    Hello, mrselisec.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would need more information regarding exactly what is happening when you attempt to send to an AOL email address to better assist you.  However, he are a couple basic troubleshooting guide that may help with this issue.

  • TS3276 Mac Mail won't send emails with signatures

My Mac Mail won't send emails with signatures. I get the "whoosh" sound and they show in sent mail, but the recipient doesn't receive them until I take off the signature and resend the email. Without a signature, it is received. It never used to be a problem, but started this past month. Please advise!

Did Earthlink have you try using their authenticated SMTP server?
If not, try changing Earthlink's SMTP server settings to the following:
    SMTP Server: smtpauth.earthlink.net
Server Port: 25 or 587. Assuming Earthlink is your ISP, 25 should work.
Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): Off or not selected.
Authentication Type: MD5 Challenge-Response. Not sure if this authentication type is available with 10.2 and if not, select Password.
User Name: Your entire Earthlink email address.
Password: The password for your Earthlink email account - the same password used to check the incoming mail server for new messages.

  • Mac Mail won't send .mac mail

All of a sudden Mac Mail won't send mail from my .mac account through it's mail server even though the MobileMe sends mail just fine.
Anyone know what may be up?
I hate using the mobile me mail.

I experienced the same problem--unable to SEND mail using MobileMe server. Changed to port 587, now seems to work (cross fingers).
I also noticed that I cannot change the incoming mail server name from "mail.mac.com" to "mail.me.com." When I try to change then save, it reverts to "mail.mac.com."
By the way, under the "Advanced" menu, can anyone explain "IMAP Path Prefix"? It's blank by default, I gather. Why might someone use a prefix here? Also the default port is 143 and the "Use SSL" block is unchecked.
    Merely curious.

  • Mac Mail won't send messages through some accounts

For many weeks I've had to use gmail because Mac mail won't let me go through either my business server or my personal website. I can send if I just use the browser so I know they are working. I've tried various addresses for my out going mail- nothing. I've gone into preferences and disabled those accounts, quit mail, then reenabled them again- still nothing.
My secretary is having the same problem on her Mac mini. Any suggestions?

I've encountered this issue too and I believe it may be an ISP issue. When I set up a new internet provider at my home I was at first unable to send business mail from home. Eventually I solved the problem by calling the ISP and they either made an adjustment or had me change some obscure setting on my computer or modem (it's been so long I can't remember exactly what it was). I still sometimes run into this problem when I take my laptop elsewhere. One way to check and see if this is the issue for you (if you have a laptop) is to take your computer to a coffee shop or some other place with wifi and see if you can send out mail using your business address from there. You also might want to check and see whether you are able to send mail to other addresses within your organization, or whether the inability to send email is across the board. I mention that because I seem to remember that I ran into an issue of some servers being unwilling to forward email that comes from outside to another address that is outside. So if you try to send an email from home, using your business address, to an address outside of your business, it may reject it, while accepting an address within the business.
Hope this helps and please bear in mind that I'm no expert at all.

    Imac mail won't send messages

See if this helps. I recieved this from Comcast back in November 2012, but may have something to do with it.
    Dear Valued XFINITY Internet Customer,
    Action Taken:
On August 1, Comcast announced that we will no longer support the use of port 25 for sending email. Many older email clients (such as Outlook Express) default to using this port to send email. Please read this message to understand how this action may impact your ability to send email, and what you should do next.
    Comcast Webmail Users:
If you use a web browser to access Xfinity Connect or other webmail service, this action will not affect your ability to send or receive e-mail.
Email Program Users (Outlook Express, Outlook, MacMail, etc.):
If you use an email program, this action will disable your program's ability to send email until you change your email program settings to send email on port 465. To protect your email security, click on the link for your current email software, then follow the step-by-step instructions to change your settings.

The send buttin is greyed out when I try to text some but not all people from my iPod Touch. This happens even when they have iPhone 4s. Any ideas why and how I can fix this?

