LOV & Query in Forms 10g not working

Hi All,
I have a strange problem with custom forms that i am developing using Dev Suite 10g (10.1.2) for Oracle AS 10g (10.1.2.0.2).
When i test the form in DevSuite the LOVs in the form are working properly, but after i deploy the form on the server and use the default config the LOVs stop showing up.
The same happens with Execute Query. There is no error message displayed either.
Since the jiniitator was downloaded from the same server, so that cannot be the problem.
The version of java used is also the same, 1.4.2.
I have no idea why the forms are behaving like this on the server. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Arun

I was able to get the trace file from the FRD.
Please see below for the trace file of the form.

  • Oracle Forms 10G not working as Oracle Forms 6i

    Hi everyone,
    I have a form which gets called from another form through a list of value. The called form(second form) has a group of tabbed canvases which get displayed depending on the parameters passed from the first form.
    The Form is working prefectly fine in Forms 6i but when I converted the same form in to forms 10G it does not seem to work the same way. The tabbed canvasses are not getting displayed. I am manually having to press the execute query to get data displayed in the tabbed canvasses. I checked the parameters that are being passed and they are the same as that in Forms 6i.
    Please let me know where my 10G Form is going wrong. Appreciate your help, please send me an email on [email protected]
    Thanks

    :System.message_level has nothing to do with how you check the flow of execution, or whether you use the Message statement. :System.Message_Level is a Forms variable that can be set to a numeric value. If you set it > 0, it hides error messages, which you should NOT do. Is there anywhere in your form where it is set? If there is, make sure it is set to zero while you are testing.
    <P>Since you are using regular message statements to debug (Re: Zdebug -- Download a Forms debugging message tool), you should determine if the process that sets up the tabbed canvases is being executed.

  • Form is not working of multiple form check boxs, source posted. HELP.

    Form is not working of multiple form check boxs, source posted. HELP.
    I'm trying to have golive form be able to check one, two or all of the options in Graphics field.
    As is it will only post results from the last checked box.
    Here's the page
    http://www.perfection-press.com/Pages/ContactForm.html
    Here's where source in golive has scanning,design,filesupplied.
    [code removed to fix forum topic display]

    Since the checkboxes all have the same name, the values are over-writing each other when being passed to the PHP script. The best way to fix that is to add a pair of empty square [] brackets after the checkbox names, so make the names "graphics[]" instead of "graphics". That tells PHP that the values are being passed as a list (an array) instead of a single value. As long as your processing script knows what to do from there (and it does), should solve the problem.
    By the way, I noticed that two of the checkboxes were named "graphics" and the other was "graphic" (singular). You'll want to fix that too so they're all the same.

  • My 'contact' form is not working.  When I send a test contact it returns to my adobe email account this: "Contact Form" has a new form submission.

    My 'contact' form is not working.  When I send a test contact it returns to my adobe email account this:
    "Contact Form" has a new form submission.

    What exactly is not working ? As you have mentioned form submission notification is received in your email account so form process is working I believe but you want the notifications to go to another email account I think.
    Have you added the email address in "Email to" field in form options ? If yes and then also you are not receiving the form , then please provide me the site url and post a screenshot or form with option box open.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Forms Personalization not working after R12 upgrade

    Hi,
    We have recently upgraded to R12. We have forms personalizations on the People, Enter and Maintain form and this is not working now after the R12 upgrade.
    I went to one of the form personalizations and Validated and Applied again but it still did not work. I also created a new one but had no success with that either.
    Any ideas how to get this working again ? Is there something extra that needs to be done for R12?
    Thanks
    Regards,

    Pl indicate which version of R12 and on what form you had the personalization in the previous version. Have you checked FND_FORM_CUSTOM_% tables to ensure that the personalization survived the upgrade ?

