Lost Records in Developer 6i

Strange problem here - wanted to see if anyone has insight.
I have a customer form which allows a user to insert multiple data records - one record at a time via the use of a command button with a WHEN_BUTTON_PRESSED trigger.
I want to hold off on executing a COMMIT or ROLLBACK until the user is finished with all of the INSERTs - with a confirmation message screen, displayed via the SHOW_ALERT process.
While working within a session, the traps for avoiding multiple inserts of the same primary key, null values, etc. are all working okay. They even show that all of the records inserted during this session exist, and won't allow a duplicate primary key to be inserted, which is what I want to have happen.
However, the only record which is COMMIT'ed to the database is the LAST RECORD inserted - all of the other records are not saved.
Also, during the same session, use of an LOV lookup does not include the recently inserted rows of data - indicating that they are not in the database.
I can alleviate the error by executing a commit after each individual insert. However, If I want to give the "ROLLBACK" or "COMMIT" confirmation choice, that means I have to execute it once for every record (The Microsoft model of asking "Are you sure you want to do this?" every time).
I want the form to allow the Insert of multiple records, and then deciding to rollback or commit all of the inserts at the same time. Any ideas? I've looked at multiple resources, but haven't found an answer. My best guess is that since the forms are custom forms, rather than data block forms, each interaction with the server-based database is treated as an independent session, and that the default on a session is an implicit rollback as opposed to the implicit commit that occurs for example when you EXIT from SQL*Plus without executing an explicit COMMIT or ROLLBACK. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I didn't get your question fully.
I guess somewhat.
Use "post" for each record to store it in database temperorly. User can do whatever he wants either commit or rollback.
try this

  • When importing from an old Lightroom 2 catalog into Lightroom 4 (also from Windows to Mac) I seem to have lost all the development history of my photos.  Is there any way to retain that?

I finally managed to get through the process of moving files and catalog from Lightroom 2.7 on a PC to Lightroom 4 on my Mac.  I think I did it all correctly and all my file and previews and some tagging seems to be there.  Two things are lost
1 - Most importantly, the development history on my files.  I can see the edited versions in the previews, but as soon as I click on it, I can see that I lose all the changes I had made before.  When I look at Development history, it just says "Imported on...."  I'd love to get this back.  That is a ton of processing work just lost because I switched computers.
2 -  The collection names seem to have come over, but they are all empty.  This is also a lot of work lost, though not as important as #1
    Is there any recourse?

Add artwork to songs and other items
Music and video you buy from the iTunes Store comes with its own artwork. You can add your own artwork to songs and other items in your library.
You can add many popular types of still image files, including JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and Photoshop. You must convert WAV files to another format before you can add artwork to them.
Album artwork for the currently playing item appears to the left of the progress bar. To view album artwork at a larger size in a separate window, click the artwork.

  • All connections are lost in SQL Developer 1.5

    Windows XP - SP2
Install Oracle Developer 1.5 today on my XP box. I don't have any old version of Oracle Developer installed before.
I created some connections and able to do some query against some database. Then, I close Oracle SQL Developer. When I relaunch it again, I found all the connections I have created are lost. When I try to recreate any connection, it failed and I see lots of java error by view "Logging Page - Log" tab. Not sure, how to copy and paste those log information.
Since I can't create any connections, I can't use SQL Developer 1.5 anymore. I have to reinstall it again.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!
    Kevin

I have posted an announcement with the workaround for this problem, but I'll go ahead and duplicate them here :)
We have identified an issue with loading connections in SQL Developer 1.5. The symptoms of the problem are a failure to load previously defined connections in the Connections navigator coupled with errors displayed in the Logging Page related to severe problems initializing the JNDI context.
There are two known workarounds to this issue. The first is to install and use JDK 6.0 update 6 (or later). This may require removing the jdk directory from the SQL Developer install and/or editing the sqldeveloper.conf file to remove any references to a Java Home.
The second workaround is to modify the sqldeveloper.conf file to add some libraries to the classpath. These libraries are currently being added to the classpath by one or more extensions; however, adding them to the sqldeveloper.conf file will ensure they get added in the correct order. Add the following lines:
    AddJavaLibFile ../../lib/java/api/jaxb-api.jar
    AddJavaLibFile ../../lib/java/api/jsr173_api.jar
    AddJavaLibFile ../../j2ee/home/lib/activation.jar
    AddJavaLibFile ../../lib/java/shared/sun.jaxb/2.0/jaxb-xjc.jar
    AddJavaLibFile ../../lib/java/shared/sun.jaxb/2.0/jaxb-impl.jar
    AddJavaLibFile ../../lib/java/shared/sun.jaxb/2.0/jaxb1-impl.jar

