Lost Remove Partition Recovery

Inside Recovery Manager Windows 7 starter, the recovery partition has been lost I did not unsderstand and I deleted it.How can I recover it, and get its back to my system? Please anyone help. Thank you!

The recovery partition can only be re-added by the computer manufacturer. I have not seen a recovery DVD that would re-create it for you. It is technically feasible to do it yourself but it would require you to acquire a duplicate system to yours. It may
just be easier to acquire the recovery DVD from the manufacturer so that you can recover in the future.

  • How can i completely remove the recovery partition?

Hi, i own an HP notebook model Pavilion 15-e070sl and i want to know how i can remove the recovery partition. I just performed a clean install from my System Recovery DVDs and i don't need the recovery partition anymore (since i got those DVDs), so i decided to delete it from the HP Recovery app; now the data has been deleted but i have a 17GB circa unallocated space on the disk, and i'd like to merge it with C to get some more space, but i don't know how to do it. I tried with thw windows disk management and i can't, i tried with easeus partition master but after moving those two little partitions before the unallocated space or even deleting them (see the pic http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/6928/1lge.png) i can't expand C: to get rid of the unallocated space.
    Any suggestion?

    Hi,
Assuming E: is the Recovery Partition. Please try:
Right-click Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management, then right-click the graphic of the E partition and select Delete. The partition returns to Unallocated for a Primary Partition or Free Space if it‘s a Logical Drive within an Extended Partition. Delete the partition if it is an Extended partition.
Now right-click the graphic of the C partition and select Extend.
Note: C and E must be sitting next to each other.
    Regards.

  • How do I remove partitions "PV2" and "Boot Camp"?

I tried installing Windows 7 in Boot Camp and lost power during install. I want to completely start over but have partitions "PV2" and "Boot Camp" that I can't seem to remove. I have tried to remove partitions in Disk Utility but everything is grayed out. Boot Camp Assistant says "The disk appears to have been partitioned by another utility and can't be removed."

When I boot to recovery (Command+R) it gives me four options: Restore with Time Machine Backup, Reinstall OS X, Get Help Online, and Disk Utility. I am assuming I should erase the drives usings Disk Utility. I am able to select the PV2 and Boot Camp but when I select the "partition" tab the +/- buttons on the bottom is grayed out. I am not sure how exactly to "erase the entire drive." If you couldn't tell, I am a novice imac owner. I did make a backup using Time Machine earlier today.

  • Lost the partition in Time Capsule

    Hi all,
I have a Time capsule from 2012 (the latest model) and I partitioned in the same year: 1TB for backups and 1TB to store my data.
Today I noticed that my Time capsule has recorded the last backup in January 2015 and it is no more partitioned. I did not change anything and now I have lost all my backups and ALL MY DATA form the partitioned part.
    Can somebody help?

Firstly a Time Capsule from 2012 is not the latest . It is gen4 A1409.. The latest is gen 5 A1470 and is the tall AC model.. It was released, mid 2013
Next it is not possible to truly partition a TC unless you remove the disk.. did you do that??
If not you partitioned the Time Machine Sparsebundle which is very bad.. or you are meaning something else by partition like you created a second virtual disk.
When you partitioned it.. and now lost the partition.. all that has happened is likely you lost the file name.
Have you done a full factory reset of the TC.. use all short names no spaces and pure alphnaumerics.. for everything.. base station name, wireless name and disk share name.. please do that.. no files are lost with this kind of reset.. if the file is still lost you will have to decide how important recovery is to you.. you cannot recover from a TC.. you need to open the TC and pull out the disk.. put it in a holder and plug into your computer via USB... then run a recovery software.. like data rescue 3.. quite expensive but it has a trial download to see if there is any point to it. You also have a better chance of finding your files.. If it is merely backups.. just make a new one and don't worry too much.
And do not partition the sparsebundle as that is really bad.

