Bad quality of X1. Lack of customer empathy. More than 3 weeks to repair already. SAD.

Frustration over the build quality of the X1 carbon ultrabook and the warranty service aspect of it. Bought in September 2012 for a student. Simply stopped working 3 weeks back and given to Palo Alto service center. They sent to some factory for fixing. Emails to execs, customer service met with lack of customer empathy. Is this a reflection of Lenovo culture?

Hi, purukms
Sorry to hear you're having such an experience. If you happen to know your serial number, then I can look up the machine and see why these delays are happening and let you know when you should be able to expect your machine back. All you have to do is send me a private message containing your name and serial number and I'll look it up.
Best,
Adam

  • Do you have customer with more than 100 users ?

    Hello
We think to place business One to a One hundred users customer.
Do you know if it will works fine ? Do you have an existing customer with more than 100 users ?
    Thanks for answers.
    Julien

    Julien,
The number is users is just one component in detemining if SAP B1 would work well.  If the transaction volume is low-medium then it should not be a problem.
I have implemented a couple of 100+ user installations and they are still using B1 after 3 years.
Minimizing the number of Alerts also helps in better system performance in case of such large installations.

  • Creating a good laptop quality video with effects without it being more than 1 Gb

Every time that i make a 10 minutes video in Premiere Pro with a lot of effects it always turns out to be more than 3 Gb big which is really hard to send over the Internet. And when i try to convert it to a smaller file using a video converter it looks horrible (part of the screen is freezing and loosing the quality). And a really good Hollywood movies that last 1.5 hours actually take less space than my 10 minutes video. How can i keep it small and good quality? Using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Do this, and while it is in the open re-examine your cpu pins w/ a bight light and hd zoom or a magnifying glass.
Thanks, xmad, I'll look at th CPU again tomorrow/next day under the glass when I take the board out.  I already checked them under magnification and was leaning toward a funky board, but it never hurts to re-check.  Eyesight is not what it used to be, for sure (I miss DOS, if that's a clue...).  Don't want to flash the BIOS if not necessary, since it runs Windows fine and everything works except that RAM.
Bernhard, I don't have CPU-Z installed on that machine and don't want to install anything else until it's working normally.  I'd never seen Click-Bios before and just need to get over my initial suspicion of something new!  Also learn my way around it before I change anything.  I'd never encountered a board reporting a bios different than printed on it.  I've never messed with manual memory settings or done more overclocking than just a little exploratory and suprisingly successful nudge - if you could point me toward a  good basic explaination of all those settings, I could learn from there.
    Appreciate your input very much.
Have learned a lot just reading the threads here for the last few days.  This is the best forum I've ever encountered.  I'll report back - some suggestions in other posts resembling my problem ended with no resolution, and that's a shame because one doesn't know if it worked or not.

  • Ink levels, bad quality & possible loss of loyal customer!!!!

