Looping Dynamic form content for SQL Insert

I have a form that is created when a user selects the number
of rows that they need ultimately deciding on how many records they
will be inserting into an SQL database. After they fill out there
information in the form and submit it I have a page that has the
SQL query. I am attempting to loop the query the same number of
rows that there are in the table. However I cannot get the query to
run because of duplicate variables. For example in a simple form
submission if I had a form text field called "Name" it would insert
into the database as '#form.name#'. If the user selected 10 rows I
would need to insert each row as '#form.name1#', '#form.name2#',
etc. If my variable for the number of rows is "i" then my entire
variable for the loop would be '#form.name#i##' which does not
work. Hope it's not too confusing and any and all help would be
appreciated.

Broken Delete button in Dynamic Form. For the ADDT gurus!

I have a feeling i may be at Günter's mercy on this one. Hope you have time to look at this; of course for any and all, the same applies!
I have a dynamic list which i spent quite a lot of time with - rearranging elements within the ADDT generated KT_tng table. Just moving one recordset piece can take up to 30 seconds, so it takes QUITE a while with a lot of data to move.
Anyways, i seem to have "broken" the delete button in mine. I hope someone can help me fix it, i really dont have time to redo all the changes i did to the dynamic list layout. (i did test as i went to make sure i didnt break it, but guess i just missed a piece..) I changed mainly the location of things, and CSS.
I have an older version where the delete button works. I have compared but cannot find the answer. Both versions do everything else, live, with the database & their respective dynamic forms.
I have all 4 files live, and unprotected, for now, and txt versions of all four. If you need to test anything with the live pages, its ok, most of the data is dummy data.
Ive been saturated in ADDT dynamic lists, and dont have a background of hand coder, but am learning a lot, quick. so i have tried hard to understand this exact issue i created - im not looking for others to do my work. just my little disclaimer :)

Best Simple Dynamic Form Content Practice

I have an idea for a form which has simple content subforms that I'm trying to put togther and I'm hoping I can do this in ColdFusion but I'm not that good at it yet to know what the best practices are to getting this done.
I have a form with a general question followed by choices with radio buttons. I'm looking for added form content to be displayed when one or more radio buttons are selected. For example:
What service are you looking for?
() Hair
() Nails
() Shave
() Wax
Then if somone selected "Hair", under Hair more form content would be displayed. For example:
What service are you looking for?
() Hair
          What are you doing
               () getting ready for a wedding
               () going on a date
               Do you need a
               () cut
               () trim
               () Style
                    () Mohawk
                    () Mullet
() Nails
() Shave
() Wax
Sort of like that with the added content adding to the form. I'm collecting the data in a simple MS Access DB and working with CS4. My server runs the latest version of CF.
Sounds simple enough but I'm not sure how to go about it and/or what the best practices are. Any guideance?

Hmmm. Actually, maybe using radio buttons is not such a good idea since I want subforms to populate for each selection and there can be more than one, even all, selected so maybe checkboxes. But here's the catch. What you're suggesting is that the user hit the submit button to return the sub form and that's not what I'm looking for. I'm actually looking for the functionality that the form itself expands with a selection automatically. In other words, user checks box, then the form expands with additional questions for their selection. Then when the entire form is filled out as best it can, the user submits the data. THAT's more like what I'm looking for.

Form validation for sql submission

is there a way i can take the fields of my forms and replace any instance of ' with /' so that it can be submitted to my Postgres database successfully? i've come across a basic javascript function that replaced "a" with "z" and i tried modifing that, but it crashes my browser.
surely being a common requirement for form submission for database entry, there must be a function written somewhere that handles this
i know its not strickly java, but its something anyone that has developed in JSP, PHP or whatever must have come across

How to convert XML content into SQL INSERT statements

Hi all,
I'm very new to XML. Forgive me if I don't use technical XML terms. :-)
We are planning to convert SQL queries into XML format using a third party tool.
After that we have to read the XML files and use the tokens to insert into custom tables.
So, basically we have to create INSERT statements using the data stored in the XML file.
How do we go about reading / parsing the XML file in Java?

