LPX Delayed Execution of Actions

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I so, I could not find it as a topic...
I'm finding that once there are a few tracks and plugins active there is a delay in Logic Pro x's responsiveness.
Grab some tracks and shift them on the timeline and I see a spinning ball and then Logic will exceute this task only after a delay.
Same with simple scissor snips or pressing a key command for a different zoom mode.
I've not seen this type of behaviour in any other DAW.
Is this normal or a bug to be fixed in the next update?

The printf output is probably just being delayed until the application exits -- most likely it's being buffered, and when the application exits the buffer is being flushed.
To see if the C function is getting executed properly, have it return a specific value that you can display or check in your Java code.
Otherwise, you could try flushing stdout immediately after calling printf.

Behavior of "Stop Filter Execution" filter action

What is the intended behavior of the "Stop Filter Execution" filter action? I cannot find any recent documentation on that issue. When part of manually run filters, is "Stop Filter Execution" designed to stop all remaining filters for all messages if the filter that contains it matches once? That appears to be the behavior for me. When included in the first filter of several filters, only the first filter matches and the log only indicates instances of matching of the first filter, although several other subsequent filters should match for several messages that do not match the first filter.
I appreciate the functionality of Thunderbird's filters, but am trying to find a solution for implementing more complex boolean logic for moving messages from my Inbox using manually run filters. I have several filters set up for categorizing messages, but I would like to implement the filters such that they are not applied to starred messages. Currently, I have logic in most of the filters to not match a starred message by using the "Match all of the following" option, however this prevents use of OR logic in the filter and leads to an increased number of filters. I would like to set up the filters such that a first filter matches starred messages and prevents the remaining filters from being run only for those messages which match the first filter.
It may be that the behavior that I am seeing is a bug specific to my installation, but I'd like to get confirmation on the expected behavior and see if others have encountered this issue. I am working under the assumption that the behavior of "Stop Filter Execution" should stop subsequent filter processing only for messages on which a containing filter matches as indicated in the old post at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.feedback.thunderbird.prerelease/rUXaQ0NdZvM, but that assumption may be wrong.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Mystery box appears and also automatic execution of actions

I have OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2
I downloaded the latest security path on March 10. Since the download, a box will appear on screen displaying "BACK, RELOAD PAGE, etc. I have to click on a blank space on the screen to make box disappear or wait until it disappears. I am also experiencing automatic execution of actions. For example, cursor is position over a box that I can check or not check. A check mark will automatically be entered. If the cursor is positioned over a Email, it will automatically display the Email with no action on my part.
I have searched through System Preferences but cannot find any action or do not understand some of the options.
This is a real pain and need a solution to this problem. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

Sharepoint Designer workflow takes long time for execution of action

Hi All ,
I have created declarative workflow using SharePoint designer 2010.which is getting executed successfully,But taking lot of time for execution.
Below are details of it
workflow contains only one activity "assign Task to User" and workflow will start automatically after uploading document.
workflow takes 10 minutes to create task for user , 10 minutes to claim task and 10 minutes to execute if any action(Approve or Reject) is taken on task.
no error in log file or event log related to workflow.
options tried:
1.I have tried options suggested in article(http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/251828/How-to-Improve-Workflow-Performance-in-SharePoint#_rating ),but no luck
2. Reduced the interval of worflow timer job to 1 from 5 .still no luck
Any thoughts regarding this would be appreciated.

Delaying execution until a specified time

All,
I am developing a web application using Java servlets (no JSPs). What I have been trying to accomplish is to pass a date in a specified format to a servlet, have the servlet parse the date, and then upon that specified date complete its actions. The passing of the date and parsing works fine, and I can actually get the difference between the specified date and the current date and execute a Thread.currentThread().sleep(difference), but this only seems logical for dateTimes that are fairly close to the current dateTime. This method would obviously not be useful if one wanted to send a date three months from now to this servlet. My question therefore is, Is there a better way to accomplish this?

I believe that this will work, but it essentially has the same issue of as I am facing in that it would not be very useful in scheduling a task three months from any given date, because internally it uses the Object.wait(long) method for a given Thread. This would mean, if i am thinking correctly, that my servlet would have to be executed in a browser that would need to be open constantly until execution (three months)? If this is not the case, then please correct me. OItherwise, I may have to take this particular functionality out of a servlet and place it in a stand alone app.