This issue can be caused by the McAfee SiteAdvisor extension.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Mac Mail won't send - spinning wheel

    Hi,
This is an intermittent problem that nobody has an answer for.  Anyone up for a challenge?
Sometimes, when I use Mac Mail to send with my business account (hosted by GoDaddy), I'll click Send and nothing will happen.  The spinning gear will appear beside the Sent mailbox and just....spin.   For 5 minutes.  20 minutes.  Random times.  Then, it will either give me the error that the server is offline or it will just quietly send the email at some point.
It's not fatal, it works eventually, but you never know when.  I need to respond when I send mail, not sometime in the next several hours.
I've got no idea what the problem is, and it's making me crazy.  Never happened before I upgraded to Lion last year, and I'm not about to leap into Mountain Lion unless I know this is fixed.
Thanks for any suggestion or advice.
    Bryan

  • Mac Mail Won't Send w/ Verizon

I've been at this for hours, used outgoing server settings "outgoing verizon.net";, SSL on/ off Port 25, 110, 587. Nothing sends!. incoming works fine. Its on a Mirror Door 1.25 G4, Tiger. This is usually a simple setup. Please help!!!
    Thanks!!
    Andrew

Was outgoing verizon.net a typo here in this post? I don't have verizon but I read in an earlier post that their smtp server is outgoing.verizon.net. Port 110 would never work because that is the standard port number at the mail server for retrieving your mail, not for sending it. If Verizon is your ISP with whom you connect as well as your email provider, I would have expected port 25 to be the port number for the smtp server. Have you called customer service? It is also odd that there has been a very recent post (≈17.5 hours earlier) with someone (polyad) not being to send mail through Verizon, too.

  • I can't send messages to two contacts that I have entered into my iPad. The send button is greyed out?

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem please?

First of all anybody that you want to message with has to have messages already set up on their devices and they have to be registered to use Messages on their own. You cannot add them, they actually have to add themselves to use Messages. Messages only works with other iOS devices as well. You cannot text with any other cell phone or smartphone.
But if the contacts were not registered you would get a different message than a grey send button I think. Go to Settings>messages>Show Subject field. Make sure that Show Subject Field is set to OFF.

  • 10.8.2 mac mail won't send. reset modem and router and it worked for one day and has stopped working again

My imac is running 10.8.2 mountain lion and has been since it came out. In the last couple of days the Mail program has stopped sending. Incoming is OK. The message I get is that " my sender address was rejected by the server". We have 3 macs running Mail [2 of them running mountain lion and 1 running snow leopard] that have the same issue. Our other 2 Macs using Eudora are working fine. WHY ??????

Mail - Prefrences - Accounts - reinput all the settings you see. I believe one or more is corrupt, re-inputting them will reset them. You can also try Apple's suggetstions in:

  • Emails from Thunderbird or Mac Mail won't send..

For some reason emails have stopped sending. I'm getting an error message below:
    Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server mail.apartmentsberlin.eu timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator.
This is from my iCloud account and my own domain. I have posted this problem on the Mozilla 'Thunderbird' community forum and have been advised to try sending emails with my Mac in 'safe mode'. I've tried that and yes, they send (albeit very slowly), power-up in regular mode and the problem returns.
The fact that the emails send in 'safe mode' ok apparently suggests that some other setting or software is causing the problem on my Mac such as add-ons in Thunderbird.
I don't appear to have any add-ons or extensions installed, only 11 plug-ins. I've disabled them and the problem's still there.
I can't understand why this would happen out of the blue. I haven't installed or turned anything on in the last few days.. don't understand!
Any help or ideas, gratefully appreciated.

Thanks, I tried that. iCloud didn't appear to have a problem (see attached)
I've tried selecting and de-selecting SSL. To be honest, I've given up on 'Mail' as suggested by host Webair as apparently there are so many issues with it. I was recommended Thunderbird and have been using that for months now.
Settings as recommended by Webair as follows:
Incoming Port: 143 (though emails come in ok)
    Server name: malil.apartmentsberlin.eu
    Connection Security: STARTTLS
    Authentication Method: Normal Password
    Outgoing Port: 587
    Server name: malil.apartmentsberlin.eu
I keep getting told from other forums that there's some other software or setting blocking incoming emails..
