Mac Air with HP Monitor

I've connected a HP 2311x monitor to my Mac Air.  The HP acts as second screen.  If I drag a window to the right it will show up on the HP screen.  I want it to act as the primary screen instead. Advice? Thanks in advance.

In System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement tab > Drag the grey rectangle from one screen to the other.
This will move the menubar.  The dock will go also depending on where you have it displayed and the relationship of the second monitor.  ie.  If dock is on the bottom and second screen is aligned or lower it will appear there.  If second screen is on the right but the dock is defined on the left, it will appear on the primary.
Regards,
Captfred

You need to use a DVI to Mini DisplayPort adapter; for a 30-inch display, the adapter needs to be dual-link.

Reinstall MacFuse with the one from http://www.tuxera.com/mac/macfuse-core-10.5-2.1.9.dmg. If that doesn't work, you can use Paragon NTFS for Mac 9.0 which has been designed to work with Lion.

  • I need to connect my mac air with my mac mini home computer?

I cannot find out what is needed to connect my mac air with my home computer, a mac mint

If you have a WiFi network at home, the MBA should easily connect to the Mac mini or vice-versa for anything from file sharing, oprical disc sharing, or even screen sharing. Start in System Preferences > Sharing and turn on the desired services. In that same panel you can choose whether that access is for all users or for specific user accounts on the particular system.
Then go to the other computer and open Finder then look under "shared" and select the computer you want to share. If you have activated screen sharing as well as file sharing you will actually have logon to both shares using the user account and password for the user you specified on the other machine.

Is there a way to sync a Mac Air with a Mac Mini?

    There's always a catch
Check the two sites I mentioned - you should be able to specify the 'freeware' category when performing/narrowing down your search.

haha, so now i'm thinking. I'm learning the terminal as fast as i can but there are several lines of codes and commands in there that throws up red flags to me that i don't fully understand. It just looks fishy too me. It would be highly appreciated if someone could just check this out just to tell me that i don't need to worry about it. Or point me in the right direction. I just feel un easy about this. ha.

You can in fact buy what you want, no need to go with Apple TV
To connect (wirelessly) your Mac to the HDMI on the TV:
They range from $100 on up.

  • Were can I get either MacBook Pro or Mac-air with English united state style keyboard, in Japan

Were can I get either MacBook Pro or Mac-air with English united state style keyboard, in Japan

    Hi Melophage,
Thank you very much for your response. I have a similar question to the one Abraham has, but applied to an offline Apple Store, say, the one in Ginza.
I will have little time in Tokyo, and would like to get a MacBookPro with a US or Int'l keyboard (with or without Hiragana, I don't really care as long as there are English letters on the keyboard) off the shelf from an offline store. However, I keep getting conflicting responses from both within Apple and on forums.
There's an option to get a US keyboard when ordering from Apple online, and that's fine. How about the in-store pickup option? Is there one, or will there be a MacBookPro with an English keyboard if I just show up at a store one day soon?
I would greatly appreciate an answer if you have one. Thanks in advance!

  • Mac Air with Linux now back to OSX

I have a overwrote my mac air with a Linux distribution, now i want to install OSX Snow Leopard! Is that possible when I just buy the CD for about 30 CHF?Lost my old cd!

Unlike Creative Cloud, Creative Suite was platform-locked so your OS X license won't work on Windows.
Adobe will only cross-grade a product to another platform for free if you have the current version, so you will have to buy an upgrade to qualify. See Order product | Platform, language swap

  • Buy mac air with Arabic and English keyboard

would like to buy mac air with Arabic and English keyboard?
    can u guid me

Nobody in these forums represents Apple or any store.  So to find out whether you can buy something, you need to contact stores or consult their websites in the country where you live directly yourself.
Since you did not say where you live, it is hard to provide much further help.  If you live in the US, you can go to the web page for the online store and order this machine with an Arabic keyboard.  But they will not ship outside the US, and every store is different.
Arabic keyboards always have English on them too.  Otherwise you could not type email or web addresses.

  • New Mac Air and HP monitor.  The monitor only displays the background.  How Can I get both to display the same thing?

I have a new Mac Air and want to use my HP Monitor HPLP2475w to save $$.  I attached it to the Mac Air but all I get is the background of my laptop.  How do I get this to match or use in the dual mode.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jackie,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  How did you attach the Macbook Air to your HP Monitor?  What cable did you use?  The article below will explain how to setup the display.  Video Mirroring is the option that will allow you to see your computer's display on your HP.
OS X Yosemite: Connect a display
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH19035?viewlocale=en_US
You can easily view the contents of your Mac on a display, like an Apple Thunderbolt Display, or on your TV.
    Connect an Apple Thunderbolt Display:
Plug the display’s cable directly into the Thunderbolt port  on your Mac.
Connect an Apple LED Cinema Display:
Plug the display’s cable directly into the Thunderbolt port  on your Mac.
Connect a TV or display with an HDMI connector:
Plug the cable directly into the HDMI port on your Mac. For more information about using a TV, see Use your TV as a display.
Connect a display with a VGA connector:
Use a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter to connect the display to the Thunderbolt port  on your Mac.
Connect a display with a Mini DisplayPort:
Plug the display’s cable directly into the Mini Display port  on your Mac.
After you connect your Mac, the contents of your screen automatically appear on the display or TV.
If your display uses a video port that’s not available on your Mac, you may be able to use an adapter to connect your display. For example, If your Mac doesn’t include an HDMI port, you can use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI video adapter with the Thunderbolt port on your Mac.
OS X Yosemite: Connect multiple displays to your Mac
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH19039
Set up the displays for video mirroring
Video mirroring shows the entire desktop on each connected display.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click Display.
Set both displays to the same resolution.
Click Arrangement, then select Mirror Displays.
    Enjoy your new Mac!
