Lumia 925 died (got frozen) after s/w update

Hi All -
Last Thursday (August 8th) the handset loaded and I agreed to install updates for WP8. After a couple of hours of normal work, s/w crashed and screen showed "emergency calls only" with some strange date and time. Had no chanse to get in the start windows menu to recover factory setting, 3 bottoms re-start did not help as well.
Any ideas?

Lumia 920: OneDrive not working after WP8.1 update

After 8.1 update to Lumia 920 OneDrive stopped working totally. In original WP8.0 SkyDrive worked as should.
- In start menu OneDrive icon/tile shows as "greyed out" and does not respond to anything. The only thing one can do is move or unpin the icon/tile.
- In application menu the only option for OneDrive is "pin to start". There is no "rate and review", "share" or "uninstall" available. Therefore cannot uninstall and re-install
- If looking from Store, it does not allow to (re-)install because it thinks that it is already installed!
I can access OneDrive from all my other devices.
I know that there are several people who have updated their 920 succesfully but that information is not very helpful to me. Looking from internet this has happened to a couple of other users too.
What should I do? Good suggestions welcome.

Always in case of trouble with accounts, please double check the time, date and time zone settings on the phone, and verify that there is an active data connection via mobile or Wi-Fi. Also, the strangest problems are sometimes resolved by shutting the phone down and starting it again.
Otherwise, the next steps are:
In Settings -> Mail + Accounts is there a Microsoft account configured, with your email address in small print? - Not a deletable mail account, but the account entered during first setup of the phone. - If so, long press and select Synchronise from the pop up menu.
In case the Microsoft account is missing for whatever reason, then the only option is a factory reset.
If it fails to synchronise, then please post the error code displayed, since that may give useful information.
OneDrive should start working once it has sync'ed ...

EDIT: A factory reset as suggested by @93tid must solve the problem. It is just that I had to perform a manual MS account sync to have the OneNote and Office Lens apps work properly after the upgrade to WP8.1 - and I wonder if something similar is happening here.

after a itunes UPDATE all of my music that use to be there cant be found, Im not in a cloud, how and where do i look for my music? i have windows 8.1

Font Rendering Got Bad After 32.0 Update

After the recent update, the font started to get badly rendered. Kind of blurry with jagged edges and transparent parts. It used to be okay D:
Sometimes it becomes okay for a moment as I scroll down on pages, and sometimes when I stop scrolling, the font stays as it is; as if there are specific positions for the text to render properly. However, not all of the fonts are affected. Only the ones inside the scroll area.
On times that the font renders properly, the bookmarks font, title bar, and tab names are unaffected and still appear not-smooth. Same thing does not happen on other browsers. All my other system fonts look okay; it's really just Firefox.
Restarting Firefox = didn't work
Restarting Computer = didn't work
Tried setting up Clear Type = didn't work
Tried enabling and disabling Hardware Acceleration on Firefox = didn't work
Tried enabling and disabling the Graphics card itself = didn't work
Tried just about all of the suggestions I found on Google = none worked
Tried complete uninstall and re-install of Firefox 32.0 = didn't work
Graphics Driver are updated ~
Windows is updated ~
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6800
I fixed it by downgrading to Firefox 31 which makes me sure that 32.0 is the culprit. As I was about to send the message on top; I tried downgrading as my last resort and it worked. Now I'm only sending this as a report. I am hoping you'll figure out what caused it because I am quite strict (OC) that everything in my PC must remain updated >_<; thus I want to use Firefox 32.0 as much as possible.

No one to help on this ??????

Lumia 1020 SIM card error after WP8.1 update

I updated my wife's Lumia 1020 to WP8.1. Ever since there has been random SIM card errors. The phone just drops the network while it's idle (not during the phone calls) and gives an error message "SIM card error".
Anybody who has experienced the similar thing after installing WP8.1 update???
If there's someone from Nokia/Microsoft support team reading this: what should be done in order to get rid of this aforementioned thing?

Iphone 4S frozen after recent IOS update ?

My Iphone4S was working perfectly before installing the IOS update on 03/14/14. Now it is frozen, I have no acces to restore from ITunes because the access is password protected. The guys at Apple Store said I need a new phone. The Supervisor at Apple Care, states that this is a hardware problem wich was present before, but this not affected the phone's operation, until the recent update was installed.
Since my Phone was out of warranty, I am told I have to get a new phone. My only mistake was to trust an update from Apple could be installed without damaging my IPhone. !!
Any recommendation on what to to do, besides buying a new phone ???

Oooooh, so you HAVE to have an extra computer? One for restoring and one to use to everything else?
I had this problem when updating to 4.0, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 - only thing that got the phone going again was actually to JAILBREAK the bugger with a software download from dev.team and using that.
This can't be right!!! Apple, get it fixed or I'll stand clear of collecting my iPhone4 tomorrow, if this is how it has to be in the future. You have had several months to clear this mess up!

