Lost buttons on property inspector in CS4

I was previously using Dreamweaver CS3. I am testing
Dreamweaver CS4 but I have noticed a few missing buttons on my
property inspector when dealing with regular text within a web
page. I do not see the align left, center, and right buttons.
Is there a way to add them to the property inspector so that
I can get to them faster?

The PI in CS4 is in two parts. Click the CSS button and you
will see =
the remainder of the buttons. CS4 now correctly uses CSS
values and not =
deprecated html tags.

  • Missing icons/buttons in Property Inspector

In my DW CS5 the icons under the panel menu in Property Inspector are missing when it´s docked, see the left image below. It doesn´t matter if the DW- window is maximized or not. But when I make the panel floatin the icons are there. I wonder if someone knows if this is a bug or what? It´s possible to hide/show the part of PI with more alternatives by double-clicking. But I prefer to use the white expander arrow as I´ve done in previous versions...
    Does anyone have a clue?

Because those icons are located a fixed distance from the left of the Property Inspector, they only show when the tool panels that sit at the side of the Document Window (at least in my setup) are minimized, or when the PI is floating, as you mention.
I suggest you file a bug/feature report here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform, as the 'expand' arrow is definitely not available when it is hidden (perforce), and many times the Tool Panels will not be minimized and will hide the expand arrow.

  • Property Inspector Layout CS4

    I'm new to DW.
In the Properties Inspector window (HTML), there aren't any
formatting choices, e.g. font, size, etc. In fact the lower part of
the ID, Lind & Target boxes is cutoff.
For accessibility, I have my computer set to use "Larger
scale DPI scaling". Could this be interfering?
I know there's another way to access text formatting (via a
text menu?) but the only text menu I see is in the
Common/Layout/Forms toolbar and it doesn't have nearly the
    selection available.
    Thank you,
    Cheryl

If that's causing the display to be cut off, you should
    report it to
Adobe through the official bug report/feature request form:

  • Property inspector cut off [was: CS4 help]

    Hello all,
I just got a new computer with windows vista 64 bit.  With this new computer, I got a new CS4 package.  In dreamweaver, the properties pannel on the bottom of the screen cuts off and does not show all the stuff that it used to.  For example, I can see the word Target, but there is not dropdown box for me to select which target I want to select.  Is there a way to fix this so everything is viewable?
    Thanks

  • Dw CS4 property inspector maimed

I have my screen dpi set at 120, which apparently maims the
    property
inspector in Dw CS4, see screen shot here
    http://www.spinsister.nl/zandbak/propbar.htm
    . It is particularly
awkward when pasting a URL in the link field.
I did not have this problem in Dw CS3. The property inspector
    in my
    Fireworks CS4 looks fine.
I noticed this first when using the CS4 DW beta and reported
    it, hoping
Adobe would put it right in the final version. Since the
    problem
persists I am beginning to wonder whether it is indeed a bug
    or whether
    it is me.
    Can someone confirm?

  • Content of Property Inspector is lost...

    Hello,
I created a simple project in JDeveloper. But I can not see the properties of the frame or button or textfield in Property Inspector.
I dont know what I did wrong.
    May someone help please?
    Thanks in advance...

Yeah... :-) I got the problem solved.
I was using Ubuntu 7.10 in combination with Oracle JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3.3.
I had installed JDK 1.5 and JDK 1.6 (both puplished by sun). JDK 1.6 was my default JDK and so JDeveloper started by default with this JDK.
Because of a bug in the Ubuntu Desktop Effects -> http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=539670
I couldn't see any gui when I started JDeveloper with JDK 1.5. So I decided to use JDK 1.6 which worked fine, until I decided to use swing to develop gui applications.
The solution was to disable the desktop effects of ubuntu and to change the JavaHome in the config file of JDeveloper:
    jdevstudiobase10133/jdev/bin/jdev.conf
    # Directive SetJavaHome is not required by default, except for the base
    SetJavaHome /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun
Afterwards I started JDeveloper (using JDK 1.5) and guess what, I can see the gui of JDeveloper. I only needed to change the projects default JDK to JDK 1.6 and now JDeveloper itself runs with JDK 1.5, but the projects get compiled and developed using JDK 1.6, which is just what I wanted.

  • CS4 Property Inspector - Restore defaults?

I seem to have putzed up my property inspector, and I'm not sure how I did it.  See attached:
I have no idea what I did to make this happen, but my rectangle tool (which I use heavily) no longer affords me access to the "roundness" set of options.  I've tried dragging the property inspector out of its spot, docking it elsewhere, I reset my user defaults for all of Fireworks, no luck.  I can't for the life of me figure out what happened to it or how to reset it.  Yes, I can work around it using the actual "rounded rectangle" shape rather than the rectangle tool, but that's beside the point.
If anyone has any idea what I've done to screw this up, and how to correct it, I'd be very grateful.  I'm at a loss.

Yes it is a group.  This "grouping" is what makes the corner radius feature possible.
If you try for example to use the subselection tool to edit the corner points, you are prompted by Fireworks to ungroup the rectangle. If you are not prompted to ungroup the rectangle it means it's already been ungrouped, intentionally or otherwise.

  • Property inspector not displaying properties

Trivial problem: DAK why DW8 (8.0.2) Property inspector
sometimes displays just "Div ID, Class and an Edit CSS button" when
within a DIV? When in Code view in a correctly functioning
page, most of the code will have detailed HTML properties displayed
as usual. But in one section - which has multiple nested DIVs with
some other HTML inside, Property inspector displays only the DIV
details instead of the other HTML details - as if it were still
inspecting the DIV tag itself instead of being within the DIV?
The page validates with no errors and the DIVs are closed
with </div> in the right places.

