Low Memory Footprint JVM needed, Please suggest.

Hi guys,
I want a light weight (low memory footprint) Java Virtual Machine compatible with Java 1.5. It should be open source. Can anybody suggest me please. I've googled and tried to use some JVMs like Kaffe and SableVM. But I want some reliable VM.

When a file url is clicked instead of asking for Save or Open or Cancel options, the file gets opened on IPad by default.
Is this default behaviour which cannot be changed or can it be configured to ask user preference?
When we try to download a file(.pvw file -> a model file) in the above application, safari throws "Download failed" error.
Please suggest what needs to be done.

Safari on an iPad in general does not allow downloading of files. That's a safety precaution in the iOS SDK to keep unauthorized content off of iOS devices. Safari will open from the web site file types that it can handle, but direct downloading isn't normal behavior, and I don't believe the behavior can be changed, though you can try asking in the developer forum, either here or the one to which you have access as a member of Apple's iOS developer program.

I have a internal table IT_INPUT which includes multiple cost centers . Now for all entries in IT_INPUT-COst center i want to selct the records from COP table. The issue i am fasing is - Cost center is concatenated with some other values and stored in OBJNR field of COSP table like ex KSSPS1SF518 (SF518 is a cost center here, thease fields are of variable lenth)
ex :

You can use the code a little modification of a above code...
we will concatenate 2 * before and after the cost center. this will allow us to get the right result

Requirment:
Need to check if a numeric value is within a number range by using comparative function. Depending on status i need to ggive a constant input to numeric function.

Try doing these steps:
Install Firefox 11 from [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com]. simply install it over your current version of Firefox to make sure all Windows Registry settings get recreated correctly.
Run all Windows Updates. Service packs, etc. You may have to run this several times to ensure that you get all needed updates.
Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

If Firefox works find in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
If it does not help the issue, open up your Firefox Profile. [[Backing up your information|Backing up your information]] shows you where that is stored by default. Delete or rename the "pluginreg.dat" file (make sure Firefox is closed when you do this). Test again.

Most usb ports do not provide enough power to charge your ipad, plug into a wall outlet to charge. If you leave it plugged into the computer and the computer goes to sleep, it can actually drain the battery.

Need to apply Batch split for deliveries.Please suggest

I had tried to apply batch split for delivery using the function module 'BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE'.After running the program i get a message saying 'Batch split is done for a decentralised system - WMS' and the delivery can be seen only in display mode where the change is disabled.
Please suggest solution to apply batch split and view it normally.

Reducing JVM memory footprint

I want to deploy what may turn out to be a JavaSpaces application on some Windows PC clients. These clients will receive event notifications from a central server and then pop up a GUI for the user to respond to. These clients may be memory-limited and am worried about deploying a J2SE runtime purely for this application and eating up 30+Mb of RAM.
J2ME runtime seemed like it offered hope as regards reducing memory footprint but doesn't really seem aimed at a standard PC.
Does anyone have any advice as to which direction I should go in as regards JRE ?

I haven't checked into it thoroughly, but I've heard repeatedly that 1.4 has a smaller ram footprint. It is still in beta, so that may not be the way you want to go, but you still may want to look into it.

Low Memory/Crash problem with Premiere Elements 8

I am having a problem when editing a project in Premiere Elements 8. I can only edit for about 5 minutes and I get an error from the program saying the program is low on system memory and I need to save and proceed with caution. Within a minute or two of this error appearing, the program shuts down. This has happened when working with projects that use .MTS and .AVI files in the same project.

I am using VT1 and AT1 with video and titles created in Premiere.
Problems occur when moving clips in project or trimming video.

I started a new app today and got the following message:
Low Memory Warning
Air Harp has detected your device is

No problem occurred. I think Stanza may have been using memory - I really don't know how to tell what's using memory.
How do I tell what needs to be shut down?

Looks to me as though you don't enough enough physical RAM to run as many processes as you currently are. 2GB of RAM is pretty low these days. Do me a favor and -- click Start -- Type
MSconfig in the search bar and press enter -- Click the
startup tab and see how many programs are checked to start on bootup. You can uncheck ones that you don't need running all the time. That should free up some memory to keep you going for a bit. But a permanent fix would be to increase your
physical RAM.
EDIT: Switching to basic desktop will reduce the amount of RAM needed to run Windows, which is why you haven't gotten the problem since.

"Low Memory Warning" and "fails to create a virtual machine"

From ide.conf, I learnt:
If you are getting the 'Low Memory Warning' Message Dialog while running JDeveloper, please increase the -Xmx value below from the default 768M to something greater, like 1024M or 1250M. If after increasing the value, JDeveloper is no longer starting up because it fails to create a virtual machine, then please reduce the modified -Xmx value.
However,
If I set it to a bigger value, say 512M, it fails to create a virtual machine.
If I set it to a smaller value, say 400M, it throws Low Memory Warning after a short while.
So I do not know how to do. Total physical memory of my box is 4G. Free physical user memory after starting jdev is 1.5G.

512M isn't bigger, the default (according to your reading) is 768M...
I just tried with JDeveloper 11.1.2.2.0 (64-bit machine, but using 32-bit JVM) - works fine with 1024M - just to confirm that my changes are working, 5024M does give me "unable to create virtual machine"
Have you messed about with other settings?
