Looking for Workflow steps

Hi,
I am very new to workflow and I need to develop a workflow for the following scenario.
1) User changes Delivery date in PO for single or multiple items then send an Email to a user upon save.
2) I also want to delay email notification till end of the day.
I will appreciate if any one provides me the steps.
Regards
Nilesh

I think if you are changing the Delivery date you can track this as the Change Event of BO BUS2012 gets triggered. You can track what type of change by coding in a virtual attribute of your Custom BO which is delegated to standard BO. In the attribute you should code that filter the changes are relevant(Delivery date change) for workflow or not. If the changes are relevant the Flag will be set. In the start condition(SWB_COND) of Wflow you should make use of this Flag for triggering.
Regarding sending mail at end of day this can be done using Requested start Tab of step in Workflow Builder.
Thanks

  • Looking for a 'step filter' plugin...

Essentially I'm looking for a step based filter plugin that works in a similar way to Delay Designer, whereby you can define the cutoff/resonance/pan etc within a grid, thus giving complete control over where, when and for how long parts are filtered.
This would be a pretty cool plug I think and I've looked before but not found anything. I like the simplicity of Delay Designer too so I don't want to get lost in features I don't need. Does anyone know of such a thing? I have Reaktor if anyone knows any user files, but I always find it a bit complex and painful. Otherwise I'm prepared to pay for something if it's decent.
    Cheers

This has a 128 step sequencer for filtering and panning:
    http://www.camelaudio.com/camelspace.php
Also the Ensemble "Vierring" in your Reaktor factory Library has fantastic filtering features as each of the 4 filter bands can be linked to it's own step sequencer plus many FX options.

  • Looking for Workflow Service URL in RAR Configuration

We are configuring RAR and are at Workflow step.
    Workflow contains four sections:
    1. Risk maintenance
    2. Mitigation Control Maitenance
    3. Mitigation
    4. Workflow Service URL.
We are stuck at the fourth step, Workflow Service URL (This Web service URL is used to submit workflow requests to Compliant User Provisioning) and are not able to trace the URL in configuration guide.
Can anyone help me in providing the link for the URL

    Hi,
It's correct that the WS is the same for both 5.2 and 5.3.
You can get the URL by opening http://host:port/wsnavigator.
Expand AEWFRequestSubmissionService_5_2 and click on document.

  • Does anyone here make movie trailers?  Looking for workflow advice.

I'm pretty new to editing and i've mostly done montage/tribute videos on youtube.  My process is slow and laborious. I'll scout a bunch of clips in genre or subject of the montage and then go through a fairly long trial and error process trying to put it together like a puzzle.
I'd like to get better as an editor and i'm interested in making story driven trailers.  I can't really find any resources online to teach workflow for something like this.  I'm wondering how much is planned in the minds eye based of the editor and how much is just trial and error pulling clips and trying to arrange them in some semblence of order.  I understand most trailers have several key moments of exposition to clue the audience in a little bit about the plot.  And then a bunch of enticing visual shots to make you curious to see the film.
I'm wondering if there is an effecient way to plan out a trailer and pull clips to use without having to go through a long random trial and error process of what looks good next to each other.  Pretty much any tips on the process of making a trailer would be helpful.  I know theres a million different ways to approach it and creativity is key. Do some people just have what it takes creatively or can it learned?
In general I plan to use a few songs from the subject movie and the tone of the song will reflect the tone of the clips and i'll try and highlight a few emotional dimensions of the film with a few different songs.

