LV 2009 project LLB as startup vi in .exe build?

I hope I can explain my problem correctly.
I started a new project and wanted to build an .LLB and have subvi's called under these in the project as this is what I was used to doing minus the project in LV 8.2.1.
The problem is I built my GUI under the LLB but did not put any of the other vi's underneath it.  So my project has 1 LLB and several vi's attached to it.  The problem is when I tried making an executable it wants a startup vi(which is my LLB) and it will not allow me to put it in the startup vi column so I cannot build an executable.
I tried converting the LLB but got an error and almost lost my whole project because it deleted the LLB and did not convert it.  Luckily I had a backup.
How do I make an executable when my front panel is in an LLB format?

An LLB is not a LabVIEW code-file like a VI, it is more a container file like a .zip file.
I advise you not to develop code in an LLB, just stay in a VI. The problem with developing in an LLB is that if the file structure is corrupt all the code is damaged. Since you only have one file in the LLB I see no reason to maintain the LLB.
However you should be able to select the VI inside the LLB as your startup VI.

  • Is every form on project instatiated on startup?

    Is every form on project instatiated on startup? if so, how do i prevent this from happening, as far as i understand every forms gets instatiated but im not really sure of this, i remember delphi IDE would allow you to select which forms would be loaded
    or instatiated and which ones would need to be instatiated by user, is this posible on .net? i cant find any option related to this behavior on .net IDE. Can someone point me where can i get additional information on this.
    thanks for the help.

    Hello,
    From Delphi project file you can see where forms are created.
    program UsingRegistry;
    uses
    Forms,
    MainForm in 'MainForm.pas' {frmMain},
    JEDI_Dialogs in 'JEDI_Dialogs.pas',
    Insight in 'Insight.pas' {frmInsight},
    DPRegstr in 'DPRegstr.pas',
    RunEntries in 'RunEntries.pas' {frmRunApps},
    Unit2 in 'Unit2.pas' {EnumuateRegBranch},
    MultiStrDemo in 'MultiStrDemo.pas' {frmMultiStringDemo};
    {$R *.RES}
    begin
    Application.Initialize;
    Application.CreateForm(TfrmMain, frmMain);
    Application.CreateForm(TfrmMultiStringDemo, frmMultiStringDemo);
    Application.OnHint := frmMain.AppOnHint ;
    Application.Run;
    end.
    In C#
    namespace CheckOneRow
    static class Program
    /// <summary>
    /// The main entry point for the application.
    /// </summary>
    [STAThread]
    static void Main()
    Application.EnableVisualStyles();
    Application.SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault(false);
    Application.Run(new frmMainForm());
    While in VB.NET
    Namespace My
    'NOTE: This file is auto-generated; do not modify it directly. To make changes,
    ' or if you encounter build errors in this file, go to the Project Designer
    ' (go to Project Properties or double-click the My Project node in
    ' Solution Explorer), and make changes on the Application tab.
    Partial Friend Class MyApplication
    <Global.System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()> _
    Public Sub New()
    MyBase.New(Global.Microsoft.VisualBasic.ApplicationServices.AuthenticationMode.Windows)
    Me.IsSingleInstance = false
    Me.EnableVisualStyles = true
    Me.SaveMySettingsOnExit = true
    Me.ShutDownStyle = Global.Microsoft.VisualBasic.ApplicationServices.ShutdownMode.AfterMainFormCloses
    End Sub

    Protected Overrides Sub OnCreateMainForm()
    Me.MainForm = Global.MockedMasterDetailsRelationship.StoneForm

    So you can see C# and VB.NET only create the main form unlike Delphi

    My 2009 iMac is version 10.5.8 and build 9L31a. How can I upgrade to mountain lion?

    You'll have to purchase, install and update Snow Leopard from the Apple Store to get the App Store application.
    Mountain Lion is only sold via the App Store.

  • How can I save a 2009 project in 8.5 without making it a copy in a different folder

    I have a project where some files have accidentally been saved in 2009. I want to save them back to 8.5. The save for previous version option makes me create a different folder and then gets the heirarchy incorrect. How can I resave all VI's in there current location without having to save under a different folder?

