I have been using Dreamweaver for exactly three weeks. I've been plowing through the Missing Manual for DW CS5 but I'm stuck. Here's the sitch:
I purchased the following template: http://cms.template-help.com/wordpress_30731/ and uploaded it into dreamweaver. Changed the logo and body text without incident. However, I can't figure out how to edit the text in the menu bar and the scrolling post-it notes. In the DW design view screen there are gray rectangles beside the menu bar text and the post-it copy. I change the text in design view but it doesn't change the text when I live view it.
Any ideas on where I should be looking in the DW interface? Like I said I have the MM book but a little guidance about where to look for editing these items would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Does anyone know how long it's supposed to take iTunes to get an episode up after it's aired? I ask because (forgive my obsession! see username) the latest "Bones" episode aired on the 27th and it's still not avaible in the iTunes store. Same deal with the latest episode of "Eureka" (actually aired on the 26th.) Any hint as to the delay would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!

If you have a seasons pass then iTS will inform you via e-mail when the latest is available. At least they do for me.
iTS is at the mercy of the content providers. Once it is given to iTS I am sure that they are as speedy as possible at making the content available.
You can give feed back to iTS via the iTunes drop down menu>Provide iTunes Feedback.

Fair points - I think straight up questions and answers will come out. There is the Lenovo and Windows 7 page that should have links and most of the information that you might need.
Rather than have 1 very long video, we tried to break up some of Matt and John's discussion into relevant chapters. Not everyone is a fan of video, but I thought it added another way for people to connect with us.

I log onto my school website and firefox does not show the links to discussion boards? I have contacted the Professor and the links are showing on his end. I do online classes and have for a few years and have not had this problem before.

I need to do school work, I do online classes and when I log on to my school the links for my discussion boards do not show up. I have not had this problem before. Please help.

I'm having serious problems with my printer that, having been run around in obligatory circles on the customer assistance section of the websit, I need to talk to someone about before I do something that invalidates my warranty.
F2480 All-in-One (USB)
Run on:
AMD Athlon 2500+
1.83Ghz
768MB Ram
Windows XP (Service Pack 3)Professional (2002)
For background my printer is new, with new cartriges and new paper. I have tried the most logical solutions on the website, including pulling plugs out and waiting for 40 minutes (nothing changed, unsurprisingly), checking the settings, examining the ink cartiges and making sure the paper is fresh.
My problems are thus:
I have never gotten my printer to work as it should. At first, I had to print a test page everytime I wanted to print anything else. I thought that was odd but hey, I don't use it that often and so it wasn't a big deal, so long as it would print what I needed it to print.
Now, I find that not only will the device not print, but it cannot even rise to the challenge of printing a Self Test Report, a contingency which is not covered on the website and which, unfortunately for me, seems to be the single most important factor in figuring out what's wrong with the little...it. I haven't done anything to it, I haven't made any changes at all, I put it back in its box to move house and I have just unpacked it and reinstalled it and...it's worse than ever.
I have even tried to print a Self Test in Stand Alone mode, it just makes a really unhealthy grumble like I've asked it to do some work and then throws up a blank page.
The most recent error with my printer is that, when asked to print a document, it prints a garbled third of a page, then refuses to do anything else. It's not even the first page in the document. I assumed this was something to do with it not communicating properly with my PC but I don't know why this would be the case and the solutions on the website were, in the event that my problem could not be resolved by that particular page, self-referencing. After circling round on my predicament a couple of times I decided the only way I could get any sense out of this was by just asking someone who makes or services the **bleep** things.
I have absolutely no idea what is wrong with it and I'm thinking of creative ways to destroy the device, because I'm sure that would be infinitely more satisfying than wading through god-knows-what bureaucracy to get my money back.
Can you help me?

In the hour since you have registered you have posted seven messages, none of which contain any useful information that would allow someone here to help you. Please read this post then provide some details in a new thread. What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth? What is the problem you are having (with the printer...)?

