client is not sending the certificate chain, the server says Thread-1, handling exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: null cert chain
In the client I an setting the keystore properties properly
Below is the ssl trace from the server and the client.
The trace clearly says that the client has loded its certificate from the key store.
One thing I noticed is the validity period of the client certificate is different in client and the server.
I am not sure why it is different. I followed the steps properly to create the certificate.
Can anyone help me to resolve this

Https call from SAP SOAP client tool
Hi,
in order to call a webservice via https using the SAP SOAP client tool, I've done the following:
1. The Client cert field filled with my personal certificate from IE (pcert.pfx)
2. The Trust store field left as it was (cacerts file of the jre).
When calling the service I am getting
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate found
Very likely this is caused by setting 2.
Could anybody advise how to get an X.509 certificate of trusted root CAs? Any chance to export from IE or would one have to get that from a CA? File types required are ppfx or p12, which is strange since these contain private keys.
Much appreciated.
Rene FunkeHi Rene,
You need to include the full certificate chain in the p12 file. i.e. private cert and root CA cert. IE will not export the full certificate path with the private certificate unless it was imported into IE with this flag set. You could use Firefox to generate the pks12 file. It will include the full certificate path.
This private certificate (p12 file) should then be added to the truststore in XI.
Also, .p12 (pkcs#12) file format defines a file format commonly used to store private keys with accompanying public key certificates - not just private keys.
Hope this helps.

Enabling HTTPS with Client Authentication for Sender SOAP Adapter on PI7.1
Hello All,
We are currently building up a HTTPS message exchange with an external client.
Our PI 7.1 recieved over HTTPS messages on an already configured Sender SOAP Adapter.
The HTTPS (SSL) connectivity works fine and was completely configured on the ABAP Stack at Trust Manager (TC=STRUSTSSO2)
Login to Message Servlet "com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.web.MessageServlet is required and works fine with user ID and password.
Now we have to configure the addtional Client Authentication.
At SOAP Adapter (Sender Communication Channel) under "HTTP Security Level"you are able to configure "HTTPS with Client Authentication".
But what are the next steps to get this scenario successfully in place?
Many thanks in advance!
JochenHi Colleagues,
following Steps still have to be done:
- Mapping public key to technical user at Java Stack
As preparation you have to activate value "ume.logon.allow.cert" with true under "com.sap.security.core.ume.service" under Config Tool. At NWA under Identity Management at for repecively technical user the public key certificate
- Be sure CA root certivicate at Database under STRUSTSSO2
- Import intermediate Certificate under Certificate List at Trast Manager for the Respecive Server Note
- use Login Module "client_cert" which you have to configure under NWA\Configuration Management\Authentication for Components "sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.app*XISOAPAdapter".
Many thanks to all for support!

Configuration of Public Key Authentication Policy for SFTP on OAG 11.1.2.2
Hi
I'm working on the configuration of an SFTP server over OAG, using both password and public key authentication.
This particular listener need 3 policies:
- Password Authentication
- Public Key Authentication
- File upload
Both File upload and password auth are working OK, but I've been having a hard time with the PK policy. This policy uses the attribute ${authentication.subject.public.key} to store the PK info, which I confirmed is being sent to the gateway (as modulus + public exponent), however I can not find a way to verify the key received with the ones on the Key Pairs store.
OAG Version is 11.1.2.2
Any comments?Hi a82383ca-36ac-49d5-aa6e-c3307f7e56e1,
It would probably help if you place this question under the community for product you have questions about. I will see if I can help you move it to the proper one by asking around.
Best regards,

I am working on a project which uses client authentiaction. So far I have successfully made a certificate signing request from the browser. I get the request in my servlet. Now I need to issue the certificate from the server using the public key that I got from the browser and somehow sign it. Does any one has any idea and code to help out.
RgdsMight it be that that you have to install an appropriate personal
certificate into your browser that you can then use to identify yourself?
It is the browser that is popping up the View Certificates option, right?
