Long text in Table UI Element Column not wrapping

Hi Guys,
I'm using a Table UI element that displays some text fields. One of these fields are quite long - 255 chars. I need this text field to wrap if it contains such long data without altering the default layout of the Tale. I cant get this to work. It either extends the column to display all 255 characters (which makes the table FAR too long), or it cuts off the text and I cant see the rest of it.
I have ticked the "wrapping" property of the Textview Text Editor but this doesn't work. I have also played around with otherproperties but cannot do the desired combination.
Please advise,

Go this resolved. I have the following settings:
1. Table property "fixedTableLayout" is un-ticked
2. Cell Editor type TextView property "wrapping" is ticked.

Use the FM for text delete when u press save button and not at table control delete command.
physically delete the line from table control and put it in internal table which can be used for deletion purpose at time of actual deletion...

Cost Element column not appearing in IW31/ IW32 transaction

Hi,
In transaction IW32, in Operations Tab --> click on External Button (below shown on IW32 screen).
Now under External, click on Services tab (1st option), here Cost Estimate column not appearing.
We tried to add through configuration option on this window. (there shows table setting --> click on administrator, now you can see Edit system settings, here Cost Element - ESLL-KSTAR shown with TICK on Invisible checkbox).
How can i Untick that. I tried but after activate, it again appears.

Hi,
Where a cost element exists on the operation External TAB, input of the same data on the service line is not allowed. In that case the system decides that this data field should not be available on the service lines. Where the is no cost element on operation then entry is allowed on service line.
This program logic is overwriting the field configuration on the table setting for service entry grid. This is why the invisable flag cannot be changed.

Long Column Not Wrapping

I have a report column with long text. The column is longer than the 200px width that I set in the Column Formatting section of the Column Attributes page. How do I force the column to wrap text? I am using APEX 2.1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can also modify the CSS of the theme you are using. For example, in the theme12.css, I changed it as follows to allow text wrapping in report columns. Its the white-space: nowrap css directive that causes the problem.

Long text in table control

Hi SDN, Rich Please respond ..! ITS VERY URGENT
i need a longtext in one of the table contol of my customised screen. the purpose of the screen is to create RFQ's where in user can enter LT ( just like the transaction IW32 - > Operations Tab - > LT Column. actually the LT in that table control is a button, pressing on which will take the user to an editor like SAP Script editor )
how do i save this into my customised tables so taht i display the LT in the display screen for RFQ's
This same LT created in RFQ Creation screen should be displayed to the users in another customised screens of RFQ Display / Change where the same functionality is needed.
Please help me in achieving this, i have been struggling from past few days, and this is very urgent.
i have been tryin the same with the fm's edit_text and read_text, but am not clear on these fm's related to HEADER in the importing parameters of the fm.
is this wrong? or is there any other way to achieve my requirement?

Multiline table container element does not display the contents

Hi Guys,
I am sending an email from the workflow. The workflow has few steps and in one of the steps the the workflow brings in few lines of text. This text is then stored in a multiline container element in the workflow.
later in the workflow i am sending an email and this sendmail step is using the multiline containter. So in the body of the email i have used the container as shown below
Your expense for the trip &TRIPEXP.TRIPNUMBER& has been rejected.
The Reason for rejection(s) mentioned below:
&CATSXT_LONGTEXT_ITAB##&
Please change and submit again.
However when i recieve the email i dont see any text. But when i look at the workflow log and check the contents of this table under the workflow container elements it has the data in it.
Not sure where i am going wrong. I have checked the bindings and they are fine.

Yes that was the missing link.
One question:
When i use sendmail step and use the variable drop down box i can see the workflow container elements. So why do i need the same container element in the sendmail setp? I just now created same element in the sendmail task. When i am able to access the workflow container elements in the send mail step then why there is a need to create a same container element in the send mail step and then do the binding for it to work?