  • Form does not work

    Hi
    I use Adobe Livecycle Designer7.0 English and Acrobat7.0.8 Japanese. I made forms to upload to Workflow Server. One form I made does not work at all when the form is opened in the Form Manager.
    It is strange that the PDF preview of the Designer works well.
    1. Page Counter
    In the master page of the form I set a page counter field from the custom library. In the preview it works well but when the form is opened from Form Manager it does not work. It looks like "Page ##/##".
    2. Font is not shown
    I put a button in the form. The font of the button is set to "MS UI Gothic", but when the form is opened from Form Manager the font of the button is "KozukaMincho".
    3. JavaScript does not work
    I wrote javascript to change the caption of fields like this.
    ----- form1.#subform[0].Button1::click - (Javascript, client)
    FieldA.rawValue = "test";
    FieldB.rawValue = "test2";
    This script does not work too when the form is opened.
    These issues are basic but I do not know where is wrong. Because no error message appears when I test the form in the PC.
    Please advise about these issues.
    Thanks,
    Akira

    Hi Jared,<br /><br />I am very glad to read your reply. <br />I added a button with the script you wrote in previous reply and found that Form Manager changed the root tag. <br /><br />The xsd file I define to the data is like this<br /><br />b <Message>  //rootnode name <br /><br /> <Heade></Header><br /> <Contents><br />  <FieldA></FieldA><br />  ......<br /> </Contents><br /> <Footer><Footer><br /></Message><br /><br />So, I set the structure of the form like this.<br /><br />b <Message>          //This is name of contents area<br /><br /> <Header></Header> //Subform name<br /> <Contents>        //Subform name<br />  <FieldA></FieldA><br />   ......<br /> </Contents><br /> <Footer></Footer> // Subform name<br /></Message> <br /><br />But the saveXML script write out like this:<br /><br />b <fields><br /><br /> <Header></Header><br /> <Contents><br />  <FieldA></FieldA><br />  ......<br /> </Contents><br /> <Footer></Footer><br /></fields> <br /><br />So I changed all of the Javascript using relative path and I upload this form again to the FM, but this form does not work...<br />I am not sure that it must be the same name between the rootnode of the xsd file and the name of the contents area. <br /><br />Jared and all, would you let me know whatever you find about this issues.<br /><br />Best regards,<br />Akira

  • Webi report on OLAP Bex query -  Cost element Hierarchy not working Drill down

    Hello,
    We have a BO report on Bex query, Not on universe, we have a Hierarchy for Cost Element Group, and we are expecting the Drill down functionality for that in BO report, but it does not.
    Webi report on OLAP Bex query -  Cost element Hierarchy not working Drill down
    Any pointers how to do it please
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Hi,
    WebI reports on BEx source don't use same Drill feature as other sources, it's replaced by expland/collapse of hierarchy nodes (documented in WebI user guide in § "24.1 Drill defined"). This means you have to create query which selects all hierarchy sub-tree you plan on exploring later in report, otherwise if no data is available under a node there will be no '+/-' sign to visit this part of tree.
    You could try first to select "All members" from hierarchy in QueryPanel and see if behavior in report suits your needs. Then you should restrict hierarchy member selection to what's really needed to avoid performance issues.

  • HTML 5 Contact Form "Placeholder" instead of label makes form validation not work

    Hi,
    I am trying to implement a HTML 5 contact form which uses a "placeholder" within the field instead of a label. But now the form validation does not work.
    The site is at http://www.partnerrealestate.ch/avenuedefrance23/index.html and it is not using any workflows from BC as the person receiving it is an external person and the process does not require a workflow.
    Would appreciate any input into this.
    Kindest Regards,
    corina

    There is no label on input fields. The form does not work because you have edited the names. BC needs the ID and names to be as it is issue when you create the form so it knows what to use for the validation and what information to pass into the database.
    So where you have edited these, you need to restore those.
    You have some invalid html on some input's as well one has input="" inside of it when rendered so that is not right.
    It is not to do with placeholder use. So fix up your HTML errors, correct the name and ID changes and it will work fine.

