Hi,
Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Did the Lync server 2013 migration from Lync server 2010 successfully or the Lync environment still a coexistence environment?
Please check if simple URLs (Meeting URL) update to the Lync server 2013 in Lync Server Control Panel.

  • Lync 2013 Web App Sharing not working.

We are having a problem with Lync Web App 2013.  Our external customers can open the meeting link and join the meeting without a problem.  Once they are in the meeting an internal user begins the presentation by sharing his screen.  The Lync
Web App just says "Loading..." for the external customer.  The internal presenter sees this external customer continually change from "in collaboration session" to "not in collaboration session".  The external customer
is never actually shown the screen share.
    Other notes:
-->We tried this from an external wireless hotspot and it worked fine, thus, it seems something in this customer's company firewall that is blocking it.
-->We also tried sharing a powerpoint (we have a functional office web apps server), which produced the same results.
-->When we used the Lync 2010 Web App (before we upgraded to 2013), everything seemed to work fine, thus I am concluding that the 2013 Lync Web App (since it has more capabilities) is somehow trying to use more ports or something.
-->Internally, the Lync Web app works fine.
So, I assume something in the customer's company's firewall is blocking some access to Lync 2013 Web App.  My question is:  what needs to be enabled both on-premise and at the customer's side to access Lync 2013 Web App screen sharing and if the
company (for security reasons) doesn't want to open extra ports, is there some work around to force Lync Web App to use port 443 for screen sharing.
    Thanks,
    Adam

The ports 1024-65535 * are used for application sharing.
You can configure the port ranges for Lync clients.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx
You can’t use 443 as port 443 is used for HTTPs.

  • Lync 2013 web app login prompt

    Hi.
I have some trouble with Lync 2013 web app. When the page is loaded, it always prompt for credentials.
I understand, that from LAN it try to use user credentials, but from the external it is problematic.
We use TMG as reverse proxy. Is there any way, how to remove prompt for external sites ?
    Thanks

The login dialog is by design, you can’t remove the prompt.
As most external users can access successfully, I think the problem is on the client side.
Please check the supported platforms for Lync Web App at
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg425820.aspx
Please check if the issue always happens to the problem Lync account.
Check if the issue happens to multiple Lync account on the same computer.

  • How to Disable Lync 2013 Web app link in Lync meeting

I want disable Lync 2013 Web App , because it is  confuse WinXP user(no sound suuport) , I reference the topic(Disable Lync Web App link) but not work in 2013 version. How can I disable that?

I assume you're referring to this link:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/33fbfa3f-e7dd-43a7-85f4-43c280e17d4f/disable-lync-web-app-link?forum=ocsconferencing
That was an unsupported but clever hack that we developed by the user asking the question.   There is not supported method for doing this in Lync 2013.
If it's an audio only meeting, I'd suggest removing the URL completely from each individual the meeting invite before sending it out.  If it's not, then the WinXP user would either need Lync, which they would then automatically join with anyway, or
they wouldn't in which case sending them the meeting invite wouldn't help.

  • Lync 2013 Web APP browsers using up 100% CPU

This problem only began this week. Lync Web App is spiking CPU usage, at times up to 100%. Primarily with the presenter speaking. thus causing the speaker to sound robotic. Is anyone else experiencing this issue.

    Hi Rene,
As your problem happens when presenter speaking, I suppose the problem is related with Sound Card driver.
Please try to uninstall the Sound Card driver and install the latest driver.

  • Lync 2013 Web Scheduler SMTP Server for invitations - non-exchange env

We cannot get the Lync 2013 Web Scheduler to send email invites to anyone even after configuring the SMTP server for both the external and internal sites on our one and only front-end (we did the super simple same box install for testing
purposes).  Yes we have done an IISReset;)  Has the SMTP server configuration process for the now built-in Lync 2013 Web Scheduler changed since the add-on Lync 2010 Web Scheduler?
BTW, unless we haven't search for the right phrase(s), it seems there is ZERO documentation about configuring this for 2013 - only for 2010.
    HELP!!!

  • Office Web Apps - Preview Sharepoint 2010 documents in Sharepoint 2013 Search Results...again

    Hi,
I found a thread in this forum With an answere to a similiar question here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/28bc1e27-4a65-4c61-9b3e-cb9dad17f779/office-web-apps-preview-sharepoint-2010-documents-in-sharepoint-2013-search-results?forum=sharepointsearch&prof=required
    ...With the answere:
"OWA uses an access token to talk to SharePoint 2013.  It cannot use this when talking to 2010.  In order to work with 2010, you have to create a custom display template that converts the file url to an openurl link. "
    BUT...
may anyone give more information how to do this?
Links to articles? Links to description and samples?
    jik

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to preview documents from SharePoint 2010 in search results in SharePoint 2013.
Per my knowledge, the Office Web Apps is configured to work with SharePoint 2013, so it will not work with documents in SharePoint 2010.
I recommend to configure Office Web Apps to work with SharePoint 2010
and make sure that documents can be previewed in SharePoint 2010 using Office Web Apps to see if the documents can be previewed in SharePoint 2013 search result.

  • Is Lync 2013 perfectly compatible with Office 2010?

Microsoft Office 2010 and Lync 2013 are two diferrent instances, but they use some common elements.
In our company we have over a hundred MS Office 2010 licences and we dont need/afford to change them all to 2013. Now we want to install Lync 2013 and I wonder if there could be compatibility issues or, if Lync 2013 can modifiy the common files they use,
so that certain functions in Office 2010 will not be available or not work properly.
Is there a risk of this happening or they can work together "in complete harmony"? This is very important to me and I cannot afford to make a mistake. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

    Hi Cristi,
Checkout these Lyncs on compatibility and interoperability:
    Lync 2013 Compatibility http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412817.aspx
    Client Interoperability http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204672.aspx
As far as having Lync 2013 & Office 2010 on the same PC, largely it SHOULD be ok and I've not had many issues. The exception to this was on a recent Citrix deployment, where for some reason running Lync 2013 was causing the Office 2010 instance to rerun
everytime it was started. All desktops were ok though.
My suggestion is to make sure you thoroughly test with every scenario that you can think of before rolling out to the masses.