Its a big question so here is my way of answering..graphically.
(everything has "structure"...films, books, plays, songs...life)

  • Looking for a Step by Step to place Aperture Library on External

Can anyone direct me to step by step directions on how to export my Aperture library to an external hard drive?
I've seen rambling threads that touch on it of course but they refer to "Managed' or 'Referenced' and other terms that I am not sure how to check if my library are those.
I am on a iMac with only a 500 gig drive and my Aperture library is 100 Gigs of that drive!   I'd like to place it on an external for obvious reasons.  Crazy that Apple doesn't make this a WHOLE lot easier.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Aperture is an extremely capable and powerful program.  It is not for beginners or for those who are not interested in learning how to use it.  Just my humble opinion.
It is important that you understand the difference between Managed Masters and Referenced Masters.  Of course, you must know what a Master is.
It is easy to tell which of which you have in your Library.  Aperture uses Badges to inform you.  (Badges are shown in the Metadata Overlays, as well as on the Metadata tab of the Inspector.  There are seven Metadata Overlays: you should customize each of them to meet your needs.)
You can also filter Photos view using the Rule "File Status".  The selections there are straightforward.
100 GB is a moderately large Library.  The recommended method of lessening the storage burden a large Library places on your system drive is to convert some or all of your Images' Masters from Managed to Referenced.  Aperture makes this easy to do.
It is possible to run an Aperture Library from an external drive.  The faster the drive the better.  I have done this over FW400 with 5200 rpm drives, but the minimum I would recommend is FW800 with a 7200 rpm drive with a sizable cache.
Putting the Library on an external drive is less desirable than putting just some or all of that Library's Images' Masters on an external drive and leaving the Library on your system drive.
Moving the Library is simple and, in point of fact, couldn't be easier.  (You don't want to export your Library; you want to move it.)  With Aperture closed, select the Library in Finder (the extension is "aplibrary").  Move it where you want it to be.  Double-click it to launch Aperture and load the Library from its new location.  Now every time you launch Aperture, it will load that Library (as long as it is on-line).
The User Manual is here.  It is an excellent resource.  I have highlighted in orange above some of the terms you will need to know.  I strongly suggest looking each of them up in the Manual (note the Glossary at the end of the Manual), and reading the first seven chapters which introduce the program and provide a worthy map for your self-teaching.

  • Looking for the steps to configure remote access to HD connected to airport Extreme via Surfboard modem

I found an article that seemed a little dated outlining steps on how to access files on my exteral hard drive that is connected to my airport extreme.  I have enabled personal file sharing, specified the ports and put in the internal IP address. To test, I am connecting to VPN on my ipad, firing up a browser and trying to navigate to the external IP address and port number specified (xxx.xx.xxx.xx:xxxx)  I keep getting a page cannot be displayed error. Any suggestions?

Test from a real WAN connection.. not a loop around via vpn. as it is hard to know where the problem is.. is it the vpn or the port forwarding.
Also it is hard to test from ipad as the only effective protocol to use is AFP on 548 and ipad is not able to do it.
Read Tesserax info on remote access.

  • Looking for a reveal

    Looking for a step-by-step how-to:
I have a wide overhead shot of a brewery bottling line and detail shots of the steps in the bottling process. I'm trying to highlight those steps, with say, an spotlight of some sort that widens to reveal the detail shot.
I suspect there is a simple solution that can be done all in FCP, but I haven't put my finger on it. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Zak,
Occam's Razor?  How philosophical of you, and so early in the morning.
In a previous life I met Rene Descartes, the famous "I think therefore I am" philosopher.
Lo and behold I also attended his funeral.  It was a beautiful procession to the cemetery where the casket was on a wagon being pulled by a beautiful white stallion.
At one point going down a street the wagon became dislodged from the stallion and began rolling past the horse.
I whispered to my grieving friend at the time and said look they've put Descartes before the horse.

  • Best practice for workflow triggering from Web Dynpro UI

    Hello, workflow community!
I'm working on a task which allow to trigger the workflow by clicking a button in Web Dynpro UI. As always, there are multiple ways to do that, for instance, to use SAP Workflow API (SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW) or to raise an event upon the button click, which will be caught by workflow template.
In my opinion, the optimal solution is to call FM, which will call ABAP-class, raising an event, which, in turn, will be caught by workflow template. In this case, FM will service kind of wrapper, where we can implement some additional checks if needed.
But the question is what approach is the best practice — to raise an event or use SAP_WAPI_*?
    Thanks.

    let combine, use SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT
usually I would not recommend creating a workflow directly (SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW) since when I look for workflows in a system I usually start from SWE2 (the event linkage) which uses events so the workflow you start by SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW will not be seen there, also SWE2 gives you better control for starting the workflow, you can easily deactivate an event linkage. finding where you called the workflow by SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW will be more difficult and deactivation will require a code change.
so use events, and start them by SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT
Also pay attention that you have a check function module option in SWE2.