Can I control the execution of Action from ICSS / ICWebCleint

We are using ICWebclient and ICSS in our project.
I have an action (to send emails - scheduled automatically) associated to a transaction type and this action fires appropriately when I create the transaction either through ICSS or ICWeb.
Is it possible that I can choose the action NOT to execute if I am creating a transaction from ICSS. In other words to say it should BE executed only from ICWeb.
For example when the user creates a transaction from ICSS I dont want the email to be triggered and if the agent creates the same transaction from ICWebclient, then the email should be triggered.

The response of your question is no.
You can't stop or pause teststand execution from Veristand when one of your alarm is triggered.
It will be possible if from Teststand you called Veristand code module and checked the Alarms 's state.

How to delay execution?

I have several loops. I need to delay each round of execution in those loops by a specified time interval. This is quite easy in C,C++ where we just use delay() function as one statement inside the loop. Is there any equivalence in Java?
The solution of using Timer is not acceptable, as it makes the things too complicated compared to just using one function.
I'd appreciate for the better solution.

Possible to delay an EEM action?

Hello, I am going to make use of EEM scripting to send to my ftp server some interfaces stats, I´m working with a cisco 3750. However, I´m seeing on event manager history events, that my EEM script (below) is aborted.I think that it might be owed to the fact that I write the data into a file, but writting the file takes too much time and action 4.0 is carried out before the file was available, so it cannot send it out marking the whole task as aborted. Therefore, I was wondering if I can trigger an new event from this event whose duty will be to send the file once it was completely written. May that be done within the EEM?? Or is there another way of stopping the execution of the action4.0 until the action 3.0 was achieved?

Usually the 'copy' commands & 'delete' commands would ask for the confirmation from the users(try to execute them manually). Unless those confirmations are handled in the applet, it would not proceed the execution. That should be the issue with your applet(already indicated by Joe). There are two possible options.
      1) Without changing your applet, you can configure the box for - not to promt for any confirmation (conf t ->
file prompt quiet). If you configure this CLI, the box will not ask for any confirmation from the users. So, it would execute the commads in your applet.
       2) Other option which is suggested by Joe already. You should try the CLI commands manually and check for the additional queries / responses shown by the system for those CLIs.
         For example, if you delete a file 'ttt.txt', it is asking for the additional confirmations.
                    0235-2900#delete flash0:ttt.txt
                    Delete filename [ttt.txt]?
                    Delete flash0:/ttt.txt? [confirm]
         To handle these additional prompts in the applet, the expected string has to be matched by your CLI execution line(Otherwise, it would not complete the operation). For the above case, you can try
                     action 7.0 cli command "delete flash0:ttt.txt" pattern "Delete.*"
                     action 7.1 cli command "ttt.txt" pattern "Delete.*"
                     action 7.1 cli command ""
           The action 7.1 cli command "" is like sending a 'enter' key in a keyboard.

Stored Procedure delay execution

Good Afternoon,
I am trying to execute 4 separate stored procedures, however I want to put a 10 second delay in between executing each procedure. The stored procedures are called SP_1, SP_2 etc.. Is there a really simple way of doing this with a SQL script?.

Delay execution of CFML

Hi there
I manage a site that "pre-generates" pages, so that the
execution time is quicker and the demands on the server are reduced
when users come to the site.
The problem is this. I have a template that contains CFML
that looks to see the browser that the user is using. When the
pages are "pregenerated" using say IE and the user visits using
Firefox, the pages to not render properly, because the
pregeneration process inserts a reference to the stylesheet for IE,
and not Firefox (which makes sense).
I would simply like to "include" the code that determines
which stylesheet should be used in the pregenerated page so that it
is executed when the user visists the site, rather than the
pregenerated page executing that code when the page is created.
Is anyone able to assist?

The problem is, my CF code (similar to that which you have
set out below) executes when I pregenerate my page. So, if I were
pregenerating the pages using (say) IE7, the line of code "<LINK
href="ie7_style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">" would be
inserted into the page, which would then be live on the website. If
a person comes along and views the page using Firefox, Opera, IE6
or any other broswer, the IE7 css will be used, because the line
<LINK href="ie7_style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
is already in the template.
What I want to do is insert the code (such as yours below)
into the template that server executes when the Firefox (or other)
user comes to the site.