Had to share this story of assuming a 10.6.1 update problem when it was me (I think it was anyway).
I upgraded to 10.6.1 on Thursday when I was out of the office. I have been having issues with adding attachments into Entourage (I started a topic on this last week), and I hoped they would fix it in 10.6.1. I also have a Sierra Wireless USB Modem that wasn't working that great. (The Entourage issue is still not fixed, and I haven't checked the Sierra modem yet.)
Anyway, I returned to my office Friday morning. In my office, I have a 1920x1200 Dell LCD display. So, when I take my laptop to the office, I plug in the power adapter I have there, then the display cable, the USB cable that connects to the monitor's hub (and in turn connects to my wired keyboard and printer) and the speaker mini-cable for the monitor.
I immediately discover that I cannot close the MBP lid without the machine going to sleep. On Wednesday (before the upgrade), I could keep the lid closed and the machine wouldn't sleep. I could wake it from the USB keyboard or mouse. After 10.6.1, nope. The lid had to be open to keep the machine awake. This wasn't horrible per se - the only downside was that with mirroring the built in display on my Dell display, I had to run the Dell at the laptop's screen resolution (1440x900) - so the Dell wasn't a crisp image. Not a huge problem but definitely a step back in my mind.
I tried not to work on this too much so I could focus on my actual job. But I did try a bunch of things all unsuccessfully:
1. Scoured the forums. Did find some issues with external displays and SL, but they were more related to displays not working at all. Nothing about sleep and closed lids.
2. Tweaked the energy settings to keep the machine awake, etc.
3. Even briefly tried an insomnia program to force the machine to stay awake, but that didn't seem to work either. (I didn't really want to have to run this permanently, so I deleted it pretty quickly.)
4. Tried VGA instead of DVI.
5. Tried an entirely different Dell display I happen to have (same 1920x1200 resolution, but an older model).
And then I got a battery life warning. After 4 hours, my MBP told me I was at 20% batter life. Huh? Why is the batter discharging?
Oh, idiot! On Wednesday evening, I had taken the MBP to a conference room for our fantasy football draft. Normally when I take the power supply, I just use the brick and the small adapter that fits into it. I leave the cord part plugged into the wall. But I needed the longer cord, so I took the whole thing. Apparently, when I got back to my office, I never actually plugged the cord into the wall. I just tossed it behind the desk. I didn't run the machine at work again until after the 10.6.1 install.
So, I plugged in the adapter, and lo and behold, I could now close the lid of the MBP and run the external display at its native resolution - just like the entire past month on 10.5.8, 10.6 and now 10.6.1.
Here's the part that I wonder about: Is this a change of behavior? Has OS X always required a MBP to be externally powered to run an external display with the lid closed? I don't actually know. In fact, this is now a bit of a feature for me. When I leave work at the end of a day, I usually take my laptop home. I have been manually putting the machine into sleep before disconnecting it from the power, display etc. Now, I can just disconnect it. When I pull the power, the machine automatically sleeps if the lid is closed. By the time I unplug the other connectors, the machine has finished writing out the hibernation file.
Does anyone know if this is a change?
Just thought I would share this bit of folly. I was very relieved that this issue wasn't another 10.6.1 problem. And of course a bit embarrassed. But not so much that I couldn't offer up the cautionary tale.
(And before you file this away as a rookie error, I've been using computers for 30 years, know how to program, and I manage production for a video game company. Just shows that experience doesn't always mean you are smart!)

Nothing to do with being smart or not. Just an oversight based on a routine getting disrupted by some new excitement. So you got to learn something new (which is wonderful about disruptions to routines), and you thankfully shared it with the rest of us.
While it's easy to say it makes sense it would have to be plugged in to operate closed, I think it's more of an afterthought of it making sense than it having to be that way. I'm sure some would complain about it not allowing you to drain the battery in that way. I like that it wants to be plugged in as it probably needs the extra boost of power anyways.

Steps to recreate
(i) Create new user account and add to any group ( do not log on using this
account)
(ii) runas /user:<new user account> <fullpath>\excel.exe
it will ask password so enter on command prompt
(iii) open any excel document and click File->Print
(iv) verify result (it is failing) it pop ups below error

I have a default set excel is still throwing error. Interestingly winword , powerpoint and publisher are working fine. I am able to print from all office applications except Excel.
Probably excel behaves differently from other office applications.
Probably it is a bug in excel
Workaround : Log on to a system once using newly created account then runas excel using this account then print works fine.
It means something in user profile should be configure to run excel print operation. Could you please somebody help what I need to configure in user profile that makes print operation success?

In each of your jsp pages, u should set the name of page in the request object. e.g.
In jsp page called main.jsp you should do request.setAttribute("pageName","main.jsp");
Then in error page you can get the name like
String pageInError = (String) request.getAttribute("pageName");

SSAS Cube - Throws "attribute key not found" when the key exists

I created a cube with 2 fact tables ( CabecNF and ItensNF ) and with some dimensions, in this case Cliente.
When I proccess the cube it throws this error:
Internal error: The operation terminated unsuccessfully.
Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The process operation ended because the number of errors encountered during processing reached the defined limit of allowable errors for the operation.
Errors in the OLAP storage engine: An error occurred while processing the 'ITENSNF' partition of the 'ITENSNF' measure group for the 'SCA' cube from the SCA_Cube_ database.
Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The process operation ended because the number of errors encountered during processing reached the defined limit of allowable errors for the operation.
Server: The operation has been cancelled.
Errors in the OLAP storage engine: An error occurred while processing the 'CABECNF' partition of the 'CABECNF' measure group for the 'SCA' cube from the SCA_Cube_ database.
Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found when processing: Table: 'dbo_CLIENTE', Column: 'CODIGO', Value: '6571'. The attribute is 'CLIENTEID'.