  • LOV single selection list is not working in my JDeveloper 10.1.2.3

    Hi!
    I'm stumped with this. I'm also new to JDeveloper. I used the sample tutorial from the OTN website entitled "JSPDataBoundLists.jws" to learn how to create drop-down lists in JDeveloper.
    My problem is I created a single selection list LOV from DepartmentListView Data Control and pasted it into an EmployeesView Input form. This is so I can just select the Department names to populate the DepartmentID field in Employees table. I setup the data binding in the UI Model of my jsp using the "List Binding Editor". I checked the UIModel file and it looks as follows:
    <DCControl
    id="DepartmentId2"
    SubType="DCListSingleSel"
    IterBinding="EmployeesViewIterator"
    DTClass="oracle.adf.dt.objects.JUDTCtrlListLOV"
    ApplyValidation="false"
    isDynamic="false"
    ListOperMode="0"
    ListIter="DepartmentsListViewIterator" >
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="DepartmentId" />
    </AttrNames>
    <ListAttrNames>
    <Item Value="DepartmentId" />
    </ListAttrNames>
    <ListDisplayAttrNames>
    <Item Value="DepartmentName" />
    </ListDisplayAttrNames>
    </DCControl>
    I run the jsp, selected a value from the drop-down list, do a submit and do a commit, but the DepartmentId from the DepartmentsListView was not stored in Employees. What is wierd here is that there is an exact same single selection list defined a row above mine which is working fine. How come that one is working and mine is not?

    Eureka! I finally found the answer to my own question!
    This simple problem of adding a drop-down list into a jsp page cost me 3 whole days (around 24 full working hours) to find the answer. Normally it only takes me a few minutes with the other web app languages I've learned. And I just stumbled into the answer just a few minutes ago (maybe all thanks should be given to God whom let me stumble into the answer since me and my wife have been praying for several weeks now ever since I started trying to learn Oracle JDeveloper. It is really very very difficult and time consuming to learn compared to other web app languages and tools).
    Anyway, the reason why my LOV does not work in my jsps using JDeveloper 10.1.2.3 is because JDeveloper 10.1.2.3 seems to allow only one input-form-element for the same field of the input table!
    For example, what happened to me was I had an input form created for the Employees table in the HR schema. I did this simply by drag-and-drop from the "Data Control Palette". This feature I like very much with JDeveloper. It is really easy and works instantly. And then, I drag-and-drop the departmentname field from the Departments table as a "single selection list" into the jsp and setup its bindings. So when I run the jsp, viola! The drop-down list does not populate the DepartmentId field of the Employees table. IT DOES NOT WORK! I've tried reinstalling both JDev and Oracle db and JDKs to no avail! I tried posting in this forum to no avail! I tried experimenting with newly created jsps to no avail! Then suddenly after repeatedly experimenting on this on different tutorials, guides and my own web app, it works! Why did it work? It was because I tried to add an LOV-single-selection-list on another sample tutorial with a READ-ONLY FORM on the jsp! Thus only the LOV is the input-form-element in the jsp for the table's field.
    So why can't you find such a simple and basic fact anywhere in the web, the tutorials, guides or the forum? I do not know. Maybe only I am using such an old version of JDev? But what about the users who used it when it just got out a couple of years ago? Didn't they have the same problem? Anyway, it seems like the answer to a lot of my simple basic questions about JDeveloper is not documented, or is buried very deep beneath all the other words of all these documents. Hopefully JDeveloper's documentations would get a lot easier to use very very soon!

  • Sorting on date (date_popup2) in manual tabular form does not work

    Hi All,
    I created a manual tabular form (based on a collection) with 1 date_popup2 field in it. This field is defined in the query as follows:
    ,      apex_item.date_popup2( p_idx                   => 18
                                , p_value                 => c004
                                , p_date_format           => 'dd-mm-yyyy'
                                , p_item_id               => 'f18_' || lpad (rownum, 4, '0')
                                , p_item_label            => 'Start date'
                                ) as tf_br_start_date
    In the report attributes I marked this column to be sortable.
    However, in the page the sorting is not working. It looks like it's always sorted in the order  of the seq_id.
    Can anyone tell me how to solve this?
    Regards,
    René

    I'd call it a bug/missing feature.
    It appears that within a Basic report, sorting on a column created using APEX_ITEM.DATE_POPUP2() does not sort by date.
    I'd file this with Oracle Support and see what they say.
    Include a link to this thread and your workspace login information.
    I got something to work by: (probably not what you want.)
    using the C004 column directly. (I just added it to the SQL code)
    setting the column's attribute "Display As" to "Date Picker"
    setting the column's attribute "Number /Date Format" to DD-MM-YYYY
    I suspect: since you don't start with p_idx => 1, this column becomes "1" ==> g_f01

    Rather than reinventing the wheel, I tend to use SpryValidation widgets to validate the form using JavaScript. However, to ensure that no validation is untouched, you also need to validate the inputs using serverside script.
    The example that you have shown is valiadtion in JavaScript. This means that anyone with JS turned off will bypass your validation.