  • Migration Assistant stuck on "Looking for source..."

I just bought a new iMac today and I am trying to use Migration Assistant to move all my info on my Mac Pro to my new machine. The problem is that the Migration Assistant is getting stuck at the "Looking for source" step, trying to find my old Mac with no success.
Yes, I've searched for other posts about this issue and I've looked at a number of support.apple.com articles about this. The discussions closest to my problem all have some issue that isn't present for me. Here's a bit of information that may or may not be pertinent to what's going on:
One support article said that the source Mac had to be running at least OS X 10.6.8. My old mac is running 10.7.5.
Neither Mac is running with the firewall turned on.
I did not use Time Machine with my old Mac, and it is turned off on both Macs.
I have run Software Update on both Macs and everything is up-to-date.
I also tried setting up a wireless computer-to-computer connection. I created the network on my old Mac, and was able to connect just fine through Finder on my new iMac. Running Migration Assistant, however, I could not see my old Mac's network and, as for clicking on "Other Server" button in the Assistant, I can say I would know how to specify that network's address given the format afp://Server/ShareName/. For the sake of argument, let's say the network's name was "oldMac". I did try entering "oldMac" for "Other Server" and then "afp://oldMac" and neither of those worked.
One other thing. I do have an Apple TV. I don't see why this should interfere, but I am able to view and play my music and movies on my TV, so apparently the Apple TV can see the old Mac fine as well. And no, the Apple TV was not on while trying to migrate my data.
    TIA,
    bob

    Ok, more updates.
In my old Mac (Pro) I have several hard drives installed. I was able to create a Time Machine back-up to a non-system HD. I plan on removing this volume and putting it in an external enclosure as soon as I can find the right cables for that enclosure. Meanwhile....
I saw on one support doc an instruction to open Sharing on the source Mac (my old one, in this case) and make sure the machine had a name specified. I already had done that, but noticed that a specific name based on that was mentioned for other computers to contact it. For example, if my source machine is named "myOldMac", other computers could address is at "myOldMac.local".
I connected the two computers directly via an Ethernet cable and I ran Migration Assistant again. When I got to the "Looking for source" screen, I clicked the button for "Other Server" and entered "afp://myOldMac.local". This actually found my old Mac. I was prompted to enter the password for the account "root". I changed the name to my account's short name -- "raboyle" not "Robert Boyle" -- and entered the correct password and I actually got a list of volumes to access. In the list were: the hard drives (by volume name), the home folders of the user accounts, and the Public Folders for each user account.
I tried accessing both my boot volume and the home folder for my primary account, and proceeded to a screen with the following text: "Choose which backup to transfer information from:". The list provided, however, was empty. On the chance that it was looking specifically for a Time Machine backup, I then specifically chose the HD volume with the backup I had just created. Again, the list to choose where to grab my data from was empty.
So, at least I'm advancing a little bit beyond the "Looking for source" screen ... but then again, since I hit yet another roadblock I can't say whether I've taken one step forward or two steps back.

  • Looking for a new toy to help your editing workflow?  Try this!