So, using the output file, the list of columns (under token "field") last_name,job_id and salary should be inserted into LIST_COLUMNS table. So 3 INSERT statements should be created for 3 columns.
The list of tables (under token "table") employees and dept should be inserted into LIST_TABLES table. So 2 INSERT statements should be created for the 2 tables.

Saving dynamic forms in Acrobat Reader

How do you create PDF dynamic forms and save them so that they can be completed and saved in Acrobat Reader.

Thank you very much for your help. As I said this was my first attempt with Livecyle. I had sold the concept of dynamic forms to a collegue and promised to do a dynamic form one for him before going on a winter holiday. Completed the form in a hurry only to find I could not enable users with Acrobat Reader. My worry was that I would not be able to save dynamic forms without additional software, but your helpful comments confirm its something I have done that is causing my issue.
I think Livecycle is a great product, but fragmented information is available for individual users. Bought the Book PDF Forms Using LifeCycle Designer (Acrobat 9) and joined PDFscripting web service which are both good in there own way. I get confused with Adobe's help, not being IT techie and the difference of Enterprise Editions of LifeCycle on how to get the best out of LiveCycle.

PL/SQL forall operator speeds 30x faster for table inserts

" But, i knew something opposite - that normal SQL insertion always faster than this one. There may be some exception - but not always. Pls go through the link --

Hi Satyaki,
The forall bulk processing is always faster than the row by row processing as shown in this test.
It is faster because you have much less executions of the insert statement and therefore less context switches.
I must mention that bulk fetching 100,000 records at a time isn't always a great idea for production code because
you'll use a large amount of PGA memory.
I guess you are confused with the "insert into products select * from products" variant. This pure SQL will beat the
forall variant.
From slow to fast:
1. row by row dynamic SQL without using bind variables (execute immediate insert ...)
2. row by row dynamic SQL with the use of bind variables (execute immediate insert ... using ...)
3. row by row static SQL (for r in c loop insert ... values ... end loop;)
4. bulk processing (forall ... insert ...)
5. single SQL (insert ... select)

Dynamic system resolution for portal published BI content

I have a Dev-Tst-Prd ABAP stack BI landscape with a corresponding Dev-Tst-Prd Java stack portal landscape.
My BI developers create reports and webdynpro applications which are then published to our portal and made available via iViews. These iViews refer to the target applications via URLs which contain hardcoded hostnames and port numbers. This makes it a pain when portal content is transported from Dev to Tst and then to Prd.
All my BI systems are known by the SAP_BW alias. I have a different system definition in each portal for the SAP_BW alias pointing to the corresponding BI backend.
Can I use dynamic system resolution for this? If so, how?
I want a URL like http://<devhost.domain>:<devport>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname to be transportable. Obviously if that starts out as http://dev.mycompany.com:8100/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname, it won't work when it arrives in tst where it needs to be http://tst.mycompany.com:8110/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname. If I could store the URL as something like http://<%JSP SAP_BW %>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appname this could be transportable if there was something in dynamic system resolution to resolve the variable appropriately at runtime in each system.
As a Netweaver administrator, rather than a portal developer, I'm a little lost as to where to even start.

What finally worked?
Create a Portal Component iView of type com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap
Set URL Template to http://<System.wap.ITS.hostname>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zcs_wd_cc_app
Set System to SAP_BW (where SAP_BW is an alias for the System entry for the system where we want the WebDynpro app to run)

Where did the parameter value reference come from?
The "wap.ITS.hostname" attribute name came from the portal's system definition for SAP_BW. Under System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape -> Portal Content the entry for the SAP_BW system can be displayed. In that system entry there is a field labelled SAP ITS host which contains the fully qualified hostname and port number for the ITS server delivering my application. Expanding the detail of this field (click the arrow head beside the name) shows its Property ID to be wap.ITS.hostname.
So this last answers my earlier question about where to find the valid contexts and attributes per context for the variables to substitute in the URL template. The contexts are the names of the fields available to configure the iView, the attributes are the Property IDs of the relevant information fields in the obect described by the context.
Note: This solution ended up only being required for WebDynpro content. The generated URL for WebDynpros appears to resolve any load-balance ITS URL to a specific host and port before publishing, the method here leaves the resolution until runtime - a great advantage in performance and flexibility.
The Web Application Designer published report content was generated in a transportable form already.