    You don't-  you let LabVIEW save them then move them then resolve the conflicts the next time you open them since the vi's will load dependancies from a different location and you'll get a bunch of warnings and conflicts.
    This type of mistake can cause a lot of heartache- its painful but, like putting your hand on the grill, you soon learn not to do that again!

  • My MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009) question mark on startup

    My MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009) has a question mark on startup.
    I brought it to my local apple service centre and they told me that after a few tests it was the hardrive, so they changed it under-warranty. Back home I started re-installing my system and got again a question mark on startup.
    I decided to put the hardrive in a FW800 external enclosure and boot my system this way and the computer started without any problem. I reinstalled the hardrive in the MacBook Pro and again got a question mark on startup.
    I decided to buy another drive, Seagate momentus XT 500Go, transfered all my files in this new drive and I installed it inside the MacBook Pro, still the same question mark on startup. I installed it again in my FW800 external enclosure and everything worked fine.
    I decided to installed it again in the MacBook Pro, load the computer via the original Mac OSX install DVD, load the system and try to install a new fresh one on the hardrive... no hardrive were found....
    So I decided again to bring it back to the same local service centre, and they told me again it was the hardrive the problem... but they don't want to listen to me when I told them that all my hardrives can startup the computer via an external enclosure....
    So I would like your help, I think the problem come from the cable that linked the HD to the motherboard or the SATA chip inside the motherboard, but they don't want to test it !!!!
    Thanks in advance for you help, I have been without my computer since 2 weeks now and I can't afford working without it any more !!!
    Sincerely
    bosa30

    You need to take this computer to a real Apple Store. Or call AppleCare. Obviously this "local serve centre" doesn't have the skills to deal with your issue.
    I'd also check your RAM, as an easy first step. But I think the HD controller in your Mac is bad, since you can boot from an external drive.

  • Want to find settings used on camcorder in existing iMovie 2009 project

    With an existing iMovie project made last year, how can I determine the settings used on camcorder?  I used iMovie 2009.

    Thank you kindly for taking the time to reply - much appreciated.  I have looked around the forums and looks like the Shift F/ Favourites "work-around" is all there is.
    Sadly it is just a workaround and difficult to believe that such an essential automatic tool as marking clips that have been 'used'  is not included in a professional editor especially when little brother iMovie has this down slick and pat already.. -  A professional editor should make life easier not harder and this feature of marking used clips in my opinion is a serious letdown in FCPX.  I know now I can make it work somewhat with Shift F etc but it's extra keystrokes, non automatic and a very poor excuse and lousy effort by Apple to not have this auto function of marking used clips. Shift F will get rather confusing if one wanted to also use the actual F funtion to mark any favourites.   - Many thanks yr kreplies I really found it hard to believe for FCPX to miss such a simplistic feature
    Regards - Shipman123
    PS:  Nice to have such great support  from other users. Thank you and wish I knew more to be able to contribute, but am still on the trail of discovery and trial /error with FCPX coming from iMovie / Adobe Premier Elements.

  • AE project crashes on startup - due to Warp Stabilizer and Highlight/Shadow

    I've got a head scratcher here...
    Firstly, I have been working on this project file for several days with no problems. Everything was running smoothly... working, tweaking, rendering... all successful.
    A couple days after doing a final render, I went to re-open the project and got these two errors, followed by AE crashing:
    To the best of my knowledge, I changed nothing on my system.
    I've tried removing my 3rd parth plugins (Video Copilot Optical Flares, Element, etc...) but to no avail. The program still crashes when opening this file.
    I've since installed the updates to AE CS 6, but still no luck.
    Removing Warp Stabilizer and Shadow/Highlight allow me to open this project file (obviously telling me that its missing both).
    I've tested out both plug-ins in a different file, and I'm able to open those no problem.
    I'm running this on a Mac Book Pro running OSX 10.6.8

    Any thoughts???