I can't find any of the places this is telling me to go to look for my ink levels.  I checked the drivers and they are up to date and working properly.  Yet I've been having problems with my printer not working correctly and sometimes not at all.  I was hoping to look at the ink levels and see if something has gone wrong with my new ink cartridges that could be causing these problems.  However, I can't find the place(s) to go to and check.  It's simply either not there or not where this says it should be.  I don't understand.  But my printer never indicates that the ink is low even when it is (by way of the indicator light), I never get on-screen messages telling me it's low either (like I did with my last HP printer...that also died with similar problems), and it seems to be going through ink much faster than it should.  And that's with a combination of draft quality and normal quality printing of simple black text items.  I rarely print anything of either a higher quality level or with pictures!  I don't understand why I am having these problems.  It is very frustrating because what was an awesome printer seems to be having problems and we never know when it is going to work.  Since the ink runs out entirely too fast, this also puts a financial burden on my family since the cartridges exceed $30 yet I'm getting half or less of the printing that it indicates one would get for regular everyday black printing without pictures.  I am on the brink of stepping away from HP entirely.  I have already ventured away from HP on the computer level and, now, I just might venture away from HP printers and other products alike.  Especially since my HP wireless mouse also acts bizarre at times and just won't work for a spell and suddenly works again.  It's not the battery because it happens even with a brand new battery.  It seems that, no matter how much I respected HP as a company due to their "superior quality" it has the reputation for, HP has let my family and I down.  I am a college student and it is most inconvenient when I need to print a paper for school and I have to get to school early and PAY to print it because my printer or cartridges are "conveniently" on the fritz again!!!  I highly suggest that HP looks into the various systems that people are using with their printers so they can give better advice, or info, on how to check the levels, and I even more highly suggest that HP invests into their quality before the general public starts to feel the way I've been feeling and also walks away from the HP company as a whole.  I've been using HP, computer and printer wise, since 2000 and it's a shame that it has come to this.  If someone would like to reach me about my thoughts of the company's new-founded UN-superior quality and attempt to keep or regain me as a customer my information is as follows.  Dana M. I hope this feedback is taken seriously if HP is serious about their quality, performance, and loyalty to their loyal customers (who, by the way, are getting ticked at the declining quality).  With each HP product I own, the quality seems to decline, and that's a shame because each time I actually upgrade to a "better" and more expensive model thinking that the quality is due to it being a cheaper, lesser quality product.  It seems that when I "upgrade" the quality actually worsens, which is absolutely backwards.  I spend more so I get less.  Not many companies follow that standard!!

  • Payment Predictor applying multiple payments to the same Item when customer send more than 1 payment in 1 deposit.

We have an issue where customers are sending us multiple payments and they come in the same deposit. When payment predictor runs, it is applying both the payments to the same Item using different algorithms. I would think when an Item is selected by 1 payment it should be tagged like it is on a payment worksheet and another payment should not try to apply it to the same item. Ex: we have an Item with balance $1356. Two payments came in for the same customer for $992 and $1356 in the same deposit. Payment predictor applied both payments to the same Item using #BALANCE and #OLDESTC algorithm. The Item now has a balance of -$992. Did anyone else see this issue?
    Thanks,

Are both the payments for the employee not transferred or only the unpaid one ?
How about paying both the amounts(status paid) and then do a transfer to SLA.
    Cheers,
    Vigneswar

  • Entries in  BSID for customerA is more than for Customer B.

    Hi SDNers,
In case of CustomerA, no of entries fetched from BSID is 246709 .
Because of this a standard piece of  code takes a looong time to execute.
In case of Customer B, no of entries fetched from BSID is just 512.
Because of this less entries standard code executes faster.
Please suggest if some things can be deleted or cleaned up for this customer A from the table BSID.
What should be the steps taken to reduce the time of execution.
since this is a standard code, i cannot  make changes too.
    Please suggest.
How can we clear up so many entries from BSID?
    Can archiving be done?
    or deletion?
what steps needs to be done to reduce the entries for CustomerA in table BSID.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    SuryaD.

This would be a basis related job of deleting.
No, it's not, unless you have performed clearing as Rob suggested.  You will need your FI configurator (or someone who knows how to perform the IMG step) to specify the clearing criteria by customer account number range.  Be sure that the criteria are accurate for your business needs so the documents clear properly.  Then you will run one of the SAPF124* programs to clear the documents on a regular basis.
You can't archive open items.  Once the items are cleared and moved to BSAD though, you can archive them IF they meet the criteria (as specified in SARA).  There is a post-processing step to remove the secondary index table entries.  You may or may not elect to run this as well.  Without a good archive imaging system, we elect to NOT run the secondary index clean up - this allows the main entries to be deleted but auditors, accountants, and reports can still generate some details and have some visibility in the FBL*N transactions.