Samsung Galaxy S3 Battery Dying Extremely Fast - After 4.3 Update

I have been struggling with this same issue, have killed all unnecessary apps, cleared the cache, performed a factory reset and even tried a new battery, and still have an issue where after a full charge, my battery would drain to around 90% in less than 30 minutes. Sometimes, even faster.
It seems that nobody has been able to nail down a solution, so I attempted to contact Samsung to see what their suggestions might be.
The conversation I had with an agent basically sums up like this:
There's nothing they can do because they do not have reports of this issue and request that I send in my phone to be physically examined.
So, Samsung basically told me to send it in and see if they can do anything about it. I don't have the insurance set up on my account, so I can't hold that in place, and I have no other way to get in touch with people and have a small child, so I can't exactly just mail off my phone for them to examine it. So, basically, Samsung is avoiding the issue and we still have no true resolution.
If anyone has any other ideas, fixes, things I can attempt without having to send my phone in for someone to "examine", it would be greatly appreciated.
Please note that I have deleted/uninstalled/cleared cache on many apps, finally completely reset the phone to factory settings and then tried a brand new battery, and the drainage is still extremely significant.

Simple fix. No. Seriously. I had this on mine and the fix worked like a charm.
I appologize in advance that I do not have screenshots, so I'll do my best to step by step describe this as best as possible. The culprit is your e-mail app (not g-mail --- e-mail). I don't know the specifics, but it has issues with syncing between Yahoo accounts and Google accounts and it supposedly causes the e-mail client on your phone to run CONSTANTLY to try to sync. This will drain your battery like crazy.
No. This process never shows up in the battery useage thingy that they had you check. It is a background app process and won't show there. Sorry VZ people, but your normal tech magic has no power here. This is a known bug with Android 4.3.
You have to disable the sync, but this has the unintended effect of rendering your e-mail app useless since it will no longer get your e-mails for you, even if you manually sync it. Just download the Yahoo Mail app and you'll be fine. (or whatever other e-mail service you're using).
From your In-Box, touch the menu button to the left of the home button. The menu comes up with "Sort By", "View As", "Font Size", and "Settings" -- Touch "Settings"
Under the settings menu, you should see "+Add Account" at the top and "Account Settings" with your e-mail address directly under that. Go ahead and click that. It should bring up another menu with your e-mail address and a green check mark beside it. Touch your e-mail address to open its settings.
The top option is "Sync Settings" - that is the one that we want... click it. You should see "Sync E-mail" at the top and below it, it will say "Master sync has been turned off" and there should be a green check in the box to the right. Touch the green checkmark to fix the issue. The green check should be on and it should now say "Sync turned off."
You've now fixed the problem and disabled your e-mail app from sucking your battery. Not sure why it sets up like that, but with the Master Sync turned off, your e-mail app will try endlessly to sync with the other services via master sync and it will never be able to.... so it keeps running and running and running. Sucks.
Now that you're fixed, just get a service specific e-mail app and be happy with a phone that doesn't die in an hour!!!!
Keep in mind that you will still need to monitor things like Wifi being on when you're not connected to Wifi, GPS, and screen brightness. Those will drain it quickly too.
I used to be able to unplug my phone @ 100% and litterally watch it drop without even unlocking it. Now, I can use it casually/semi-hard all day at work and still go home with 40-50% of a battery.

Itunes frozen after iOS 5 update

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5. The update appears to have taken - the phone now works, after several hiccups in the update process. I appear to have lost my photos, calendar entries, etc. When I plug the phone into my mac, iTunes sees the iPhone but I just see the spinning ball and it does not allow me to do anything with it. Is there anything I can to do bring my iPhone back to normalcy? Do I need to go to the genius bar? (Which is probably really crowded because of the iPhone 4S release).

My friend is in pieces, she has tried to update to 5.1.1. She wanted to sync beforehand to itunes but it told her to update to 5.1.1 so she did and now the phone is frozen. It's telling her to restore her phone. If I tell her to do a hard reset (home+sleep button) will she lose her data that's on her phone right now?

1. There is no such thing as a "hard" (or "soft") reset in iPhone terminology. What you described is actually called just a reset, or phone reset. See the User Guide, Appendix B
2. Resetting as above doesn't delete any data, but probably won't help if the phone is telling her to restore.
3. Restoring may lose data if she never backed up previous to updating.
4. Worrying about losing data is pointless if the phone is nonfunctional and can't access it anyway. It may already be gone or corrupted.
5. We all know it's you, not your friend, with this problem...

Help! iPhone 4 frozen after disconnected software update

I'm really hoping someone can help me.
I was running a software update on an iPhone 4, and it sort of froze halfway through. After about 2 hours I stupidly disconnected the phone, I don't know what I was thinking! Now it's stuck on a screen showing the iTunes logo and a wire. I have tried reconnecting but it doesn't do anything. iTunes is still saying its updating my phone and not letting me close it. I tried turning the phone off and on again and it is still showing the screen. I also tried putting the phone into DFU mode and it didnt do anything

Force quit iTunes, then re-boot your computer & force your phone into recovery mode:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. In your case, restore from backup.
