Sun ONE not seeing classes?

Hello all,
I recently installed Sun ONE as a programming environment on my machine. I am currently doing an assignment for school and I have three .java files in a directory called A1. I have compiled the files successfully before with Sun ONE but now I've made a few changes to one of the files and it doesn't seem to recognize one of the other classes in the directory. The class that is not being recognized is a pretty simple class called "Time" and this is a sample of the errors I get when trying to compile:
A1/TimeInterval.java [11:1] cannot resolve symbol
symbol : class Time
location: class TimeInterval
private Time start;
^
The Time class was provided by my school so I don't think it's an issue with that. There's now a little "IOIOIOIII" icon by my changed java file. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated as I'm sure it's something simple that I'm overlooking =]
Thanks
Tyler

I downloaded and installed the j2sdk1-4-1/S1 exe.....I
figured that's all I would need to do?No, you need to complete the installation instructions to be able to use Java the way most people learn it. I think you have done everything up till step 5:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/install-windows.html
I'm sure S1 is a great tool but now it seems to get on the way a little and when a tool gets on the way you should try to use another tool.

  • Jdeveloper does not see classes

    Hi,
I try to extend one of controllers of the page
    /oracle/apps/ar/creditmgt/application/webui/ARCMCREDITAPPPAGE
There are controllers on the page:
    oracle.apps.ar.creditmgt.application.webui.creditAppContentFooterCO
    oracle.apps.ar.creditmgt.application.webui.creditApplicationPageCO
    oracle.apps.ar.creditmgt.application.webui.creditAppRegion2CO
    oracle.apps.ar.creditmgt.application.webui.creditApplicationCO
    oracle.apps.ar.creditmgt.application.webui.creditAppRegion1CO
    oracle.apps.ar.creditmgt.application.webui.creditAppBusBackCO
    oracle.apps.ar.creditmgt.application.webui.OCMApplicantInfoRNCO
According to this tutorial http://robertjungerius.blogspot.com/2010/08/extending-controller-in-oa-framework.html I have downloaded *.class files from
    $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/ar/creditmgt/application/webui to
    JDEV_USER_HOME\myclasses\oracle\apps\ar\creditmgt\application\webui
The problem is what when I try to create new class in Jdeveloper, there is a button to browse an CO to extend, and there are only some (5 from 88) of the CO from JDEV_USER_HOME\myclasses\oracle\apps\ar\creditmgt\application\webui.
Unfortunately I can not find the CO I need to extend.
Does anyone encountered this problem ?
    Kind regards,
    Marcin

    Hi guys,
    I want to extend creditAppRegion1CO.
    I have 68 classes in DEV_USER_HOME\myclasses\oracle\apps\ar\creditmgt\application\webui
    including creditAppRegion1CO.class.
In JDeveloper I right click on the project and choose "New Class". In "New Class" window I have 3 fields - Name, Package and Extends. Next to Extends field there is Browse... button. When I use this button to choose class to extend there are only 5 classes in the node oracle > apps > ar > creditmgt > application > webui. There is no creditAppRegion1CO.
    Is it bug ?
    Kind regards,
    Marcin

  • Anyone still not seeing the update?

I feel like I'm the only one not seeing the 4.x update...!?!! It's still telling me that 3.2.2 is the updated version (I'm currently on 3.2.1) instead of letting me know about 4.2.1!!
It's been almost 24 hours since the release, and it seems like everyone else has it....??

Thanks for this! I was getting thrown off by the fact that every time I would launch iTunes/connect iPad, the (outdated) message would pop up and I thought it was checking for updates at that moment.
    Downloading 4.2 now....

  • Oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver not found in Sun ONE Studio

I get this message when I try to connect to the database while creating an EJB. I have tried adding the path to my CLASSPATH, and to adding it to the various CLASSPATHs within Sun ONE Studio. IDE_HOME is defined correctly but OracleDriver.class is still not found. Anyone know what my problem might be?
    Thanks,

    Hi Sujatha,
Thanks for responding. My CLASSPATH is as follows:
    madonna% echo $CLASSPATH
    /export/oracle/jdbc/lib:/export/oracle/jlib:/export/oracle/jsp/lib:/export/oracle/sqlj/lib/runtime.zip:/export/oracle/oem_webstage:/export/oracle/lib/aurora_client.jar:/export/oracle/jdbc/lib/classes12.zip:/export/oracle/sqlj/lib/translator.zip:/export/oracle/sqlj/lib/runtime12.jar:/export/oracle/lib/vbjorb.jar:/export/oracle/lib/vbjapp.jar:/export/oracle/lib/mts.jar:/export/oracle/javavm/lib/aurora.zip:/export/oracle/javavm/utl/ejb/lib/vbj30ssl.jar:/export/oracle/jlib/javax-ssl-1_2.jar:/export/oracle/jlib/jssl-1_2.jar:/export/oracle/lib/servlet.jar:/export/oracle/lib/http_client.jar:/export/oracle/lib/http_server.jar:/export/oracle/oem_webstage/oracle/jdbc/OracleDriver.class:/export/oracle:/export/oracle/jdbc/lib/nls_charset12.jar
Which as you can see includes classes12.zip and /export/oracle/oem_webstage/oracle/jdbc/OracleDriver.class
I have also set all the IDE internal classpath variables to the same settings. It has no effect. I still get the same message.

