Lost parameters

I am new to crystal reports and my report uses parameters to select the data and has a subreport based on anothe report with the same data. When I open up the report in Crysta view I can not find my parameters and although I can my link to my on demand subreport it remains inactive. Could any one tell me if this is a probelem that IO can work around or do i need to use the crystal reports server?
Thanks
Stan

Hi Stan,
The Crystal Reports Viewer XI is used to reports that already contain saved data.  It currently does not refresh or prompt for parameters.
If you want to prompt for parameters and refresh the data you can use eith Crystal Reports, thick/thin client SDK Viewers, Crystal Reports Server or Business Objects Enterprise to view the report.

  • Performance parameters WLS4.03 & Heartbeat Lost

    Hello,
    We are currently having performance problems with WLS 4.03:
    1. Heartbeat Lost
    Sometimes, we get messages as "Heartbeat/PublicKey Resend detected". In previous newsgroup postings, this was said to be due to a combination of JDK1.1.7 + WLS4.03 + NTPerformance Pack enabled. However, after disabling the Performance pack, problems persist. Does anyone have experience with this?
    Now we have the Perf. pack enabled and performance seems to be slightly better than when disabled; even with the above messages.
    2. Parameters.
    As performance tuning on the production server on one side and the simulation of many users on a test machine on the other hand is rather difficult, we do not know whether current parameters are really suitable on our production machine:
    weblogic.system.executeThreadCount=45
    weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.Pool_name=\
    url=jdbc:weblogic:oracle:DB_name,\
    driver=weblogic.jdbc.oci.Driver,\
    loginDelaySecs=1,\
    initialCapacity=5,\
    maxCapacity=20,\
    capacityIncrement=2,\
    refreshMinutes=10,\
    WLS 4.03 is running on a dual-CPU NT4.0 server and started with:
    java -ms512m -mx512m -noasyncgc -Dweblogic.system.home=e:\weblogic weblogic.Server
    DB Server: Oracle815 database on seperate unix server.
    We are planning an upgrade to WLS5.1 & JDK1.2.2 but this will not be before spring 2001: in the meantime would anyone have any remarks on the above settings of our WLS4.03?
    Thanks & best regards,
    Lieven.

    Update: I mucked about more after making this post; I installed gnome-alsa-mixer and checked the "internal mic" option and "Auto-Mute mode" (both were off), after this my headphone output works again, and does the built-in microphone (!)
    I have no idea how I ended up in this "broken" situation, or even what this option does, or how to use it without gnome-alsa-mixer (I had to install 15 packages to get this, as I normally don't use gnome)... Sound on Linux still seems no better than when I started using it 15 years ago :-( (I spent about 5 hours on this...)

  • ACE 4710 - Parameters Lost in URL

    Hi Everyone,
    I have configured SSL offloading and redirection on a 4710 appliance. Everything works fine. The issue I am facing is that some parameters in url are getting lost.
    I have https://%h/%p configured as a redirect server which works fine as far as hostname and path is concerned. i.e. full hostname and path are preserved, but that there are some parameters after the full path in encrypted format which are getting lost. I think 307 redirect can resolve this issue but ACE does not support that.
    Has anyone faced something similar? Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thanks.

    @Jorge: The device has many policies and has been running for a few years, therefore the show stats http command will not be of much help as we may see other traffic statistics/errors. If your looking for max parse len errors then thats not happening. The url length is not that long. Let me know if anything specific you want me to check.
    @Cesar: I will check but as per the information I have there are some parameters after the complete path "/" which are hash value of an authentication request. Basically what is happening when the user goes to the page, user needs to enter credentials. Once the user clicks submit the page just reloads, instead of going to the requested url.
    Thanks for your support,

  • SSOServlet - query string parameters being lost

    Hi,
    We recently upgraded ALUI from version 5.04J to 6.1. After the upgrade, we noticed one issue with the redirection. When the user is not logged in & accesses a secure commnity, he/she is redirected to the SSO Servlet. For instance, if the following URL is accessed
    /portal/server.pt?open=512&objID=326&PageID=0&cached=true&mode=2&userID=2&CommunityID=326
    the user should be redirected to (as in version 5.04J)
    /portal/SSOServlet?open=512&objID=326&PageID=0&cached=true&mode=2&userID=2&CommunityID=326
    Instead the user is redirected to /portal/SSOServlet?
    (without the query string)
    Does anyone know why?
    Thanks,
    Dev

    I've tired doing this and it did not work for me. However, I was able to find a solution that helped me a whole lot.
    After running all test runs - I found a solution that helped me take off the extra parameters that Eloqua adds to all URL's.
    I created my urls without placing "http://" or "https://" or http://www." or "https://www." and that helped take off all tracking.

