Lookout 5 cannot find computer - win xp sp2 problem?

I'm receiving this message when I try to connect to a machine in Lookout 5 object browser:
Lookout cannot find any resources on the specified computer. This computer may have become disconnected from the network.
The computer is not disconnected from the network, network connection is fine, ping and explorer browsing work fine. Object explorer lists the computer, but when I try to open it I receive the mentioned message.
The only thing that I noticed odd is that problematic machine runs xp sp2, and other does not (it runs sp1). When I try to connect with other machine that also has sp1, all works fine.
Anybody has a clue? Is this sp2 problem and is there a work around?

    I had the same problem, following is what I did to solve my problem, hope it helps. I posted this on another thread.
    Just got my ATV3 talking to iTunes again, I can see my library and the airplay is working again.
    Here is what I did, I'm using a Win 7 pro system, not sure about Mac's but the problem could be related.
    The culprit was Bonjour, I went to control panel>administrative tools>services>Bonjour service, from there I right clicked and selected properties. Selected startup type then disabled, click apply, then set it back to automatic, apply again. Not sure if this helped but I then selected stop and restart several times (located upper left). Rebooted, started Itunes and ATV, there it was all back to normal.

    I have had my iphone 3gs for over 3 months and now my iMessage is not working. under settings it says waiting for activation, and I am outside of the 90 day free support window. the tech told me to go to the support pages and I could find the answer no problem. I can't. I have had this problem ever since I updated to iOs 6.01. can anyone help me get my imessage working again. I need it so I can send messages over wifi since my phone is not activated right now to use over cellular networks.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755 shows the requirements for iMessage to work.  On an iPhone you do need an SMS plan for it to work.  It likely will never activate because you do not have it activated on a cellular plan.

  • Suddenly printer cannot find computer via WiFi or USB

    I have been able to scan and print to my printer from my MacBook for over a year now. Suddenly, I can no longer print or scan to it.  The printer also cannotfind the computer even when it is plugged in via USB. I did a restart on both printer and computer, this did not help. I did a reset to default settings on pronter and tried to reconnect. This did not help. I tried to look for any firmware updates but the computer does not see the printer even when plugeed n via USB so I am not able to find or download any updates.  How do I fix this?

    My iPhoto 11 program had started to put 'Events' at the top of the page and not at the bottom in the original sequence.
    You correct that using - sort events under the view menu
    My iPhoto 11 program does not have a 'Show Event Command'.

    I am getting the above error when i try to execute a BPEL process that does some DML operation on the database.
    I doubt whether this relates to the database.
    Please suggest.

    I'm having the exact same problem. I've upgraded AS and BPEL PM from 10.1.3.1 to 10.1.3.3 As I found out in another thread (Cannot find the specified instance the problem could be in not running the upgrade sql script, but I did that.
    When I initiate my process the number of Open Instances and closed instances remains 0. I've tried by deploying my process to default domain and a new domain I've created but it doesn't matter.
    The message in my domain.log file is this:

  • Desktop Manager 4.7 (Cannot find system in table file.)

    I just updated from Desktop Manager 4.2 to 4.7 on Windows Vista for my Blackberry 8800.  When I try to configure synchronization for Microsoft Outlook and click Finish I get the error message "Cannot find system in table file".  I've checked everywhere and I cannot find a solution for this problem.  Can anyone please help point me in the right direction?  Thanks in advance!

  • AP Utility cannot find AP Extreme, but AM connected and using it?!

    I've been searching the forums through and through, but I cannot find anything relating to my problem. All of my computers (MacBook, PC laptop and PC desktop) and video game consoles (360 & PS3) are able to connect to the router and send/receive data from the Internet just fine, but none of my computers are able to find the AirPort Extreme using AirPort Utility. Any reason why just days ago I was able to detect the router on all of my computers and am now suddenly unable to detect it? Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thank you!
    Note: I connected both laptops to the AirPort Extreme via Ethernet cable and was still unable to detect anything through the AirPort Utility. Strangely enough, though, I was still able to send and receive data through it.