  • FedEx Sun One server does not allow POST

    Hello,
I am attempting to communicate with FedEx's Direct XML Track. They use a Sun One Server v. 6.1 w/ SSL. When I do a POST with my XML document, I get back a 504, Method Not Allowed. Have communicated with FedEx technical support to no avail. Have downloaded server 6.1 and installed, trying to reverse-problem solve. Cannot see anywhere in the server where POSTs might be set to prohibited. The FedEx documentation specifically says to use a POST, which of course makes sense. Has anyone successfully used FedEx XML Direct, and/or could supply me with a hint as to why this might be happening? Also, am URL-encoding the reuest. Here's the code:

Couldn't you download the netscape.ldap package (iPlanet LDAP SDK) and put its jars in your app classpath?
The suggested way to replace netscape.ldap package is to use only JNDI calls, but maybe they can not fulfill all your needs.
By the way, you can get the source code for that package in Mozilla.org site.
(Note: if you are using Netscape LDAP SDK for parsing/generating ASN.1 streams including X.509 certificates, try using BouncyCastle instead of netscape.ldap.ber.stream package - I had to modify several classes from Netscape's package that is not meant to handle certificates, but LDAP streams...)

  • Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte: How to set the output path for classes ?

    Help !
    Beginner's question:
Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte:
How to set the output path for classes ?
As default, the class files are created in the same directory as the
    sources.
In opposite, both JBuilder and Together support that there is a tree
with the sources and another tree with the classes.
The first answer I got was "not possible with Forte, but just if you write your own "ANT Build script" !
    a) Please point me to a ready-to-use ANT script for this purpose, if such is available
    b) Is using ANT instead of the MAKE as comfortable ? Besides the separation of sourcecode and classes, I would like to keep everything else to be the same, i.e. I dont want to edit the ANT file if I enlarge the project by directories or files.
    Tia
    Sincerely
    Rolf

You can set S1S's options to place newly created .class files in a specific location.
Identify the compiler that is being used - Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Editing and select Java Sources. Note the Default Compiler value. (If it's one if the Ant options, you use Ant to specify this option, not S1S.)
Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Building/Compiler Types and select the appropriate compiler.
The Properties tab of the compiler has the property Target, which sets the filesystem where the compiler output is directed. If you choose <not set>, the .class files are written to their source directory.
When you set the Target, your change affects all classes that use this compiler.
Very few options can't be set in S1S; the challenge is finding out where they're set!

    Afternoon All,
I am using the latest CR4Ev2.
Java 1.6 (Am very sure but will double check)
My Windows enviroment is all working perfectly and so have moved my application over to a Linux setup.
After solving all my case-sensitivity issues I have managed to get my reports almost working. (I hope almost)

    reportClientDocument.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
    reportClientDocument.open(reportFilePath,OpenReportOptions._openAsReadOnly);

Now it could just be as simple as we dont have a printer setup on that box.
Is this a definate requirement. Does the server have to have a printer setup, even if we are only exporting to PDF files.
I am still doing some testing and since it is the first time getting this far on Linux it might be mistakes on my side,
but thought I would ask the wide world and see what replies I get back.
    Cheers

Sorry for the bump but wanted to change the subject to something more enticing

After many many hours of reading and pulling my hair out I have found a solution to my problem,
Whether it is a valid solution or a workaround or a cheat I am hoping someone can tell me.
If I run my application with the switch
    java -jar -Djava.awt.headless=true MyApp.jar
    It works.
Now I am still doing some investigation on what exactly this headless switch is doing. But it works so I am happy.
If anyone can give me a technical and or a laymans explanation that would be great.
All I have to do now is solve my Font issue
    Cheers

  • Location of class storage on Sun one

    Hi all,
I am not a java programmer and I am supposed to post a questionnaire using jps files and Java classes.
The original code were delevoppped for appache and I would like to put them on a website using Sun One server.
The java classes were stored in the default location WEB-INF/classes/ directory in the file on the original setup.
But on our server, the system is not able to locate the java classes.
Does someone know where the default location are for the Sun One classes, and where this path is located ?
    Thanks for your help.

Do you by any chance mean JSPs? And why don't you deploy your stuff in a WAR and stop worrying?

  • Problems with Sun One Web Server 6.1 javax.xml.xpath package not found

I used myeclipse to build an xml app and tested on jboss. it worked perfectly. However when i deployed it to our solaris sun one web server the app fell apart completely with the following error. I m unable to figure out what went wrong. Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I tried to use xalan package which resolved the javax.xml.xpath package not found error (xalan.jar in WEB-INF/lib folder). However I m now getting the following error. Probably incompatible version is the reason. Please advise!