  • OpenDocument - Parameters is lost when opening the report with token

    Hello,
    we want to migrate our BO Enterprise (XI R3) from Tomcat to IIS.
    We developed an application in which you can open reports by using the opendocument-url.
    It was no problem with our old BO-Enterprise Server (tomcat/jsp), but with our new BO-System (IIS / aspx) the parameter is not passed, so that you have got to fill out the parameter mask, before the report is opened.
    http://servername/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.aspx?iDocID=1926&lsSParameter=307&token=....2082J38Mfsg5PvRXmk002080JuLfwCe5XZw0T0sT
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    So does it still prompt for the parameter even if you don't pass the token and you manually log on?
    If so, you're asking in the wrong forum - you'd ask in the report-type-specific forum.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Print driver options and parameters lost

    I can see and print on both my HP Laserjet 1300 and Canon S900 printers with Leopard, but I can no longer manage the detailed print settings on either. So with my photo printer in particular, this is no better than not being able to print at all!
    What's going on? I've carefully installed the optional drivers for both printers from the OS X 10.5 disk, and I'm upgraded to 10.5.1. I've also tried reverting to my previous drivers, but no luck. These printers are from two cornerstone printer vendors, so the problem has got to be with Apple - I am right? Is there something I'm missing? Why should my computer configuration become emasculated in this way, when all I did was upgrade as Apple recommended?
    Can I expect a fix? When? From whom?

    In Page Setup if I switch the "Format For" popup then I see the difference paper sizes.
    In the print dialog, using the popup with the dividing line behind it, I can switch to Finishing. In the resulting panel there's a "Media Type" popup. That has light, heavy, and card stock g/m2 selections as well as letterhead, transparencies, envelope and a bunch of other options.
    If you're not seeing these then you'll want to make sure you are not using the Generic PostScript PPD. In the System Preferences Print & Fax panel you can check this. Click on your printer, then on the "Options & Supplies" button. Hit the resulting Driver tab. The first line will sat "Print using:" and then the driver being used.
    I hope this helps.

  • TB stopped retrieving new messages and trying to "reconfigure" my account to fix the problem, now I lost my old messages.

    [4/15/14 edit #3] I posted the requested troubleshooting information and made a backup of Profiles using MozBackup, so my remaining problem is the presence of two Inboxes, both receiving messages, and my not being sure which one can safely be deleted nor how to safely delete it.
    [4/14/14 edit #2] T'bird's Help taught me where my "Profiles" are stored but I found I had no backup of them. However, I now discover that I have TWO Inboxes - hadn't noticed that quirk before. Thankfully, one of them still contains all of my old messages! The Inbox that still has all of my old mail is listed as a subfolder under "Local Folders" and the Inbox that I thought was my only Inbox is listed as a subfolder under the top folder whose name is my email address. Both Inboxes are now retrieving my new mail. Does this mean I have somehow created two accounts? If so, how do I get rid of the account that uses the Inbox that does not have all my old mail in it? I don't want to get rid of the wrong account but I suspect the "right" one should be listed under my email address, not under "Local Folders". If anyone understands this mess that I've created, I'd really appreciate some advice so I don't make things worse. At least I've now learned what it is that I need to back up.
    [4/14/14 edit #1] Following is a major update of the problem I described before (see below). I disabled the Mail Shield portion of my Free Avast antivirus software and discovered that TB was again able to retrieve my email. Then I re-enabled Avast to see if it blocked TB again. It did not. So, apparently simply turning Avast's Mail Shield off and then back on again seems to have fixed the problem. However, I'm now left with the consequences of my having tried to "reset" TB as I described below, namely the loss of a very large number of emails that were stored in my Inbox. So the remaining problem I'd like help with is how to recover those seemingly lost emails. If they remain on my hard drive, where did TB store them and what specific files should I look for? I do have a backup of some of my hard drive (but nothing under Program Files), but I need to know how to identify them, where to look, and how to get them back into my Inbox without deleting its current contents. I'd really like to also retain their original dates, if possible. I'm running 64-bit Windows 8.1. [end of 4/14/14 edit]
    TB suddenly stopped downloading my mail today. After I click Get Mail, I can see at the bottom of the screen a very rapid succession of messages; first the "connected..." message, then "checking...", then "downloading 1 of 10...", then finally, "No messages to download" after downloading absolutely none of them. I also noticed that my list of mailboxes was missing the very first entry that showed my email address as the account name. Figuring something major must have been changed in my account configuration, I went through all the settings but saw no problems. Finally, I decided to try to re-establish my same account. That did place my email address again back at the top of the mailbox listings as my working account name but it also created a worse problem. There were now no messages in my inbox, I suppose because I must have created a new account using the same name as the old one, whereas before there were thousands of messages that I had saved for many years (since this is a business). Then when I clicked Get Mail, TB downloaded 383 messages that had not yet been deleted from the server, giving then all today's date (another loss since their original dates were important). But after it finished downloading all of them, clicking Get Mail still does not retrieve any messages past the time that it stopped retrieving them earlier today. Those newest messages remain on the server - but now there are 14 of them instead of 10. The same succession of TB messages appears at the bottom of the screen, but now it says "Downloading 1 of 14..." but still downloads none of them and ends with, "No messages to download". This sequence of messages will repeat as often as I try to retrieve mail but it can still count how many it is NOT downloading. Two questions: (1) Are the thousands of messages that were stored in my Inbox still stored somewhere on my computer and is there any way to recover them? (2) How can I get TB to start retrieving my current email again? I guess it's obvious that these are important problems to me and that I'm totally stumped. Many thanks in advance.