    I have no solution for you, but I can confirm I have the same problem with my Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS) -- intermittently. If I wait around long enough, or if I reboot the router and the pc, then the router usually becomes to the Airport Utility again.
    For instance, at this very moment I can't see the AEBS from Airport Utility, although I am connected through that same AEBS.
    This didn't bother me until I got an Airport Express (AX) as well, for using AirTunes. Now, whenever the AEBS becomes invisible to the Airport Utility, the AX also becomes invisible to iTunes and my music stops.

    Found one article saying you can get this if previous version not fully removed, and to do a repair of the previous version, but as I said I uninstalled it and followed all steps for cleanup, so nothing to repair. 

    Here is the ERRORLOG file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log.  At the bottom I am seeing the error you said before was a SAN issue.  I had hoped that issue was only with
    SQL 2012, but it appears it is even with 2008?
    If that is still the issue, I'm trying to understand if by the articles, if the SAN conflict is an OS issue or an SQL issue?   In other words, is it because the OS is Server 2012?   Or would this still occur if I install SQL
    2008 on Server 2008 R2?    I don't know that they will be willing to upgrade the SAN, and I don't really want to fool with a .VHD (virtual disk) as a workaround speaks of.
    If you're asking if I did this from your article:  select startup account for Database Engine services as NT Authority\SYSTEM 
    , I don't recall what I did this last time.  I was doing that the last few days, but I think I didn't switch it to that once, just to see if I would have success.  I don't know if that was this last time or not when I switched it. 
    Is there anywhere I can check that after the fact?

    I downloaded icloud on three of my pcs and one ipad.
    I cannot find the program file on the PCs or an icon or anything to look at my settings.

    I'm afraid I do not quite understand what you are trying to accomplish. There is no "cloud player" application. You access your music in the cloud with iTunes on a computer and through the Music app on iOS devices. Please describe the problem you are having in more detail so we can help you.
    As to accessing "icloud" on mobile devices, iCloud is not the same as iTunes Match. Please tell us what model of iPod you have. At this time only OS X, iOS and Windows (Windows Vista SP2 and up) are supported.

  • VM created on Win 8.1 Pro Laptop cannot find win 7 iso file on USB

    VM cannot find USB to load Win 7       
    I have a Windows laptop with Win 8.1 Pro installed. I turned on Hyper-V and created a VM. Everything worked up to that point. I also downloaded the Win 7 iso and placed it on a USB thumb drive.  I also downloaded the Win 7 installer.
    When I "start" the VM, I get a black screen with a message the VM could not load an OS.
    It appears to me that the VM does not know where to look for the OS. I cannot find any way to tell it where to look.
    I spent over $300 for upgrades to Win 8.1 Pro and a licensed copy of Win 7 so I could run Win 7 on my laptop as I need it to run UPK (which is not compatible with Win 8).
    As a last resort I went to the Micrsoft store in Miami and offered to buy a Surface Pro 3 if they would install the VM and Win 7 on that for me. They said it was very easy to do and I would have no problems, etc., etc., etc. In other words they did not have
    a clue about what I was talking about.
    I hate to see over $3000 worth of hardware collecting dust on my closet shelf because I cannot use them. I am hopeful someone here can help a non-techie make this thing work.

    PS - Went to the Apple store last night and was shown a MacBook Air with Parallels installed. It was running Apple stuff on the Apple OS and MS Office 365 on Win 7. It was all very seamless so am leaning very much to going with Apple as a solution.

    You don't say that you attached the iso to the VM.  The easiest way to do
    that is to connect to the VM and then on the console, pull down the
    "Media" menu, Select "Insert Disk", then browse to the ISO and select it.
    Then under the "Action" menu, select "Reset".
    You can also mount an iso in the settings for the VM.

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on           
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable                                                       
    - Try on another computer                                                       
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes &amp; related installer files:

    Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
