Lync Sign in Problem
Hello,
I configured a lync server 2013 enterprise edition on sub domain. But, users can not sign in.
Error: "You didn't get signed in. It might be your sign-in address or logon credentials, so try those again. If that doesn't work, contact your support team."
I checked clock/language/region settings. They are same with the child domain controller.
I uninstalled and installed again the lync client. But problem continues.
What is the problem?
Result of Lync Connectivity Analyzer:
The credentials were not authorized by the server. Please verify your login credentials and try again.
Couldn't connect to URL https://lync.child.contoso.com/WebTicket/WebTicketService.svc/Auth
Ms-Diagnostics-Fault ErrorId: 28000, Reason: User is not SIP enabled.
Reason: Internal server error (HTTP status code 500)
Server discovery failed for secured internal channel against https://lyncdiscoverinternal.contoso.com/
Starting automatic discovery for secure (HTTPS) internal channel
Hi kircay,
Important: Lync shares the member groups across all domains therefore it’s an installation requirement for these to be prepared in the top level root of your domain and not the child.
To prepare the sub domain, you can run the following command.
Enable-CSAdDomain -Domain child1.contoso.com -DomainController <ChildDomainControllerFQDN>
From the error message, it stated the user is not SIP enabled , you can run the following command, this will force the User Replicator to discover and synchronize with all available domains.
Set-CsUserReplicatorConfiguration -Identity global -ADDomainNamingContextList $Null

Eric

Adobe AIR 3 Performance Issues and Code Signing Certificate Problem
I recently updated to Adobe AIR 3.0 SDK (and runtime) doing HTML/Javascript development using Dreamweaver CS5.5 in a Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).
The AIR app I'm developing runs well from within Dreamweaver. But when I create/package the AIR app and install it on my machine:
1. The app literally CRAWLS running it in my Windows 7 12G RAM machine (especially when I use the mouse to mouse over a 19-by-21 set of hyperlinks on a grid) --- IT IS THAT SLOOOOWWWW...
2. The app runs fine in my Mac OS X 10.6.8 with 4G RAM, also using the Adobe AIR 3 runtime.
About the Code Signing Certificate problem:
When I try to package the AIR app with ADT using AIR's temporary certificate feature, I get the error message "Could not generate timestamp: handshake alert: unrecognized_name".
I found some discussions on this problem in an Adobe AIR Google Groups forum, but no one has yet offered any resolution to the issue. Someone said Adobe is using the Geotrust timestamping service --- located at https://timestamp.geotrust.com/tsa --- but going to this page produces a "404 --- Page not found" error.
The Google Groups Adobe AIR page is here:
http://groups.google.com/group/air-tight/browse_thread/thread/17cd38d71a385587
Any ideas about these issues?
Thanks!

From a forum user here on page 6
"The log in process is still combersome.
every time I log in, it gives me the error "The message you are trying to access has been deleted. Please update your bookmarks."
I have to click the button under that statement, then click the back button on the brouser, then click "sign in" just to get it working.
And this happens every time I log in. Somebody needs to get some bug spray :-)"
Solution:
Ensure that you access the Forum Home page at this link: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/
Click on Sign In and then you will be taken to HP Passport
After signing in on Passport you will be automatically be returned to the Forums Home page.
Reason:
If you access the forum from a link in a notification within your e-mail for a post for which you checked the box "E-mail me when someone replies", you will encounter the problem first noted above. After you follow the e-mail link to the forum DO NOT sign in then but instead:
Click on Forum Home (located in the row just under Sign In) and Log in to HP Passport then you are taken to Forum Home and then you must find the post you wanted to access.
Fix by Adminstrators:
Can you fix this "bug" so we can sign in at the post in the thread that our e-mail linked us to?

We've recently received some reports of some users having trouble to sign in on their Skype supporting TVs (Panasonic TC-P55VT50 and similar). The Skype app on the TV will not accept a prefectly valid login that works fine when used elsewhere (e.g. on desktop Skype clients or the Skype web account page) with the error "Failed to synchronize with CBL".
UPDATE (21.08.2012): As a temporary workaround please login to your web profile page and enter date of birth and gender information there.
UPDATE 2 (20.09.2012): We've fixed the sign in issue via an update on our end. If you are still facing sign in problems on your TV, please create a new message.
We are looking into this and are confident to provide a permanent fix soon.