    We've isolated the bug that is causing this behavior. It seems to only affect instances of the Shadow/Highlight effect on an adjustment layer over layer(s) with the Warp Stabilizer.
    There are a couple of workarounds:
    - One is to remove the Shadow/Highlight plug-in from the plug-ins folder and then open the project (and then fix the project to not have this effect on an adjustment layer over a Warp Stabilizer instance).
    - Another is to precompose the layer(s) with the Warp Stabilizer effect.
    We're working on a fix for this.

  • Macbook Pro 17" mid 2009 shuts down on startup

    Macbook Pro 17" start acting up few weeks ago. It shuts down at start up. I have to press power button many times to turn it on. I red few posts regarding this problem, and most of them are saying that its HD fault. I've just did fresh install of Mountain Lion with hope it will fix the HD, but I guess it didn't fix anything. Is it possible that SuperDrive is at fault? The reason is that SuperDrive stoped reading CD/DVDs since few months ago. What do I have to do before I replace 500 GB HDD?
    Thanks in advance to everyone.

    Maybe if you had checked into how to use and repair your system, what to do to reset the system board, and the things that can and do go wrong - PCs are not immune they are different. Notebooks have more trouble with disk drive failures and heat they have to contend with.

    If your Macintosh computer won't turn on, here's how to troubleshoot it. Please keep in mind that although your computer may display similar symptoms that prevent it from showing video, this article discusses what to do if the computer won't turn on, meaning that when you press the power button:
    You don't hear a startup chime.
    You don't hear any fan or drive noise.
    The power button or power indicator doesn't light up at all.
    If your computer doesn't display any video, it may display one or more of these similar symptoms when you press the power button:
    You may hear a startup chime.
    You may hear fan or drive noise.
    You may see the power button or power indicator light up.
    If any of these conditions occurs, see Troubleshooting: My computer has no video instead.
    Resolution
    If your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps:
    Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a working wall outlet, and that it's properly connected to the power adapter. (To check if the wall socket is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.)
    Make sure that the power adapter is properly connected to the power port on the side or back of the computer.
    Disconnect all accessories that are plugged into the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.

  • MBP 13" Aug 2009 Lion freezes during startup

    Just wondering if anybody else is having this problem.  I just upgraded to Lion from Snow Leapord.  I now am having issues with my computer freezing right after start up.  It will only do this after it appears to boot everything up, however it will just sit there and the cursor turns into the spining rainbow.  It just started happening after i installed lion.
    I bought this computer in August of 2009.  I seems to only do this when I have it try to reopen all windows after restart, weather I have anything open or not.  I have to hold down the power button and try it again, usually 2-3 times and it will be alright.
    Anybody else having this issue?  Is there anything I can do to fix this?  Hopefully it is a known issue with Apple and they will resolve it.  This computer has been great!  Never once had any freeze or anything until now.
    Thanks in advance
    Brian

    Thanks guys, I have 4 GB of Ram and 368 out of 500 Gigs of free HDD space.  I called the Apple care guys, AMAZING SERVICE, just amazing.  We ran through some tests, created a temp login, the problem went away with that. I the ran the disk utility.  Verified the disk, repaired during start up using the recovery HD.  Then repaired the disk permissions.  Problem is fixed.  I have rebooted several times and have not had a hang up yet.  So I think during that night I updated to lion, i also updated i life 11 as well.  So I think something just got messed up a bit.
    So all is well.  And I am happy again!
    Thanks for the replies

