Losing AM State when redirect="true" on struts forward

Works fine on embedded server.
Deploy to 10.1.2 OC4J stand-alone. Viola AM and session lost when redirect="true" on a forward....any ideas?

Thanks, silk.
That may be a possibility. I'm not sure I want the
client to have to make a second request,Isn't that what you mentioned in the OP ? ... if the
clients hit
your page, but you really want them to go somewhere
else,
you have to do it client-side ..
I thought that was the difference between forward and
redirect: forwarding is handled server side, and
redirecting is a response back to the client telling
him to go somewhere else. Ggainey said he thought you
could only forward locally. Are you confirming that
that's the case?what i was talking about was that even forwarding locally is done client
side; http-headers, no? i was suggesting that the idea of using a HttpConnection,
obviously, would not make that client go there, the server would ...
and I'd
rather have just the XML by itself, without itbeing
something's value.Not sure what you mean here, if you are 'posting'it,
it
has to be a value...I don't think so. Yes, you're right, i don't know what i was thinking when i wrote that.
If the only way to avoid a huge nasty roll-my-own is
to send the XML as a value, then I guess I can do it.Perhaps you could look into the way files are uploaded via html;
and hook your xml up to that instead of as a plain-old form value...?
depending on how large your xml-file is this is probably the most
appropriate way to go ...
This raises the next question: What do I have to do to
the XML to make it behave nicely as the RHS of value=?htmlEncode it; basically the double quotes just need to be " or whatever the
appropriate html code is. (note it will need to be reversed on the other side).
(of course, if you are going the file route; it will be in base64 form.)

Thanks, but unfortunately, this is not a message, it is the HTML page that it shown after a student registers for a course. I can see how to preview it at

• Problem whith redirect = "true" and portal

Hi!
I was trying to use a @jpf:forward with redirect="true" in a pageflow of my portal,
nevertheless, when it makes redirect, it opens outside the Portal, in a new page, I I need that I make everything within he himself Portal. How I can do this? thanks.
[email protected]

I think the redirect attribute only works when used in non portal pageflows. you will have to generate the (portal friendly) URL's yourself and redirect using the response object.
I believe you can use the url templates defined in url-template-config and a BEA class called GenericURL i think but ive never tried it

- MySQL standard 4.1 (had the issue with 4.0 and MaxDB)
- mysql-connector-java-3.0.14-production
I have read many articles on using using MySQL and Weblogic using I/O classes but not an article where a control was created in design view as I have done. Since I am able to read from the database with the executeQuery command I am led to believe that I have the database and driver set up correctly.
Anyone run into this and have an idea of what I don't have configured properly?

• Losing portal context when URL is submitted from flash/flex portlet

Hi, I am losing portal context when URL is submitted from action scripting in Flash/Flex portlet. I have selected the remote webservice portlet to use inline refresh. The jsp page is opening up in complete browser window instead of showing in portlet section.
below is the code snippet i am using.
<mm:mxml>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" width="400" height="200">
<mx:Script><![CDATA[
public function submitToBrowser():void {
var url:String = "formsubmit.jsp";
var u:URLRequest = new URLRequest();
var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
variables.name = fName.text;
u.data = variables;
u.url = url;
u.method = "POST";
navigateToURL(u,"_self");
]]></mx:Script>
<mx:Form id="myForm" defaultButton="{mySubmitButton}">
<mx:FormItem label="User Name">
<mx:TextInput id="fName" name="fName"/>
</mx:FormItem>
<mx:FormItem label="Password">
<mx:TextInput id="password" displayAsPassword="true"/>
</mx:FormItem>
<mx:FormItem>
<mx:Button label="Submit" id="mySubmitButton"
click="submitToBrowser();"/>
</mx:FormItem>
</mx:Form>
</mx:Application>
</mm:mxml>

inline refresh modifies javascript, not flex. Maybe try an iframe?

• How to turn off buffering of stdout when redirecting to a file

I have a Bourne Shell script wrapped around an ldapmodify step. I desire to redirect both stdout and stderr from the console to a common file. Unfortuately, Unix will start buffering stdout when it is written to a file. This results in all error messages (which are sent to unbuffered stderr) to appear before all the stdout messages.
It is not very useful to see errors (e.g., constraint violation) appear out of context to the actual ldif statements being processed.

Issue is resolved. Using the -e (i.e., error file) option of the ldapmodify binary will result in a meaningful error along with offending ldif entry being written to the error file.
BTW - I've come to the conclusion that from within a shell script you cannot override the "block buffering" of STDOUT when redirecting it to a file.

• TextBox losing its text when focus changed?

Hi all,
Im developing a plugin in Illustrator CS3 using VisualStudio 2005.
I design my dialog using ADM in VS.
The textbox losing its text when focus is changed.
In my dialog i have a textbox,checkbox and a ok and cancel button.
In case, if i enter the text and press tab or the checkbox (before moving the focus to ok or cancel button) the text remains uncleared.
But if i enter the text and move the mouse to ok or cancel button the text box value gets cleared.

• How to define target window when redirecting within frames using servlet?

Howdy:
Is there a way to define target window when redirecting within frames using servlets?
How to do it in JSP as well?

Your servlet (or JSP) can't decide where it is going to be displayed. The browser has already decided that when it makes the request to your servlet.