How I can create dynamically-formed requests or use native SQL in EJB?

I'm working around modify an example from NetWeaver Developer Studio (CarRental). I want to get ordered data from table and allow users to specify the ordering field, not in the code. EJB QL doesn't support dynamically-formed queries like "select object(b) from QuickBooking b where b.status like ?1 order by b.<b>?2</b>" so i can't passing field name as parameter into query. Creating a sorting method for every field is not good solution because I need a dynamically-formed requests.
I think using native SQL will help but I don't know how I can use SQL in EJB.

Dynamic Form - Barcode on master page, only contents on specific page to be populated on barcode

We have a dynamic form that grows as required. We have one barcode on the master page. As form grows to next page only the contents on that page (ie page 2) must be on the barcode on page 2 and page 1 content only on page 1. But if the form goes back to normal then the contents must not be on the barcode anymore.
Could anyone assist on this problem please?

For your issue, you can view the Upgrade Status page in Site Settings to verify that upgrade has succeeded for a site collection.
To view upgrade status in Site Settings
1.Verify that the user account that performs this procedure is a site collection administrator.
2.On the Site Settings page for the site collection, in the Site Collection Administration section, click Site collection upgrade.
3.On the Site Collection Upgrade page, click Review Site Collection Upgrade Status.
4.The Upgrade Status page for the site collection is displayed.

Also you can go to _layouts/15/reghost.aspx (Site Settings -> Site Actions -> Reset to site definition) and reset the master page gallery to site definition version.

Populating dynamic PDF Form Content

I have a livecycle form I designed that I need to populate with data coming from ColdFusion. Easy enough except for the dynamic areas of my form. I have numerous subforms in my PDF where a user can add extra fields (or rows in a table) and then submit the form. The problem is that I don't know how to access the fields within the subform when there is more than one to populate them. Can't post a dump of the submitted form, but it flows like this:

               subform
                    subform
                         array of text fields
I can process this with no problems on the CF side, but when trying to populate the form I'm having problems. I have javascript in the form that will add enough instances of the fields, but it doesn't populate them.
Any thoughts???

Destination for Forms contents

I am making a form for a website that will allow the user to send his/her email and comments to a nightclub managment so they can in turn send out information on parties to all who submit theyre emails. I was practicing the technique in a practice file. I was able to create the text fields as well as the submit button. My only issue and question is how do i set up the submit button properly so when the button is pressed the information is sent to a specific email address.

The form's action needs to point to a server side script that processes the form contents. For starters check with your host to see if they have a script that will work with your hosting plan. And please search this forum for 'form mail' for more details.

Looking for a solution or service to export data from a dynamic form into a database

As the title of this discussion states, I'm looking for a solution or service to export data from a dynamic form into a database to be used for reporting. Creating the dynamic form is not a problem, it's getting it into a database that's more of a nuisance. A dynamic form is needed in order to provide skip logic, hide/reveal, and other similar dynamic features.
The database hasn't been created, so just looking for the easiest, more effective and dependable solution. The key is being able to run reports off the data later.

So i set up 2 residential grade routers to test this out. Seems to be working okayish. I believe with directional antenae routers I should achieve what I need.
As for security I configured each device separately. I set them so only allow the MAC address of the other through wireless. This seems to be the best system for me. Once they are connected even if a MAC is spoofed of the other router it drops automatically because they are always connected. My wired devices get plugged in and recieve an IP from my main network.
There more testing to be done, but it seems to be working.