Lync Sign in issue through Proxy
Hi All,
Not to be confused when said Lync Sign in issue through Proxy as it is unlikely that this is an issue with the proxy settings. Find it out yourself from the behavior below.
It is in fact a weird issue that I have come across.
Overall there are almost 30 Lync Users accounts.
And they are trying to authenticate to external Lync Server.
28/30 works fine through the proxy. Except for 2 user accounts.
The proxy settings are same for all the users and no individual configurations set.
Now, here is the interesting part. Go out of the network and authenticate this 2 user account to any of the workstation which is not going through Proxy, it works. Come back to the workstation which is going through the proxy and try again, it will work
now.
Now, I am interested in finding how exactly does Microsoft authenticates their Lync users. And what are the step by step procedure of User Authentication for Lync service. And why is this happening?
Just to add some more point here, these happens only with 2 specific accounts.
And if you try using these 2 accounts on any of the 28 working workstations, which is going through the proxy, the first time, it would still fail to get authenticated.
Can someone put a highlight on these behaviors? is there any user specific settings on the lync server?
Thanks for your inputs. You can check the following blogs about Lync authentication process:
http://blog.schertz.name/2012/12/lync-2013-client-autodiscover/

You can enable Lync client logging to collect the log file to check the sign in process for these two users can’t sign in externally.

Are you ever going to fix the "You've been signed out" problem?
I've gone through forums and your trouble shooting page and I've found a lot of angry customers over thus Creative Cloud "You've been signed out" problem. Fortunately for me, I'm not a customer. I installed it so I could download a trial or premiere with the intention to buy, but now I don't need the trial because this is issue has made up my mind. But I am still curious if you're ever going to fix it?

Lync 2013 and problem with copy/paste from SQL Mgmt Studio.
Hi Everyone,
Recently one of ours programmers noticed a very interesting issue which is a real pain in the a## for him and his colleagues. It was all fine with Lync client 2010, problem started when moved some people to 2013 client.
When someone sends him a message with SQL Code, and he is pasting it into SQL mgmt std. he gets dashes "-" instead of spaces " ".
I thought this is a local PC issue, but:
1. On 2010 it worked, stopped all of a sudden when they changed lync client to 2013
2. They are pasting code on the SERVER not local SQL mgmt std. on their client machines
3. Even if I send him a code from Lync 2010 and he is pasting that from his 2013 client - he gets "-" dashes, so I guess it is not important from where I send the message, but from where he is copying it.
As for now, I have noticed that problem with guys from England and region of APAC - they have lync 2013 client already.
Really appreciate any help as I donot have any point where to start troubleshooting...
Cheers guys,Hi,
I test the issue with my colleague and didn't find the same issue.
Here is the screenshot:
So please check if Lync Server 2013 and all the issued Lync 2013 client update to the latest version firstly, it not update to the latest version, update it and then test again.

As suggested in another thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5122457#5122457) I'm posting my specific case here.
I was not able to sign into DPS via the folio builder within InDesign. It just failed silently. After speaking to our network admins, I managed to get my PC enabled to bypass our corporate firewall temporarily, then disabled my proxy settings with Internet Explorer, and was then able to login without any issue. After I was blocked through the firewall, I can no longer log in (as expected).
I'm on Windows, and our internal proxy authenticates via Active Directory.
It is not a workable solution to have any users that want to produce folios having full direct access through the firewall, so the two options I see to make this work are:
1. Get folio producer working through an authenticating proxy
2. Allow through our firewall all of the possible Adobe servers (sort of defeats the purpose of a firewall, especially considering the number of servers that would be required)
I'll be happily corrected if there is anoter solution out there..Hi, here’s what Adobe has sent to me.

The Real Problem is that my Lync HP 4120 Phone can't make a sign in, not from USB cable loging, nor with PIN authentification
When I try to make a login with the USB cable, I set the user and password and the phone says "Connecting to Lync".. "Downloading a certificate" ... "Installing certificate"... "Downloading Certificate"...
"Installing Certificate".. forever
When I try to make a login with PIN Authentification, the phone first displays the following:
Account used is not authorized, Please Contact your support team and then shows this:
An Account matching this phone number cannot be found. Please contact your support team.
The Pin authentification is enable
In the Lync Server Enable Kerberos Authentification, Enable Integrated Windows Authentification and Enable Certificate Authentification are enable

and i joined a win 8.1 pc to my domain
when i try to login it ask me for password but when i enter it it says that
cant sign in to lync
you didnt get signed in .it might be your sign-in address or logon credentials, so try those again. if that doesnt work, contact your support team
im desperate guys , plz help meHi AliReza Baensaf,
You can follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
1. Please check whether or not all the Lync services are running.
2. Make sure the required DNS records are set up.
DNS requirements for Front End pool in Lync Server 2013
DNS requirements for automatic client sign-in in Lync Server 2013
3. Please try manual configuration to test the issue.
4. You can enable Lync client logging and use snooper to analyze it.
5. Install the updates for both Lync server and Lync client.