I understand that is not finding the ClienteID 6571. But I've checked on my database and he exists, and he has itens in the CabecNF wich has itens on ItensNF.
I've already customized the error configuration on the dimensions, but it didn't solve the problem.
What could be causing this behavior?

Yes, the process of the dimension was successful. At first successful with warnings, and then successful without warnings.
But I found the problem: The Cliente dimension has relathionship with the Seguimento dimension, and the Cliente 6571 had NULL at that relationship. I fixed that and the cube was processed successfully.
It was a bit hard to find the problem because the error didn't mentioned anything about the Seguimento dimension.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

I ended up having them call me then was able to give them 1 of my secret questions right and they reset things so I could reset all my secret questions.
Try going into contact support and see if you can schedule a call. There seems to be some issues with peoples' id's and this update. iTunes thought that I'd never bought anything from my computer or device before, and I clearly had, so it's like it got confused. THen I tried to get my questions reset, but the mail never came, which is why I just got a phone call because I felt it was 'real person' time.

Try a few things:
First, try double tapping the home button. You should see a row of apps at the bottom; these are your recenty opened apps. Hold your finger down on any of the icons until they start to shake, and a red minus() appears. Tap the red minus for each app. This will close the app, not delete it. If you have too many apps open, this can cause crashes.
If it still crashes, try the basic troubleshooting steps here:

So i've been trying to update my portfolio and im ready to throw this printer out the window and probably never buy another HP product if someone cant help me fix this problem. Everytime i go to print whether its landscape or potrait it cuts the top of my photo off. This is a new problem, its never happened before up until now. I have spent days trying everything, ive tried printing it off my Samsung galaxy tab S. My desktop. i have tried resetting the printer, updated the software, troubleshooting, aligning, everything and have gone through $100 worth of ink to get nothing out of it. Hello, In the printing App that you are using, there should be an setting option to select the Paper Type and Size. Make sure you got that settings changed to the type and size of paper you are wanting to print on. I am not sure if you are using the inbuilt app of Samsung to print or HP's ePrint & All in One Remote app . ? HP ePrint app is used for printing using.HP All in One Remote app is used for Scanning . This is again one of the questions that should never be a problem with a machine that has such a good marketing that it is labeled as "easy to use" - NO it is NOT easy to use. And this is not the only issue I have with it AND I think of throwing the very expensive MacBook Pro through a closed window. From wake up from sleep issues to vertical and horizontal stripes through timemachine stuff and not responding ForceQuitApplication Windows I am about to believe that Windows overall is not such a bad thing. I (MacBook Pro 10.5.4 Admin Account) wanted to share a folder (not the "shared" folder) with my girlfriend's MacBook 10.4.11.
In the Help of the System Preferences Sharing Screen is says:
"Sharing files on your network
You can set up your computer to share files and folders with other users on your network. You can set up your computer to share your entire computer with everyone, or restrict the sharing service to allow specific users access to only certain folders."
This made me believe that when I added a folder for example /Users/MyName/FolderToShare within the shared folders list, and for that folder set the User "NameOfGirlfriend" with Read & Write access (btw. also Everyone with Read & Write access) my girlfriend should be able to access (GO to server..) the newly shared folder as it says above in the Sharing Screen: "Other users can access your computer at afp://IP address..." (I also tries SMB)

I'm assuming these problems are current problems and not something Apple has fixed through hardware repairs...
If you're having those sorts of problems (particularly the vertical and horizontal stripes comment sets off very loud sirens in my head), that strongly points in my mind to either a bad logic board or defective RAM or both, and with the display corruption bit, my guess would be leaning towards a bad logic board. None of those problems are in any way normal or typical of Mac hardware.
Trying to fix file sharing while you're experiencing display corruption, frequent failures to wake from sleep, and frequent random application hangs is like trying to fix your car stereo while the engine is on fire. While your MacBook Pro is still under warranty, run, don't walk to your nearest Apple store and get a genius to take a look at this thing....

If you downloaded it on the iPad then it should be in the Music app under the More button at the bottom of the app (Podcasts should show as an option on that button's popup if there are podcasts in it).