  • Lost all my develop settings please help

I processed over 500 CR2 files in Lightroom 4. I then cut and pasted the entire folder that these files were in from my E drive to my C drive. I then imported them back into Lightroom 4 from their new location. However, every file is now back in its orfginal state and seems to have lost all of the develop settings that I spent days doing. Is there a way to get all this development work retireved or am I going to be phoning the Samaritans?
Thanks to anybody who can help

In general, you can't move photos from one place to another by cutting and pasting and import them back into Lightroom to recognize them. Lightroom now thinks these are new photos that it has never seen before, with no edits.
To fix this problem, you need to find your original catalog file which has registered the photos on the E: drive, and open that catalog. Try opening all the catalogs under File->Open Recent. If you can find this catalog, it has your edits. You can then fix the problem my moving the photos exactly to where they were before on the E drive (Exactly!), or re-link to the photos via http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm
Furthermore, why would you even want to do such a cut and paste to a different drive anyway, Lightroom or not? What is wrong with just leaving them on the E drive?
You might to do some more learning about how Lightroom works to avoid this problem and similar ones in the future. A good place to start is http://tv.adobe.com/show/getting-started-with-adobe-photoshop-lightroom-4/ You might want to think about a workflow that doesn't involve moving photos from here to there, and a workflow that achieves organization not by folders but by keywords and other metadata.

  • Snow Leopard - Bento 2.0v5 - Lost record data on Snow Leopard Upgrade

Any thoughts on this one: After an update to Snow Leopard 10.6 and 10.6.1, the data entered in Bento fields associated with contact names in Address Book are no longer available (only 10 of 300 or more records are still available) In addition, the categories associated with names in Address Book have no records in the associated categories in Bento. Further, this problem exists for all of my backup copies of Bento. (i.e. it appears the only way to go recover this might be to go back to a full computer backup recovery from prior to 10.6. I hypothesis that the links between individual records in Bento and Address Book have somehow become corrupted or broken. Therefore the data may well exist in Bento but it is not retrievable. This could be because Bento might believes incorrectly that the original AddressBook record was deleted. Just to confuse things a bit, another possible source of the problem may be because AddressBook is synchronized with other computers and Google. However, post my upgrades to 10.6, all these other accounts were download from the main computer on which Bento resides. A minor Address Book - Mail bug is possibly related. That is that when I "add to Address Book" by ctl-clicking an email address in Mail, this email address apparently added but it is often not found in Address Book. At times it comes shows up later but often it just disappears entirely.

I have gotten a little closer to the problem. It appears that the update to SnowLeopard is not the problem. Rather syncing might be the culprit. I sync AddressBook with MobileMe and Google. The latter was as addition immediately after the Snow Leopard upgrade. I did clean out the GMail address book prior to syncing. Recently, I noticed some duplicate records in AddressBook. Some at least had two middle initials with periods. It appears there is a different format for this cell in the two systems. In one record they showed with no space and in the other with a space between the first period and the second letter.
I was able to recover my AddressBook data. All the records had an update date from my first syncing after adding GMail. The old records had a mix of dates. I just went back to the date with mixed dates. After recovering the records and turning off syncing, Bento is working just fine and all old data is displayed.

  • Lost Record Feature on Audigy

I've been doing some reel-to-reel conversions with my Audigy 2 ZS card through the Line 3 input. It's been working fine for months until I put in a new ATI Radeon 9550 video card. Now I can hear the input through Line 3, but it records silence and shows nothing on the meters. I can affect the volume with the break-out box but can't get it to show any input on the WaveStudio.
My guess is that the Radeon has changed the file associations but I can't find any specific one that has not been changed back by me to Windows Media Player. The video card replaced a previous ATI on the same AGP slot and I've not had any problems with anything else. Nothing under Device Manager shows a problem. Running the Creative diagnostics shows everything normal. Here are system specs:
    MSI Motherboard
    Intel 4.7 Processor
    GB RAM
    4 HD's totaling 500 MB
    Win XP Home
Thanks in advance for your help!

It is the best board for Soundblaster card queries, but you have to remember this is a peer-to-peer board. It could be no one else has experienced a similar problem, or has anything to add that might help.
If you need Support from Creative directly, help is available through the Support channels (phone and e-mail).
Did you check the mixer to make sure nothing was adjusted there? Is everything still set correctly in Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices?

  • Lost Record

I have a Creative Zen M: 30 GB which I was using to record interviews,
after 45 minutes of recording the Zen locked up, requiring a restart.
However, the interview does not appear to be on the Hard Dri've.
    Would this interview be recoverable?

  • ICR: Deleting bad records in development system

we are testing FBICR process 003 in SAPKH60405. at some point we have changed the assignment of customers and vendors with respect to company codes. after multiple runs of FBIC023 and subsequent selection and assignment, the bad data (DR balance for a payable) is still showing up. we would like to avoid going to trx GCDE  and pick and choose spefic tables as there are other ledgers that get populated via GL/special ledger accounting document entries.
has anyone tried this scenario and can share their experience with the rest of the community?