I recently ditched my simple 2-button + scroll wheel mouse for a mouse on steroids: the Logitech G700.  What a difference!  It has 11 customizable functions that can be automatically activated depending on the program you're in!  So you can have a completely unique set of functions for Premiere, Photoshop, AE, Windows, etc, and each set will automatically/instantly be activated whenever that specific program/interface is the active one!
Here are my 2 layouts to give you some ideas:
    Premiere Pro Layout:
    Windows Layout:
You can even assign multi-step macros to keys.  For example, I set one of the keys to: Deselect clips + Add Default Video Transition.  So now, a single keypress will always apply my default video transition to the CTI, even if any clips were selected, just the way it worked in CS6 and I wanted it to keep working in CC!
If you're looking for a simple inexpensive way to improve your editing work, I highly recommend getting a programmable mouse like this one!  If anyone has any other hardware devices that help their workflow, please share so that we can all benefit from the knowledge.
    Cheers!

I am in the market for a new PC for my wife, and she will be inheriting the keyboard and mouse I am using now so I can get new ones. She picked these out to begin with since we were sharing a computer for a while so she will be happy with them.
That looks like a really great mouse. I may just have to take your advice on this one.
Although the newer version looks even cooler: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G700s-Rechargeable-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00BFOEY3Y/ref=dp_ob_tit le_ce
My wife would HATE that mouse, but since she will finally have her own again, I can get any mouse I want.
    Very cool. Thanks.

  • Looking for a Workflow-Checklist (plugin)

    Hello everybody,
I really like LR as my primary workflow-tool.
    What I'm actually looking for: a "workflow-checklist-plugin".
This plugin should be a plugin visible in the develop module of Lightroom.
It (the plugin) should show me a list of checkboxes (which I could define).
These Checkboxes contain the different steps of my LR-Workflow (to make shure that I don't forget one of them).
Also, the "TAG" Metadata of the photo should be edited within the plugins-windows (with this feature, there's no need to jump back to the library to add a TAG).
All data might be saved in the photos metadata.
To describe a bit more in detail what I mean, I generated a "sample picture"
Do you have any idea if there's somewhere such a workflow-plugin?
And: do you have any additional idea if it's possible to modify the TAG of a photo in the develop module (without jumbing back to the library)?
I should be glad about any suggestion as I just started a small project on freelancer and don't have a good feeling about the offers coming in ;-)
    Thanks for your help,
    regards,
    Marcel

    Hi everybody,
thanks a lot for your very helpful suggestions regarding the workflow.
Coming back to the plugin I'm looking for, here are four more examples to explain what I want to address with this "customizable checklist" in the devlop module of lightroom:
-identify all photos for batch processing in photoshop (HDR, stacking etc.) - one point on the checklist ("batch in PS") and a smart collection to filter all this photos would speed up this a little bit.
-identify all photos that needs a "batch" noice reduction. I.e. I have many photos for which I do the first noice reduction depending on camera model and ISO. With a checkmark at "batch noice reduction", these photos could be found easily in a smart collection (and would not be done twice).
-identify all photos accepted by "fineart gallery x". With a checkmark on the checklist and a smart collection showing all the photos with this checkmark, you could get a visual understandig of what (kind of) photos they've accepted (and what not).  This point probably is not a point for the development module only, of course, but for the library too. So, if the checklist could be shown in the library too, it woould be fantastic.
-identify all photos for which I transferred the copyright to somebody else (i.e. a client) or photos which I develop only once as an original (and which will never be pubished online).
Of course, all this could be done by using the "tag" field. Jumping back to the library, putting in some words in the tag (i.e. "PS-batch","HDR" etc.) would do this job too (that's how I do it today).
But a quick to "check/uncheck list" seems to be the faster way  (just my 2c).
And the plugin I'm looking for should only do one thing: speed up the work not done "with the camera at hand."
From my non-programmer-view, this plugin seemed to be not very complicated : extend the LR metadata and show a checklist to edit this metadata (nothing more ;-)
But I already learned that, within LR, this is not as easy as it seemed ;-)
As I initially wrote, I also posted a freelancer project for this programming and there are already applicants for this job but "I have to check if they really do have the competency needed" (I'm not very optimistic, that I'll find someone thru freelancer).
So, I'm still hoping that there is already a plugin doing this job or that it will be easy to develop this "show a list-plugin ;-)

    Marcel