  • Raise Trigger form failure not working

    Hi everybody,
    I'm working with form builder 10g. And in my form, I have a button for save.
    The issue is that I have a validation in the pre-insert trigger of a block where I am validating a particular record and in my preinsert trigger on a given condition, I'm raising a Form_trigger_failure.
    Even when the condition is encountered in my pre-insert the flow of the program in not stopping.
    But when I'm clicking on the default save button on the toolbar.. the flow of the program is stopped.
    Here is the code on my save button:
    :system.message_level:=5;
    commit_form;
    :system.message_level:=0;
    IF Form_Success THEN
    message('saved succesfully');
    else
    RAISE form_trigger_failure;
    END IF;

    Hi,
    I have same issue, have you got any solution,
    I have in my pre-insert trigger
    if NVL (:COUNT_HEADER, 0) <= 0 THEN
         Msg_Alert ('Enter Call Details !','I',FALSE);
         RAISE Form_Trigger_Failure;
    else
         select nvl(max(HCH_CALL_ID),0)+1 into :HCH_CALL_ID
                   from HLP_CALL_HEADER;
         Msg_Alert ('The generated Call ID:'||:HCH_CALL_ID,'I',FALSE);
                   :HCH_ORGN := :Global.orgn;
                   :HCH_CRT_ON := sysdate;
                   :HCH_UPD_ON := sysdate;
                   :HCH_CRT_BY := :Global.usr;
                   :HCH_UPD_BY := :Global.usr;
    end if;Even though the alert, 'Enter Call Details', is shown, the flow of the form is not getting stopped.
    it seems Raise Form_trigger_Failure is not working
    I have in key-comit trigger
    commit_form;
      IF FORM_SUCCESS THEN
           msg_alert('form success','I',FALSE);
         CLEAR_FORM(NO_VALIDATE);
         EXECUTE_TRIGGER('PRE-FORM');
      END IF;and it shows form success
    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks

  • Insert in Tabular form does not work after the upgrade to APEX 4.0

    Hi all,
    Thx in advance for looking into the issue.
    We are running into following issue when we upgraded APEX 3.2 to APEX 4.02
    1) The Tabular form insert does not work.
    2) We are fatching the value of the Global variable APEX_APPLICATION.g_XXXX in a procedure and we get null for this value after submit for new row to be inserted.
    The tabular form was working fine in APEX 3.2.
    The Update and Delete works just fine.
    Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thx and regards,
    Mahesh

    Here is my workaround to get the ADDROW/SUBMIT working again if you have a legacy Tabular Form:
    1     PAGE ATTRIBUTES
              JAVASCRIPT
              FUNCTION AND GLOBAL VARIABLE DECLARATION
                   var htmldb_delete_message='"DELETE_CONFIRM_MSG"';
    2     DELETE BUTTON
              ACTION WHEN BUTTON CLICKED
              URL Target          change to
                   javascript:apex.confirm(htmldb_delete_message,'MULTI_ROW_DELETE');
    3     ADDROW BUTTON
              ACTION WHEN BUTTON CLICKED
              Action
                   redirect to URL
              URL Target
                   javascript:addRow();
    4     PROCESS
              APPLYMRU (activitated by button ADDROW)
              CONDITION
                   never or delete
    5     PROCESS
              ADDROWS
              CONDITION
                   never or delete
    6     CHANGE PAGE TEMPLATE to e.g. THEME 13 One Level Tabs.
    7     IF YOU WANT ADD FUNCTIONALITY TO GOTO BOTTOM OF PAGE AFTER ADDROW
         1. In the page footer put <a name="bottom_of_page"></a>
         2. Amend the action when the "ADD" button is clicked to scroll down to the new region by doing the following:
         - edit "ADD" button
         - Go to "Action when button Clicked" section
         - Amend "URL Target" from
         javascript:addRow();
         to
         javascript:addRow();window.location='#bottom_of_page' ;
    regards