• Invalid cursor state when trying to insert record

Hi everyone!
I'm using JDBC-ODBC bridge to connect to a mySql database, which works fine. Then I try to insert new records, but this only works for the first record in the table.
When there is already a record in the table, I always get "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Invalid cursor state" when calling the updateRow()-method of the result set.
Here is my code: // open db connection
Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:TTManager", "xxxx", "xxxx");
// Prepare SQL statement
java.sql.Statement stmt = conn.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);
ResultSet result = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM Player");
result.moveToInsertRow();Then all fields are filled in this manner: result.updateString("Name", name);And finally the insertRow should be written to the db: result.insertRow();But at this point it gives the mentioned error, including these messages: at sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcResultSet.setPos(JdbcOdbcResultSet.java:5272)
at sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcResultSet.insertRow(JdbcOdbcResultSet.java:4132)Since I'm very unexperienced with Java, I guess (or hope^^) it's just some stupid beginner's mistake.
Oh, almost forgot to mention: The new record's data doesn't violate any unique-constraints on the table, all fields are explicitely filled and all variable's data types are matching their according field types!
Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, I needed to help myself and this is what I found out:
If the table already contains records, it is not enough to doresult.moveToInsertRow();but I must beresult.last();
result.moveToInsertRow();I didn't find any explanation and even the code examples from the Sun tutorial don't mention this, so I guess it's a bug occurring in my poor IT environment: DB server running mySQL 5.0.0-alpha on a P1-233-MMX w/ 64MB under WinNT4 (hey don't laugh!!^^).
Maybe this information is of use to someone having similar problems...
Greetings!

• How can we remove the child state when it will navigate to the parent state?

Hi All
I have two states. One state is Login(parent state). and second state is Browsing state(second state but independent to parent Login State)
when i navigate to first Login state the flex application navigates to Login successfully. But the values present in the second state Browsing state are still present in the memory or some where else.....
when re navigate to Browsing state from Login state with new values the Browsing state is not updated.. It is showing the previous values remain in the second state ....
What is the problem with this .. Can any one tell me the solution???
i think u are getting my point ???

This is a bug in Flex IDE
Try this:
if ur in state1.. while going to state2, remove state1 by using removeChild(state1) and then go.. in state2 if u want to go to state1..addChild(state1) then go

Hello,
I am facing the error when tried for GR from SRM portal for my shopping cart and for others created shopping cart. The error is
"Error in ABAP statement when processing an internal table. table."
I have the central receipient role. Couold any body assist me?
Thanks,

Hi Harish,
Execute the query in RSRT and check whether you have any short dump is in ST22. This would give a clear idea at what might have gone wrong.
Another thing is to check whether the code for the variable is fine in the user exit.
Hope this helps.

• Adobe Premiere CC 2014.2: losing rendered files when using warp stabilizer

Hi,
I am constantly losing rendered files when using the warp stabilizer. So far I have tried about every hint I could find on the web such as cleaning the cache, rebuilding the rendered files, creating additional sequences etc etc.
Honestly I am getting tired of using a product that isnt cheap in the first place to rent and where a bug like this apparently persists over several product versions without being fully fixed (I have had this problem throughout 2014 but according to forum postings others seem to have problems with much earlier versions as well).
I would be really grateful if somebofy has any suggestion how this can be addressed.
I am also happy to help testing fixes - if there are any fixes available.
Thanks a lot and Happy New Year!
Martin

Hi Catherine,
Welcome to the Adobe forums.
Please try the steps mentioned below and check if it works for you.
1. Launch Premiere Pro and create a Project, go to File menu>Project Settings>Renderer and change the Renderer to Software only mode, delete previews if you get a prompt and then try to import the clip.
2. If step 1 fails or the Renderer is already on Software only mode, go to Start Menu and search for Device Manager, go into Display Adapters and Right click on the Graphics card to select Update driver software option, on the next screen choose "Browse my computer for driver software", then choose "Let me Pick from a list..." option and from the list select "Standard VGA Graphics adapters. You might need to change the screen resolution of your screen and once done restart the machine again.
Launch Premiere Pro and import the clip to check.

• Can't parse WSDL when useProxy=true

Hello everyone.
I'm using Flex since 1.5 and now try to migrate Flex2.0.
Most of our application need to access data via WebService,
and we use <mx:WebService> tag to access them.
In our Flex1.5 environment, we also use Proxy service of Flex
(with specifying useProxy=true), and it works fine.
But in Flex2.0, our mxml application can't parse the same
WSDL when useProxy=true!
On the other hand, our application can parse correctly when
not using proxy service. (useProxy=false and set crossdomain.xml on
the root of datasource Web server.)
I'was so confusing that I captured HTTP traffic between
client application and server( both FlexDataService and Data source
Web Server), with ServiceCapture.
When useProxy=true, at first, client application sent request
to Flex Data Service to get not only calling the SOAP operations
but also calling WSDL itself. After that, Flex Data Service
returned the response message as WSDL data, and I found the WSDL
data was broken.
When useProxy=false, of cource, the WSDL was passed
datasource Web Server correctly and application could parse it
without problem.
These parse error depends on the WebService.
I wonder this is some bug of Flex Data Service or not.......

Hello, everyone.
After that, I tried to change the encoding of WSDL, which was
broken when useProxy=true, from UTF-16 to UTF-8.
And I could get correct WSDL data from Flex Data Service's
proxy.....
It seems when the encoding of WSDL is UTF-16, the parse is
failed, but I'm not sure this problem is happened commonly and this
is some of the bug of Flex Data Services.

• Af:table sorting when immediate='true' bug

Where can I find the patch to fix the problem of sorting an af:table when immediate='true'?

No I don't have a bug number, I've found that this is a bug based on this thread <a href src='BUG: ADF FACES 10.1.3_04: Table sort broken if immediate="true" but I have no idea what the number is or where to find the patch for it.
This is a really irritating bug. I want to have sorting on my tables but if I can't put immediate='true' on the table then other components on the page will fire their validation.