  • Lync 2013 IM from full Lync client to Apple Iphone 4S

    Hi,
We are running Lync 2013 and Lync 2010 in coexistence. When sending an IM from a fully Lync client (Lync 2013 homed user) to an Apple Iphone 4S with the latest Lync 2013 mobile app installed and the user chooses not to read the notification or misses it
an error is shown on the senders Lync window - is this by design or an error?
This message may not have been sent to Lyncuser1 because the   server timed out.
On the server monitoring reports the following events are logged for client and server:
    24116; Component="RTCC/5.0.0.0_UCWA/5.0.0.0 iPadLync/5.4.1485.0000 (iPad iPhone
OS 7.0.3)"; Reason="The request was rejected because the application did not
    respond to the incoming call and it was not the preferred endpoint.";

    InboundRouting
    13004; reason="Request was
    proxied to one or more registered endpoints"; source="FEserver.domain.com";

Please advise f this is something we should be concerned about as the message does get received by the iphone user but the sender gets a message that indicates it may not have reached the iphone user.

    Hi,
Did the issue happen both clients internal the company or external the company?
Please check if the both of the tested users could see the presence of each other normally.
Please try to log off Lync Mobile client and then log back on again to test the issue again.

  • Can't Edit Data in Access 2013 Web App

I have an Office 365 P1 account that I have been using to create apps in Access 2010. I tried Access 2013. But when I launch an app, it loads in my Office 365, but editing data is not enabled (the Add and Edit buttons are displayed, but not enabled).
I have tried creating a new custom web app with one simple table and a view, as well as creating one using a Microsoft pre-built template, and simply creating the app and launching it. In both cases, the app displays, but I cannot add or edit data.
Is there something with my Office 365 account that is limiting my ability to work with Access 2013 web apps?
    Thank you!

    Hi KrisMarshall7,
In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
What the file format is your Access 2007 file? MDB or ACCDB?
Where do you want to add the columns? Table, form or query?
    As far as I know,
the limitation of columns in a table is 250. Thus, I suppose that the database had some hidden columns. Please try to check it. Steps:
Right-click any field title, then select Unhide Fields. A dialog box will appear. Click the check boxes of any fields you would like to be visible again, then click Close.
    Hope it's helpful.

  • Office Web Apps server / Lync server 2013

Hi I have installed a Lync 2013 Server and Office Web Apps Server. Configured Lync topology, Office Web Apps farm and certificates.
However when i start the services i get this error message in the log saying Office Web Apps discovery failed.
    Event ID:      41033
    Description:
Office Web Apps Server (WAC) discovery failed, PowerPoint content is disabled.
Attempted Office Web Apps Server discovery Url:
Received error message: Invalid Uri syntax for WAC configuration
    The number of retries: 1,
Cause: Office Web Apps Server may be unavailable or network connectivity may have been compromised.
    Resolution:
Check HTTPS connectivity from this box to the Office Web Apps Server deployment using the discovery Url.
I can access the OWAS server Url from Lync Server
Connecting to the HTTPS discovery URL is working fine, and brings up the XML-page (after i click "show all content").
The two servers are located on the same internal network, DNS resolves fine both ways, and no firewall rules blocks any connections between the two. Can anyone please help me figure this out?
Only identical problem found online is here (Invalid Uri syntax for WAC configuration):
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/dodeitte/archive/2012/09/10/office-web-apps-server-amp-lync-server-2013.aspx
He resolved the problem by assigning a new OAuthTokenIssuer certificate. This however did not fix the problem in my case.

    Hi,
In addition, please make sure you have restarted front end and office web apps server after reissuing the certificate.

  • Office web Apps server Lync 2013 Certificate

    Hi,
I'll be installing Office web app (OWA) server with Lync 2013 std edition. External users access is disabled but federation is enabled, mean OWA will be exposed to internet as wabweb.contoso.com, the interal host name of OWA server is owa.contoso.local
Does the certificate on the on OWA server need to have owa.contoso.local and certificate principle name and wabweb.contoso.com as SAN? or only owa.contoso.local is enough?

It really depends on how you publish the server to the internet. You have some options. If you are publishing this via a reverse proxy, internally you would have a private cert with .local on it and the public name on the reverse proxy.  If you are
punching a firewall hole/NAT directly to the server your best option is to use a public cert on that server directly.
That all said, personally I like to make both the internal and external farm URL the same, and use a public cert on the server (if no reverse proxy is in play).  So I would actually enter the OWAS Farm as wabweb.contoso.com in topology builder, than
when creating the farm via PowerShell make that both the internal and external URL and get a certificate with a single name on it of wabweb.contoso.com.

  • Lync 2013 - Presence not showing in SharePoint 2010

    Hello,
Presence was showing while on Lync 2010 and Office 2010 but at some point we lost the jellybean presence.
We recently upgraded to Lync 2013 and O365. Yet our SharePoint 2010 libraries are no longer showing the presence next to Modifiied By or Created By.
I've checked CA and presence is enabled. AcriveX add-in ia as well.
    Thank you,
    Andrea

    Hi,
Did the Lync Server 2013 install On-Premises or online?
If it is On-Premises deployment, Presence is displayed by using an ActiveX® control and Lync APIs.
Please check if the Office to be the Latest version, if not, update it and test again.
If it is Lync online, you can also post a question on Office365 forum for assistance. Thank you for your understanding.