Delayed chapter end action

Having end actions available for all chapters is a great advance - but I seem to have a problem with it in practice. The clip keeps playing for a second or two after the chapter point before responding to the end action. This happens regardless of whether the clip is playing or whether you skip forward through the preceding chapters to the one with the end action.
I can sort of adjust the position of the chapter point to allow for this, and I think it is slightly better if I put 2 end chapter points the minimum legal distance apart (both with the same instruction) and of course I could edit the original video so this flaw (if it is one) would not be so noticable (but really this would require a separate edit for the 'play all' version - which would defeat at least half the benefit) - but I wonder if ther is a better solution?

Are your source files .m2v or are you letting Encore transcode non-mpeg files?

If you're letting Encore transcode, then are you adding the chapter markers after background transcoding using the Transcode Now command?
No, all files are encode from the PPro timeline with chapters named and in place. (I have since tried moving them back a bit on the Encore timeline and added a 'second stop' where Encore allows - but this is only after encountering the original problem)

If your source files are already transcoded .m2v or .mpg files, then this may be a chapter placement issue. Once a file is transcoded, Encore can only put chapter markers at GOP headers (I-frames). Since PAL(?) I-frames are about a half-second apart, you could be getting chapter markers in the finished DVD that are not where you thought they were. NTSC works the same way.
I understand this but it shouldn't be a problem if the chaapter points are put in on the PremPro timeline? (btw this was a PPro 1.5 project - I guess I could try it in 2 as well?) We work in PAL (and ony convert to NTSC if needed - it wasn't in this case).

Delay execution time

I have two jsp page that load inside iFrames. One page sets a session variable that the other needs to read. The problem i am having is that the second jsp page sometimes renders before the the first one causing an error.

You could use JavaScript. In the frameset page set the fame displaying the second jsp to a dummy url or url of a blank html page. Then in the first jsp page put on th ebottom of the page a script to set the location of the other frame to your second jsp page. This way the second jsp will not be called until the first page has loaded.

Delay with every action i do in cs3

im not sure if my computer has too many files on it or not but my photoshop is running slow,
the ruler at the top and left ripple after each thing i do such as crop and image or scroll up an image. Sometimes im working on a file wtih several layers and it just cuts off. i have no time to save anything. ive tried deleting extra things on the computer i dont need. not sure if i have a virus causing this or is the photoshop.

I ran 3 strong, good virus scans (that way that spyware/trojan/virus whatever has nowhere to hide.
Then I went through and deleted a bunch of crap on my computer.
And VOILA!
I sugguest you try this...
There is a good online virus checker called Panda...
I sugguest you try it - If you can't run numerous scan with your program.

Folder action delay until done

I run a video encoding software called Episode Engine, and what it does is while encoding a video, it kicks out a temporary file in the output folder with a file size of 0. It does not actually update the filesize until encoding is complete.
What I want to do is set a folder action to an output folder (which receives up to 5 videos at a time from encoding) that uploads the file automatically to a Transmit (FTP Client) favorite. I also want to account for the fact that I may drop large files in this folder as well, which could take time, but dont stay at 0 file size until the transfer is done. The part I'm having trouble with is delaying the transmit action until the file is done encoding. What I currently have does not work. And I dont know any way to monitor a folder action workflow, so I'm not sure where it's failing. Any recommendations?
p.s. We're still running 10.6.8 on this computer (I know, I know...)

Folder Actions has some built in support for recognizing 'busy' files, but it's not too intelligent. It works well with Finder moves and copies, not so well with other things. There are three ways I can think of to solve this problem.
Tweak your script with a test for temp files so that it skips them. This may cause secondary headaches (e.g. you skip a temp file, but Lightroom finishes the job in the ten second throttle period so the creation of the the file(s) you want to move is missed by folder actions), but there's no way to tell unless you try.
Drop Folder Actions and set up a QueueDirectories launch agent. This would wait for items to be added to the folder then move and delete them - you write the script to idle until temp files are done processing.
Forget about immediate gratification and write a LaunchAgent that will sync the folders hourly using rsync.
Which would you prefer?