How to center title text and table across two columns

Hello,
I want to be able to center a table and its title across a two column page. The pages where I want to do this contain text in both columns or text in the left column and graphics in the right. On the same pages as the text and graphics, I'd like to center, across both columns, a table with a title. What is the best way to do this?
If I insert the table in the left column, I can size it to fit over both columns but I can't type directly into the cells that cover the right column (I can type in the cells covering the right column if I Tab to them but it's tedious and doesn't seem right). With the table's title, I've tried using the Across All Columns paragraph setting, but the text stays in the column the paragraph marker is in.
We are using Frame 8 on Windows XP Professional. The Master pages are Right and Left pages that are set up with two columns, both tagged as A with the Autoconnect feature on so that the text flows from the bottom of the left column to the top of the right.

Yes, equal-sized columns. No, they're always equal. And that answers
David's question: you're using two frames because you want unequal columns.
Frame's paragraph-level column controls only work on columns made by
dividing a single frame into two or more columns. So you're back to
square one: you need two frames because your columns are unequal; you
need one frame so you can span columns.
Another possibility is that you might set up your document with a
sidehead column, but I hesitate to recommend this because I still can't
quite envision what your layout looks like. Any chance you can post a
PDF somewhere?

VC 7.2 personalize table settings - hide columns not working

I have table setting property activated in CE 7.2 VC UI , when I hide the columns, i am able to hide for that session, if I logout and login, I am not able to see the settings, all the columns are visible.
Are these settings are per session ? it is not like personalization where the user can save the settings for his login?

In order to work with the personalization saving, you need to Enabling CCM Personalization of Table Views at Runtime

How to show the content of a table (long text) in a scrollable textbox?

I have to say first, many thanks to the ones who answers to threads in this forum, it's very helpfull when we're learning web dynpro!
I have a RFC function that return a table containing a long text (node "it_text", with elements "Tdformat" and "Tdline").
1) I want first to copy all the Tdlines in a new node "text_box" (that I made specially for the screen, it contains only the element "Tdline" [the text itself]);
2) Then I want to show the content of the node "text_box" in a scrollable textbox on the screen (to show 8 lines of text, for example).
How to do that easily? What is the UI Element needed to show that?

If you want to display as it is then you can use Table UI element. You can change the design property to 'transparent' and set column header visibility property to none. Then you need not to write any code simple you can map the node to table field.
Even with TextEdit you can achieve what you want. Try this code...

How to send long text in a mail using FM : SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1

In my BSp application user can enter long text ( can be more than 300 char ) in TextEdit.
problem is as below:
1) i am getting all the text in oninput processing ...
2) using the FM READ_TEXT to get mail template built in SO10.
3) Replacing all dynamic variables in mail template with user enterd text.
4) then passing the data to FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1. this FM has table parameter with 255 char ( please check once )
i am able to send the data in mail. But long text more than 256 char is not comming as single paragraph.
For expamle ...user enter the following text in text edit.

Please use the object_type parameter of tthe FM as 'HTM'.
Then divide the text by append them into the lines of the object_content. In the begining and end make sure you have

Reading Infotype 0028 Long Text

Hi Experts,
I have a BADI Implementation which is dealing with Infotype 0028 (Internal Medicine Service).
My problem is that, at the time my badi implementation is triggered, long text is not yet saved to cluster table PCL1. For this reason, my statement "IMPORT ptext FROM DATABASE pcl1(tx) ID lwa_key" wasn't able to retrieve the long text of infotype 0028. I thought that if I would be able read from the buffer/memory of long text, I can get the long text value even if it is not yet saved in the cluster table.
Is there a way that I could read the memory/buffer of long text?
If you know other approach on how to solve this problem, kindly advice me.

Well, when i give it a little thought here it goes
1. Is there no parameter in BADI which is storing this long text?
2.If not then one of the way is by use of field symbol ,first you need to find it out in which
variable the long text is stored and then you need to assign the memory of the variable
to your field symbol memory
The above two are just some simple feasible ideas which can be worked on

Hello,
the way to find it out is that you set a breakpoint into the function module READ_TEXT ( via SE37) and then process a PSP-Element with a long text via CJ12 or CJ13.
The transaction will stop at the breakpoint, an you get the text-id/text-name/ text-object from the input parameters on the function module.
If i try, it says ID = 'LTXT', name = 'E'<PRPS-PSPNR>, object = 'PMS', but for a WBS text there may be other parameters.
If you need the logic in an own programm, you could use the function READ_TEXT instead of selecting texts via STXH/STXL.