  • Amazing lack of customer service

    OK, first complaint:
    - It would certainly be nice to be able to talk to a real human who cares about customer service complaints.  The phone support really isn't empowered to do much, and there's no option after that...except posting to some forum.
I ordered an iPhone 5S the first week in October, and was given a delivery date of 10/21.  A few days later I realized I had ordered the wrong color.  I had more than two weeks until my ship date, so I figured it was no problem to modify the order.  It turns out the orders CANNOT be modified at all.  I had to cancel my order, and place a new order.  So now my new delivery date is 10/28.
10/28, 10/29....no phone.  I call to check on my order status.  The rep who cancelled my old order and placed my new order never actually placed my new order.  So, I had to start from square one.  I placed a new order.  The new rep is wildly apologetic, offers me free next day air shipping, but can't get it shipped until the following Monday, Nov. 2, so it'll be there Tuesday Nov. 3.  No phone as of Wednesday Nov. 4.  I call Verizon yet again.  It turns out the previous rep never had me agree to the terms and conditions, so the order was put on hold.  The current rep switched me to the automated system for confirming my agreement to the terms and conditions.  Unfortunately, she switched me to the system to sign up for automatic payments.  There's no way to exit that system to get to a real person.  So, I dumped the hour I had spent on the phone already, and called again.
This time, after going through the same nonsense, we once again confirmed that my order was held due to not having agreement to terms and conditions.  This NEW rep switched me to the automated system to do that.  OOPS.  This time she switched me to the system for activating my new phone.....the one I don't have yet.  Again, can't get out of that phone jail without hanging up and calling back.
So, third call that night.  This time I managed to get a rep to stick around and walk me through agreeing to the terms and conditions.  Now the phone is finally ordered.  The rep is mortified, or so he says, by what I've had to go through.  "Don't worry, we'll comp the next day air.  The phone will go out, probably tonight (11/4).  You'll have it on the 5th or 6th, no problem."
I tried to check the "automated" online order system today, but it wouldn't work (for me, or for the rep I had to call....yet AGAIN).  It turns out that I did NOT get next day shipping.  So it goes out yesterday (or so they say), 11/7, and with 2-day shipping it's not scheduled until after the weekend.....11/11, or about 3 weeks after my original delivery date.
Will the phone come on Monday?  Who knows?
Will anybody at Verizon care?  I think we already know the answer to that.  With a little luck I can get somebody powerless to go online and say how sorry Verizon is that I had a bad experience.  A resolution?  Yeah, sure.
In the old days of "The Bell System", which was eventually broken up into, among others, Verizon, Lilly Tomlin used to do her telephone operator bit on "Laugh-In".  The funny tag line was that she'd answer the phone with a cheerful chirp: "Hello, The Bell System here....we don't care, we don't have to".
    Sound familiar, Verizon?

That was a very impressive "non-answer answer".  I didn't WANT to cancel my first order.  I was FORCED to cancel it due to your order system, which is geared to your convenience, not mine.  The half-dozen other problems were created by careless and shoddy customer service.  It's too bad that doesn't bother you enough to address it at all.
My order date was pushed back 3 times due to your cavalier attitudes toward customer service, and you even failed to follow up on your own promise of trying to ease the pain a little.
Just to clarify....not ONE delay, but several delays, one caused by an outmoded ordering system, the rest by pure incompetence.
Don't bother to reply.  The light may be on at Verizon customer service, but there's clearly no one home.

  • N9 Gorilla Glass - bad quality?

I have my N9 for more than a week now and I can see very small scratches on the gorilla glass. I use the phone with great care and never put it face down somewhere. I also have it in a pocket separated from other things such as keys or coins. I'm really disappointed about the quality because I have other Nokia devices with gorilla glass for more than a year and they don't have one single scratch. And I used them a lot and the same way I use the N9 now. I think the N9 gorilla glass is of very bad quality. Anyone else seeing like small spots and scratches on the N9?

Nope, not on mine. I got a few scratches on the display of E7, which I didn't know where come from. Could be grains of sand in my pocket or something like that.
If you think that your screen suffers from a fault, visit a Nokia care point and tell them about it, if you're lucky they might replace the screen, but gorilla glass can get scratches too, like any other screens. So most likely there aren't anything you can do other tha protect it even more carefully.

  • Regarding having more than one telephone number of customer

If my customer has more than one telephone and/or fax number, how can i enter them all in the customer master during customer creation??