  • Removing partition

Have Mac Pro Quad 2.66 with 4 HD's and 5GB RAM.
    HD#1= 250GB OEM; HD #2=500GB with 2 equal partitions, 232 GB each (2A & 2B); HD#3=750GB; HD#4=750GB -used for Time Machine.
OEM HD#1 has Tiger 10.4OS+data and applications from previous iMac.
Installed 10.5 on first partition of #2 (2A). Now however I'd like to remove the partition on #2 as I currently only have 44GB left on first partition (out of 232). HD#2A has been backed up on HD#4 with Time machine.
Question: can I remove the partition on HD#2 without erasing OS 10.5 on HD 2A and all installed applications?
If not then I assume I can boot from 10.5 install DVD and install on HD#2 from HD#4 with data from TM. (Mac OS 10.5 Help "Recovering your entire system")
Is there an application that will let me remove partition without a fee, iPartition cost $50. Or as an alternative does OS 10.5 have a "remove partition" that destroys all data? If so I guess I can restore with Time Machine.
I'm a somewhat experience Mac user-6 years-but I'm a bit over my head on this issue(s). Any help would be appreciated.

Pull your #1 OEM and put it aside as your insurance. Or clone it to a FireWire drive.
Partitions are never perfect size. Leopard does allow for resizing to some degree. Of course you want backups. More than one hopefully.
I would think a 750GB drive would be idea for boot drive. Maybe half.
I prefer to keep the boot drive as just the OS/apps and keep data on 2nd drive.
A boot drive doesn't need to be more than 100-200GB but you also want a lot of room for burning DVDs and work, and just for performance, to never fill it beyond 50% either.
While moving things around, make sure you always still have your original boot drive and a recovery plan.
I'd get another drive for your OS. 10K Raptor ideally. Or another 750GB (it is nice to have drives of same size, make for moving things around, RAID, etc, as long as it is reliable).
You can't boot from an iMac system and you probably have the data backed up. And you could even put it on a sparse disk image on your TM volume. (I have three TM drives that I use and rotate, so if something happens I still have a backup of my backup).

  • Bootcamp won't let me remove partition without 10gb free space

I want to free up my mac by deleting the windows partition but boot camp won't let me because I don't have enough free space UGH! I can't get to the selection in boot camp that allows you to check "remove partition" because I keep getting a pop up window telling me I don't have 10 gb free space and therefore can't continue.  This is a real glitch. They shouldn't have the remove partition feature behind this minimum requirement.  Any suggestions around this? I've already deleted everything I can but don't want to keep trying to find more if someone has a better idea. Thanks.

  • Removing Partition Failed in WD External HD All The Time!

Have problem in removing partition in WD External 1 TB Hard Drive!
The Main 1 TB WD My Passport is showing Format in MS-DOS (FAT) while the two partition under it shows in Mac OS Extended (Journeled)!
I want to remove both partition and creat one portion in Mac Extended (Journeled) Format. Everytime I try to create 1 portition with Mac Extended (Journeled) Format it failed with showing " Partion Failed : couldn't unmount disk" message!
Is there anyone who is faced same issue and fix it?
    Thank you in Advance

In your second image it says…
You can't resize the partitions on this disk because it uses the Master Boot Record partition scheme.
So you will have to delete both partitions & recreate them as desired, losing any data on that disk. Are you sure that you need to use a MBR partition table? Have you got backups of this data on any other disks? Backup these volumes before you begin.
MBR is generally a Windows format for booting Windows OS's. Mac OS used 'GUID partition tables' by default & will allow resizing on GUID tables but not MBR ones.
If you want to repartition the disk with a GUID partition table try this…
Select each of the volumes in the sidebar & choose 'Unmount' in Disk Utility's toolbar ('02' and 'Mac OS' should become unmounted unless some process is using files on either volume). Note: 'volumes' are the indented items below the disk in the sidebar.
In the Partition tab, edit the 'partition layout' to create 2 volumes & resize them to whatever you need, also set the format & names etc.
Click the Options button & set the partition table to use 'GUID partition table'.
When you apply that the disk will be reformatted & the entire disk will have the data removed & new file systems will be written.
If you cannot get that to work, quit all other apps reboot & retry - that may stop other apps using any files on these volumes.