    Hello Greg,
If you really want to clean up you should use GCDE and either specify the ICR ledger(s) on the first selection screen tab or use totals table FBICRC00*T on the second selection screen tab. The tables are not used in any other context.
If you do not want to go that far and it is enough for you to delete the line items and have the values in the totals tables reset to zero you can use programs FBICRC00*_DATA_DEL.
    Hope this helps,
    Ralph

  • REPORT ON PL/SQL TABLE OF RECORDS  on 6i & 9i

    HELLO ALL,
I Want to know if it is posible to build a report on pl/sql
table of records in developer 6i, or in 9i.
    thanks

This should not happen. If you are not sure that your stored procedure is bug-free, you could generate and use stored procedures using my SQLPlusPlus and give it a try.
You can email me directly if your problem still not gets solved.

  • Lightroom 4.4 crashed on Windows 7 Laptop, lost catalog info, won't import half my images.

Lightroom 4.4 crashed on Windows 7 Laptop today, lost catalog info, won't import half my images.
Not only is LR messed up, it deleted my day's shooting. Can't believe that.
Now it won't import (i.e. re-import) half my files.
Imported half, but had errors importing rest.
    Corrupt catalog?
When I try to import the folders, it recognizes that they are in the catalog (I have "don't import duplicates" turned on).
After running through all the folders, it says, "Nothing to Import."
    Any help?
    Best,
    Peter

    Thanks dj_paige.
I installed a plugin, coincidence makes me thinks this might have cause a LR4.4 crash.
After rebooting my windows 7 laptop, LR had lost record of half my directories on the external drive, as seen in Library Module.
In Windows Explorer, the folders and images are still there.
I tried recovering the lost folder references in LR by doing an import on the external hard drive again.
It took about a half hour to run.
There was a report screen at the end of the process that said that LR was unable to import something like 1500 images.
I did not save the report screen. Maybe it is part of a log file somewhere to give you what it exactly said?
I do not profess to understand how catalogues work under the covers.
I only use one catalog at this point.
My guess is at this point I should de-commission the catalog (whatever it takes to do that - delete it, etc.) and just do a new, fresh import on my images.
I don't feel I lose anthing this way - I can't see where I would lose anything important. About 5-10% of the RAW images were processed and exported to jpg, just for web use for casual viewing. The jpg's are all still on the external hard drive.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Peter

  • Development System Backup - Best Practice / Policy for offsite backups

Hi, I have not found any recommendations from SAP on best practices/recommendations on backing up Development systems offsite and so would appreciate some input on what policies other companies have for backing up Development systems. We continuously make enhancements to our SAP systems and perform daily backups; however, we do not send any Development system backups offsite which I feel is a risk (losing development work, losing transport & change logs...).
Does anyone know whether SAP have any recommendations on backuping up Development systems offsite? What policies does your company have?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Thomas,
Your question does not mention consideration of both sides of the equation - you have mentioned the risk only.  What about the incremental cost of frequent backups stored offsite?  Shouldn't the question be how the 'frequent backup' cost matches up with the risk cost?
I have never worked on an SAP system where the developers had so much unique work in progress that they could not reproduce their efforts in an acceptable amount of time, at a acceptable cost.  There is typically nothing in dev that is so valuable as to be irreplaceable (unlike production, where the loss of 'yesterday's' data is extremely costly).  Given the frequency that an offsite dev backup is actually required for a restore (seldom), and given that the value of the daily backed-up data is already so low, the actual risk cost is virtually zero.
I have never seen SAP publish a 'best practice' in this area.  Every business is different; and I don't see how SAP could possibly make a meaningful recommendation that would fit yours.  In your business, the risk (the pro-rata cost of infrequently  needing to use offsite storage to replace or rebuild 'lost' low cost development work) may in fact outweigh the ongoing incremental costs of creating and maintaining offsite daily recovery media. Your company will have to perform that calculation to make the business decision.  I personally have never seen a situation where daily offsite backup storage of dev was even close to making  any kind of economic sense.
    Best Regards,

  • Automatic start workflow for ALL records

    Hi Experts,
Does anyone know a way to start workflow automatically for ALL records without human interference?
I want to start workflows every day. For instance to recalculate, re-validate, re-assign or syndicate ALL records of a table.
    Kind regards,
    Job Jansen

    Hello Job Jansen
I suppose recalculate and validate all recodrs once a day don't make sense when that records is the same
    and records wasn't changing
However, you can use Autolaunch = Threshold with Max Time = 24 hour(for example)
workflow will fire when Max Time say greater then time last launched job.
    And few another ways:
    1) you can use task sheduler for launch import manager and turn autolaunch workflow when it do import
    2) turn automatic import process(MDIS) once a day and use workflow for add records
    3) developed Java application which used MDM JAVA API for start workflow