  • Reading parameters lists from a text file

    Hi All,
    Using CR XI R2 with VB6  and external .rpt files - - - - -
    In a VB6 app I use VB to loop through my tables to create dynamic parameter lists (CR XI is limited to the number of parameters it can create from the table). This works well but each time the user refreshes the report the same code is run to re-create the parameter list which is redundant and slows down the report(s).
    Is it possible to manually create a series of text files - say each morning - and then read the parameter lists from the text file(s) at runtime instead of doing it on the fly each time?
    Thanks in advance!
    Peter Tyler
    Geneva - Switzerland

    I find this sentence confusing:
    Is it possible to manually create a series of text files - say each morning - and then read the parameter lists from the text file(s) at runtime instead of doing it on the fly each time?
    Typically, runtime means on the fly - I think...
    So, I'm not sure if you are trying to read a saved data report and filter that saved data so that you do not have to hit the database(?).
    Creating a text file is beyond the support of this forum, though that should be a trivial exercise. Reading a text file and passing the results to a parameter is the same thing you are doing already, so I'm not sure where the hang up would be here(?)
    Or - rather than creating a text file, why not create a temp table and query it as you do when you loop through the tables to create dynamic parameter lists(?).
    I'm pretty lost here...

  • Alert Parameters to Get Interface Description (i.e. Something Meaningful to Network Admins)

    Hi All,
    We have recently deployed OpsMgr 2012 R2 inparallel to our legacy 2007 environment.
    For network device monitoring in the 2007 environment we used the xSNMP Management Pack on top-of the native capabilities.
    On of the positive aspects of the 2007 set-up was that we were able to leverage the xSNMP Management Packs ability to expose the interface alias/description which our Network admins populate to identify the connection/purpose of an interface within the SMS
    Channel format.
    Basically, the Network Admins would give me a list of critical interfaces and using the combination of Path and Alias/Description I would be able to confidently enable interface monitoring and alerting for those interfaces.
    In 2012, however, all that has been changed.  Now, interfaces are identified by an Interface Name value that is not really meaningful or relevant to the way our Network Admins work.  Wjat I also find problematic is the way that interfaces seem
    to have been divorced from the the source device in such a way that the default email alert format doesn't even include the Path (source device) on which the interface generating the alert is associated with.  This is even the case when trying to create
    a custom monitored interfaces State view in that the Path column is populated by the MAC address rather than with the host device that the interface is on which is what really matters.  Who deals in MAC addresses?
    What we require is a way to expose the host device and Interface Description and Alias  values as part of an SMS/email alert as that is crucial information that an on-call engineer being woken-up at 2:00 AM needs to know rather than scratching
    their head with some guff about IF-20 without even the parent device of that interface given so that they can at least know what device to log-on to manually try and identify which interface connection/service  is down even though they should not have
    to do that.
    I have already tried to customize the SMS Channel format from its default format to the following:
    State: $Data[Default='Not Present']/Context/DataItem/ResolutionStateName$ $Data/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntityFullName$ $Data/Context/DataItem/AlertName$
    using the list of alert parameters from Kevin Holman's blog but even with the $Data/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntityFullName parameter the information is not satisfactory.
    For all the improvement in SNMP and network monitoring it seems that something that was actually good and useful in 2007 has now been lost because of the way interfaces/ports  have been divorced from the parent Managed Network Node device.
    Can anyone advise how I might be able to get sensible interface alerts in my email and SMS notifications that provide the host router/switch Display Name, and the Interface Description and Alias of the Interface?
    Points given to all considered replies.
    Kind Regards,
    Michael

    Yeah, that's kind of a mess...
    You can create a workaround to change the name similar like that:
    http://www.vroege.biz/?p=746
    But it needs some authoring knowledge and must run every time after a network discovery. Since this means a class property change it is a performance consuming workflow and should not run top often.