  • Advice on removing partitions on Ext HD

I'm using a 5TB external drive. I've partitioned it into 3 and have data saved on all 3 partitions. I now want to remove partitions 1 & 3 and allocate that space to the middle partition (2) without losing any of the data on partition 2. I am unclear as to whether I can do that using Disk Utility. Any advice???

So, essentially you want to change it back to a single partition disk?
I would recommend you copy the data you want to keep to another location or drive then re-format your 5TB external drive to a single partition volume.
You can then copy it back once the format is complete.
Any other method would be messy or would require 3rd party software. A re-format is by far the easiest and quickest solution.

  • Any Solution to Convert back USB recovery into Partition recovery

    Hello,
I bought DV6-6120us with 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium few months a go. I made USB Recovery disk with the help of HP USB recovery flash utility. some days later my hard drive stoped working due to soe bad segments.
I claimed for warrenty. they changed the Hard drive with some worng recovery partition. Now when i try to restore my laptop to fectory settings from USB but that dont work. Would you suggest me any solution for the problem. And is there any solution to convert my USB recovery back into Partition Recovery.
    Please Help me out.

    Thanks for the reply.
Obviously I am not getting this across correctly.
The recovery from the USB stick did NOT put back the hidden recovery partition. Checked in Computer manage, disk management,
    in the drive is
    1) simple basic recovery partition (no drive letter) size 1.46gig and free is 1.46gig.
    2) simple basic NTFS partition C drive. size 915gig free 841gig
    3) nothing! (in the original disk this was the 3rd partition containing simple basic no drive letter, it was the recovery partition. Now after the recovery process to return the PC back to manufacturer original it has created the 1 and 2 but NOT the 3 partition.
To carry out recovery by pressing the zero key is not possible from the currently installed HDD because there is no recovery partition. The C drive partition took all the space from after the 1.46gig partition 1 to the end of the disk. The Disk should have been returned to original status but it wasnt. A Toshiba utility to make recover disks when run reports there is NO recovery partition available and exits.
" the usage of recovery medium (disk or USb stick) would set the HDD back to factory settings". That did not happen. Would appears to be should have but DID NOT.
I appreciate the attempts to help but it seems I am stuck with keeping the USB stick as the OS recovery device.

  • Trouble Removing Partitions

Okay folks, I am trying to remove partitions from my hard drive that I made for when I installed Linux Mint on my machine last fall.
Awhile back, I uninstalled Mint per instructions, however, I have been stumped as to how to reclaim space for those partitions (about 140 GB)
I go into Disk Utility, select my Hitachi Drive, click the partitions I want to delete, and hit the minus button in Disk Utility, then click remove, btu the utility gets frozen in "preparing to remove volumes" and makes no progess from that point!
How do I fix this and get rid of these partitions so I can get that disk space back?

Get your files off and c boot off the installer disk and Disk Utility Erase with Zero and format the drive HFS+ journaled and reinstall OS X. You might as well fresh install Snow Leopard while your at it and can still get it from Apple (hurry once Lion is out your screwed!)
Next time look at using rEFIt and setting it up that way it's a EFI program, there are uninstall instructions too.

  • I lost all the recovery partition to recovery mac mini from beginning, what do I need to do? please help

I lost all my partitions to recovery my mac mini server, what do I need to do to put them back on? help Thanks

Did your Mac Mini come pre-installed with Mountain Lion? If so, use Internet Recovery (Command+Option+R) keys at restart. You should see a spinning globe. This will boot into Apple's server Recovery HD and let you reinstall ML. So, you will need an Internet connection. Your apps and data will not be touched as this will just install the OS on top of itself.
Backup your system first before doing the above.