    Hi Sobhan,
There is an option beside the text box in customer master to enter the multiple values.
The option is an arrow is there that is for multiple values.
Click on that option and then click on new values(The option with icon + button).
    Enter your telephone number.
    Press enter.
Similarly the same type of option is available for fax also.
Enter your fax number and then press enter.
Below that icon you will find a green coloured small box after entering means multiple values are there for that field.
    Regards,
    Mohan.

  • Very disappointed with the lack of Customer service

I have been a verizon wireless customer for 15+ years, and have never been more disappointed.  Does anyone else notice that it seems like you are dealing with 2 different companies - and they don't play well together?  I 'chatted' oniline with a VZW rep - and was advised that if I upgraded my husband to a smartphone - our monthly bill would go down 6.00.  I ordered the phone - she told me that I could either wait until I activate to change my plan - or call customer service to do so.  I called.  Quote #2 - totally different - going up 22.00.  I advised we did not want to do that - our bill is already over 200 per month.  Chatted the next day - quote #3 - up 30.00.  The kicker was when we went to the store tonight.  The gentleman basically said if we deal with online - don't bother them.  Don't they both work for VZW?  His customer service was a little more than lacking.  I am considering switching to another carrier - even though I have 3 other phones that are under contract.  I don't want to worry every time I need customer service - which one of them will help.  Anyone suggest another carrier??

I totally agree -- HORRIBLE customer service experiences recently. What happened?
I have a been a VZW customer for years and have always appreciated the excellent service.  Recently, I called to add my ipad to my shared data plan and waited 30 minutes with no resolution (see image below).  After refusing to wait longer, I the agent offered to call me back with instructions after the change had been made.  He did call back, which I appreciate, however 30 minutes to add additional services is unacceptable.
I've also tried reaching customer service several times this week for account questions and immediately receive the message "we are experiencing heavier than normal call volumes and wait times".  After waiting 5-10 minutes each time I have given up.
VZW had better get their act together.  If I wanted bad service I'd switch to Sprint and save at least 25% each month.

  • Moving Home / Lack of Customer Service / Cancellat...