Lync 2013 credentials problems on domain computers
Hi folks,
We are having trouble with Lync 2013 and credentials on our domain computers. We have been using Office 365 and Outlook for our email for a couple years and it has worked well enough, so recently we decided we wanted to start using Lync as well. We deployed
the Office 365 Pro Plus suite available to us through our Office 365 subscription and signed in. The first sign-in went as expected. It asked for a username and password, asks if it should remember those credentials for next sign-in (yes), then connects and
everything with Lync itself functioned normally. Subsequent sign-ins have not been normal.
When a user restarts their computer and launches Lync it remembers their user name but not their password. Once they type their password in it asks if it should remember those credentials for next sign-in again, then connects. If a user exits and re-launches
Lync without restarting it remembers their credentials and signs in properly, but then immediately a popup box appears saying that "Credentials are required" in order for Lync to get calendar information from Outlook ( http://i.imgur.com/hqcK426.png
We know the problem is only happening with computers on our domain, but we don't know why. I tested things out on my home desktop and network by installing Office 365 Pro Plus, setting up Outlook, and then Lync. Both Outlook and Lync auto-discovered everything
normally after getting my credentials and Lync behaves as expected every time the program launches. I then brought my personal laptop in and tried the same thing on my work network to see if it is network related, but Lync behaves normally on that computer
as well.
I originally worked on the problem at the Office 365 Community Forums ( http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/166/t/246014.aspx ), but after we isolated the problem to something with the domain computes I was told that they could not help me any further
and was referred here. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is keeping Lync from behaving properly on our domain computers? We have a mix of Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8.1 x64 computers, all joined to the same domain and with the same basic suite of software.
Thanks,
~Misharum
PS: How do I verify my account? The outlook.com email address has been verified, but I don't see anywhere to do verification in my TechNet profile here.Yeah, the clients are fully patched. I put a support ticket in through Office 365 and the rep there was able to help me. It ended up being two separate problems.
Lync was not remembering my credentials to automatically log me in between restarts:
Installed the latest version of the Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant.
After signing signing into Lync another popup appeared asking for credentials again to access calendar information. (two steps to solve this one).
In Active Directory Users and Computers, open up the properties of each affected user, go to the Attribute Editor tab, find and double click the proxyAddress attribute, and add in
sip:[email protected] where the userid is the user's login name and domain.com is your domain. I'd imagine this is scriptable in PowerShell but I don't know enough to do it.
Then on the computer that the users will be using, while the user is logged in, add a dword of NoDomainUser = 1 in the registry at HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity. The most sensible way to do this in my mind is with a group policy so
it will get written to each user's registry under their profile when they log in.
After doing all of this Lync remembered my credentials between restarts, signed me in automatically, and only gave that credentials popup on the first sign-in after applying both changes in step 2. -
Lync 2013 Connectivity Problems
We have one computer that will not let anyone sign into Lync 2013. We have re-installed Lync, repaired Lync, tried using the manual configuration with the lync servers, compared registry settings from a machine that does work, compared certificates to
machine that works, and looked at network settings on the computer with no luck. When you attempt to login, you enter your email address which is <[email protected] and then get prompted for a password. Once you enter your password, you just see the
message "Connecting to server and signing in." This will just sit here to many many minutes and not ever do anything. We are using Office 365, Office 2013, and using a hosted exchange environment with dirsync with password sync. Can anyone help with
this issue? It is definitely something local to this computer because the user can login to Lync on other computers. Thanks.Get sign in automatic configuration and download lync from office 365 portal

Triangle sign (font problem)
I finally found some more time to customize my computer. I got some inspiration from this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=162510 and decided to start from changing my command prompt. And here's my first problem.
I wanted it to look like on a screenshot attached to this post: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 9#p1267139. I just love those colorful arrows. So I installed powerline-fonts and otf-inconsolata-powerline-git from AUR. But on my machine those arrows doesn't look so cool. No matter which font I try, they're always too big and too small, like here on the screenshot:
http://oi42.tinypic.com/5jve5u.jpg
I use terminator and my PS1 value is:
"\$(if [[ \$? == 0 ]]; then echo \"\e[42m✔ \# \! \e[32;44m$(echo -e '\u2B80')\"; else echo \"\e[41m✘ \# \! \e[31;44m$(echo -e '\u2B80')\"; fi)\e[;44m \u@\h \e[34;43m$(echo -e '\u2B80')\e[;43m \W \e[;33m$(echo -e '\u2B80') \e[m"
Also, I'd like to give ttf-agave, which is a non-powerline font, a try, so I need some symbols font containing a triangle sign similar to powerline's U+2B80 but of the exactly same height as font's background.

sudo atsutil databases -remove
Terminal will then ask for your admin password. As you type, it will not show anything, so be sure to enter it correctly.
This removes all font cache files. Both for the system and the current user font cache files. After running the command, close Terminal and immediately restart your Mac.

I received a car charger for xmas. I have an iPhone 4. Is there a difference in the charging dock between the older and newer iphones? I don't want to damage it by shoving a cable in that is designed for a newer model.