Yes, me too. I can't find an answer to this anywhere.
If I right-click or double-click on an item the property
inspector shows it, but if I single click, nothing happens. It's
    bad for productivity.

  • Property inspector not working in fireworks

    Hi folks,
I am using Fireworks CS 5.1 on a MAC Pro. I haven't used Fireworks in ages but I can't for the life of me figure out where the Property Inspector has gone. I'm creating a very simple button. I put a simple line of text on my page, a box and a line. I have selected each one and then clicked the Windows menu and clicked Properties. The Properties box appears but it has nothing in it. Doesn't seem to matter what I click on there are no properties showing up.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Sylvia

A lot of glitches in Fireworks can be solved by deleting the preferences file. First you will have to make sure your Library folder is viewable and you are accessing the root folder on your hard drive. In recent releases of Mac OS, it is hidden by default.
First, show your Hard Drive by following these directions:
In the Finder, choose Preferences from the Finder menu.
Click the General icon on the toolbar.
Select "Hard disks" in the "Show these items on the desktop:" section.
    Close the Finder Preferences window.
Next, you'll have to unhide the library folder by following these instructions:
In the Finder, choose View > Show View Options (or press Command-J).
Near the bottom of the resulting View-Options palette is a setting called Show Library Folder. Enable this option. Your Library folder is immediately visible.
In that folder, find the Preferences folder. Then in the preferences folder, find the file with this name (or similar): "com.adobe.Fireworks.12.0.0.plist" and delete it.
Restart your machine and Fireworks and your problem may be solved.

  • Property Inspector for Locked Content Doesn't Set Content Dirty

I have a property inspector for my locked content. When the
user sets a new value in the inspector, the orig attribute of the
MM:BeginLock tag is updated appropriately. Unfortunately,
Dreamweaver doesn't see that change as having modified the document
in a meaningful way, so it doesn't enable the Refresh Design View
buttons. Hitting F5, the hotkey for Refresh Design View, has no
    effect.
Do you have a suggestion how I can make Dreamweaver think the
    content is modified?

  • Font change in property inspector

    Good day all
I would like to change the font used in Dreamweaver MX's
windows, such as the property inspector. For example when a layout
table is selected the font used in the property inspector to
indicate width, height, cell pad, cell space etc appears pixelated
making it difficult to read, for a beginner like me. I have tried
altering the PC's screen resolution but it makes no difference and
It is only the floating windows, such as the property inspector and
objects window, that the problem shows itself- the rest of the
Dreamweaver window, such as the menus, appear ok.
Does anybody know how to change it???
    Many thanks in advance
    Chris

It depends very much on precisely what you mean in the above.
    I will assume
that when you say 'one line' you mean 'one paragraph'. to do
    that, you
would create a rule like this -
    #content p.special { font-size:16px; }
and then apply the 'special' class to the paragraph in
    question by selecting
it with the tag selector, right clicking to get the context
    menu, and using
    "Set class to -> special".
Or, you could click in the paragraph tag in question and use
    the 'Style'
selector on the Property inspector to select "special".
If, instead, you meant one line within a paragraph, then you
    would have to
select that text, and surround it with a span tag (using
    Ctrl-t). Apply the
'special' class to the span tag, and adjust your rule like
    this -
    #content span.special { font-size:16px; }

  • How can I change the color of the font with the Property Inspector?

In Dreamweaver CS6, can one change the font color with the property inspector?  How?
I don't know if I will automatically be notified when someone responds, and I don't want to be running back to this site every day to check.  So if you have an answer for me, would you be kind enough to email me at [email protected]?  Many thanks.

    mike agranoff wrote:

"Upgrade" and "improvement" are rarely synonymous.
    Mike Agranoff
There is still a font color button in DW. In the Properties window, click the CSS button in the lower left when you have text selected. There is a little gray square with a tiny black arrow in the corner for font colors. It still uses css, but will muddy up your text with inline styles which isn't generally the best way to do things.
One of the biggest advantages to using css is the ability to put all of your styles in one external .css file. That allows you to make a single change, to a color setting for instance, and have that change affect your entire site (everything you put a given css class on). As it stands, using the old html font-color attribute, or inline css forces you to go through the code with a fine tooth comb and change each individual setting.
CSS is a massive upgrade and improvement over the old method.
I would definitely suggest getting familiar with css, it really is required for any kind of modern website and ends up making your life much much easier while using the CSS Designer window in DW (which is where a lot of this stuff takes place now in a Design View development approach)...
http://w3schools.com/css is a good place to start.

  • Showing my own styleClass in Property inspector styleClass combo

When i add css styles for entities such as <button>, urls do not become context aware!! i.e. the url is not changed to include the application's name, which results in images not displaying.
Is this a case of discrimination between adf css definitions and html css definitions?
Here is a snip of my .css file (which is defined in my adf-faces-skins.xml)
    -----------start---------------
    button.update {
    content:url(/skins/myskin/images/update.png);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-position: center left;
    padding-left: 15px;
    -----------end---------------
After i run my application my css file is generated named "myskin-desktop-10_1_3_1_0-en-gecko.css" and displays the following for this button...
    -----------start---------------
    button.update,button.x8w {content:url(/skins/myskin/images/update.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center left; padding-left: 15px;}
    -----------end---------------
As you can see, the url points to /skins/myskin/images/update.png not /myapp/skins/myskin/images/update.png.
How can i make my css definitions context aware?

    I'm using Jdev 10.1.3.4.