  • SSO and success URL with parameters

    Hello
    I have succeeded to configure HTML_DB engine as Partner App for Oracle SSO.
    HTML_DB 1.5.0.00.33
    Oracle IAS Release 1 ehk 1.0.2.2.2
    I'm entering into HTMLDB application from outside directly to concrete page with concrete parameters. The calling outside app is authenticated with SSO.
    Example URL: http://host/pls/DAD/f?p=103:3:::::PAR1,PAR2:VAL1,VAL2
    I'm then authenticated checked against SSO and redirected to my requested page, but the parameters are lost. The URL looks like http://host/pls/DAD/f?p=103:3:987698769876098
    It only happens at first try. Next time I have a session and I'm redirected together with parametes.
    It seams that this http://host/pls/DAD/wwv_flow_custom_auth_sso.process_success is getting somehow wrong parameter URLC. Without parameters. Why?
    Please help!
    Yours,
    jan lakspere

    Hi
    Thanks, Scott.
    This patch 1.5.1 solved this problem. Now SSO redirect forwards the parameters together with URL.

    jan

  • Password is lost when I save the Crystal Report

    We use Crystal Reports v. 11.5.3.417, and our users access the crystal Reports using InfoView (Web Portal)
    We store the username and password inside the different Repor so the end-users of these reports don't have to know our database passwords in order to run the reports. (Oracle DB)
    We have 2 problems with our Crystal Reports
    1) Every time I change and the Save a report, the Password is lost, and I have to remember to go into the "Manage Object" and Process->Database and enter it again. It's really annoying to have to remember this every time we change a report.. Is there an option somewhere to avoid this?
    2) The password and username are occationly failing. When the users (accessing Crystal Reports through the Web Portal / Infoview) get an error message "Incorrect logon parameters..." The funny thing (actually not that funny) is that if I try to open the report like 10-15 times, just by clicking on the Crystal Report in the Infoview, it usually starts to work again. Some times after 5 clickes, and other times after 10-15 clicks. Its just not logical. Also when it starts working in my web-browser, it also start to work on our users browser as well.
    Every week I have to tell a couple of users to try like 10-15 times, but its not that funny to say this to a user.

    Hi   Roy Ingar Hansen,
    If  you think not to provide the password for your End user then we can  do that go into the "Manage Object" and Process->Database  enter the password  and Enable the option in :
    When viewing report:
    Use same database logon as when report is run.
    For the first time you need to enter the logon credentials and enable the option and click on update.
    It wont prompt for the password and it will not show password to your user's.
    If you have problems with Original database logon , then try with Custom database logon and update the option.
    Try with this...
    Regards,
    Naveen.

  • Lost of Parameter file in web application

    Hi,
    We develop a java (1.5) application running on Tomcat (5.5 and 6.0).
    In this application, we use a parameter file in YAML format.
    Everything works perfectly except when the tomcat server is restarted.
    At this point, the application is no more able to reach the parameter file.
    We have to re-deploy the whole application to be able to use the parameter file.
    But we lost it again when the server is restarted.
    We don't know if the problem is coming from our tomcat configuration or from our java code.
    The problem is seen on Tomcat 5.5, 6.0 and on Linux and Mac OS X.
    So, it must come from our code.
    Do you have an idea ?
    Thanks
    Here is the code where the parameter file is read:
    final private String YAMLpath = "truc" + File.separator + "META-INF" + File.separator + "Parameters.yaml";
    try
                   Scanner openYAML55 = new Scanner(new File(this.YAMLpath) ); //For Tomcat5.5
                   this.readParameterFile(openYAML55);
                   openYAML55.close();
              catch(FileNotFoundException f)
                   f.printStackTrace();
    private void readParameterFile(Scanner paramFile)
         while(paramFile.hasNextLine())
                   Pattern paramLine = Pattern.compile("(\\w+)\\s*:\\s*(.*)");
                   Matcher paramArg = paramLine.matcher(paramFile.nextLine());
                   if ( paramArg.matches() )
    if ( paramArg.group(1).trim().equals("dbase") )
                             this.dbase = paramArg.group(2).replaceAll("\"", "").trim();
                        else if ( paramArg.group(1).trim().equals("dbport") )
                             this.dbport = Integer.parseInt( paramArg.group(2).replaceAll("\"", "").trim() );
                        else if ( paramArg.group(1).trim().equals("dbhost") )
                             this.dbhost = paramArg.group(2).replaceAll("\"", "").trim();
              this.bgeeRoot = this.serverRoot + this.bgeeRoot;
              this.homePage = this.serverRoot + this.homePage;
    }

    How about simply loading the file or obtaining its input stream as a resource using ClassLoader.getResource[AsStream]? Direct file access to parts of a web app... my oh my.