I write to express my complete astonishment and disgust with the level of service BT has offered to me as a valued long standing customer.
I have been a customer of BT for approximately 4 years, taking out a phone line, unlimited broadband, BT vision and Sky Sports, amounting to a considerable charge of around £42.00 per month. I have used these products constantly during this period and have been very happy with the service.
In mid February 2012 I phoned to inform BT that I was moving home shortly and would like to switch all service to a new address. I was told that I needed to call back when my current line had been taken over by the new tenant, at which time I could then move my services.
On Thursday 1st March I rang BT to inform them that my line had been taken over by the new tenant and that I now wished to move my contract over. I was informed that I needed to take out a new contract which would then waive any connection charges. I was more than happy with this and asked to set up the new account. The lady at BT who I was speaking to informed me that after running a line check there was an issue with the new property in respect of the supply to it. I informed her that the previous tenant in the new property had a BT phone line with all BT sockets but had obviously cancelled it on moving out. She informed me she would run some more tests and ring me back the following day on the Friday 2nd March. BT did not contact me at any time on the Friday.
On Saturday 3rd March I rang BT back very disgruntled with the lack of service offered. I spoke to a gentleman who checked my account and system notes and stated he didn't know why I hadn't been contacted back. He informed me that I could take out a new account and waive the connection fees. He run a check on the line but informed me that it was coming back as a black line, and that he would need to book an engineer to come out to the property to check the connection. He was very helpful in his nature and suggested that I plugged a phone into the BT sockets and dialled 17070 to check for a line and number. He stated that as it was the weekend he couldn't book an engineer till Monday but he would personally phone me back by 12pm on Monday 5th March to check with me regards any current phone line and if necessary book the engineer.
At 1.00pm on Monday 5th March I had not received any phone call from BT. I can't say that I was surprised given BT's lack of customer service over the previous few days. I proceeded to phone BT again at my expense on my mobile phone to be greeted by a very helpful gentleman who again took me through the same details as previously had been stated. I informed him of my disappointment of BT's customer service, to which he apologised and tried to set up a new account for me. On attempting to set up all my services I was told that it kept failing on the BT system when it reached the broadband page. He suggested that I set up the phone line to instigate the new account and once live I could then upgrade my account to include broadband, BT vision and Sky Sports.
Although not happy with this I accepted the proposal to which he then attempted to book an engineer. He promptly informed me that the next engineer available would be on Monday 26th March 2012, a full 3 weeks delay!! He then informed me the broadband could then be initiated but with an additional lead time of a further 5-7 days. Thus bringing the whole episode up to a total of 4 weeks, not including the time already wasted by BT in the previous week.
I proceeded to inform the gentleman that this was an unacceptable amount of time coupled with the inconvenience and lack of service, and that I would now cancel my contract with BT.
After coming off the phone to BT, I proceeded to go onto the internet where within 10mins I had set up an account with Plusnet for broadband. I received a text message 2 hours later from Plusnet to inform me that my phone line was now live and gave details of my new phone number together with delivery details of my new home hub and an expected broadband start date within 3-5 days. Now that's quality service.
I have since received a final bill from BT stating cancellation charges of £61.13 to be paid by 22nd March 2012 and also a returns envelope to post back all the equipment.
Please can BT inform me whether this is an acceptable standard of service that a long standing customer expects?
Please can you inform me why BT have difficulty in moving my account to a new address when a new provider can initiate within hours?
How can BT charge me a cancellation fee when I have attempted to continue my service but BT could not offer the service within a reasonable time frame?
    Under the Supply of Goods & Service Act 1982, please inform me if BT believe they have met the requirements of the legislation;
    - That BT have carried out the service with reasonable care and skill
    - That BT have carried out the work in reasonable time
    - That BT ensure the work will be carried out at a reasonable cost
I am totally disgusted with BT and the level of service offered, the inconvenience caused, the wasted costs and time I have incurred trying to move my service and the overall unprofessional nature of your business.
I have sent a personal letter to Ian Livingston - CEO of BT  -  can't wait for the comical reply to that!!
Update 13th March 2012: Just received an obnoxious call from BT Customer Services stating the cancellation charges of £61.13 will stand as per an auto renewal contract which expires in August, even though BT cannot offer the service I require in a reasonable amount of time! Is it acceptable to wait 4 weeks for Broadband when I am an existing customer?? I think legislation, OFCOM & Ombudsman are firmly on my side! Great service BT!!

  • Bad quality in Ext Monitor in new MacBookPro

I have been using a Dell U2410 with an old MacBook (2008) with very good quality.
I have just upgraded to a MacBookPro i7 2,9GHz, but the image quality in the external Monitor is ver bad.
The main problem seems to be lack of contrast (but I'm not an expert). There is a lack of definition in lines and fonts, they even seems to be ligthly 'erased'. Gray color of the windows is very pale when the window has not the focus. In the Safari Window I have opened (when not in focus) the back and forward buttons are nearly mised with the background. I have at the same time the old MacBook open and they are clearly defined. On the other hand the icons in the dock (blues, yellow, grenn) have a deep  color and the white letters in the desktop are very well defined.
I have tryed to calibrate but there is no way to make it better. When doing the calibration, in the first step I cannot get the center oval to disspear. The right side never gets different from the left.
Sorry for the vague descriptions. Is there anything I can do to get a better quality from my good monitor?

If you are displaying the whole screen it will look bad and there is no way of avoiding it.
It is caused because your screen is probably 1200 pixels (or more) wide but a DV image is only around 700 pixels wide so you are losing a tremendous amount of detail.
To make matters worse, much of the fine detail on the screen will probably shimmer or flicker because the video is interlaced.
You can reduce this by using the De-interlace Filter but the overall quality of the image will still be poor.
The only way I ever achieved reasonably sharp results was to show no more than half the screen at any one time. If you do that your results will be OK.