  • Imac late 2009 chimes but wont startup

    Late 2009 27”  iMac i7 2.66GHz w/ 8GB ram
    let me preface this by saying that Ive searched for answers to this specific problem for days without any luck. I have a late 2009 iMac 27" i7, a few days ago, when I was out, and it was presumably asleep, it stopped working. When I returned, I tried to wake it but it wouldnt wake up, I noticed that the back of the machine was very hot, so I restarted it. It would chime, but the screen would remain black. I tried different ways of restarting, different screen, installer thumbdrive, target mode, safe mode, etc. Everytime, I would hear the chime, I can feel one of the drives spinning, but nothing. Unfortunately, I had only set this system up about 4 weeks ago, and had forgotten to turn my file sharing on, so I can use Screen Sharing to try to control it. Though I dont think its actually on because I dont see the machine listed in my wireless network anymore. so I guess it really doesnt matter. Another thing that it doesnt let me do is zap the PRAM. I’ll hold the keys down before the chime, and again nothing.
    Here a little history about this machine. Ive had this machine since early 2010, its been a work horse, and has never given me much problems aside from a failed harddrive, which I replaced with an SSD. Also, Recently the CD drive failed on me, so I took it out and replaced it with an SSD, so now I have an ssd where the diskdrive was, and also added a 1tb 3.5 Drive into the original drive bay. All has been running smooth for about 4 weeks.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Have you tried holding down the power button until the computer shutdown, holding it until boot up chime.  Possiblly something wrong with the display?  My family has the same computer and there have been boot-up issues too, so maybe a recurring problem?  between tries, give it a few minutes and unplug, otherwise take it in.  Also try to vacuum the dust out of the slot vent in the back or clean out the computer.  If you can't get it to work and do not want to take it in,  use target mode and connect another computer via usb to retrieve important files.  Good Luck!

  • Imac 27" late 2009 SOS beeps at startup after firmware update

    Here is the story.
    After a firmware update, imac did not start up and beeped. The only way to get it to start was to reset the VRAM using the command option P R. Then it was starting fine, but for each reboot I had to do the same.
    A firmware update later... And now even that doesn't work.
    Could it be the logic board battery? ( computer is 3.5 yrs old and part of it was 2 months in storage so off the grid).
    Anyone has had a similar issue before I bring it to the applestore and wait for the overpriced repair?
    Thanks!

    Hi Gus,
    Which beeps?
    The following table lists the new tones and their meaning:
    Tone(s)    Description
    1 tone, a 5-second pause, repeat    No RAM installed
    3 successive tones, a 5-second pause, 3 successive tones    RAM does not pass data integrity check
    1 long tone when holding down the power button    Firmware upgrade in process. See About firmware updates for Intel-based Macs for more details.
    3 long tones, 3 short tones, 3 long tones    Firmware restoration from CD in process. See About the Firmware Restoration CD (Intel-based Macs) for more details.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2538
    Might be time to replace the PRAM Battery, 4 years is close to their lifespan, far less if ever without AC power, & can cause strange startup problems...
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/CR2032/
    Not easy to do yourself.
    PS. You reset the PRAM.

  • Imac 2009 freezing up on startup

    I have an iMac 2-3 years old, an Intel 2.66mhz core 2 duo to be exact.  Lately, the computer is freezing during start up at the point where the grey dashed circle is spinning.  It literally stops spinning and just sits there.  The only thing i can do is hit the power button and restart--then it usually starts up without a problem.  I have all the latest software and updates and have run disk permissions.
    What is going on??

    I too have had this problem with the computer freezing up. I tried all the fan controls, upgraded memory, clean install of OSX and it did not solve my problem. It did help with the cooling a lot though.
      I replaced the HD with a Seagate SSHD 1TB model and it has solved the problem. I still get a little freeze if I over run the memory or max out my CPU use. But the SBBOD or Spinning Beach Ball of Death is gone. I have had very few freezes since then and that was me trying to make it freeze up.
    My machine is a late 2006 iMac 24" with 2.33 GHz processor, 1 TB SSHD, 4 GB RAM but systems only uses 3 GB with the Nvideo 7600GT 256MB video card. My machine was a CTO but only had 2GB Ram and 750GB HD when I ordered it in November 2006.
    Temps are as follows:
    CPU   33C  max according to intel is 100C  fan is at 2700
    HD     33C  max according to Seagate is 60C fan is at 3000
    GPU   36C max according to Nvideo is 64C fan is shared with CPU at 2700
    ODD   32C and the fan is set at 600.
    I use SMCFanControl and the modified default setting. If and when I really strain the system and it get hotter I use a custom setting of:
    ODD 3675
    HDD 4014
    CPU 2987 to 3200 max RPM.
    I have removed the front face place and drilled holes to increase airflow bring more cooler air in and that helps some with the cooling. That is a big process in itsself.
    Lets say the apple logo on the front is surrounded by 79 holes and then on the top 37 holes and you can feel the heat coming out the top.
    Hope this helps you or anyone that is having this problem.

  • How do I move a video project from Encore to AIR via Flash Builder?

    I've got a rather complex video project with lots of submenus (that works as a DVD - so it is "debugged") that I need to be able to export from Encore into an app to upload on the iTunes store and Android Market. So far, I've managed to export the project via Encore's Flash output and test the results using a web browser (it works). Everything got saved in a new folder structure with an index.html file pointing to the flashdvd.swf file pointing to the AuthoredContent.xml file that actually holds all the information on the file structure (there are 99 files in the Sources subfolder) and uses the default generated Theme.xml file.
    What I need to do is to somehow import all this into Flash Builder as a project so it can become the source for the various "app" platforms. My questions are:
    1. I've got Flash Builder 4.5 - do I need to upgrade to 4.7 in order to import the project or can this be done in 4.5?
    2. Is there some intermediate step that I'm missing?
    3. Will Flash Builder be able to repackage all these files into the file specs required by each target platform (I'm assuming it will - is that a valid assumption)?
    And moving downstream a bit...
    4. Since this is a video based project with over 200 megabytes of F4V content, how will the content arrive on the end user device? Will it have to be  streamed or can it be downloaded? - this is a big issue should the app become popular and we be forced to maintain a streaming server somewhere. What about server sizing in such an event? For example: is there a way to estimate how much bandwidth is required per 1,000 instances?

    Oh, no i think i clicked Solved but it's not at all solved and i don'tt see a way to reverse it and clicked unsolved.
    I'v tried reading the Manuals but still don't see the solution.
    I think I've misworded my question.  Perhaps i shall have to start a new question.
    What i want to know is very basic.
    How do i take a video i see on either youTube or another side and put it either on my iPod (i guess via iTunes) or put it into a document or an email??
    Do i copy some link?  Copy what exactly?  Do i click and drag something?
    I think if i knew how to get a video to iTunes I could be able to sync it.
    But i don't know the first thing, how to get a video onto iTunes, or email, or a document.
    Thank you both.

  • I need help migrating an existing project from Flash Professional CS6 to Flash Builder 4.6.

    I have followed tutorials...instructions on the web...all I get are unsolvable errors.
    I have a large Air application that compiles fine and works in Flash. However I would like to take advantage of the as3xls api which does not work in Flash Professional (for no reason in particular the internet just tells me it won't work because Flash Professional cannot access some part of the Flex framework).
    So I want to make my project work in Flash Builder. However, when I attempt to reference my document class, flash builder gives me an error telling me the package path com.andrewbefus.ModelMapper no longer works. It does this no matter how I select the folder to reference my document class. If I change the path to nothing...Flash Builder is happy with my document class and unhappy with every other class I have made.
    Then I decided to make a new Flash Builder ActionScript file and simply replace the ModelMapper.as document class that Flash Builder created with my completed ModelMapper.as. After some messing around with paths and directories, I got Flash Builder to be happy with my program structure but then all hell broke loose on almost every single Class outside the Flash Builder framework. One by one I attempted to tell Flash Builder where to go to get my components, fl.motion classes, and my custom classes but Flash Builder refused to recognise them unless I reference the folder containing the files, and then proceeded to tell me that the project path of every single class needed to be changed. I imagine if I spend the rest of my day mucking around with this something else will come up.
    I went looking for a tutorial explaining how to migrate a Flash Professional project over to Flash Builder. The closest thing I could come up with told me to just select my fla. file by going Project<Flash Professional<Create project using Fla file... which worked great except refused to compile my project as a desktop application for no sane reason - giving no option to select my project when I attempted to create a new Run Configuration.
    One frustration after another....

    I've also followed all the instructions here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html
    Still no luck...

    Hi Guys:
                I found that the exe file built from LV 2009 SP1 can be easily extracted by WinRAR , i can see all the main or sub vi , is this a bug? or a settings risk? I haven't found the same problem in  LV 8.6 ,
    thanks

    I do not think you should think to much about it. One of the first discussions about it  is here http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/decompiling-2009-executable/td-p/991662. It is correct that they will be able to extract the VIs But they will not be able to see any more than you show in your program.
